Latest upgrade seems to affect iPhone syncing properly

What on earth is up.  I'm not a new iphone or Apple user.  I have an iphone 4s; an iMac, all running current software and plenty of disk space.
I'm trying to sync my home movies with iphone.  They are uploaded in iTunes, boxes are checked, sync movies is checked, movies I want added are checked, area where it says include movies from playlist is checked, including home movies and nothing happens.
My contacts aren't syncing either (all are up-to-date on my phone, but they won't sync.  Yes, all boxes are checked in iTunes and on the phone) and I won't even get into using the Mac mail client.
I've re-booted my phone; re-booted my computer; uninstalled things; re-installed things. Made sure that iCloud is running properly.
Never, ever have I had this much trouble with Apple products and I've been using them since 1986.  Please, oh, please, does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?
HELP!!!

I backed up and restored and this appears to have worked for now.

  • Since latest upgrade why does my iPhone and iPad battery usage seem greater?

Following the latest upgrade (April 2014) the battery usage on both iPhone and iPad is greater than before (50%+ in one day). Any ideas why or do I need to close anything?

  • Since my 2.0.1 Upgrade, My Apps will not sync properly to Itunes

I updated both my Itunes and Iphone last night and attempted to access my apps on my iphone and they each went to the title screen and then back to the home screen. I read some earlier posted topics and followed the instructions to restore my iphone, delete all applications from my IMAC (in Itunes) and from my phone. I re-downloaded them to my Itunes and attempted to sync. All looked fine, but still was unable to access any of my apps on my iphone. I went through this process again and then downloaded the apps directly to my phone. They work that way. I have unselected my sync for apps option in Itunes. Has anyone else reported a problem like this one?

I'm on a mac, so not sure if this will help or not. I found after updating my phone and then updating the apps that all my iphone apps were updating but not replacing the old apps, but rather appending a number to them (so like there would be Zenbe.ipa and Zenbe 1.ipa) I deleted the Zenbe.ipa - renamed Zenbe 1.ipa to Zenbe.ipa , resynched and everything works. This was for every addon app I had on the phone... appears to be a bug in itunes.

  • IPhone won't sync properly since upgrading to new iTunes and iOS5

    Hi,
I'm having great difficulty syncing my iPhone properly since upgrading to the newest software of both.
Ever since upgrading to iOS5 and the newer iTunes (10.5), my phone will start to sync but then get stuck on 'waiting for items to copy' and most of the time doesn't copy across (or back, depending on what it is). Sometimes if I sync a few times it eventually works, but other times, like at the moment, it won't do it properly. For instance, I've bought a song on my phone but now it won't copy across to the computer, and iTunes on the computer thinks I've already downloaded the song so I can't get it off there. It's incredibly frustrating but it used to work so well!
What can I do to make it sync properly? I was hoping a fix would be in iOS5.0.1 but I upgraded to that yesterday and it still does exactly the same things. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

  • Recent software upgrade has changed the way my iPhone syncs with my macbook, and diary items no longer upload from my iPhone. I've tried a to fix it and seem to have made things worse. What is the best way to get the two devices in sync ?

Recent software upgrades has changed the way my iPhone syncs with my macbook and items entered on my iPhone are no longer uploaded to my macbook. I've tried to fix it and seem to have made things worse, my iPhone now has a long list of calanders that I don't want and can't delete and nothing is uploading to my macbook.

You need to look at Mac's iTunes, check  > System Preferences > iCloud.
If you use iCloud for Calendar, Contacts then turn off those items in iTunes, Info tab with your iPhone connected and selected.

  • My iPad Air gets a error when I try to backup.   It does sync properly.  My iPhone backs up and syncs without isssue.  I am running latest itunes and iOS 8 versions.  Thank you.

My iPad Air gets an unknown error when I try to backup.   It does sync properly.  My iPhone backs up and syncs without isssue.  I am running latest itunes and iOS 8 versions.  Thank you.

Try rebooting your computer and reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

    Hi am33m,
Sounds like iTunes Match hasn't sync'd the songs properly. Am I correct that on iOS devices the songs appear greyed out? I've had this problem as well recently. You could try going back to the computer you added the songs on, selecting them from your iTunes library and deleting them but telling iTunes to keep the files.
I did have some luck following the steps at https://discussions.apple.com/message/18597236#18597236 however that was short lived and stopped being effective shortly after. You may have more success.
    1. List all your songs in your library and right-click the column headers to show iCloud Status
    2. Sort by this column and look for all of the tracks at Waiting Status
    3. Select all of the tracks at Waiting Status, right click and delete them, click Delete Items on the first prompt as shown below (This won't delete your music from your computer):
    4. IMPORTANT: At the second prompt that appears after you click Delete Items select Keep Files
    5. Select Add to Library from the File menu and navigate to your iTunes folder in the Music under your Home folder.
Leave iTunes to rebuild your library (it might take a while if you have a lot of tracks that were at waiting status). Once it is complete, update iTunes Match once it's finished and it should upload the tracks
Following that process should rebuild the song information for those tracks in your iTunes library and may help iTunes Match sync up properly. If it doesn't let me know as there are some people including myself that haven't had much luck lately getting past this issue.

  • Since the latest update my I-pod is not syncing properly.

    Hi Everyone,
My 80GB Classic has not been syncing properly since the latest I-tunes update. I have done the whole '5 R's' thing with no effect, disk mode makes no difference either.
This is what it is doing. I-tunes IS recognising the I-pod however I can only sync manually at the moment. Pretty much 1 album at a time: sync 1 album, eject I-pod, reconnect it, sync another album, eject, reconnect etc.. Because if I try to sync too much at a time everything freezes and I have to reset the I-pod and then I loose everything on it since I last disconnected the I-pod. At this rate it will take me about a month to sync my entire music library!! But now it seems that I can only get about 200 songs on it before it freezes up everytime I try to sync.
Also it no longer works on my home theater dock, bedside radio or car stereo (I-pod direct) it shows as charging but will not play through the stereo/headunit, which has me wondering what the **** was in that last update?. Headphones still work ok though.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.

WPR260,  I have been having similar problems since the latest SW upgrade!  Ity seems to sync for a random time and then iTunes is very slow to respond.  When I trying to disconnect, it asks me if I am sure, then stalls some more, I finally have to just pull the docking plug and restart the process but when an audiobook has 200+ tracks it cannot make it through the sync.  Very frustrating!
Apprecaite any word you get (if you get any) I will do the same.
    Cheers!

  • After Outlook 2003 to 2007 upgrade, calendar no longer syncs properly

    Hi all,
I have a client that I have been troubleshooting iPhone/Outlook problems with and am stumped. After seeing online how many issues there are with Outlook information sync, I have tried everything to no avail so I thought I would ask for outside ideas.
My client had Outlook 2003 operating in an Exchange environment and everything was working perfectly synching his iPhone 3G to contacts and calendars within Outlook. Recently we upgraded to Office 2007. Now his iPhone sync does not update the calendar at all. It seems as though it does sync the old calendar information that was present in Outlook 2003 before the upgrade.
After much troubleshooting, I believe it may have something to do with the old Outlook 2003 calendar. I have tried deleting recurring appointments, backup and restore of the iPhone, and applying all software updates to both iTunes and Office.
When trying a restore of the iPhone, I opted to restore to factory settings and then leave the phone 'blank' and try sync of the calendar alone with the 'Replace all calendar info on the iPhone with Outlook calendar' option enabled. This resulted in a sync that did populate calendar data, but it did not match the data displayed on the calendar in Outlook 2007. It was as though it was synching the old calendar present before the Office suite was upgraded.
Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks for any help!
    Cheers.

I am having the same issue and the article you're suggesting only relates to a Mac operating system. Whereas I do own a Mac (Mac Mini & Macbook), this issue is occuring when I'm attempting to sync my iPhone with my calendar & contacts at the office.
I just recently upgraded to Office 2007 from Office 2003 and now when I try to sync, it seems to get stuck during the syncing of contacts. I am just an end user and my company does not support iPhone so there aren't any changes I can make to the exchange server, etc....
Please help!!!! I desperately need access to my updated calendar appointments.

  • My iPhone 4s with iOS 6 won't sync properly since updating my Mac to OSX 10.9?

Hi. I've kept my iPhone 4s using iOS 6, but I upgraded my iMac to OSX 10.9 yesterday and now it's not syncing properly. Can anyone help? Previously in iTunes I'm sure there was a radial button to sync calendars & contacts etc, but I can't see it now.

    Hi blu72,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  With OS X Mavericks, you can sync your contacts and calendars with your devices using iCloud:
iTunes 11 for Mac: Sync contacts, calendars, and other info with iPod, iPhone, or iPad

If you use OS X Mavericks v.10.9 or later, your contacts, calendars, and other info are updated on your computers and iOS devices via iCloud. For more information, see iCloud Help at icloud.com.

  • Itunes will not allow music to sync since latest upgrade

Trying to sync music to two different ipods and ipad. since downloading the latest itunes version, no music will sync to either device.  I have checked selected songs (different for each device) and it will recognize 1755 songs but on the capacity bar, no audio is showing and when syncing, no music is transferred. I have tried restoring each device, all have latest upgrades....don't understand why it won't sync properly.  any ideas out there?

  • IPhone 4s blacks out since IOS7.2 latest upgrade

I have upgraded to a 4S from a 4 IPhone.  It has the upgrade IOS.7.2 (the latest) upgrade for the software).  With these 2 changes, I have had episodes where the phone goes black and I cannot use it.....until it decides to come back for maybe, a short time and then does it again.   I went back to see the Genuis and they said it was a software glitch and supposedly fixed it.   The problem continued starting the next day.  So, I went back a 3rd time and was provided a brand new Iphone (this is the 2nd one in a week).  We put the IOS.7.2 upgrade on it as well......and guess what?  The problem is continuing.   Obviously, it's not the hardware; the Iphone itself.  It must be in the new software.  BUT if the Genuis' can't fix it, what do I do?   Anyone know what it is and how to fix it???
    Thank you,
    Pat

Have the exact same issue, and after spending over  one hour at the Genius Bar I was told by the store manager that the only way to solve the issue was to buy a replacement phone because it wasn't IOS 7 to caused the issue but it was the wireless chip that was going to break regardless, and the iOS upgrade just accelerated the issue...
I have even showed her the plenty of threads like this one about the issue and she said they were all coincidences.
The thing is that the phone was brand new as it was replaced by apple 6 moths ago and super well taken care off...
I have been an iPhone user since the first hour and never had an issue till the 4s.
I'm super disappointed with the apple customer serviceman lack of care towards long time customers.
If you know your old phones won't work with the new iOS do not offer the upgrade.
It seems to me like a poor scheme to sell more new generation iPhones, since you can't even downgrade the iOS 6.
Now I'm stuck with a $600 clunker that can barely make phone calls since the 4g antenna is compromised, and that it's battery drains within 4 hours in plane mode wth no apps running.
I'm sad to say but it is time to get a windows phone or an android.
    Shame on you apple...

  • Why isn't my mobile me mail syncing properly from iphone to "Mail"?

    Hi all,
Most of the time, my Mobile Me syncs just fine between my iPhone and my Mail application on my computer. However, sometimes certain messages will appear only on my phone and then not on my computer and visa versa. Is there an explanation or fix to this?
Also, within the past week, my iphone has started asking me for my iTunes password all the time. In the past, it has only ever asked me for the password when downloading or updating an app. Now it randomly pops up with my username already there and asking for my password for no apparent reason. It's really annoying. I typed in the password the first few times and hit "ok" but it kept coming back a while later. And when I hit "cancel", it doesn't seem to affect anything. Thoughts?
    Thanks!
    Lisa

You don't need to pay to contact Apple to deactivate iMessage. Use the following link, then click "Other Apple ID topics" and then "Messages and Apple ID"  https://getsupport.apple.com/Issues.action

  • Syncing Issues since latest upgrade

Everything has been working great with my iPhone 3G until upgrading to the latest iTunes program. Since then I am unable to sync my calendar or contacts between my PC and iPhone. I have Outlook and it synced just fine yesterday before upgrading. After the iPhone backs-up and right before it is to sync I get a message that says the "SyncServer has stopped working". Another message then pops up and iTunes tells me it can't sync unless syncing is turned on and it tries to turn it on, but to no avail.
I'm at a loss at what further to do. I've read many of the recommended actions/fixes and have had no luck.
Any advice and help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Wheeeeeeeee success after a week! I followed these instructions:
    Make sure Itunes is closed.
Go to your control panel, open 'system' icon, click on 'advanced system settings' on left panel.
    Click 'Environmental Variables'
A small window will pop up, with a top half and a bottom half filled with info.
On the bottom half (System Variables) scroll until you see 'PATH'. Double click that entry, and paste this at the very end of what is there.
    ;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
Notice the ; in front, that needs to be there so this does not screw up the rest of the info in the PATH variable. Please be careful to paste this at the very end.
Then I searched my C drive for this file - libxml2.dll. It should be in the Apple folder, if there is another one somewhere else (mine was in C/Windows, sometime it might be in C/Windows/System 32). I moved this folder to the desktop, just in case everything went pear shaped.
I am not sure if you need to do both these things, the first alone never worked but when I moved the libxml2.dll everything worked as normal when I re opened I tunes and connected my Itouch. Outlook contacts and calendars now sync both ways.
