Latest PhotoShop CC upgrade causes display driver problem. How can it be solved?
Things were working fine until I committed to the upgrade this morning, and then I got this message when I opened Ps CC:

I've got a problem with my system too. Since the last update I can't use any tools to erase, paste or correct without the display going blank as soon as I start to tool on the image. It matter not what size the image is. I paid good money for this crap?

Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report — they're very long and not helpful. -
HELP : T500, External LCD monitor problems, after upgrading GMA4500MHD display driver!
I have upgraded my display driver for GMA 4500MHD from version 7.15.10 to version 8.15.10.1968 (Vista 32bit).
After the installation and rebooting of the T500, my brand new Samsung SyncMaster2233BW cannot show correct display image.
Only image I can see is white screen with few blue shapes. I'm using VGA output for connection. I have tested the monitor by connecting to my other laptop (Dell D620) and everything works fine.
Can somebody help with this strange problem? How can I make my external monitor work again with
T500? Is it possible to find and download display driver version 7.15.10.xxxx somewhere and revert back?
T500 configuration: 15", 3GBRAM, 320GB HDD, Vista 32bit (Home Premium, SP2)

Can't you just ask Windows to roll back to previous installed driver? Additionally, have you tried going back to the point where previous version of driver was installed through Windows System restore?
Also check in c:\swtools\drivers\video folder to see whether or not the desired driver resides there.

Aperture keeps crashing every time I try and do some auto enhancements crash log comes up with crashed at thread 35 or 36 which seems to point to a display driver problem imac 2.16 intel core 2 duo 3gb ram os x 10.6.7.
This is making aperture unusable I might go back to lightroom never had these problems with it.

When running games, after 10 mins or so display freezes or reverts to basic 16? colours. Computer displays " ATI2VGA Driver has stopped working properly". Usually have to switch off to reset as computer is now locked up.This also occaisionally happens when running browser etc. have installed latest driver from ATI website, with no improvement. Display Adaptor is ATI mobility Radeon 9000.Any help appreciated.

Display driver that you can find on Tools & utilities CD is tested by Toshiba and it should work properly. If you install driver downloaded by ATI website there is no guarantee that it will be works properly.
In my opinion it will be better to install display driver distributed by Toshiba. -

I have a problem that I hope someone can help with When I place any of my work or a photo into CS5-Ext. I can't do any work on it? No matter what tool other than the paint brush I use, as soon as I click on the picture / work it disappears and will only re-appear if I click on it again. I've tried all sorts and it's driving me nuts, Can anyone help?---PLEASE---

What OS are you running?
If Windows, you can often visit the web site of the maker of your video card and download/install an updated driver.
If OSX, you need to look to Apple and their OS updates to get updated display drivers.

Yosemite won't install due to a "S.M.A.R.T. drive problem that can't be repaired."
After downloading Yosemite successfully, it won't install due to a "S.M.A.R.T. drive problem that can't be repaired." It says to back up as much as possible and replace the drive. Everything works flawlessly with Mavericks. What gives??
If you are getting a S.M.A.R.T. error then you should be more worried about losing everything on your drive then about upgrading your Mac OS. Regardless of if you are running Mac OS, Linux, or Windows, you should never just disregard such a drive error. S.M.A.R.T. is designed to give you a warning that your drive is statistically having far more errors than normal and should be backed up immediately and typically replaced.
In your case, it's likely a coincidence that your drive is failing at the time you are attempting to upgrade to Yosemite. You should stop what you are doing, backup your drive (if you don't already have the backups that you should prior to any OS upgrade), and replace the hard drive prior to moving forward.
To make it clear, your hard drive is likely going to fail soon and you may lose everything on it at any moment. This failure has nothing to do with Yosemite or any Mac OS. All hard drives fail at some point. Hopefully this S.M.A.R.T. notice has given you the opportunity to solve a major problem before it gets worse. -

General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as MAC Data Recovery, Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive. Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk. Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Recovery software usually provide trial versions that enable you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

I have recently moved all of my files to a larger external hard drive, but when I am reminder of an itunes upgrade it's still attempting to go to the old drive. How can I change the settings so it automatically goes to my new hard drive?

There are many online tutorials on how to change out the HD on a mid 2007 iMac. One of the originals is from 2007 and is Upgrade your iMac 20" or iMac 24" aluminum (mid 2007) to 1TB Hard Drive and 4 GB RAM - DIY Guide. As far as migrating your system Apple helps out with that in Setup Assistant which automatically starts when you turn on a new Mac for the first time. After you have installed the new HD you will have to format the new HD to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and then you will have to install OS X. The first time you turn it on Setup Assistant will start. Follow the directions and you will be fine. In order to restore your information you will need to backup what is on the current internal HD first. I'd recommend using Time Machine (Assuming you are using Leopard or later) AND also creating a bootable clone using either SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner.

My hard drive crashed and nothing recoverable, local Apple Store installed a new drive. How can I go back and download the apps I had purchased for my previous configuration, for instance Lion 10.7, and Photoshop Elements 10?
A blank drive needs to be formatted first, you do that hold c boot (or hold option key boot) from the 10.6 install disk (or Lion USB)
