Latest "upgrade" 29.0.1 made my Outlook messages disappear

The add on for Outlook is there, but, excet for the dates and times of messages, it is blank. I can still access the Outlook if I open it, but the Home Page information is gone.

Hello,
Try resetting as well as [[Firefox just updated - why is it asking me to update again?]]
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. <br>
'''Note''': ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.''
*Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

You delete content from the iPad and/or update it from iTunes on a computer.
iCloud space is separate from that on the device.

  • Latest upgrade made me start over - no mail, firefox, address book, more

"Software upgrade" on Friday told me there was a huge OS upgrade, so I did.
Then I found that Mail wants to start me over, cannot open Firefox at all, trying to open Word takes me to "Microsoft register" and won't let me. Only Quyicken works, bless their hearts.
The files are all there for Mail and Firefox. But connecting them doesn't work.
I had the Microsoft problem before. I also had this happen when I added a driver for HP. The Apple store said the issue was a bad spot on the hard drive, so they replaced it.
(Is this the only screw up from this latest upgrade?)
    Would certainly appreciate help.
    Thanks.
    Tad

I found an old Microsoft message about trying a soft startup - hit the shift key and all that. Did and - viola! - it all came back.
    Any idea why? Just curious.
Thanks. I'm sure any one of you guys on the right would have told me that, but I am curious as to why this worked.

  • TS5179 I've been bitten by the "Missing MSVCR.dll file" problem when downloading the latest iTunes update (PC w/ Win-7 & Outlook-2007#. 'Have followed Apple's instructions of un-installing all Apple software, and re-installing it. #out of space...??)

I've been bitten by the "Missing MSVCR.dll file" problem when downloading the latest iTunes update, 11.4.62 (on a PC w/ Win-7 & Outlook-2007#. 'Have followed Apple's instructions of un-installing all Apple software, and re-installing it (Ugh).  First result Outlook couldn't find my 1,385 item contact file in iCloud, although the outlook distribution lists were there.  Second result, upon installing iCloud again, I have two iCloud contact files shown in outlook - "iCloud" & iCloud, within iCloud".  1,332 & 1,385 contacts respectively.
Plus an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere.  This is NOT fun at 72-yrs old...!!
So, how do I make sure I haven't lost anythying from Outlook?   Russ-AZ

Interesting response, Kappy  -  Back to original post: "First result: Outlook couldn't find my 1,385 item contact file in iCloud, although the outlook distribution lists were there (therefore, initially I had lost my contact file from Outlook).  Second result, upon installing iCloud again, I now have two iCloud contact files shown in Outlook - "iCloud" & iCloud, within iCloud".  W/ 1,332 & 1,385 contacts respectively.
Plus an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere.  This is NOT fun at 72-yrs old...!!
So, how do I make sure I haven't lost anythying from Outlook?   Russ-AZ"
You can safely assume that I have tried using it!   So, to make things a little clearer:
         1)  I now have two iCloud "contacts files", w/ a different total count. What's the difference?  Why the different toatl count?
         2)  Since re-installing the Apple software (part of the MSVCR" recovery instructions) "couldn't possible affected Outlook", why am I getting an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere.  What's in those files? And where are they?
Probably more important questions get down to:
         3)  Why is a basic Apple product upgrade "screwing-up Outlook"?  This iTunes upgrade, failing to install properly forced Outlook 2007 into a 2-min start-up cycle.  Which was fixed with this "Goat-Rpdeo" of re-installing MSVCR80.dll.
         4)  And under the latest release of iOS-7.0.4 on our iPhones, why is Apple now forcing us to use the iCloud to back-up our contacts, calendars & tasks, vs. allowing these files to be backed-up directly on our PC's via the USB cable?
Thanks again for your interest and comments.  - Russ-AZ

  • The music search on the I tunes store does not appear after the latest upgrade to my I phone 4

The music search feature on the I Tunes store does not appear.  Unable to search since the latest upgrade.

If you're sure where your library is run this script iTunesXMLPath. The library folder is the folder that file is in. Your media folder is recorded under Edit > Preferences > Advanced and is usually a subfolder of the library folder.
I recommend you backup your library with the method in this user tip.

  • Gtk messed up after latest upgrade

After latest upgrades it seems that anything gtk-related (2 or 3) is drawn as garbage, see image on http://i.imgur.com/g57D0KS.jpg
Tiled-qt on the left looks fine, however, as does chromium.

I'm using open drivers for my Radeon HD4770.
Same problem persists with all gtk themes.

I have the same problem too. the same graphic card model.
I temporarily change the driver to 'vesa' or 'fbdev' to make it render right.
but it may cause the resolution smaller.
    any suggestion ?

  • The latest upgrade is not compatible. it says error run platform 17.0.1 is not compatible with min version 17.0 max version 17.0

the latest upgrade is not compatible and is not allowing me to open firefox. the error message says run error platform 17.0.1 is not compatible with min version >17.0 max version <17.0

hello paisley157, this error might be caused by security programs such as zone alarm - please temporarily disable those programs for the following procedure:
*download the full firefox setup file from getfirefox.com
*uninstall firefox on the machine (but don't chose to delete your custom files & settings in the uninstaller!)
*manually delete all remaining files in the firefox program folder, which usually resides in ''C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\''
    *reinstall firefox

  • TS1967 I downloaded the latest upgrade of iTunes. Now iTunes won't open at all.

I just downloaded the latest upgrade of iTunes (v64). It seemed to download without problems but now IT WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL. Anyone else have this problem?

    Hi jowirosales,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There are a few possible reasons why iTunes does not recognize your iPod. See this article for in-depth troubleshooting steps that can help:

  • Can someone please assist me. I was given an iPod 3G as a gift and I tried to download various apps and it told me that my iPod needs to be iOS 7 or more but I checked and my iPod is at its latest upgrade which is 6.1.6, how can I get those app?

See a a version compable with your iPod is available:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
Also, if you have iOS 6.1.6 yo have a 4G (has cameras). A 3G does not have cameras and can only go to 5.1.1

  • Itunes was working fine. Tries to install latest upgrade and get error message about an invalid character in the path "Program Files (x86)". PC, Win7, nothing else appears to be having same issue.

    Thanks b noir,
I tried this solution without success. After FixIt ran and didn't find a problem, either in looking for issues with "software upgrade" or "iTunes" it kindly offered to help me uninstall iTunes. I had thought of this as a possibilty but it seems to me that if you do that you lose a lot of "non-native-to-Apple" information you might have entered. I did this once and recovery was painfull. Is there a way to uninstall iTunes without losing all of that sort of thing? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Since I upgraded to 10.9.5, my macbook no longer recognizes my external  hard drive. How do I fix this?  External hard drive is a 1TB Toshiba formatted for mac.  Worked fine until latest upgrade.

Solved the problem by dumping my external HD onto another computer. Re-formatting and re-installing the data.  Not what I wanted to do but it solved the problem.

  • How do I access my bookmarks by file folder after the latest upgrade?

I accepted the latest upgrade and must undo. I cannot find bookmarks -- for example I have a file folder for knitting that contains bookmarked sites for yarn shops. The reason I have these bookmarked is so I don't have to remember the names. I can't get to other bookmarks because I don't remember the exact name of the bookmark. This is a mess! I was trying to get to a local site that I've been into over the past couple of years. Instead of taking me to that site I get a list of Google Search Results -- my local site is not even listed. This is a mess!

You can open the Bookmarks in the sidebar via View > Sidebar > Bookmarks (Ctrl+B)<br />
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily as already posted above.
You can find toolbar buttons to open the bookmarks and the history in the sidebar in the toolbar palette and drag them on a toolbar.<br />
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

  • Some Widget does not work after latest upgrade

Today is July 23rd, 2011. By recent latest upgrade, mainly for supporting Lion, where I am still using Snow Leopard 10.6.8, some widget does not work, including Battery Meter, Digital Clock Alarm, Victoria Digital Clock, etc.
By the way, my company use Chatter and I installed Chatter Desktop. Again, after recent upgrade, it no longer work anymore.
Do you experience the same problem?
For those who has upgraded to Lion, do you also find some widget does not work?

I have read a couple of complaints like that, but not sure it's widespread.
At this point I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15667/applejack
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
    Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.
If that does NOT help, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Then move these files to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist
    Reboot & test.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.
If that does NOT help then I suspect the optical drive or media itself, or possibly just needs a cleaning CD run on it.
