Latest update creates some issues

I just got the new update and now I notice a couple new features which is causing both the 4G and wireless indicators to be on at once. Why am I using both services at once? Is there a fix?

I understand your concerns regarding the signal indicators after the software update. I have a Galaxy S3 as well and my indicators went to normal when I disabled the Caller Name ID application. Follow these steps: Settings>Application Manager>All>Caller Name ID>Disable. Keep us posted.

HT4623 iPhone latest update creates issue for my iPhone 4

After updating my iPhone 4 with the latest update software, I had been experiencing lagging, hang during phone calls, hang before picking up calls (which leads to unanswered calls), total hang in software that makes even hard restart difficult. What's happening?

Another option is to perform the update via iTunes instead. You need the space to download the update and if you don't have the space, you can't update over the air.
If you connect your phone to your computer, you can back it up (manually) onto the computer with iTunes then perform the update and it should all come back fine. I've found that sometimes it's even faster doing it that way.

Latest Update has major ISSUES!!!!

Is it just me or does the latest update of Skype comes with lots of major issues???
1. It is ridiculously SLOW compared to all previous versions!
2. Sending "pasted" (CTRL+V) screenshots simply DOESN'T work!
3. Sending attached files simply DOESN'T work!
There are other issues, but those are the main ones I have experienced for the past few weeks!
My whole Skype experience has never been worse!
Anyone else having these issues too...?

IE is not just a browser - it includes a number of additional thing, one of which is an ActiveX control to display web pages inside other applications. It will be this that Skype uses to display the home page, and to manage internet file transfers.
The capabilities of this control reflect the capabilities and settings of the currently-installed IE browser, so if you have websites blocked in IE, or an outdated version, then this will affect the instance of this control that is running within Skype.
This is a fairly standard way of dealing with HTML rendering, and is not unique to Skype.

Latest update network connectivity issues

I updated the Apple TV with the latest update. Now every time it comes out of sleep mode it requires a restart to connect to iTunes.
It's wired direct to an AirPort Extreme

Latest update causes some videos to goof

I'm running XP. During system startup yesterday I allowed an update to be installed. Now some of the live video sites I frequent keep folding and unfolding vertically like an accordian. Turning off hardware acceleration has no effect. I would like to revert to the last previous release. How can I do so?

My Antivirus is Norton Security Suite.
As a further test, I went to zaplive.tv using ie 8 and the playback worked ok (unlike firefox). However, I noticed another oddity, if I used the "About" option in the player context menu, it takes me to an Adobe page that says my player version is 10,0,22,87 (not 9.X object version number that shows up in the browser Add-on manager).
I also tried disabling the shockwave flash object 9.x, and then ie wouldn't load the video in question. Disabling it for ie had absolutely no affect on playback in Firefox, so it is difficult to believe that updating ie is going to fix firefox. I worry that then not only will firefox still have issues, but ie might also stop working.
So I hope we can undo this update if things get worse.
Also I do not find my video GEForce MX 4000 GPU listed on NVidia's site of GPUs supporting Flash acceleration. My video driver is the most current one they have. I've always thought hardware acceleration was working and active in both ie and Firefox.

Since the latest update to OX I have been unable to download the contents of some emails because pages does not support the font they are created in. Is there a fix for this?

Hi, since I installed the latest update on my Mac I have been unable to open the contents of some emails because it is saying that pages does not recognise the font. For example it is saying 'some features aren't supported, the font Calibri isn't available on OS X. It was replaced with TrebuchetMS' This means that I cannot open letters from my daughters school. Is there any way round this other than getting rid of this nightmare MAC and going back to Windows!?

Had the same problem; would have been nice if they had told s that we need an intel processor on our older Macs! I am up and running again.

Latest update issues

Since downloading the latest update I have been experiencing these issues:
Calendar events take a few seconds to upload. All events disappear, then reappear.
Often loose connection to cellular network. Only solution is power off and restart phone. Never experienced this before.
Predictive text is now too predictive- even when spelling words correctly, after hitting space bar word gets changed.
The most frustrating is losing network connection. I will have full bars signal, but no 3G or e. Cannot receive/make calls, texts or email while the phone is in this state. Happens all the time with no apparent cause.
When I uploaded the new software, I did a reset for my phone. Returned it to its factory settings and did not upload the backup.
Is this Apple's way to force their new iPhone 4 on me?
It would be more frustrating surely given its antenae issues...

Well, I went to the Apple store and they gave me a new phone. I had asked for one that did not have the latest update after hearing from the floor staff that the 3G phones were experiencing problems with the update.
They couldn't find one without the latest update, but they assured me it should solve the issues with Calendar and "cannot activate cellular network" and once Apple releases another update, I should be golden.
The issues promptly started again while I was standing outside of the store.
Then, last night I see the 4.1 update had been released. I downloaded it.
No dice.
Please, Apple make your updates work for your products.
Why not just create updates for model?

Are there any known issues with the latest update to iTunes on Windows 7 maxing out the processor and nearly bringing the system to a hault.

Has anyone experienced an issue with the latest update to iTunes (11.2.0.115) for Windows where iTunes pegs out the processor at 97%, 98%, and holds there for maybe 15 minutes before dropping to 50%. During that time, the system is basically useless. You just have to ride it out. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium.

Having issues playing videos after the latest update

After the latest update for ITunes, I am having issues with some of my videos. Some of my videos will play while others in attempting to play them will play back choppy, at times the picture will freeze and then all at once the video will start fast forwarding to catch up to where it should be, and then at other times the video will cut out intirely, the screen will be completely black without the control areas in the top right corner or the center of the bottom of the screen even being visible.
Have been unable to watch a large number of my TV series, and movies.

Try playing videos directly in Quicktime:
1.) Open Quicktime
2.) Click File > Open File
3.) Navigate to your iTunes folder
4.) Movies are in iTunes\Movies\, TV in iTunes\TV Shows\, podcasts in iTunes\Podcasts
5.) Select a video and open it
6.) Watch in awe as Quicktime plays it perfectly, full screen option is in the View menu BTW.
iTunes 10.7.0.21 is a disaster.

MBPR wifi issues after latest update to 10.9.2

Hi all,
After the latest update to 10.9.2 my Macbook Pro Retina (1st gen) seems to be having issues re-connecting to wi-fi after I wake it up from sleep. Although I've read stories about wifi-issues with the retina line in general, I've been lucky enough to have mine run pretty smoothly so far. That is until the latest update ... for some reason, this happens EVERY time i close and open my laptop.
And yes, it's a easy fix. Usually all i need to do is to turn off wifi and turn it on. But it's getting slightly annoying having to do that every time.
Has anyone else had this issue? and are there by any chances a solution for this problem?

Issues downloading the latest update

For some reason, I am unable to download the latest update. I get to 98% completed install but get a message that the update failed as it was interupted. I have tried on many occasions and always the same issue

Open GL issue after latest updates: Missing GL version

Having issues with OpenGL after latest updates to OSX and Safari. iTunes will not display cover art and Angry Birds responds glewInit failed: Missing GL version. The is a Mac Pro with 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1.7.
Anyelse seen this? How is this fixed?

Final chapter in this saga for anyone else who experiences this.......run reparPermissions against your disks prior to upgrading. After having to rebuild the boot disk a couple of times and upgrade, had no problems with 10.7.4 but would always get Missing GL Version after Safari update. Ran DiskUtil and repaired permissions prior to Safari update and finally got it to pdate without causing GL issue.
Still working on how to not need to delete my previous backups when rebuilding machine (apparently TimeMachine always tries to create a new back sparse folder and thus may waste original space from your previous backups).
Thanks to A Brody for the suggestion about repairing disk permissions!

MacBook Pro 2009 problems after latest update. Anyone else got the same issues?

A couple of nights ago I decided to update my MacBook Pro to the latest version/update. It all went fine, I installed them, rebooted it and logged into my account as usual.
Then it all started, my finder/spotlight slowed down by atleast 50%, my videofiles both .mkv and .avi started acting funny on searching and playing generally.
I then decided to go surf some on the web(safari), it went fine for the first minute. After that it didn't work at all, pages wouldn't start loading at all, and I had to quit the Safari.app and reboot it to even get the thing to work.
Is there anything I can do about this, or to rephrase: is there anyone else with the same issues?

"I updated it to the latest update" as in taking the updates that was given. I'll "explain" some more: The macbook in question didn't have any new updates in atleast the last 1,5 months, as I've been working 14h++ a day with the same things and didn't really have the time to update before the 22.March. Sorry for not stating the obvious before now, but got kinda frustrated and didn't really think thorough the question, but I'm going to try give the most information I can possibly find!
I installed these updates 22. march:
iTunes(10.2.1)
Mac OS X Update Combined(10.6.7)
iWeb Update(3.0.3)
AirPort Utility(5.5.2)
After that update my video playback started getting harder and harder, I could watch .mkv files but I'd get more and more errors or even playback stops. The macbooks performance in finder did also start slowing down.
The following updates was installed 2 June:

iTunes(10.2.2)
Snow Leopard Font Update(1.0)
Security Update 2011-002(1.0)
Java for Mac Os X 10.6 Update 4(1.0)

after that update my safari stopped working properly and my playback of videos got even worse than they got after my updates the 22. March. Included with these things my finder/spotlight started getting slower and slower, until it got to where it is now with files loading atleast 50% slower than before.

I did not use the repair permissions before 3. June(fter the latest security update)
I simply installed the updates and got prompted with the restart from the updates, followed it and then logged in after the updates was finished with the configuring.
I have now repaired and verified the permissions, and can't seem to find any difference in the performance of my macbook.

The latest Java update breaks some vital applications

The latest Java update breaks some vital applications. I have reverted back to 7u45. But now, every time a java applet is used, the "later", "block", "update" window appears and stops the applet from loading. I must have this older release. Oracle does not throughly test their updates. Note: the apps the update breaks are actually Oracle apps.
I have checked the "do not ask again until next relesse" box every single time. Worthless.
Is there a way to stop Java version checks? I even have the box deselected for check for updates; ignored by OS X. I WANT CONTROL! Stop checking!
Ideas?

We are facing the same issue. We suggested all out customers not to install the updates Java 7u65 or 8u11 until there is a workaround or fix.
The wrong look & feel is causing the following problems:
- Either icons or text can be display on a button. Currently the majority of buttons are displaying an icon. Therefore the workaround is to set the text at least.
- Scroll-bars are displayed within all cells of a table column. The circumstances are not clear when these scroll-bars are displayed.
