Latest settings don't get saved
Hello there,
I installed a new brush, when I quit photoshop and reopen it I find that the brush is gone. It feels like it resets the settings because also if I choose painting workspace it gets me back to typography when I open it next time. I used photoshop for 4 years I didn't have aproblem with this before, I used to open it eveytime and find my last settings, brushes and everything in place in terms of workspace. How can I get it to work like that?
I'd try a few things:
This sounds somewhat like a corrupt .plist issue. In Onyx > Verifying > Preferences, check your preference file syntax. If any of them come up as damaged, try moving them to the trash (don't empty the trash just yet, you might want to put them back), and then restart. If any of them are in your user Library folder (~/Library), note that this folder is hidden by default; to see it, hold down the option key and look in the Go menu in the Finder. Prior to mavericks this was how to fix corrupt .plist file issues. With a restart, a new .plist file was generated. The trouble with this is, Mavericks has changed the way .plist files are handled; they are cached, or more of them are cached, and nobody appears to have figured out how to fix them yet if they are misbehaving. Perhaps someone with more knowledge about this can respond.
Boot into your recovery partition (restart, hold down ⌘R until you see the Apple logo), and use Disk Utility to repair your hard drive. Repair permissions too while you're there. OS X: About OS X Recovery
Try a safe boot (restart, hold down shift until you see the Apple logo). If this eliminates the symptom, then you know the problem is with some third-party software you have installed. Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
Try a test user account: Isolating an issue by using another user account
If none of that is helpful, I suppose I'd reinstall mavericks over the current installation. A shotgun approach, but it often works.

Updates in Notes don't get saved iOS 4.0.1
I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0.1. Some of the time when I make updates in Notes the changes don't get saved while sometimes they do. I did a "restore" in iTunes this morning and magically the changes that had disappeared from Notes before were there again - as if it "remembered" the newest version. But as I continue to use notes - some of the changes stay in the notes - and some disappear. Anyone else have this happening? Any way to fix it?
My brother had this same issue. He would add text to a note and tap Done. He would go out to the list of notes and then reopen the note he just edited to find that the newly added text was not there.
We solved his problem. Hopefully this will help you, too.
We found that after updating his iPhone from OS 3.1.2 to iOS 4, the Notes setting in his Yahoo account in Mail, Contacts, Calendars was enabled. Also, notes were set so they were not stored locally on the phone any longer.
He never stored or synched his notes with his Yahoo account and did not want to begin to do so. In other words, he wanted to keep all his notes stored on his iPhone.
(Notes which existed before he updated the phone's operating system were stored on the phone. For any new notes created after the update, the iPhone was trying to store/sync with his Yahoo account. Apparently, since he did not set up his account to sync notes, the sync was unsuccessful and the iPhone rolled back his change to the notes, thus deleting the text he added. At least, this is my guess as to why this problem suddenly started and why it affected some notes but not others.)
He did not care about preserving the modification date of the problem notes that wouldn't keep their updates, so this is what he did. On his iPhone, he went to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. At the bottom of the screen in the Notes section, he changed the default note location from his Yahoo account to On My iPhone. He quit the Settings app.
In Notes, he tapped the Accounts button and selected his Yahoo account. This displayed nine notes -- the same notes that would not keep their updates. One at a time he copied each note's contents, switched accounts to On My iPhone, pasted the contents into a new note, saved it, and switched back to his Yahoo account to copy another note.
Once he was satisfied that all his content was in new notes and he could save changes in these notes, he switched to his Yahoo account and deleted the nine notes "stored" with that account.
Finally, he went back to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. He tapped his Yahoo account. Then he switched the Notes switch to Off so that notes would not be synched to his Yahoo account. Since doing this procedure, he has not had any problems with notes.
I hope this helps you to at least understand what's going on. The solution was easier to implement than to write out! And, I'm doing this from memory, since this was his iPhone not mine. -

POP by definition doesn't "share" folders. Sent messages from one machine are invisible to another. Messages deleted on one machine are gone, period. IMAP, used by MobileMe and Gmail, may be better for your needs. I don't use Yahoo mail, but I'd be surprised if this weren't "working as intended" (by them, if not by you.)

Premiere pro 2014 cross fades don't get saved or load as saved audio drops???
For no apparent reason premiere pro 2014 will not save cross fades... it saves them but wont load them
Audio is dropping out ....
I was given a project to make some changes to and every time I open it I need to recreate the cross fades and then export it and then check it and then recreate the cross fades that didn't export and then hope for the best!!

Please check this blog post. Updating from Time Machine can cause this issue: Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later).

when I download software updates why do they appear on the desktop (and in devices) and not get saved to the HD (I click install to HD but they don't go there)
Double-click the white Adobe Reader Icon to open a new windows.
Double-Click the "Adobe Reader X Installer.pkg" file inside.
If it has already been installed it will notify you and say that it has been installed already.
If you no longer have those files go here to get the latest version of Adobe Reader.

It sounds to me from researching the other white 'icon' you have that you are trying to install a copier by the brand of Rico Aficio.
Possibly the Aficio 2090/2105.
If so the install CD/Driver download for that copier must have also wanted you to install Adobe Reader to view the User Guides/ Documentation included.
If you are trying to install said device then double click the white icon labeled Ricoh_Aficio...double click the installer file inside of that.
It should run a setup/install window like Adobe Reader did then go from there. If it has already been install also you can go to your System Preferences -> Printers to see if it installed correctly and is working properly.
You can get to system preferences by clicking the Apple icon very upper left on your screen and selecting it from the drop down. -
I have an ipad 2, MC769x it is running 4.3.3 (8j2) i have been trying to upgrade to ios 5 or higher but a) I don't have a software update option on my Settings / General screen. And b) when I go into itunes I don't get tihe options suggested on the forums. I really want to upgrade my ipad as I want to buy and install some apps that are only available from ios5 onwards. I have been a big apple fan but I am now wondering if my ipad2 was a mistake.

I have online editors for our blog and websites for generating articles and blog posts. Different editors from different sites and programmers. Firefox doesn't allow me to use the cut/paste/copy functions with these editors. I get this message or something similar every time. "Your browser security settings don't permit the editor to automatically execute cutting operations. Please use the keyboard for that (Ctrl+X)"

Hi I am currently have a subscription to PS CC but I don't think I have the latest version. I believe this because I don't get the new welcome screen and don't have new features like the structure and color setting in the content aware patch tool. I have checked for updates and it tells me I have the current version. I check in PS I have version 14.2.1. I also have CS6 installed on my PC, could this be somehow be doing something or am I doing something wrong. Would anyone have any suggestions.

Each time I clear the history and use a username only once it gets saved. I do not allow the passwords to be saved but I could not find a way to eliminate the usernames to be deleted. That is a real security issue for me

The setting to turn that on or off does not affect your receiving group texts. Are these group texts from a non-iDevice? Do you have MMS turned on? Many group texts are turned into MMS by some carriers.

My iPad mini says to connect to iTunes, and I try to restore it, but after its done extracting a message comes up saying that device is not found, is there anyway i can fix this? I don't care if i don't get my stuff back, i just want my iPad restored to its starting settings.
If everything else that you try fails, I would try using another computer. Since you don't care about saving any data, any computer that is running the latest version of iTunes might be able to restore the iPad. You could make an appointment at an Apple Store Genius Bar and they can do it for you.
If that isn't feasible for you, try using a different cable, a different USB port. reboot the computer, and reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Then try again. -
How do I get saved photos from my iPod touch to my computer?
Just as the subject says, I don't know how to get saved photos from my iPod touch to my computer. Does anyone have an idea of how to do this? My iPod is currently the latest version.
When you sync your iPod touch it should do all of this automatically. If not, when your iPod touch appears in the iTunes control bar click it and check the settings as it should always take a complete back up. I back mine up to a mac, and when I do it automatically launches iphoto to transfer any images on there. I’m pretty sure that gallery in windows does the same,although you may have to manually transfer them.Or you can consider some iPod transfer softwares.But there are many softwares.I think you may need a transfer software review.I hope it can help you~

HT4167 I can't get the speakers on my macbook to work.
