Latest PC Suite problem

Hi there
I have the latest version of Nokia PC Suite installed and recently I've updated my Nokia E50 to the latest software version 7.13.00 When I try to make backup of the memory with Nokia Content Copier, everything is ok, but when I have to restore phone memory from this backup, I can't edit my profiles anymore and every function, related to the phone's book ( including programs for contacts manipulations ) isn't working anymore. Is anyone have the same problem?

    I just purchased a new iMac with the latest iLife suite. As part of the migration process in setting up the new machine the 3Ivx video codec was brought onto the new machine as well as my old movies.  When I tried opening the movies iMovie crashed and told me it had a problem with the 3IVX video codec, in doing some research I found that the 3IVX video codec created a problem so I deleted it and downloaded Perian 123.  The Perian 123 works well with Quicktime but iMove does not now see my old movies.  At this point I cannot open any of my movies.  Can anyone help?  Thanks

    There also might be a more updated, compatible 3ivx codec you can install, or just try re-installing a newly downloaded version of of the same old codec: http://www.3ivx.com/download/macos.html
    Otherwise download and install MPEG Streamclip: http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
    In iMovie hold down CTRL and click on the clips that don't open. Choose Reveal in Finder. Convert those files by dragging them into the window of converter program, and save as Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC). That format is native to iMovie and will work perfectly.

  • PC Suite Problem with N73 - Synchs but other apps ...

    Hope someone can help - Have an N73 and using the latest PC Suite - running windows XP with service pack 2.
    I can connect OK to PC Suite - though often teh phone isn't detected so I have to start again. But usually can connect and synchronize no problem. I can also get file manager to work. But Back up, install applications, store images, transfer music all cause PC suite to close. I get the standard MS error box (this appication has encoutered a problem and has had to close, and the option to send an error report to MS.
    got Back up to start once, but it said there was no phone connected (despite the fact that I had hust synched successfully).
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled PC suite. I have used the PC suite cleaner, in safe mode, and reinstalled again. Still no success.
    Any ideas?

    I am running Windows XP Professional 2002 with service pack 2 installed
    the message depends on the app. I am trying to run
    when I click on 'About' in the menu, the program stops! I get the error message 'LaunchApplication.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close".
    I am connecting via the cable (CA-53) supplied with my N73 phone.
    The following applications don't seem to work:
    Back up. Begins to run, then get the error message contentcopier has encountered a problem and needs to close
    Synchronize works fine
    Install applications gets the error message 'Nokia application installer has encountered a problem and needs to close'
    File manager works OK
    Contacts - Opens up phone browser but when I click on the contacts icon, the interface opens up then I get error message appears "contact manager.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close
    Message - Opens up phone browser but when I click on the message icon the error message appears "text message editor has encountered a problem and needs to close
    View multimedia works OK
    Image store - gets the error message 'Image store has encountered a problem and needs to close'
    Transfer music works ok

    my chat function on my Nokia C3 isn't working.
    every time I start up my MSN acc. it freezes and stays white. 
    also i've got problems with the Nokia Ovi Suite, It says that my phone is not in the Ovi Suite position while it is.
    I'm using a 2gb memory stick and a usb cable:CA-101D

    For Nokia Ovi Suite:
    Go to  Control Panel--> Right click and Programs and Features or add/remove programs "Repair" Nokia Ovi Suite.
    Go to
    Control Panel--> Programs and Features or add/remove programs - > Right click and "Repair" Nokia Connectivity cable driver & PC Connectivity solution.
    If it does not help:
    Uninstall the following Programs,from Control Panel -> Programs and Features or Add or Remove Programs.
    Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
    Nokia Ovi Suite
    PC Connectivity Solution
    Later download and install the latest OVi Suite from the Nokia.com/support.
    After OVi Suite installation, restart your PC, disconnect your internet from PC and connect your mobile to the PC. This is to prevent the PC searching for a new drivers from internet. OVi suite has all the required drivers for all the nokia phones available in market.
    Once all the required drivers are installed automatically, you try connecting the mobile by selecting 'Connect your device' from the bottom left on the OVi suite screen. You should be able to connect your device now.

  • Pc suite problem with 6280

    hi, can someone please help me with my problem with my pcsuite, my phone is conncted but via cable but when i backup my content, or use file manager or sync my phone it cant find my phone and still initializing my phone and nothing happens from there...

    I have 6288, and the latest PC Suite is not working. First all seems to go OK, but then the phone/PC connection goes off and on by itself acouple of times and at last the phone shuts down. Great!
    The old PC Suite version worked fine, so this is negative progress. **bleep**.
    Does anyone know what to do?

  • Bluetooth no more working with latest OVI suite

    Since I install latest OVI suite it seems my bluetooth stop working correctly and I cannot sync.
    however the radio seels OK, since I can pair.
    I've tried to unpai, repair, to clean.
    sometimes it works but afer the first disconnection, it no more works.
    my PC is XP family with Bluesoleil 2 (and CSR chip)
    I could not test on my work PC with widdcomm since OVI crash at startup.
    should I step back to PC suite, until OVI works, or will it be worse?

    I have also tested with an airoblue bluetooth key (kensington driver) that use
    WIDDCOMM drivers.
    it was not working well with 4.x version of WIDDCOMM, unable to synchronize with OVI(however could backup!)
    I have installed the latest 5.x WIDDCOMM of kensington and is does not work either, with the same symptoms as Bluesoleil 2.x, and WIDDCOMM4.x : it seems to work but synchronize is slow and break in the middle.
    works well with microsoft generic driver and my cambridge silicon radio key.
    note that is was working well with the 2 keys, and their Bluesolei and widdcomm drivers since years.

  • After dowloading latest PC suite the programme bom...

    Downloaded latest PC suite ver 7.1.26.0, using Vista 32 bit and E66 phone. PC suite was working fine, now as soon as I send one message the programme won't work. The phone is apparently still "connected" but attempts to send further message result in "Failed to send the message" popup screen. Attempts to refresh the view of the inbox shows no messages, although they are viewable on the phone. Closing PC suite is not enough to restore connection although the phone is visible & "connected" in PC suite. Have to either unpair & re-pair the phone, or shut down & restart the computer to see messages again, and the same thing happens when a message has been sent. I have uninstalled version 7.1.26.0, used PC suite cleaner and reinstalled 7.1.18.0, and the same thing happens there now. I have also upgraded my phones firmware to ver 210.21.007 and that has not helped.  Suggestions/help please.

    its my first time in and I need help there, I have a Nokia 6300 and I installed PC suit, but from some times I can't connect the cell with my computer it is reporting about a windows nokia portable device driver, is there anyone who can give hints on solving this???

    Do backup of all your phone data as well as your pc's registry data and then Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia Connectivity Cable driver, Nokia Flashing cable driver, run PC Suite cleaner, Install Latest pc suite from nokia.com/pcsuite. Reboot your pc and then try to connect your phone.

    I'm installing the latest developer suite. I also downloaded and installed successfully the 10g database, but i get a message devsuite 10g cannot be installed on a 10g database???! If I go on anyway I get a TNS names error (I have two homes know, one for the dbase, one for devsuite) Suggestions?

    You cannot install the both product sets into the same Oracle home. Use seperate Oracle homes.
    However, you cannot use BI Beans 904, which is part of the 10g Developer Suite, to access a 10g database. To access a 10g database you will need to use BI Beans 10g which is being formally launched next week at Open World San Francisco.

  • Latest OVI Suite Version - Unable to Copy Music, P...

    I have a Nokia n900 with the latest MAEMO 5 software on it.
    For some reason with the latest OVI Suite update I'm unable to copy Music, Pictures and Videos even the playlists that i make. I did a DROP/DRAG option and also right click and COPY TO DEVICE option. Odd thing though when i do choose the MASS STORAGE options and take a look at .audio folder there is one file that was copied ONLY but its corrupt.
    Just tried the BLUETOOTH connection instead since this wasn't there with prev version of the OVI Suite and then copying those media files and it works but it's a pain since i copy around 2GB of files and takes awhile...
    Whats wrong with the USB transfer capabilities on the latest OVI Suite?
    BTW already downloaded a fresh copy of the OVI suite and reinstalled and still the same issue. Also got a brand new cable and still the same.

    Sorry for the delay in answering but can only say no issues with OVI Suite v.3.1.1.80 on Xp SP3 device copying music from N900 on Global PR1.2 unfortunately:

    Anyone else had problems with PC Suite after updating their N80? Mine seems to get so far and then crash whilst it is syncronising. Incedentally have not noticed any improved battery life or any other improvements with V4, has any one else?

    Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Connectivity cable driver, PC COnnectivity solution, Nokia flashing cable driver(if any on your PC), Run PC Suite cleaner. Install latest Nokia PC Suite from nokia.com/pcsuite, reboot your pc and then try to connect your phone. What Bluetooth stack you are using on your pc???

    O.K, here's what I did, I had the same problem with my nokia 2600 classic, I went to control panel and open the NOKIA CONNECTION MANAGER and selected the Nokia BLUETOOTH , and closed the pc suite then went into settings of NOKIA CONNECTION MANAGER OF BLUETOOTH and wait for connection to be made , open my mycomputer explorer and it detected the phone , then restarted the same latest version and boom, it detected the phone as a proof, I attached the pic, try this  " i 45.tinypic . c o m / n q u z a g . j p g " , I hope it will work! enjoy

    i think Error with XP SP3
    first i install 7.0.8.2 PC suite using no problem , after the auto update and install SP3 then cannot use the PC suite..inside the Nokia connection manager also can not chooes the ( cable , BT , Serial ,etc.)

  • Nokia PC Suite - problem ejecting Nokia 5310 Xpres...

    I just got myself a brand-new Nokia 5310 XpressMusic phone. I like the phone and am very satisfied with it.
    However I have a problem.
    I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Nokia PC Suite from the website.
    I then can connect (via the USB-cable) and work with PC Suite without a problem but when I want to disconnect the phone in the correct way and click the "Disconnect USB" button next to the Windows clock in the task-bar the warning message that can be seen in this link shows up after about 3-4 seconds:

    I have checked the task-manager but can't see any Nokia program running anymore (unless I overlooked something).
    So now my question is...
    How do I fix this and is it harmful to my phone or pc if I keep pulling out the cable after this message appears (since I don't have much choice if I want to use the phone)?
    Maybe, it's necessary to mention that I run XP SP3, completely updated on a brand-new pc with high-end grade hardware, fully protected with antivirus, firewall etc., no malware-detections at all and that I have so far not experienced any problems with neither pc nor phone meaning that whatever I did (transfers of files, uploads, sending sms etc.) worked until now to satisfaction.

    You are saying that if I run PC Suite and disconnect the phone without transferring files in that moment or committing any other action that requires data-flow between the phone and the pc I'll be okay.
    Is that correctly understood?
    I don't know what you meant by "Nokia Mode" and don't understand the difference between "USB Transfer Mode" and "Mass Storage Mode". Is there any???
    Finally, what is the story with the error-message that keeps coming every time I try to disconnect the phone in system tray via the icon? It shouldn't be there now should it???

  • N900 PC SUITE / OVI SUITE Problems. Need help.

    I am having big issues with conecting my N900 to my PC. Had a long list of troubles uninstalled everything after expeirencing Driver issues on to get Phone parent issues after re install. went through it all again and downloaded latest version of PC Suite 7 from nokia site and it's been installing for 2 hours now and is stuck at 32%.
    Really frustrating just upgraded from E75 which worked perfectly with OVI Suite. now i have N900 that i can't back up or update. Non of the solutions i've read on the board have helped, i'm now into day five of uninstalling - re installing and downloading. Doeas anyone have a solid fix for this soon to be thrown out the window N900 ?

    Surprise surprise USB Phone Parent (no file located) !!! So disapointed, Somebody at Nokia must be able to offer a Solution. Without PC connectivity the N900 is just a very expesive Brick.
    Firstly i live in the poorest contry in Africa so when i paid over 1000 USD for the phone i was annoyed that it had a chrging problem as many people have had i notice from the boards. I go to Europe and take it to a Nokia shop, I am told "no we can't fix it it must be done in the country you bought it". Well thats kinda impossible as Nokia have no facilities in Mozambique, so another 800 USD trip to South Africa to get it repaired.
    Secondly Absolutely no assistance from nokia with the PC connectivity issue for either OVI or PC Suite.
    I knew the iPhone was the smart choice ! anybody wanna buy a 1000USD Brick OR Help me resolve the PC connectivity issue?

  • Nokia 6300 PC Suite problem

    Hi,
    A problem. I installed PC Suite on my PC and worked fine. Then I tried uninstalling it but it seems only part of the program got uninstalled. So now whenever I right-click on ANY file on my PC, I get the message "NOKIA PHONE Browser - The Operation Could not be completed".
    I cannot uninstall the PC Suite nor can I reinstall it again (it says you have a later version, so you cannot install it again).
    Please help.
