Latest OS X update Borked My Monitor - Help!
I just installed the latest OS X update on my Mac mini and now my monitor can only display "Out Of Range" when it's turned on. I know ewhat the problem is - the resolution is either too high or too low and I need to adjust it manually. The problem is that since I am updating the OS, Safe Boot doesn't work. Is there any other way of booting my Mac in a "neutral" state that will allow me to adjust the screen resolution manually?
Restart, booting from your bootable backup/clone of 10.5.4.

I don't get a photo preview in bridge of my raw files, just the NEF file thing. Then when I click to open them I get a message that says: "If you are attempting to open a raw file from a digital camera, make sure you have the latest Camera Raw update installed via Help > Updates" "If the problem persists, visit the following link for more information: http://www.adobe.com/go/kb407111". Usually the problem with a newer Nikon camera is that the NEF files have been transferred or viewed with obsolete Nikon software, like Nikon Transfer for View NX, and those change something in the header of the raw file that makes it unrecognizable to Adobe products.
For new images, the solution is to either stop using Nikon products to transfer and view your files or update your Nikon products to be as new as your camera.

My MacBook Pro (newest model in 2013 so far) does not sense external monitor (Panasonic HDTV in my case) via thunderbolt-HDMI connection...Is update 10.8.3 helping anyone else who has this issue? I returned my multiple HDMI adapters after figuring out it had to be an Apple issue n not the adapters so I can't check it myself now.

Since the latest FF automatic update - any jpg I send to myself I cannot save as a jpg. This is so frustrating. I use my camera phone to take shots of our library activities and then to make newsletters, website updates etc. Just started this week. Today is the first day I noticed this problem.

I run 3 email accounts on Mac Mail, all 3 disappeared after doing the latest OS X update. I have tried adding the accounts back but no mail appears. Help!
The mailbox list is divided into categories with headings in caps, such as ON MY MAC. When you hover the cursor over one of those headings (except for MAILBOXES), you should see the word Show or Hide on the right. Click Show. The MAILBOXES category can't be hidden.
In each category, the mailboxes are arranged in groups, such as Inbox. To the left of each group is a small disclosure triangle. If the triangle points to the right, click it so that it points down. -
I just updated my Mac Mini to latest software, tried updating GarageBand. It downloaded but now it gets stuck downloading the 'essential sounds and loops'. It always worked fine before I updated and would really appreciate some help. Thanks

Just installed the latest iTunes software update (iOS 5.0.1) on my MacBook Pro, and the extra images i had placed on my album covers in the selected item box have disappeared, leaving just one image per track. Any ideas on how to restore would be most appreciated...
Installing an iTunes update does not remove your media or personal files.
Are the files actually missing off the computer, if so, you have a serious computer issue... not a software update issue.
Regardless, use the backup of your media and other important files to put everything back. You do have a backup, correct? -
recently downloaded cs6 and tried to download images from d600. error states need latest camera raw update. How to go about this?

This morning I downloaded the latest Apple software updates. After the computer restarted, I cannot send/receive emails through Mail. I can, however, send emails through the Yahoo webpage. Nothing (user names, email address, password, etc.) was changed after the download/installation. I can get on the internet and my iPad works just fine, just not Mail.
That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
Just in case you missed some of the files:
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
/Library/Application Support/Conduit
/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is your the root library on your Hard Disk. -
I updated my iPod touch 4th generation from the latest iOS 4 update (i think maybe iOS 4.3.5 or something like that) to iOS 5.1.1. I updated to iOS 5.1.1 on a Windows XP Home Edition with the Service Pack 3 installed on the Windows XP (which I believe is the latest version). After updating, I unplugged my iPod from the computer. I saw that all my photos and videos were on my iPod, but there were no apps. A window popped up and told me to enter a passcode for my iPod. I entered a passcode. I then locked my iPod and entered what I thought to be the correct passcode, but my iPod remained unlocked. Desperate, I tried many passcodes with failure. After a while, my iPod became disabled for a long time. I decided to reset my iPod. After I reseted it, I chose to reset from my earlier back up. After reseting, my computer loaded on all my apps. But, when I started using my iPod, I realized all my photos, videos, music, app data (like game saves and high scores), etc. were gone! I have no idea what to do and I am very stressed about this! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME GET ALL MY STUFF BACK!!!!!!
Go to iTunea>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backupright at the time you did the update. Then try restoring from that backup. If the apps are in your iTunes library, any app data will be restored to the iPod.
When restoring from an iOS 4 (or later) backup, if the device had a passcode set, iTunes will ask if you want to set a passcode (and remind you that you had protected your device with a passcode). iTunes will not ask you to set a passcode when restoring from iOS 3.x and prior backups.
Therefore, remembe the passcode that you enter this time.
It appears that if you restore from a backup, that backup is not subseqyently overwritten by the next backup. -
While trying to download the latest Apple Itunes update to my Toshiba laptop I got the following
message: APSDaemon.exe system error.
I uninstalled Itunes and tried again, but got the same message.
Help, pleaseGo to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

I downloaded the latest iTunes software update and it properly installed. But, I cannot close the update window showing it was completed and the blue completion bar is full but cannot cancel or close it either. Any ideas on how to clear that out and close the window. Tried to quit on both the big window and the software update title in the menu bar. No luck.
Tried that by shutting down via the power button only as the normal shutdown was nixed by the open window issue. It did not help. Found a very similar question in the discussions and it recommended "Force Quit". That worked and the update works normal and the window is gone. Thanks!
