Latest update (10.8.3 - 12D78) bug: Can not click on anything.

After the latest update my iMac i7 (3.4ghz, 16GB DDR3) loseS the ability to click on anything on the screen.
Oddly all I can do is right-click, and use the keyboard - except for any elements on screen.
I checked the mouse, and that works fine.
This is more than annoying.
After trial and error, and a quick search, I found that the only way to bring normal functioning back is by sending the machine to sleep then logging back in.
But my question is this, should I use my time machine to go back to before the update?
Does Apple know about this bug - will they fix it?

Ok I will do that and go back.
I have tried shut downs, restarts, etc. with no success.
I did reboot after the upgrade also.
It may be a 3rd party thing, but I really dont have much 3rd party stuff aside from adobe cloud products...

Reset the SMC 2-3 times. Click Intel iMac SMC and PRAM resets for instructions.

Get's stuck, wont work, have to close and reopen all the time. Like the program is frozen, and I can not click on anything.

just started after updating to newest firefox. I will go on my email, check out what's going on and then when I try to click on another email it stops working, and my hand icon gets bright and transparent as if to tell me this program is locked or frozen. I close, reopen, works fine for a few emails, and then does it again. very frustrating. I was fine with the old firefox, can i get it back?

I am having the same problem. I have just tried this. Unplug iphone > open itunes > delete all music from itunes library > close itunes > re-open itunes > add music from original folder > plug in iphone > select songs > press sync > unplug iphone using eject button onscreen > checked phone .... still nothing in music folder on phone. On itunes the "On this iphone" tab the songs remain there but greyed out.

Is this on wifi or cellular data?
Have you tried a reset? Hold down the home/power button until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
Have you gone into the email settings and making sure the password are still there?

Updated iTunes to 10.5, iTunes won't work now! Everytime I open iTunes it just freezes and I can't click on anything. It says to take it out of compatibility mode and still doesn't work! any help??

Okay, we'll try the technique from the following post. Be sure to be logged in to your usual user account when doing so. (Otherwise you'll be editing the wrong set of HKEY_CURRENT_USER keys.)

Ok this worked to solve the error.
Use cmd prompt in windows 7 or 8 and run as admin:
sc config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/nsi
sc config mrxsmb20 start= disabled
No need for all that power shell nonsense as shown elsewhere for windows 8.
That's it. Also force smb2 disabling on the apple side for good measure.
With the above I was able to network mavericks and windows 8.1 pro flawlessly. He issues I had before where I could not read video, ISO and audio files (but could open documents and pictures from the windows machine connected to an apple network share folder went away.

The Adobe auto updater is pretty decent in CS6. Just go to the Photoshop Help menu > Updates.
You will be able to update ACR, Photoshop and Bridge right there, if there are in fact updates available.

If you're not using Software Update (in the Apple menu), use that.
If you are using SU and getting that message, try going to http://support.apple.com/downloads/ and downloading it, then install it.
