Latest upgrade disables my internet connection

I upgraded and now I can't access the internet from my home.  It tells me that it is checking my internet connection and then it "...disconnects WiFi because the connection is too slow".  Really???  This needs to be fixed, what can I do??  We use a Verizon 5-spot for connectiveity (we live in the boonies...) and get only 2G sometimes 3G--  If I can't use the internet at home, I need to switch carriers and phones!

  • "Network disabled because Internet connection is slow"

I have both a Samsung Galaxy S3 and a new Samsung Tab 3.   After a recent software upgrade, I was having connectivity issues to wireless routers.   The message I got when connecting to a secure wireless network was "Network disabled because Internet connection is slow".   I determined that I had no issues with either my phone or tablet on either an unsecure router (WiFi hotspot), or with any older router that broadcast WPA2 personal with either aes OR tkip security.   I do have a problem with connecting to any new router that broadcasts BOTH aes and tkip at the same time.   When I change the routers under my control to broadcast only aes or tkip, then I can immediately connect both my phone and tablet to the router.   There are obviously a lot of routers over which I have no control, so this needs to be fixed.  I am pretty sure that there is a problem with the latest Android software upgrade in this regard

I am having the same problem with my Galaxy 3S since the upgrade. Have searched for settings, etc. but haven't found anything I can control. My home network is getting 54.4 down and 5.7 up! Have had this issue nearly everywhere I am connected.
I think it needs a fix - noticed today that Verizon has doubled my DATA for free. May need it if this continues.

  • ITunes disabling my internet connection..?

    Hi.
Having "upgraded" to 7.4.3.1, iTunes now disables my internet connection whenever I try to upload a cd (after it's found the album artist and song titles). The internet still shows as "connected" but it won't work - no access to the Store or to any websites ("server not found").
Even if I close iTunes then try to disconnect and reconnect it does not work - the connection showing Error 0721. Only closing everything and restarting the computer enables reconnection.
I am using a Thomson Speedtouch 330 modem if that's any help.
Any advice would be most gratefully received - I'm halfway through uploading my cd collection and still have a hundred or so to go... If unresolvable this could be a deal-break stinger.
    Cheers

I'm having this problem too when downloading podcasts. Have you found a solution?

  • Setting NAT to disabled breaks internet connection

Hello when i set NAT to disabled my internet connections does not work. Why is that?  When NAT is disabled what attacks do i leave my self open to? My ultimate goal is to run three xboxes with open NAT setting, how do i do this? the details of my network are below.
    Modem --> WRT610n
    (everything is using statis IP)
my desktop is plugged into the router via ethernet cable
    Wireless devices:
    3 xboxes
    2 Desktops
    1 laptop
we are trying to get all three xboxs running with open NAT how do i do this?

Why would you disable NAT? NAT is required to allow systems with Private IP Addresses to access the internet. For instance, if your PC has an IP Address of 192.168.1.50 it needs NAT to convert this non routable private IP address into something that is routable on the internet. NAT is designed to allow multiple systems within the private IP space to access the internet. Also, for systems that are not acting as 24/7 "Servers" why use static IP addresses? DHCP, when set up properly, eliminates user error by automatically entering the necessary information to allow workstations and game consoles to access the internet. No offense, but if you don't understand NAT and private vs. public IP addressing, you probably shouldn't be entering information into a static IP address config screen...The XBOX saying you have "Moderate" or "Strict" NAT has nothing to do with DHCP vs. Static IP.
Open NAT should work correctly if UPNP is enabled on the router. If it doesn't, you can try opening the ports like the previous responder suggested but it shouldn't be neccessary.
The router does allow for ONE IP address on your internet network to act as a "DMZ Host" which will bypass NAT and give that device unfiltered internet access but you will not be able to have 3 DMZ host devices.

  • Itunes 8.2 disables Ethernet/Internet connection

In an effort to upgrade to iTunes 8.2 this morning, I d/l and installed without difficulty. However, afterward, my computer did not recognize my Ethernet and I could not connect to the internet. I restored my computer to an earlier restore point, which restored my Ethernet/internet connection and deleted iTunes 8.2. After some manipulation of files, I now have a working version of iTunes 8.0.2. This is so frustrating, b/c it has taken me several hours of research to get everything functioning as it was before installing the iTunes upgrade.
What do I have to do to get Itunes 8.2 to function on my computer without it disabling my internet access? Apparently without the upgrade to 8.2, I cannot download the software upgrade for my iPhone 3g.
    Thanks for your help.

Its amazing, my previous post which was deleted by the powers that be, was solely related to the problem that alot of people are having. Namly Itunes disabling internet connection, because I was extreamly irrate about the whole this I accidentally put a swear word in the post.
How is it that the posts can be read to police against that but not to check on peoples problems and get them sorted.
Seriously apple get this problem sorted, I object to having to join this forum giving away my details so you can now email me, with alot of stuff that I don't even want. One thing I would like is for you to sort this problem out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope that isn't too many exclamation marks, hope it doesn't offend anyone.
I am running XP, when I download Itunes it gets rid of my internet connection, thus making Itunes more useless than it already is.
We are waiting for an answer. As I said in the previous post, DO YOUR JOBS AND GIVE US AN ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And for the Apple discussions staff, if you are reading this, how about a bit of customer service, stop hiding behind your standard signature block and sign your emails with a name. The personal touch would make people less inclined to lose their tempers.

  • Looking to upgrade without an internet connection...

I'm considering an upgrade from CS3 Master Collection to Creative Cloud but I don't and will not have internet access. The only reason I do now is because I am using a public access computer which I can't move my suite to every so many months to validate the software. Is there any other options for validating software aside from an internet connection? I'd prefer to purchase physical media software, is this still an option at all? Even if it's CS5 or CS6? Thanks so much!

Internet access is required to acquire the software and maintain Cloud subscriptions.  CS6 versions are still be sold however there is no upgrade path from CS3 to CS6...
    Purchase CS6 products:

  • After upgrade Itunes, no internet connection

I just purchased an Ipod Touch.  When I attached it to my Acer netbook running XP, I was prompted to upgrade my ITunes software, not sure what the version on the computer was as I never used it.  Anyway when the upgrade was completed I lost my Internet connection from the netbook.  I did a system restore, which fixed that problem.  However the same problem occurred when I tried to install ITunes again.  Has anyone had this problem?  Is there a fix for it.  System restore brought my Internet connection back, so I can try the upgrade again and try to work though it.  Any help would be appreciated.
On a side note the Ipod Touch is nice and the Internet connection on that works fine.  I just wish I could put some of my music / video's on it.

I'd try the install again, Bob, and then apply TG10987's instructions from the following post:

  • Enabling 'Internet Sharing' disables my internet connection

Hi all, my desktop computer (iMac 27") is hooked up to the internet via ethernet cable/modem. Very simple configuration. I normally share the internet connection (password protected) that my other devices access via wifi.
For months this has been working just fine. today I've been having connectivity issues. I worked with my cable company to determine the issue. what finally solved it was disabling wifi, shutting down the modem & computer. Then boot the modem, afterwards boot the computer.
This worked great, I saw everything working in Network Diagnostics...
Then, I re-enabled Internet Sharing, with the same settings I've used for months, and I saw the connection disappear immediately in Network Diagnostics (Ethernet & Network Settings were green, all else red).
Rebooting the router didn't work. Restarting the computer with with wifi enabled didn't work. I had to disable wifi, turn off everything, boot modem, boot computer to get it to work again. Any time afterwards, where I enabled Internet Sharing the connection would break again.
    Please help! Thanks!

I guess he meant to give this link :
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=ServerAdmin/10.4/en/c1gs9.html
Also setup DNS in the server and use that for LAN clients or you probably will have to change firewall settings to allow the use of a public DNS to-from LAN.

  • Current iTunes upgrade kills ALL internet connection to computer

I'm using iTunes on Windows XP SP3.  Previous versions were not a problem.  I upgraded to the current version (11.0.2) and lost all internet connectivity, not just to the iTunes store, but to ALL applications; my computer reported that NO internet connection was present at all.  Doing a system restore resolved this, but the upgrade left some remnant that has rendered the previously working version of iTunes inoperable; when I execute it, it suggests I download the current version to correct the problem, but of course that kills my internet connection altogether and thus is not a solution.
Googling this has indicated fixes involving:
    1) Deleting the iTunesPrefs.XML file
    --> That didn't work.
    2) A solution involving executing "netsh winsock reset" at the command prompt and then rebooting.
    --> That didn't work either.
In fact, nothing I could find online worked.  I am NOT using Norton, McAfee, or any other anti-virus or firewall that would be causing the conflict.  Again, I'm using Windows XP SP3, and have a direct internet feed into my computer.
What can be done to fix this?  Currently I cannot use iTunes at all on my computer because of the upgrade and the havoc it's caused (the System Restore did NOT restore the previous working version of iTunes; when I execute it, it claims a component is missing and I should download and install the current version...)
    Many thanks in advance,
    Tom

  • Since Mountain Lion Upgrade is my Internet connection very slow, Since Mountain Lion Upgrade is my Internet connection very slow

Why is Safari so slow after Mountain Lion upgrade?

I have a home Optimum wifi network with Boost connecting to an Airport, with a second Airport extending, and an Airport Express extending. I have a MacBook Pro, last year's model, two iMacs, a year old each, and an older iMac. (If necessary I can get all the models etc, but I just want to express the problem). The two new iMacs and MBP are running Mountain Lion. The older Lion.
Since upgrading to ML my connection speed both over the wifi and directly connecting to the router has dropped from 30-50 down and 5 up to between 1-4 down and 4 up. I have had the cable folks here to test lines. We've swapped out the modem with a new one. I bought a new netgear N600. Everything led to the same result.
Here's the odd part. When restarting the modem and plugging it directly into the powerbook, initial tests show 30-50 up and 5 down. But once you reconnect to wifi, lose speed, the re-connect directly to the modem the slowness persists directly connected to the modem.
So I start suspecting Mountain Lion. BUT the older iMac cannot be upgraded to Mountain and is still running Lion and has the same issue. The equipment is in the same place it's always been. We've added no electronics that would be interfering with signals.
Everyone is stumped and looking suspicously at the computer and OS. Please help. I'm beginning to hear the bing bong bing bong of dial up in my head.

  • Latest update ruined my internet connection

    Hi,
Was running OS Tiger with all updates installed...Emac computer
I always install the updates when the updates come up. Last night several updates did. (I have dsl). I went ahead and let them install. Well, we always shut the computer off at night, and it starts up automatically in the am. This morning after restarting it would not connect to the internet. I reset the modem and the router, and still nothing. I also worked in the network settings to no avail. So I installed OS Jaguar on another partition and instantly was connected online. I figure that it would rule out hardware problems.
The computer was fine last night, and nothing was changed, except a restart after installing the updates.
Is there a way to uninstall the updates?
    Laura
    Emac G4 Mac OS X (10.4.1)

    Bob,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Sounds like corruption in the Internet Config preferences. Removing those will require reinserting your username and password for dialup. If it isn't, come back here and start a new topic where more people can view it:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=755
Who might know what your issue is. Despite similar issues, yours is dealing with dialup, while the original poster here is with high speed. Totally different creatures. And your own friend might want to post their topic too. Each computer setup is slightly different, and solutions often are different just because the setup is different.

  • 10.4.9 Upgrade Disables 2Wire Wireless Connection

After upgrading to 10.4.9 on my MBP Intel Core 2 Duo, I cannot connect wirelessly to my 2Wire HomePortal1000 HG. Error message isn't helpful: "There was an error connecting to2WireXXX network. "
IWas able to connect prior to the upgrade from 10.4.8.
Have tried changing router to WEP, WPA, and open and had 2Wire (AT&T) take me through all their troubleshooting steps.
I am able to connect to 2Wire HomePortal1000 HG with my Windows laptop, and was able to connect from my MBP to a different wifi network today at my office.
    Any suggestions?

Let's see...it's System Preferences->Network->Airport->Airport. Select By default, join: Preferred Networks. Then select your network from the list and push that little tiny "-" button. Push "Apply Now". Then push the little tiny "+" button and select the SSID, enter password, push "OK", and "Apply Now" again.
I have a TV you have to bang on the side to get a clear picture. This is a little like that.
