Latest update crashed & restore won't accept my ID?

Hi,
I've been on IOS7 for a few months now. Itunes just notified me of an update so I went ahead and did the download as usual now all **** has broken loose!
An error occured on the upgrade and couldn't complete the reboot so now I have to restore. No problem, I'm all backed up on icloud but now it does the factory restore and says it's registered to *****@****.com. Yes that's me...but it wont accept the password no matter what I try!
Apple says remove the device from icloud so it starts as a fresh device...done...nope, still comes up with my user ID but wont take the password so I'm left with a completely working yet useless device!
Please can anyone help?!!!

Thanks Diesel but I was told to remove the device from icloud so on reboot it would act as a brand new phone so now it won't find anything in my icloud cause it's gone!
This is the second time my Apple ID has screwed up, luckily last time my phone didn't crash but i had to create a whole new ID losing all my previous stuff.
Beginning to dislike apple right now!
Any other ideas?

  • Latest Revel IOS update crashes and won't install

I have been using Revel v 2.3.1-548 on iPhone 5 and iPad 3 without any issues. An update was released today (29 June) and this won't install and crashes the app on both devices so I have had to go back to the old version. Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks.  That worked to restore the previous version from iTunes backup.

    Thank you.

I found the answer just after posted this.  Thanks to a user named CloudWalker.  Solution is to go in AppStore, View Account under "Store" Menu and unhide any purchases.

  • Trying to update final cut, won't accept my serial number

    WHAT THE--??
My copy of Final Cut is legit, but I'm running 5.1.4. I need to update, but it won't accept the serial number. The version isn't originally registered to me (someone gave me one of their installs), but my copy is. Has this happened to anybody else?

    apologies,
I have gone on the FCP update page on the apple website. It asks for the serial number: when I enter the serial number that is displayed on the "about final cut pro" window, I am told that the serial number does not exist. This has happened at least a half dozen times. I have entered it exactly. I am running 5.1.4.

  • I-phone 5 crashed durning software update.  Now won't accept backup password.

Just tried to update software on i-phone 5.  A backup was made.  Something crashed durning update and my only option to move forward was to restore the phone to the original settings.  Now it won't accept my password to reload the backup; however, the password works elsewhere.

Boot from your system install DVD, run Disk First Aid from your Disk Utility and repair your permissions.

  • After the latest update my ipad2 won´t restart

I downloaded the latest update and since then my ipad won´t reboot. I get stuck at the apply symbol with the bar showing 1/4 of the update being installed. any ideas how to solve that?

    Hello Katharina,
I would be be concerned too if I was not able to update my iPad.  I recommend following the steps in this article for an issue like this:

  • Slate 8 pro latest update crashed

    HI all,
I am using an HP 8 Pro 7600el (Italian version) that I had upgraded to KitKat by downloading the update.zip from HP Web site (version 1.01.01)  and installing it from recovery image.
Everything has gone fine for a few months up to yesterday when Android told me an update was available.
I launched the update, at reboot, after some time while the tablet kept crunching, the update failed with a generic "Update Error".
I rebooted the tablet and Android started but all the applications, including Android native ones, keep crashing (tons of "app XXX has stopped" popups).
To fix the problem I've already tried:
    - Cleaning the cache from boot recovery menu: not fixed
    - Restoring factory settings from boot recovery menu: not fixed (Now the tablet keeps giving "app has stopped" messages and also the Startup WIzard App crashes)
    - Installing the latest update.zip I had on the SD: failed 'cos update.zip is an older version than the current one
I have tried downloading the latest update.zip (1.01.01) from HP Web Site but it is not available.
I can see 3 possible options, 2 are JellyBean versions, the third and more recent one which should be KitKat only shows a null pointer.
I've tried downgrading to the latest JellyBean but I get an "assert error" and the process stops.
    Can someone please:
    - Tell me where I can find the latest KitKat image for the tablet?
    - Suggest any other way to restore the tablet?
    Thanks for your help
    Paolo
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi,
have managed to fix the tablet on my own.
Will give just a quick update in case someone else is interested/had the same issue.
Luckily I still had available the "update.zip" with the KitKat image I had originally downloaded from HP web site to update the tablet.
The "update.zip" could not be installed directly from the recovery boot environment due to the tablet having a more recent software version installed.
I noticed though the the "update.zip" contained, among other things, a "recovery.img" file containing the recovery boot partition image.
The  fixing process was the following:
    1) connect the tablet to PC via USB and boot in recovery environment
    2) use the "fastboot" protocol and "fastboot.exe" application from Google to completely empty the "Recovery", "System" and "User data" partitions. Also recovery partition must be erased 'cos it seems the recovery environment stores somewhere the information about the latest installed version and thus prevents "update.zip" to be installed.
    3) reboot the tablet that not having any valid system or recovery to boot from will enter the emergency boot mode
    4) using "fastboot" protocol, flash "recovery.img" from "update.zip" into the "recovery" partition
    5) reboot in  "recovery" mode.
    6) from recovery mode install the KitKat image "update.zip" using the "sideload" method. This time it works 'cos the recovery environment has no information about previously installed SW versions.
    Best Regards
    Paolo

  • Latest updates now mail won't open

Down loaded the latest updates today now mail won't open??

Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, reinstall any updates that may not have been installed properly. It may also be necessary to reinstall the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you’re using, unless this is the version of Mac OS X that came with your computer:
Mac OS X 10.3.9 Combo Update
Security Update 2007-003 for Mac OS X 10.3.9
Take a look at the following articles for guidelines on how to properly install system updates:
    Troubleshooting installation and software updates
    Installing software updates
Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk before installing the update, no applications should be running while installing it, and you may experience unexpected results if you have third-party system software modifications (not normal applications) installed.

  • Latest update failed, computer won't even start up

Downloaded the latest update (don't know which one, it was just a few days ago; system update and iTunes). The update failed and locked up. Upon shutdown, the computer will not start up. All that comes up is the grey apple and the spinning circle of lines (for hours). It's a 3 month old 27" quad-core iMac. I have tried starting up from the DVD and re-installing the system, but it fails saying there are essential files that it can't install. Disk Utilities says that it appears the disk is fine. Repair permissions had an error that it couldn't fix. Also, tried resetting PRAM. Disk Warrior DVD didn't start it up. Do you have any suggestions? I am not Terminal savy. Thanks.

    G'day Blaise,
Do you have a Time Machine (or other) backup of your System from just before the update?
If so, then you can boot from the installation DVD, and then select ["Restore System From Backup"|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/15638.html].
If not, then you may be forced to Erase your disk and fully reinstall OS X using the installation DVD. Follow [these instructions|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3910] if you wish to do that. (Note that it will delete your data).
    Cheers,
    Rodney

  • IMac update crashes computer won't start anyone else having this issue?

The latest update keeps causing my iMac to restart over and over the first word that comes up when it begins to restart is "panic" I'm guessing that's not a good sign!
I'm disgusted that there is no 24hour AppleCare service available, what am I supposed to do until business hours tomorrow. Not good enough Apple!

If you can't boot in the usual way, try a safe boot. During startup, you’ll see a progress bar, and then the login screen, which appears even if you normally log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions. Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is on a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. If you're able to boot, launch the Console application in any of the following ways: ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.) ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens. ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid. Select the most recent panic report (with a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic") under the heading System Diagnostic Reports on the left. If you don't see that heading, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Post the entire contents of the report — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header and body of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don't post any other kind of diagnostic report, such as a hang report.

I am trying to activate Photo Stream in the ICloud Settings.  It says I need to update IPhoto, which I have done (9.4.2 update), which I have done. It still won't accept me checking it.  What am I missing? Just trying to get current with Photo Strream capabilities.

No idea unless you tell us what you have done
Basically you log into iCloud in the system preferences and then turn on PhotoStream in the iPhoto preferences - the FAQs, instructions and trouble shooting hints are here  --  http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/

  • Help-About proves I have Firefox 3.6.24 installed [not latest version as it won't accept key plugins] - but I keep getting requests to update to the same version, 3.6.24 - can you advise?

I have 'When updates are found, ask me what to do' selected in Options-Advanced, and I am getting daily this box saying, Update to 3.6.24 even though I'm already using it.

If files already have been downloaded then remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.
You can also delete active-update.xml and possibly updates.xml (stores the update history).

  • Email Update/Crash Restore Issue

Last night I tried installing the update to the BB email setup which resulted in my system crashing and requiring me to reinstall OS 6.0 & restore from backups. A few problems though and I'm hoping someone can help.
The reinstall / restore worked semi OK but it didn't replace all of my databases, specifically the Password Keeper database AND my previously installed & purchased apps. Is there any way to recover this information?
I've got the email "receipts" for my purchases and would like these items restored.
I should note that I am running on Mac OS-X 10.6, using a BB Bold 9780 which has OS 6.0 Build 1879
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Update:
After another agonizing 3 hours on the phone with Rogers techs, customer service etc. they now recognize that I have a legitamate issue. Now they want to give me a "refurbished" phone. No way !! Mine's 6 weeks old and though broken, I expect a new one in return at a minimum if not an upgrade to a 9800 for all my trouble. 3 days of dodgy email, no calendar, lost client data, meeting notes, work productivity and they act like they're doing me a favor with a refurbished unit ?
To anyone reading this, AVOID Rogers like the plague. They're the most expensive, worst customer service attatude (though a few do honestly try but they're the minority), treat existing customers like walking ATMs and blatantly refuse to accept responsibility for supporting their network or the handsets they carry. If it wasn't for the huge penalty involved, I'd cancel with them in a heartbeat !!

  • Just installed the latest update, now iTunes won't launch

    Hi,
iTunes was running perfectly fine, but wouldn't let me access the iTunes store until I installed the latest software update (9.0.2 or something like that). The software installed successfully, but now iTunes won't open. When I click on the icon in the dock, it bounces once, then nothing happens. I also tried opening iTunes through the Applications folder, and still nothing happens. I've also tried ctrl-clicking on music files and choosing "open with iTunes" and still nothing. It doesn't give me an error message or anything, it simply doesn't do anything. I just want to listen to my music! Does anyone have any advice?

Of course, immediately after posting this, I looked through the board again and discovered another topic on the exact same question. The answer was that I needed to update my software to version 10.4.11. I did that, and iTunes opened just fine.
