Latest update issue in language

My phone, Passport, was updated with 10.3.2.440 version, but I found out there were no "pinjin" input option in Tranditional Chinese Front. This option was exsiting in previous version with wording prediction and suggestions. For Pinjin input option in Tranditional Chinese fronts, it is widely use in Taiwan and HongKong. The school is teaching "pinjin" as a tool for wording input. Please kindly put this option back in the manual. Thanks,Aaron

Latest update issues

Since downloading the latest update I have been experiencing these issues:
Calendar events take a few seconds to upload. All events disappear, then reappear.
Often loose connection to cellular network. Only solution is power off and restart phone. Never experienced this before.
Predictive text is now too predictive- even when spelling words correctly, after hitting space bar word gets changed.
The most frustrating is losing network connection. I will have full bars signal, but no 3G or e. Cannot receive/make calls, texts or email while the phone is in this state. Happens all the time with no apparent cause.
When I uploaded the new software, I did a reset for my phone. Returned it to its factory settings and did not upload the backup.
Is this Apple's way to force their new iPhone 4 on me?
It would be more frustrating surely given its antenae issues...

Well, I went to the Apple store and they gave me a new phone. I had asked for one that did not have the latest update after hearing from the floor staff that the 3G phones were experiencing problems with the update.
They couldn't find one without the latest update, but they assured me it should solve the issues with Calendar and "cannot activate cellular network" and once Apple releases another update, I should be golden.
The issues promptly started again while I was standing outside of the store.
Then, last night I see the 4.1 update had been released. I downloaded it.
No dice.
Please, Apple make your updates work for your products.
Why not just create updates for model?

Itunes - Latest update issues????

I noticed this morning on my way into work, since updating my iTunes I now have duplicate playlists and artist on my iPod.
Both are artists that I've added new albums to since the update.
Will restore solve this?

ITunes keeps crashing with latest update when I try to sync my iPad and iPhone. No issues syncing my ATV's. Any suggestions?

In fact, when I am in iTunes and click on either my iPad or IPhone it shows the sync options and ten within 10 or so seconds iTunes gets the "closed unexpectedly" error message. Very frustrating....updated to latest iTunes version yesterday, and this issue started today. Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Latest update has now produced issue with Car Stereo

I eventually got round to updating my iPhone 3g with latest software 4.2.1 this week and apart from the already reported issue of apps now lagging badly everything else seemed fine.
That was until i connected my iPhone to my Alpine iDA-X305 head unit which it has never had a problem with, now phone connects head unit will see phone and allows me to scroll through my play-lists or albums but no the songs although show on HU display the songs no longer actually play & you cannot fast forward or rewind either.
I saw the update notes did mention that it included optimisations for HU USB connectivity but i wouldn't call this an optimisation!!
My friends HTC droid phone still works and my old Iphone Nano still works so i know HU is still functioning ok.
Has anyone else experienced this?
It seems to me that now newer models are out the older generation phones either by mistake or deliberate move have more & more problems with each new update.

Issue resolved, sold iPhone and now using Android smartphone.
Works perfectly with all my audio devices and so much faster than iPhone should have done this much earlier

Are there any known issues with the latest update to iTunes on Windows 7 maxing out the processor and nearly bringing the system to a hault.

Has anyone experienced an issue with the latest update to iTunes (11.2.0.115) for Windows where iTunes pegs out the processor at 97%, 98%, and holds there for maybe 15 minutes before dropping to 50%. During that time, the system is basically useless. You just have to ride it out. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium.

Having issues playing videos after the latest update

After the latest update for ITunes, I am having issues with some of my videos. Some of my videos will play while others in attempting to play them will play back choppy, at times the picture will freeze and then all at once the video will start fast forwarding to catch up to where it should be, and then at other times the video will cut out intirely, the screen will be completely black without the control areas in the top right corner or the center of the bottom of the screen even being visible.
Have been unable to watch a large number of my TV series, and movies.

Try playing videos directly in Quicktime:
1.) Open Quicktime
2.) Click File > Open File
3.) Navigate to your iTunes folder
4.) Movies are in iTunes\Movies\, TV in iTunes\TV Shows\, podcasts in iTunes\Podcasts
5.) Select a video and open it
6.) Watch in awe as Quicktime plays it perfectly, full screen option is in the View menu BTW.
iTunes 10.7.0.21 is a disaster.

MBPR wifi issues after latest update to 10.9.2

Hi all,
After the latest update to 10.9.2 my Macbook Pro Retina (1st gen) seems to be having issues re-connecting to wi-fi after I wake it up from sleep. Although I've read stories about wifi-issues with the retina line in general, I've been lucky enough to have mine run pretty smoothly so far. That is until the latest update ... for some reason, this happens EVERY time i close and open my laptop.
And yes, it's a easy fix. Usually all i need to do is to turn off wifi and turn it on. But it's getting slightly annoying having to do that every time.
Has anyone else had this issue? and are there by any chances a solution for this problem?

VPN issues following latest update

Since the latest update in the o/s on February, my IPAD and IPHONE will not allow web pages to be opened once my VPN has connected. I have spoken many times to the VPN provider and they say it is Apple's o/s update that is the problem. The VPN works fine on my laptop. Why is it that no one seems ables to fix this very sensitive issue? As someone who uses their VPN daily, I miss the service very much.

Same issue here. Vpn does not work on the ipad with ios updated but works fine on the older version ios.
Been several weeks now. Would be good for apple to fix this!!!!!!!!!

Issues downloading the latest update

For some reason, I am unable to download the latest update. I get to 98% completed install but get a message that the update failed as it was interupted. I have tried on many occasions and always the same issue

Latest Update has major ISSUES!!!!

Is it just me or does the latest update of Skype comes with lots of major issues???
1. It is ridiculously SLOW compared to all previous versions!
2. Sending "pasted" (CTRL+V) screenshots simply DOESN'T work!
3. Sending attached files simply DOESN'T work!
There are other issues, but those are the main ones I have experienced for the past few weeks!
My whole Skype experience has never been worse!
Anyone else having these issues too...?

@cdgo - I can't answer your question about the cloud, but I think I can offer some idea about the need for IE.
IE is not just a browser - it includes a number of additional thing, one of which is an ActiveX control to display web pages inside other applications. It will be this that Skype uses to display the home page, and to manage internet file transfers.
The capabilities of this control reflect the capabilities and settings of the currently-installed IE browser, so if you have websites blocked in IE, or an outdated version, then this will affect the instance of this control that is running within Skype.
This is a fairly standard way of dealing with HTML rendering, and is not unique to Skype.

After latest updates keep getting extension issues

After updating with the newest updates today, we have been having to repair permissions to mount a firewire disk. It seems we keep getting messages that certain extensions are not loaded or installed properly. Ths is firewire to HP print drivers to plugins/Mach.kext was installed improperly. Anyone else having this issue. I have already repaired permissions twice and this is still happening-yes I restarted using command R and repaired permissions that way.

Sorry, as I said before, everything was running just fine no errors - nothing until I updated thru APPLE the latest updates, which included HP printer updates for the remote printers, security update, and a couple others, but thru APPLE. The system itself is only a few months old as the hard drive had been totally wiped clean and the new system installed at that time.
SO if Apple is incapable of updating properly as suggested what should a person do. Now as to the backups, since this computer is strictly a shooting computer the only thing that ever needs backing up are the raw files that are shot. That is done by using the two other internal drives.
MacKeeper is not on this computer, in fact only MacScan is on this computer and it is up to date. Now I do have MacKeeper on two other computers and I do not have this problem like you are saying I should be.
Also as I said, I restarted the computer using the command -R and going into the repair permissions then into repair disk, more then once, actually three timesback and forth until nothing at all came up in permissions as being wrong and the disk repair went quickly. After all of that, there were no more errors.
So if repairing permissions does nothing as you indicate and DU only repairs the directory, I should have accomplished nothing, but it did and after 4 days I can say those errors are no longer popping up causing application issues loading. I would assume since nothing is automatically started these applications are system oriented.
I have been diagosing and repairing my own Mac's since 1988, but until these new systems with the everything known to mankind intergrated, I never had these problem whichis why I came to this forum to see if anyone has been having the same problem, obviously not.
Now while it might be really nice to back up your hard drive every week or so ifnot every other day, the size and magnitude of such a job is more then most people should deal with. Apple had a great little app a few years ago that you could tell exactly what you wanted backed up, now you need to backup the entire hard drive. Now to be honest, I do not keep all my eggs in one basket nor do we have just one computer doing everything. Each older computer gets a job, different hard drives have their own jobe to do. I do not trust hard drives so everything of importance goes on CD - DVD or now BluRay. Since the first days of CD's I have had only one failure to be able to read, that was because somehow the DVD became scratched. Since I keep two computers on OS9, I still can read my first CD's. I can not say the same for the few SCSI drives I still have around.
What I have seen is that most people have too many conflicting applications on their computers, that generally causes the problems you have talked about. Running permissions every week or two is one of the smartest ideas ever from Apple.
But back to my original problem that I no longer have, these errors directly a result from upgrading thru Apple should not be happening to anyone.

Highlight text issue in latest update

Hi,
The latest update is great and I run it in iPad 3 and iPhone 5.
However you can longer highlight individual words or text. You can only highlight full sentences.
The markers at the left and right cannot be moved closer to each other isolate a word or two, they just highlight the current sentence.
Is this a known issue?

Open GL issue after latest updates: Missing GL version

Having issues with OpenGL after latest updates to OSX and Safari. iTunes will not display cover art and Angry Birds responds glewInit failed: Missing GL version. The is a Mac Pro with 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1.7.
Anyelse seen this? How is this fixed?

Final chapter in this saga for anyone else who experiences this.......run reparPermissions against your disks prior to upgrading. After having to rebuild the boot disk a couple of times and upgrade, had no problems with 10.7.4 but would always get Missing GL Version after Safari update. Ran DiskUtil and repaired permissions prior to Safari update and finally got it to pdate without causing GL issue.
Still working on how to not need to delete my previous backups when rebuilding machine (apparently TimeMachine always tries to create a new back sparse folder and thus may waste original space from your previous backups).
Thanks to A Brody for the suggestion about repairing disk permissions!

MacBook Pro 2009 problems after latest update. Anyone else got the same issues?

A couple of nights ago I decided to update my MacBook Pro to the latest version/update. It all went fine, I installed them, rebooted it and logged into my account as usual.
Then it all started, my finder/spotlight slowed down by atleast 50%, my videofiles both .mkv and .avi started acting funny on searching and playing generally.
I then decided to go surf some on the web(safari), it went fine for the first minute. After that it didn't work at all, pages wouldn't start loading at all, and I had to quit the Safari.app and reboot it to even get the thing to work.
Is there anything I can do about this, or to rephrase: is there anyone else with the same issues?

"I updated it to the latest update" as in taking the updates that was given. I'll "explain" some more: The macbook in question didn't have any new updates in atleast the last 1,5 months, as I've been working 14h++ a day with the same things and didn't really have the time to update before the 22.March. Sorry for not stating the obvious before now, but got kinda frustrated and didn't really think thorough the question, but I'm going to try give the most information I can possibly find!
I installed these updates 22. march:
iTunes(10.2.1)
Mac OS X Update Combined(10.6.7)
iWeb Update(3.0.3)
AirPort Utility(5.5.2)
After that update my video playback started getting harder and harder, I could watch .mkv files but I'd get more and more errors or even playback stops. The macbooks performance in finder did also start slowing down.
The following updates was installed 2 June:
Safari(5.0.5)
iTunes(10.2.2)
Snow Leopard Font Update(1.0)
Security Update 2011-002(1.0)
Java for Mac Os X 10.6 Update 4(1.0)
iDVD 7.1.1 Update(7.1.1)

Security Update 2011-003(installed today, 1 day after the problem started fyi)
after that update my safari stopped working properly and my playback of videos got even worse than they got after my updates the 22. March. Included with these things my finder/spotlight started getting slower and slower, until it got to where it is now with files loading atleast 50% slower than before.

I did not use the repair permissions before 3. June(fter the latest security update)
I simply installed the updates and got prompted with the restart from the updates, followed it and then logged in after the updates was finished with the configuring.
I have now repaired and verified the permissions, and can't seem to find any difference in the performance of my macbook.
