Latest update bug

I ran the update for Premiere Pro 2014, and now the project does not contain the main edit sequence I've been working on for months. also, none of the auto-save backups have it either. This is a bug and I desperately need to get to the previous version to retrieve the timeline.
every other edit sequence is there. the one that is missing is called spine AS1_1, which was an incremental change from an older timeline called spine AS1 from months ago which is still there.
help!!!!

Type Tool bug in Photoshop since latest update

Found another annoying bug:
1. Select your type tool and type something
2. Press Shift and click anywhere else on your page
It deselects the text you were working on and activates a new text box. Usually, I press shift and then drag the layer to keep it aligned as I drag the layer...now it acts like I want to create a new text box....sigh.

You are correct but only if you are done typing do you press Ctrl +enter to close the type box. But sometimes, in mid-sentence if you decide you want to move the text box over to the right while you are still working on it, you could have (before the latest update), pressed shift and then just drag the text and then continue typing.
It's not a "huge" deal but it is slightly annoying when you are used to working a certain way and you keep clicking "out" of the text you're working on.

Latest iTunes Update Bugs

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered bugs with the latest update of iTunes. I just updated my iTunes this past weekend when a pop-up window came up as I opened my iTunes. I believe the new update included something new for Quicktime and stated that it fixed old bugs from the last version and mentioned something about iTunes DJ? Well after installing the updates, my new version of iTunes won't do something I considered very convenient before: it won't play the songs from my shuffle through iTunes. I used to go and listen through the tunes I wanted to take off to make space for new ones but now I can't do that anymore. Has anyone else encountered this? Are updates pointless if everything's working fine for you? Seems like every time I fall for an update, it brings me a new bug. Please advise if you know what's up.

I did notice that when I rip a CD using AAC VBR it does not really use VBR. Example if I set itunes to rip MP3 256 kbps it rips anywhere from 256 kbps to 299 kbps. But if I set itunes to rip AAC itunes plus (which has VBR as a default setting) it stays exactly at 256 kbps. It is the same result when I try 128 kbps with both MP3 and AAC. This problem exists on both my PC using Windows Vista and my Macbook using OSX Leopard.

1. Check the cycle count of the battery against the rated life for your model. The battery may be due for replacement. If the power adapter is connected almost all the time, the battery may need replacing even though the cycle count is not too high.
2. Follow these instructions, or these for OS X 10.8 or earlier.
3. In the Energy Saver preference pane, uncheck the box marked
Enable Power Nap while on battery power
if it's shown (it may not be.)
4. You can also try resetting the SMC.
5. Make sure your system is up to date in Software Update.
6. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

Latest update (10.8.3 - 12D78) bug: Can not click on anything.

After the latest update my iMac i7 (3.4ghz, 16GB DDR3) loseS the ability to click on anything on the screen.
Oddly all I can do is right-click, and use the keyboard - except for any elements on screen.
I checked the mouse, and that works fine.
This is more than annoying.
After trial and error, and a quick search, I found that the only way to bring normal functioning back is by sending the machine to sleep then logging back in.
But my question is this, should I use my time machine to go back to before the update?
Does Apple know about this bug - will they fix it?

I have tried shut downs, restarts, etc. with no success.
I did reboot after the upgrade also.
It may be a 3rd party thing, but I really dont have much 3rd party stuff aside from adobe cloud products...

There are no more future updates for iPhone 3G. There is probably a hardware issue with your phone that an update would not fix.

How do I get around this bug: can't open my site after latest update?

I installed the latest update three days ago and have been working on my site up until 11 hours ago. Just opened it to work again and get an "updating assets" message that never ends.
Also since the update my businesscatalyst isn't working when I try to publish: "Query failed"

Office 2013 latest update broke new profile creation on all network computers

Setup details:
We're using samba 3 as our backend and all workstation are Windows 7 Pro x64.
Office 2013 Home and Business Retail (en-us) Click 2 Run version
Context:
Deployed to the whole network of one of our client using the Office Deployement Tool.
We update their base update (no updates) to the latest update 15.0.4569.1508
Everything was working alright after initial Office 2013 installation with no updates. After updating the all the PCs to the latest version as of 31/03/2014, the user profile creation broke for newly created user.
Symptoms and causes:
Trying to log on as a new user on the machine would give the following error on Logon before automatically loging off because it cannot copy the following file to the new user profile:
D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_00.sqm
D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_01.sqm
D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_02.sqm
The Bici folder has Read and Execute permissions for everyone but the _XX.sqm files inside only have permissions (Full Control) for SYSTEM and Administrators and LOCAL SERVICE with the all permissions EXCEPT:
- FULL CONTROL
- TRAVERSE FOLDERS/EXECUTE FILES
- CHANGE PERMISSIONS
- TAKE OWNERSHIP
Solution:
I gave "everyone" Read and Execute permission on those files and the new user could log in and his profile got created alright.
The files with broken permissions time stamp shows they've been modified during the Office 2013 update and Bici seems to be a OneDrive related service. This bug should get fixed ASAP.
Event log error:
Windows cannot copy file \\?\D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_01.sqm to location \\?\D:\Users\TEMP\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_01.sqm. This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.

Alpha Channel in .psd or png not printing correctly after latest update.

Just noticed this yesterday. I've been searching for an answer but to no avail. Let me first say that everything works as expected in CS4. But CS5 fails to print correctly. It looks fine on screen and in print previews. I've tried trashing the preferences etc. I'm running Master suite on Vista 64 bit with dual quad processors and 25 gigs of memory. An HP Z800.
To replicate the problem simply open Photoshop and create a document any size, here we'll do 5 x 7 and set to transparent. Draw on the layer. I used a hard edged brush and made three circles. Saved as a .psd. Open Illustrator make a new document
6 x 8. Rectangle tool draw to fit doc. Fill with default gradient. Now place the photoshop file created earlier. Looks fine on screen but when I print either to our plotters or to our laser printer the problem appears. It happens with many different files. Attached is a scan of one of the prints. You can see where the boarders of the 5 x 7 image are when all you should see is the 3 circles. The alpha is not being read by illustrator correctly when printing. All 3 of our machines running CS5 are exhibiting this behavior. Is anybody else getting this? It's a pretty big show stopper.

I am unable to install the latest update to iTunes, I get constant error messages, even when I attempt to uninstall iTunes completely and start afresh, iTunes is still listed in my program files on my hard drive and the shortcut is still on my desktop!?

It sounds like you are unable to open iTunes after installing a recent update. I would recommend the troubleshooting in the following article:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

Suddenly stopped connecting to any wireless network which is secured, WEP/WPA/WPA2/personal/enterprise all do NOT work.
Connects to unsecured networks just fine.
For example, our wireless password is:
123456890!
I tried with WPA2, no luck.
Tried with WPA2 and pw 1234567890, no luck.
Tried with WPA and pw 1234567890!, no luck.
Tried with WPA and pw 1234567890, no luck.
Tried WEP with 1234567890, no luck.
Tried with NO SECURITY on this wi-fi network, connected right away.
-I did reset PRAM, no luck.
-I deleted from Keychain, no luck.
-I added as prefered network and removed, no luck.
-I added new network location, no luck.
-I removed the Wi-fi network adapter, rebooted, activated, no luck.
-In the mac console logs, all I see are "wlEvent: en1 en1 link DOWN" when I try to connect to my secured wireless network (home or my office or even at a neighbors).
-Wireless diagnostics tell me nothing
-Console logs do not tell me anything
-Warranty is expired and no AppleCare
Seems like a bug to me, even though I have tried with a Netgear, Cisco/Linksys, D-Link router and even tried tethering to a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and iPhone 5, all same problem, says "Connection failed."

Well a password that weak will get cracked in about 6 hours on just about any PC in the area.
Now: LKUY*&T&67NH(*JKÎM<PijriuÎÓyhm8t, that's a real good network password, even a huge botnet would have trouble cracking that. I know because my router was PING flooded by the Flashback botnet and survived.
After OS X is reinstalled over itself to fix it, you might have to do more as it could be a "in user account" issue with a corrupted preference file, bad users permissions or another cause that's not OS X

I can no longer show or delete cookies from my MacBook Pro, since installing the latest update of Safari and Itunes.. Previously, I went to the security tab and clicked on the show cookies option, then opted to delete.. That option has now diappeared and a completely different security tab appears. The tab does not show a cookies option anywhere.

Safari's cookies is broken, either intentionally or it's a bug.
You can search the forums for

and turn up plenty of threads.

Mac OSX SUS - Why aren't the latest updates offered for some software

For instance, on my sus, Quicktime 7.6.4 is the latest version offered for leopard. 7.6.6 is available on Apple's site. Is there actually a 7.6.6 update others can see on their sus, or is this a universal issue - and why aren't the latest updates available?

I just checked my 10.6.3 SUS server at it appears to have that Quicktime 7.6.6 update listed. The size is listed as 68.5 MB and the post date is 03/30/10. My SUS Server Admin interface shows a "Last Check" time of Apr 13, 2010 3:00:00 AM.
I have wiped and reinstalled my SUS server several times dealing with the "missing 10.6.3" updates bug reported many times in these forums so that may be why my server is displaying the Quicktime 7.6.6 update.
