Latest SAP BI release to implement

Hi All,
I am trying to identify the release level for installing new SAP BI system . I understand that the latest release is SAP BI 710 and SP5 .
I have few questions :
1) The SAP ECC is release 700 and Enhancement package 3 . Is this compatible with the latest release of SAP BI?
2) When i see the system information in SAP ECC , The SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0 is showing this information.
Release: 700
Level: 0023     
Highest support : SAPKW70023
Should we implement the same release for SAP BI reflecting in the ECC system ?

go to service.sap.com/PAM and look for latest SAP BW (which I believe is part of NW) and look for ppt attached to it.It should be covering all the compatabilities.
2) When i see the system information in SAP ECC , The SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0 is showing this information.

Should we implement the same release for SAP BI reflecting in the ECC system ?
If you are planning to implement separate BW then ECC version of BW should not matter as you are using ECC just as the source system. As matter of fact I don't even look at ECC BI version.

    Goto service.sap.com -> software download -> sap support packages -> Entry by application group -> Sap Frontend components -> SAP GUI for windows
    In SAP Frontend components you have patches for BI add-on too.

  • Class mx.collections.ISort missing from latest framework Maven release

    Following migration from Flex 3.3, I had to modify one of my class that implements ICollectionView. This interface had changes in its API that require to replace:

    Using FLex SDK 4.5 bundled with FlashBuilder 4.5, my code is compiling just fine. However, when I build my project using Maven, I have the following errors:

    I'm using the latest flex framework release in the Maven Repository:

    mx.collections.ISort interface is missing from the release and definition of mx.collections.ICollectionView is different from SDK bundled and Maven Repo ...
    What can I do ?
    EDIT: There are a lot of other differences between SDK available in Maven Repository and downloadable SDK ...

    Yup. The source files are simply missing from the 4.5 source releases....I'm hitting the same issue when trying to rebuild the SDK with flexcover changes applied.

    Hello,
    If you already have all the templates and such configured then its easy. We don't have ESS and only one MSS scenario. However we support the web environment via BSP HAP_DOCUMENT. You can include our list pages in an Iview and assign that to the ESS or MSS scenario in the portal.
    They also run stand alone, so you can test it as well without configuring the portal.

    I have to update SAP kernel release 6.40 patch level from 43 to 71 but not able to do.I am running solution manager 3.2 on Oracle 9i and Win-2003 OS.

    I have downloaded kernel patch from Path at Service matket place ---<b>Support Packages and Patches" SAP Technology Components" SAP SOLUTION MANAGER" SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 3.2" Entry by Component" SAP Solution Manager-SAP KERNEL 6.40 32-BIT UNICODE-Windows Server on IA32 32bit-ORACLE-
    SAR SAPEXEDB_71-20000254.SAR Kernel Part II (for Basis 640/620)  71</b>
    I followed following Steps:
    1. Copied the patch into a temporary directory on system.
    2. Unpacked the downloded SAPEXEDB_71-20000254.SAR Kernel Part II (for Basis 640/620)  71 patch .
    3. Stoped the SAP System using MMC.
    4. Saved the kernel directory by backup or by copying into a separate backup directory. (\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\sys\exe\run)
    5. Re-started the server.
    After logging again in SAP client 000 on checking found server patch level coming same as previous one .
    Its not got updated and due to this in Tcode- <b>SPAM</b> I am getting error message :<b>'The OCS package SAPKITL318 requires a kernel with Release 640 and patch number 71. The kernel you are currently using has a lower version.'</b>.
    Help!!!!

    I want to know about the SAP ERP Release strategy. upto my knowledge ECC6 is the latest version in ERP.
    Is their any change in installation procedure or environment between 4.7ee and ECC6.

    Hi Vivek,
    The SAP releases newer versions, these new versions has more functionality and features to meet the present business requirements,
    for eg: You dont prefer to work Windows 98 no since you dont have all the additional features what you find in your present windows systems, like ease of use. Similarly SAP needs to come up with new functionality in order to make the client/customer feel comfort in running his business.
    Similarly the installation procedure varies from 4.7EE to ECC5, in earlier versions you have installation tool R3setup which works in slightly different way and GUI screen input options are different.
    From ECC5 we had SAPINST tool where you have more user friendly screen and easy to understand what each feild means and also you can restart the installation from where stopped.
    About maintanence, SAP will  give free support to its cleints for a term i think 5yrs, later there will be additional support for 3 yrs(this has to be paid), and later if still customer wanted support SAP provides for another 2 yrs(the cost is more) and after this SAP doesnot provide any support for that version and the client has to upgrade his software (since client pays for license every yr, which cost him same for older and newer version, its better suggested to get it upgraded)
    Now most of companies has moved to ECC6(due to extensive functionalities of java stack) and many features of SAP work with SAP kernel 620 and above.

    There is wealth of information available on the [Service Marketplace |https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/scm]on the standard visibility scenarios which will probably get you started. Procurement visibility scenario is one of the them and have documentations.
    There are couple of points which are worth knowing that SAP Event Management
    - requires configuration in both application system (ECC) and SAP EM system (SCM)
    - good understanding of the function module (extractors) for sending and posting events
    - well thought supply chain events (design) business would like to monitor and manage
    - reactions to both expected and unexpected events (follow-up activities)

  • Error "Please use the Latest SAP GUI version" in service admin

    I have successfully installed ITS 6.20 & We are using ECC 6.0, But when I try to logon to the Admin service. I gives an error message saying <b>"Please use the Latest SAP GUI version"</b>.Please help me solve this problem.

    several instances of ITS 6.20 have to be mapped either to
    a) different TCP/IP ports or
    b) if the same TCP/IP port should be used they have to have an individual hostname.
    These settings have to be defined correctly in ItsRegistryWGATE.xml.

    u can test the web service from web service test environment,
    to do so u use transaction SOAMANAGER in th epage clikc business adminsitration then web service administration , search by service and giev the service name onc eu get the name of it select the service and click applly selection , under overview tab u have open webservice navigator for selected bindign link and u get the test enviornment on it u have test link click it and u get input paramters fill it and test

    Forgive me for saying, but it means:
    Implementing security which complies with Sarbanes Oxley requirements and takes into account Segregation of Duties.
    SOX and SOD are different things, from a security perspective SOX is generally technical security based and SOD is business process based (although bus proc has big SOX component).
    There is a plethora of information via yahoo/google etc.

    Neither Oracle 8.0 nor 8i were releases on Windows 2003, they won't work and are not released.
    So I'm afraid the only way you can go is Windows 2000.

    I need to know where I can download the latest SAP NW RFC SDK (7.20). According to note 1025361 it should be available for the following platforms I need:
        Windows x86 32-Bit (Versionen: Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7)
        Windows x86_64 64-Bit (Versionen: Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7)
    I followed the path mentioned there

    -> Browse our Download Catalog
    -> Additional Components
    -> SAP NW RFC SDK
    -> SAP NW RFC SDK 7.11
    -> <Plattform>
    -> NWRFC_9-20004xxx.SAR
    But there is no NW RFC SDK download for Windows x86 32bit, only Windows x64 64bit. But I also need the 32bit SDK. Where can I find it?

    I think Windows Server I32 32bit should do it...
