Latest Patch Updates

Question

When should I see the Latest Patch Updates coming through via smpatch?
For example, 119254 is listed in the Latest Patch Updates on Sunsolve but the revision referenced (119254-52) is not
showing up in my smpatch analyze for my Sparc servers.
Please advise.

You can check whether or not the patch is in your cached copy of the patch db using the following steps:
# cp /var/sadm/spool/cache/Database/*current.zip /var/tmp
# cd /var/tmp
# unzip *current.zip
# grep ^119254 patchlist.delimited
You should find a line that looks like this:
119254<!>52<!>SunOS 5.10: Install and Patch Utilities Patch<!>sparc<!>SunOS<!>5.10<!>121333-02 121133-02<!>119015-03<!><!><!><!>BaseOS.SolarisPatchUtils-5.10 BaseOS.Package.Cmds-5.10 AdminInstall.Solaris.SUNWswmt-5.10 RecommendedCluster.Solaris-1.0 RecommendedCluster.Security-1.0<!><!>clientroot clientusr noncontract<!><!>1622736<!>20080229<!>Public Solaris10 SolarisAllUpdates SolarisSecurityUpdates SolarisUtilityUpdates<!>
If you don't have revision 52 of the patch in that file then I would suggest removing the old current.zip files and retrying an analyze again:
# rm /var/sadm/spool/cache/Database/*current.zip
# smpatch analayze
Note that if you are using a Sun UC Proxy (aka LPS), you may also need to delete the file from the cache on the LPS so that you get a fresh copy.
