Latest SDK failing to mount? Can anyone help

Hi,
Not sure if this should be in this forum or the developer one. Just bought two lovely new macs for my department at school. One of the key reasons for doing this is to be able to develop apps for iphones and ipads. Unfortunately whenever I try to download the latest SDK (4.3 )+ xcode (3.2.6) from the developer section on the apple website, it gets to about 120mb of a 4+gb download and just stops, with the only message saying 'mounting failed'? I have repaired disk permissions and ensured i am connected by ethernet cabling as opposed to wifi as suggested in one post but still no joy. Can anyone help me.
Oh and dont know if this makes any difference but the mac is currently happily downloading xcode 3.2.4 and the 4.1 SDK with no qualms. The OS of the mac is 10.6.7. Would be really grateful if anyone can give me some suggestions

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Sign out of the Creative Cloud desktop app, restart your computer, run as an administrator, and sign in again. Don't start any other programs.

I think you identified my mistake. I confused tables-charts-graphs. I was wanting a "table" of cells (numbers) to be added to the Pages document. Is there no way to do that and keep the tables linked between Numbers09 and Pages09?
An example would be a Numbers spreadsheet calculating a number (say, a product price) and that number (data) be linked to a product information text in Pages.
I just recently saw the Merge function in Pages, but have not yet learned how that works. I don't use Pages much at all but it would come in handy for creating to information sheets about products --- with the product pricing being updated from a Numbers spreadsheet.
If you have any hints on how that can be done or where I can find info on that I would appreciate it.

Hi Eric, it is Safari but I thunk I've solved it by dragging the autofill into the safari toolbar and clicking on it when I want to use the fearture. Nothing else worked. this OS is a crock as far as I am concerned.

Hi Everyone, im really stuck and not too good with all the tec stuff. My Acrobat 7.0 standard has been working fine for a few years and studdently over the weekend it will not open and gives me the followig error:
"there was an error while loading the plug-in "updater.api". the plug-in failed to initialize"
Does anyone know of any solutions to this problem? Could I uninstall and reiatall or is there an easier way? Apparently although I said 500USD for the product there is no support availabel on the phone unless I upgrade so Im in a bind.
All help would be greathfully accepted.

Hi Imwaves,
I repaired the adobe files through the control panel add/remove program and got it up and running but your experience explains why.
I aldo run avast free software and while I have now scanned the adobe files and there are no virsus there prob was before it was repaired...im now doing a full scan of my conputer.
However as you suggested i did check the virus chest and also found soap.api in there which had been removed on 2nd June. I think the virus tricked avast into removing the soap.api file so as to render the program useless.
At least we have gotten to the bottom of it and hopefully it may help ithers who have experience the same thing. Thanks for your help

Is this what you downloaded: iTunes 10.7?
When the update fails what if any error report do you get, specifically? Please do this before trying again:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

I have had the same problem for the past 10 days. The update fails about 75% of the way through and said that the there is an error in the download of 7.0.6. It has been unsuccessful. I tried to update through ITunes and the download finishes and nothing further happens. There is no error message number, just stating there is an error. I sure would like some help in resolving this problem. The update went just fine for my IPhone5S and my husband's IPhone 5.

Went to update the ipod touch and it wiped out everything , Itunes keeps trying to restore it but fails everytime giving me an error that it cannot see my ipod yet it sees it and tries to restore it everytime i connect the ipod to the pc , the help file suggested i reinstall the latest version of I tunes so i did i tried using different ports on 2 computers and also bought a new connection cable but still won't restore can anyone help?

I have been experiencing a few issues with my macbook, so I popped it into disc utility to verify everything... it identified a few issues that it thought would be sorted if I booted from another drive.
So I booted from my external hard drive, got everything repaired and thought whilst I was there I would give it a defrag. This turned out to be a bad idea.
The defrag failed first time out, so trying not to panic I repaired and tried again and it said it had completed but also provided a device error.
Now the main hd wont load, I get the prohibition sign.
Ive tried booting from the DVD, this identifys the hd in disk utility, (although its greyed out) and allows me to verify and repair... So I try again... prohibition sign once more.
I booted from the DVD and tried to backup from timemachine, this appears to be fine but when I select the drive to backup to the hd doesnt appear...
I attempted a reinstall... but just cant see the hd to install too...
Im running out of ideas! Can anyone help?
Im happy enough to wipe it clean and just back up from time machine... how would i do this?

Your right it wasnt discwarrior, apologies I think it was called disc magic or drive magic (I used my brothers external to boot from so dont know the actual name)it had a graphic of a spinning black disc on a brown (i think!) background with white text swirling around it... sorry to get so esoteric!
Im also unsure about the exact nature of the first failure... I know the defrag failed and it told me to repair the drive again which I did using discwarrior.
When I launch Disk Utility on the Install DVD, It appears that the hd is not mounted, so i assume thats why its unable to install to it, or restore via timemachine to it...
I have a windows 7 bootcamp partition on the drive which is working fine (its what Im working off now)

If you run into the "another installation" message even after the reboot of the PC (which is an excellent idea by HTP ProXy), reregistering your Windows Installer Service is worth a try.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another reinstalll.

Hello mustangcim243,
iTunes has various components bundled with it that it requires for general usage. I advise that we completely remove iTunes and all of these related components, verify that they have been removed, then reinstall. To do so, please follow the steps in this article:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

Note: it is important to remove the 7 components in order. Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
If the above does not resolve your issue, I recommend we reset the SC Info folder:

Try holding down CTRL as you launch iTunes to see if it will repair the drivers.
