Help with Internet Settings for Blackberry Curve 8520 On Orange Pay-Monthly

I need help with my internet settings I'm currently on Orange Pay-Monthly and have recently bought a second hand Blackberry Curve 8520 which is unlocked but used to be on 02! I don't have a clue on what to do or where to start all I know is in the top right hand corner where the signal bar is it says GPRS and WIFI ! I don't want WIFI as I don't have a wireless connection and would like to get the settings for my curve so I can browse the internet and go on Facebook etc and BBM!! No my laptop has got the software and I installed the drivers for it but the phone is not being seen and when I troubleshoot it,,, the results ay that the phone does not have the software drivers. Do everything it says, including waiting the maximum recommended time (perhaps longer...perhaps 5 days). Applying power to your BB between it getting wet and doing this process reduces the chances of success. Further, the only thing predictable about moisture intrusion into a BB (indeed, any electronic device) is that the results will be unpredictable. I've seen some come back up right away and be fine. I've seen others never work at all. I've seen still others run for a bit, and then die later. And every thing in between.
Only after that process should you attempt to recover your BBs functionality. It may never work again, or it may be fine...there is no way to predict.

WiFi for Blackberry Curve 8520?

For the longest time, I have been trying to figure out how to get the WiFi option to work on my Blackberry. I have tried to set everything up according to different forums and seeing if it would help, but nothing seems to be working. It always seems to refer me back to the settings/options. Can anyone help with my problem?

Hi Vivian, Internet by wifi on blackberry is a miracle to work. Some routers (I think a lot of..) don't work with blackberry.. but.. the true is.. blackberry wants that you pay data plan service.. but try do this:
1. go to mobile service . .active data plan menu.. if you don't do this you never get IP address from DHCP server from wifi router
2. try again to connect the wfifi network

HELP regarding abnormal high maintenance of Blackberry Curve 8520 for WHITE SCREEN

I have a BLACKBERRY CURVE 8520 since past 2 years.
For past few days, the screen of the set become WHITE.
i searched the net and i found the it is common problem of BLACKBERRY.
i tried few tricks as told by various forums.
but the WSOD( white screen of death) didn't go.
my handset can still receive the calls, but i cant see CALLER NAME'.
i also got messages which i am not able to see.
OVERALL MY BLACKBERRY BECOME OLD CLASSIC TELEPHONE INSTRUMENT NOW.
I went to authorised service centre of Blackberry at Meerut in India.
He told that the LCD screen is to changed and the cost will be around Rs. 6600 only !!!!!
I returned with BIGGGG SHOCK !!!

I then tried to find latest price of curve 8520.

On ebay.in/   Rs 8850/-
TOO COSTLY SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE OF BLACKBERRY>.....
It is very difficult to lodge a complaint for BLACKBERRY. Customer support is very poor.
Can anyone guide me as I am not able to use my Blackberry for past several weeks?

Blackberry curve 8520 is not working/rebooting

since last week my blackberry curve 8520 is shut down and not rebooting, I have tried many time but when reboot it an error # 523 accour and set goes held, pls help me that How I can start it

1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.

2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
"c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.

Just select the appropriate device model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

BlackBerry curve 8520 connection problem

hi guys , i have BlackBerry Curve 8520 , and i used data plan for BB for 1 day and then it ends cuz i don't have money in my carrier balance , all this is okay . But which isn't okay is that after it ended , i still can use Hotspot browser on WiFi and browse the internet but i can't use chatting apps like Whatsapp , Zello and Viber and also BlackBerry appworld doesn't want to open, it tells me " We cannot connect you to BlackBerry AppWorld . Please ensure that your deviceis connected to the wireless network and try again " . But which drive me crazy that when i reboot the device it works good for sometime and then this happens , Plz guys help me . and an important information , this problem is happening with my brother too he has the same device . Or simply download the latest BlackBerry Desktop Software on another PC and have a try.

My Blackberry Curve 8520 hangs.

With my Blackberry Curve 8520 handset when one call is going on and the second calls comes (call waiting) the device hangs. I have checked the device software version from the blackberry's official website and it shows that it is the latest version. Our organisation has provided total 13 of the executives as me and many of us are facing the same problem.
What could be the reason and what is the solution...??

Are any of the affected handsets a totally vanilla device OS? As in, zero add-ons? It could be an add-on that is the culprit...but determining that is a tedious process. My recommendation is to build one from scratch and then install no add-ons. See if the problem happens. Then start slowly adding add-ons and testing each time. Once the behavior starts, you have found the culprit.
If, on the other hand, a truly vanilla BB experiences the behavior, then there would appear to be a problem with the core OS itself. You should double check your carriers DL site for a device OS update (btw...there is no BB official website to check for device OS releases...the carriers control OS releases...RIM hosts some on a RIM site, but the content is controlled by each carrier.).
Please also report back with your carrier and the device OS level that you are using on these HHs.

Blackberry curve 8520 app error 523

BlackBerry Curve 8520 showing me this "APP Error 523 - Reset "it shows to me and it dosen't open,when i press Reset phone restarted but it shows to me the same thing. Later I connected data cable 8520 with blackberry desktop software
And delete all 3rd party apps with "loder" but I can't solve this problem. Its now show this this massage " app error 523" now my bb is off mode now how can I relode new OS in off mode. What can do???

My blackberry curve 8520 has lost all my pictures in the lost.dir folder how do I recover them

I have a blackberry curve 8520 and it has moved all of my pictures on my memory card into a folder called LOST.DIR (I`m not 100% sure they have moved there but I found a lot of files in there that seem to be my pictures) I am not sure how I can recover these files, please help! I`m not sure if it has something to do with the fact that a few weeks ago I was taking a picture and a pop up came up and said something along the line of there wasn`t enough memory on my SD card so pictures will save on device memory and I clicked yes. I`ve taken out the SD card and battery several times and that hasn`t worked. I took someone else`s advice an moved the folder into the DCIM folder where I was able to rename one file to . jpeg but I cannot open it. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

My name is Hamza Qureshi. I am using blackberry curve 8520.
My service provider is Airtel Prepaid.I am facing some problems when i am using 2g plan in my curve 8520 then except browser not a single application is not working like (whatapp, wechat, line, operamine browser) not a single 1. May i know the reason?
I had reset my phone last month and from that point of time i m facing the same problem infact the wifi is also not working, when I connected my phone with the wifi of my home is shows that its connected but its not working.
I thought the problem is that my blackberry id and bis plan is not activated in then i recharge it for 1 week and create by bb id and that particular period of 1 week I downloaded the application but after that I am facing the same problem so can any one help me in this.
Right now i am using 2g plan but except browser nothing is working not a single application nor a wifi.
please help me I wanted to use these app on 2g plan not on BB plan or airtel.
So kindly provide me a proper resolution regarding my query.

There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
If it won't boot up cleanly, then you may need to try Safe Mode:

The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type).This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info. Alternative methods for bringing up the logs are in this KB:

The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app. Still another method is to reload the BB OS cleanly, leaving some time between adding other apps onto the BB so as to be able to determine exactly which one is the cause.
