After upgrading to latest Firefox, can't made a secure connection. It spins and either times out or says connection refused. Running PC Tools Firewall and when I disable it, secure connections work. Tried one tip of removing Firefox from firewall list and then re-adding it, but it didn't help.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Safari cannot make a secure connection to Google or Youtube--but only on my home network

Recently, when I am on my home network, I cannot connect to Google or Youtube. When I try to, I get an error message that says that Safari can't make a secure connection to the site. (I can connect to these sites with Firefox at home though) However, when I am at work, both Google and Youtube load just fine on Safari. Any idea what could be causing this? I suspect that it's the repeater that my landlord installed in my apartment, but I really have no idea.
I am running Mavericks (10.9.4) on a 15-inch, late 2011 MacBook Pro.

How can I get the usajobs.gov website to open with the latest version of firefox?

i just updated to the latest version of firefox, now it will not let me use the usajobs.gov website. it keeps saying that it is untrusted, and since it uses https, it can not have an exception so i can not continue to the page. It's not going to happen. Google announced withdrawal of their Google Toolbar.

The Google Toolbar will not be updated for Firefox 5 or later Firefox versions. I installed the latest version of Firefox last night. It worked 3-4 times flawlessly. Now, it crashes at startup and gives me a box with crash detail report. How can I fix this?

I have a brand new HP dv8t laptop that is straight from the manufacturer 2 days ago.
Last night, I attempted to download and installed the latest version of Firefox. After installing, it worked great for an hour or so (3.4 different sessions).
Then, this morning when I came back to the computer, Firefox crashes at startup and gives me the option of finding a solution online or quitting the program.
How aggravating!
I have installed this same version on 2 other computers that I own, without any issue.
I have attempted to uninstall Firefox from the dv8 and reinstalling, to no avail.

You might try using the add-on 'NoSquint' which allows numerous zoom options specific to each page you visit & keeps your settings - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/

In most cases you can simply "upgrade" (meaning downgrade) directly from the installation. It would be a good idea to save your passwords & bookmarks just to be on the safe side.

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session. 
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.

I would strongly advise you not to let it sit in the Inbox.
When you see this happening, try right-click on the affected folder, select '''Properties''' then '''Repair Folder'''.
Large folders (actually, a folder in Thunderbird is stored as a file, so it is sensitive to file size limits set by the underlying file system) can be problematic. This is one reason not to let messages collect in one folder. Since then I can access minimum parts of normal websites and I cannot use multiple tabs to search different websites. Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4.
You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the about:config page.

I don't think that extension is supported. I believe Firefox can only read .json and .html.

Example:- I've just spent 20 minutes looking how to 'translate' after I installed that add-on, there it was! A tiny little icon in the bottom right of the screen, I find the new set up very messy and very hard to navigate. Why can't I have the same set up on my toolbar that I've had for the last ten years? Thanks but you're only telling me stuff I already know, that dosen't explain how I get the new version of Firefox to look neat and tidy like it always used to. I can no longer have all my icons that I use, I can no longer access things as easily as I could and the whole thing looks very bare and basic now! A bigger mess than even Google Chrome.
I've spent most of this evening trying to get stuff back that is now lost because of this 'upgrade' and I'm now giving up with it. Well done! You've totally ruined what was the best browser for years.
