Latest update causes seemingly random crashes
I recently updated to the new version of 2.2. The update seemed to go without a hitch. Within an hour I had my first taste of what was to come. Listening to the ipod music (not a third party app), it just crashed in the middle of a song. It shows the apple icon and reboots. about 8-10 minutes later, it just stops playing and locks up. When manually rebooting the phone, and reopening the ipod, it crashed after the third song. It also does this while watching video(s). Seemingly at random times with NO user interaction. Pandora application rarely gets by 1 or 2 songs now. I now have trouble syncing to the appstore, itunes and mail.
The 3G reception bars now suddenly drop from full to nothing, then back again. The wireless connection is less stable. .......I'm sitting here right now watching the bars go from full to nothing at seemingly random intervals never lasting more than 30 seconds. The phone is just sitting here doing nothing. It seems to me that the crashing/reboot behavior is similar to a memory leak or something similar that can allow the phone to handle so much (I don't know what it could be since it is seems so random, yet frequent) before crashing.
I have restored the phone and tried a new install and have the exact same results. The previous update left me happy if not at least functional. I didn't have any issues as frequent as this. My phone is basically useless now since none of the applications proprietary or not seem to work for long now.
Is anyone having similar issues they could share some secret iphone handshake to make it work again, or has anyone had any luck getting through to tech support? I'm not having any luck there currently.
I suspect its most likely a Java bug.

Latest Update Causes Mail to Crash
I ran "software update" yesterday and now Mail crashes randomly (it NEVER crashed before). I thought is was from previewing messages with "bad" HTML code, but turning off message preview didn't help. Sometimes it crashes while reading new messages, sometimes while composing. There are conflicting approaches to fixing the Mail crash problems: re-install the OS (wth?), delete files in preferences folders, make a new user account, re-install the app. I have been sending a bazillion crash reports to Apple, it would be nice if I knew if other people were having the same issue, if there will be a fix, and what the best approach to fixing the problem should be. For now I will rely on web mail to access the account.

Was this the software update that included updating 10.5.5 to 10.5.6? If so, this issue may have arisen for you either because of two Mail plugins that no longer work or because there are more than one copy of Mail on your Mac. First see:

and then
http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mail_Update
The latter special update will be offered in Software Update, but perhaps only if you make sure to remove any extra copies of the Mail app. The extra copy, is often found in the Previous System folder. Use Spotlight to look for multiple copies.

Podcast latest update causes contstant crash
The latest update to the poor Pocast app has now renedered it unusable, it constantly crashes to the home screen, is there any way to fix this to get it back to its previous terrible self?

Latest update causing iTunes to freeze and crash
Just curious as to why my iTunes keeps freezing ever since the latest update...it's driving me crazy!
Anyone have any ideas? My brain is out of ideas...

IPhoto '11 latest update (9.1.3) crashes during import.....
the latest update of iPhoto '11 (9.1.3) is crashing during import on both my Macbook and iMac.
The crash seems to happen before the event is auto-split, and before the latest import is registered (only a much earlier import shows up in the "Recent->Last Import" collection.
This latest crash on my iMac has left me with an event visible only in the main "Library->Photos" collection, but not in the events list. In this case the thread deleting the photos on the SD card was only partly done as well so I manually removed the remaining already imported but latent photos from the SD card before returning it to my camera.
I cannot auto-split it either (it covers 19 days, with over 1400 photos).
The earlier crash on my Macbook did something similar (it was a partial import of my trip photos and I elected to keep them on the card that time), but I was able somehow to auto-split the one big event despite it not being in the events list and from then on everything seemed to look OK again on that system.
Both crash reports have been sent to Apple.
I may have found a possible workaround by selecting all the photos in the phantom event but via flagging them, then creating a new event from the flagged photos. Kinda hokey but it seems to have eliminated the phantom event at the same time due to the fact photos can only be in one event at a time.
iPhoto did crash one more time during this process though, and I've not yet confirmed if everything's OK since.If both libraries on both machines are crashing while importing the same set of images, then it suggests there's something wrong with one of those images.

Latest update causes problems on iPhone 3
The most recent update for iPhone causes serious problems on my iPhone 3. The screen size is no longer accurate; top or bottom text dissapears. Some apps are no longer useable. The speed of the iPhone dropped down to ridiculous slowness. Has anyone else experienced similar issues, and more importantly, has anyone found a solution? We just got a new Macbook Pro, the iPhone is not connecting, so we cannot remove the latest update. Kind of catch 22...

Latest update of Dreamweaver CC - crash all the time - bye bye Dreamveaver
This is not a bug report, this is a resignation letter.
I have been using Dreamwaver for almost a decade. And now I'm FED UP with the instability and the unreliability of this software.
I have downloaded the latest update and:
1) CPU Hog, Dreamweaver when IDLE sucks from 20% to 80% of my cpu
2) Constant crashes. Crashes here, crashed there at least 15 crashes per day.
3) FTP STILL FULL OF BUGS. Really? 10 YEARS YOU AREN'T BE ABLE TO CODE A RELIABLE FTP?
And stop telling me to delete the cache, check fonts and disable functionalities. THIS IS REDICULOUS.
Like it's rediculous that still there is only a 32 bit version of the software.

I also work on Edit Share & run black magic for displays but at the time of the crash I was RAM previewing some pretty basic animation,

I had the same problem when trying to do the latest update. Took it back to an apple store and it restored first time on a Mac in the shop. Then came home and restored from a back up and put all my stuff back on (never under-estimate the importance of backing up). The shop recommended I re-install I-tunes in case it has got some corrupt data in it, as I know the problem is not my cable as it worked ok with my Nano. So, it should be able to be sorted for you, you need to get it to a Mac. -

Getting seemingly random crashes while running Chrome
This has been happening for a few months. It starts with the tab I'm using in Chrome becoming unresponsive, then the whole browser. When I try to right-click on the taskbar to force quit the application, the taskbar does its 'genie' zooming motion, I click, and everything freezes in place. I then have to hold the power button down to do a manual restart. I normally have at least one other program open at the same time.
I tend to leave my computer (early-2013 MacBook Pro) plugged into the power cable a lot - I don't know if this could affect things. All my software is up to date, and I have anti-virus (Sophos) installed. Sorry I can't give any more specific info - if there's anything that could help, just say.danajmu,
try disabling Sophos to see if that stops the random crashes. If it does, then uninstall Sophos. -
Latest update cause a kernel panic
Yes, I've submitted feedback. I just want to warn people. I let the updater do its thing and restart my system, then go watch TV while it updated. When I came back to turn everything off and go to bed, I have a kernel panic splashed across my 30" Apple Cinema Display. Hold off on doing the updates!!!
Doing a hard shutdown got my system back, but I'm in the middle of a big project, and I don't need to see a kernel panic at 10:30 at night. Let's see...this update caused a kernel panic, one of the last updates hosed Rosetta applications - including Quicken 2007 - until Apple came up with a patch, and one of the updates before that hosed my Airport Extreme until Apple came up with a patch for that.
Seriously??? I've been using Apple products for 29 years. I expect so much better from Apple.I would think you'd wait for spindown then power off the device then unplug.

Latest update causes my computer to crash
i was using my computer the other day and it just shut itself off, when i ran a startup repair to uninstall recently installed files that may be causing the problem, i found the problem had stopped but itunes wouldnt open. itunes claimed that it had missing files and i should reinstall itunes. after going online and reinstalling itunes again it worked, but soon after the drama repeated itself. my computer crashed.
has anyone else experienced this problem? and more importantly how do i fix it so i can enjoy itunes without having to reinstall it everytime?This is an iphone forum, you may want to repost this here..

New 02/26/2013 Update Causes Muse to Crash Upon Opening
The new update for Muse causes the program to crash when I try to open an existing site, or try to begin a new site. This happens using the startup screen, and also the program's "File" pull-down menu. This did not happen prior to the Muse program update on 02/26. PLEASE HELP!

I have the crash report that Apple generates and am happy to send it via email it to the Muse support team upon request. I am using a MacBook with OS X 10.6.8, and running Muse through Adobe Creative Cloud.The AIR team has just released a new update(version 3.6.0.6090 to replace the older 3.6.0.5970) which should fix many of the Muse crashes seen by some users on the mac.

Latest update causing problems with my itunes update on my computer,
Have had to delete itunes on my computer to try to get this update to upload. I cannot even access an earlier version. I have tried everything from uninstalling to cleaning my hard drive and still it will not install.
ITunes update 11.1.4 would not install and I received the following error message.
"The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem".
A temporary solution was to restore my system to a date before the 11.1.4 update was applied.
This worked and I was again able to use iTunes except that synchronisation between iTunes, my iphone and ipad was frustrated. I received an message to the effect that “you need to turn on synchronisation in isync preferences before you can sync contacts and calendars.”
Further research on these boards revealed that this problem too was apparently caused by the Apple update could only be resolved by installing the latest version of iTunes i.e. 11.1.4
Thus a clean install of iTunes 11.1.4 was obviously necessary for complete functionality.

I carefully deleted all of the Apple related programs and folders I could find as suggested.
I had problems deleting Apple Mobile Device Support. I eventually managed it though by variously
using CONT-ALT-DEL to enter Task Manager and then Processes and then halted(ended) any Apple process I was able to find. It eventually deleted but not without a struggle!
I then performed a clean installation as described ensuring I right clicked on the download and selected Run as Administrator.
Itunes 11.1.4 was then installed with no loss of previously downloaded material – books music etc.
Not impressed with this Apple update at all…… a seemingly very cavalier approach to customer care.
