I am currently using a Nokia 5800 with firmware version v50.0.001.
I have installed the latest Nokia Suite (3.7.22) and it reports that there are no firmware updates available. I tried to find the updates using the Menu->Applications -> S.W Updates as well. This doesn't report any firmware updates either.
But the Nokia India page for 5800 states that the latest version is 60.

Availability of update depends on Product Code / Region. Also, for Network locked devices, update is possible only after an approval from the Operator. Seems oone of these is preventing you from getting the update. As both FOTA nad Nokia Suite is not providing you with the update there is nothing that you can do except asking your local Nokia Care whether they can help you ...

Hi I bought my new Nokia C3-00 mobile yesterday. It is very good in functions, but the problem I felt is that there is no control to adjust the brightness. I searched all over the net and couldn't find a solution. That's why came here to put a suggestion. Why the Nokia people didn't made such a basic function in some phones.
Is any firmware update have this function ?
Also, my phone has version 7.20, RM-614. Nokia now announced that a firmware option 8.63 is available. So I checked for software update directly from my phone using the software updater. It founded a software update and downloaded it. After downloading, it begin to install by restartign the phone, But after restarting, before installing, the message displayed that Unable to Install. Why like this ?I tried it 2 3 times. The same with he case of OVI. Nokia, please consider the needs of customers.

I read that there was a new firmware available for 5800 which is 50.0.005
I tried to get the firmware over the air and was successful in doing so.
I have been checking the nokia support website for software updates for the same product code and see it change from 40 to 30 and back to 40 every few days..
wats up with that??

Song's Format for Nokia 5800 Xpress Music

Hello,
Am new to Nokia 5800 .... and I think that this is some weird problem I am facing ...
I got trannferred some songs through bluetooth (source :- bollywood.com) which are in mp3 format .I have saved the songs in external memory card which I can view in Albums section of Music Library .. Now when I try to play these songs, I can see a small yellow triangle indicating some error ,hence am not able to play these files through Music Library . However if I try to play the same songs from external memory (have to put extra effort to pick each individual song to play)its working fine.
I dont know ,what is the issue or what am I doing wrong ..
Plz help me .

May be the file is poor quality... use OVI suite player to upload. it will work fine

Software Update for Nokia 5800 ---Not Available In...

On the Nokia-Asia Website it clearly states the V31 Firmware update is available, but when i try to Update my phone, it does not pick up that the update is available( i have tried both Nokia Software Updater & Using the phone's updater)
Is this just for Australia,or is there a problem with my phone?

a factory reset in this case would not work becoz u still need the security code to get the reset done...if u dont know what the security code is then u wont be able to proceed with the reset
u will have to take the phone to a nokia care point for assistance from a technician - locations are found by clicking the "contact us" link

1. for optimum connectivity ,your usb cable should be connected directly to the pc
2. if your device has different usb modes please ensure that you select pc suite or default mode

Is your phone connected by direct cable pc to phone .
if your device has different usb modes please ensure that you select pc suite or default mode

Please tell me when we will be

release for Nokia 2700c.

It's highly unlikely that the 2700c will get any further updates. That model is now considered to be old and obsolete.
All you can do is wait and hope or buy a newer model that has the newer operating system on it.

So this is really just a token post to keep my service provider happy (no idea why I have to do all the asking for them when we both already know the answer) but can I please have a confirmation of the latest software versoin for the Nokia 6700 Slide.
On a side note it would be greatly appreciated if you could PLEASE send a copy of the latest version of the software to my carrier (Vodafone Australia) so that they can finally push out the latest version of the software.

v71.004 seems to be the last released update. If the phone is Network branded your device may / may not get this update. Anyway, the update was released long ago.

You can't expect an update for your phone which was launched almost 3 years back. Anyways Symbian is in 'Maintenance Mode' which means no more major updates but only Bug fixes for the devices released much later ..

Not Enough Memory [Nokia 5800 Xpress Music]

Hello,
i have a nokia 5800 xpress music mobile phone.
recently, i've been facing an error while trying to change my ringtone from the profiles
when i tap on the screen on the ringing tone tab in general profile (or any other profile), an pop-up tells me the following "not enough memory to display all ringing tones, only read-only memory tones will be displayed"
then, when i tap again , the ringing tones menu open but for sure not listing all of my music files !!
i thought it's a firmware problem, i updated my 5800 to the latest v30 firmware, but the problem still persists.
please, feed me back

take out your memory card and consider the first two options. make sure you have a back up and read carefully
1. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for ALL operations listed here is 12345
2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone (out of the box, tho keep in mind that most newer nokia phones at least n series, e series and s60 based phones have udp - user data preservation so not ALL data may be lost. still it is a good idea to always do a back up of your stuff.)
3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working.If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. ) For Nokia N97 (unofficial version but works) is SHIFT /SPACE BAR / BACKSPACE while holding the power button. Again do not let go until you see the handshake screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service for assistance.
