Latest version of Flash not running on Maverick

I downloaded OS X Maverick approximately 3 weeks ago and had absolutely no problems, and enjoyed it for approximately 1 week ago. I upgraded Flash to latest verison (Flash 11) and now I am unable to do anything. Any website I visit states "Upgrade to Flash 11". Is there a setting of Flash 11 that I am unaware of that needs to be changed?

I had this very same problem, and I solved it by removing the
FF extension AdBlock. If you've got AdBlock installed, that's your
culprit. If you don't, well, I can't help you!

  • Latest Version of Flash not working in mac Firefox

I have Intel Core 2 Duo Mac OS X 10.5.6
I'm complaining about Firefox 3.0.5 not displaying Flash
    properly.
I have been getting this "Get Adobe Flash Player" logo
instead of music playlist that is supposed to be there. So I click
and download. Go back to the site. No change. I cleared all Firefox
private data and restart firefox. No change.
I find the Flash uninstaller from Adobe. I uninstall Flash.
Check the website to see if it's really uninstalled, and I get a
message bar at the top of Firefox telling me additional plug ins
needed to view the page. So I click that and it takes me to
download Adobe Flash. Download the correct version for my computer.
If I go to this test page:
    http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/
It says "You have version 10,0,12,36 installed" and I can see
    the movie play.
But when I go back to the site the flash ads work, but the
music playlist still has the "Get Adobe Flash Player" logo!
What do I need to do? It works fine in Safari.

  • Firefox is not allowing me to install the latest version of Flash Player, or older versions that would allow me to open youtube etc. any suggestions?

Hi there, Firefox not accepting latest version of Flash Player, or older versions that would allow me to open youtube and is continuouing to block it. any suggestions?

'''''"... Firefox not accepting latest version of Flash Player ..."'''''
Firefox shouldn't keep you from installing Flash; Firefox needs to be closed before attempting to install Flash - Adobe rules for installing Flash.
Also, it seems that you have a real old version of Flash installed.
    '''Shockwave Flash 9.0 r45'''
Two versions of Flash Plugins installed may confuse Firefox as to which version to use.
You should download and run the Adobe Flash uninstaller program before attempting to install Flash.

  • I downloaded the latest version of flash player, not working?

I just got my computer back from being fixed and I'm redownloading everything I need.
I have a Mac OS X Version 10.7.5 and i downloaded the latest version of flash player for it. It appears to be installed because there's a window opens up saying "Thank you, enjoy flash player." or something like that after I have downloaded the flash player.
I've tried several times and I STILL can't watch videos or do things that require flash player.
I went to my system preferences, clicked on Flash Player and went to the advanced bar, and it says "Plug-in version 11.9.900.117 is installed."
However, when i go to this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
And I click the "Check Now" button to see if flash player has been installed onto my computer, it says:
"Sorry, Flash Player is either not installed or not enabled.
    Please go to step 2."
And so I did and downloaded it AGAIN. I only saw the same thing after i reloaded the page and tried again.
I do not have an anti-virus program, so it can't be that.
    Is the flash player enabled?
How do I check if it's enabled/enable it?

It's usually in your browser's Tools section.

  • Latest Version of Flash will not work in Opera or Safari

My windows pc has been updated to internet explorer 11 with the latest version of Flash. Flash works fine in this browser but now I cannot get it running in my Safari or Opera browser on the same pc. The plug ins are enabled in IE11. I have tried to reinstall Flash several times but it still won't work. Does anyone have a solution and why can't the flash control panel be accessed ?

When you download with IE, there is javascript that detects the OS and browser and will "push" the ActiveX plugin, which is ONLY good for IE.
There are two different pluigns for WIndows.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Make sure you've installed them BOTH.

  • After pressing "Run" button to install latest version of Flash nothing happens.

I have the latest version of Firefox, and have Windows XP 32-bit. Opened computer yesterday, got box telling me to update to latest version of Flash (11.6.602.158). Went to Adobe screen to download, pressed open from download, pressed "Run" in "Run" box and nothing happened. I waited an extra bit of time to see if perhaps to see if the install would take place. No install. Can't get past "Run". Went to Add-on Manager. Shockwave Flash 11.5 r502 is active.
In the past Flash has seemlessly updated without a glitch. What can I do to get the latest version of Shockwave Flash to get past "Run" ie to install, as it has in the past? Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help.

    Download the Flash
    Close Firefox
    * Firefox Menu/Orange button > Exit
    and install the flash

Why can I not download the latest version of Flash? Keeps asking me for my password but won't accept even though I go through a reset process of a new passwork to ensure it is correct.

What kind of password?  Can you post a screenshot of that prompt?
Also, what is your operating system & version?
    What is your web browser?

  • For the past week, I am unable to view videos. The page comes up with this comment: "Blocked plug-in" and it suggests that I download the latest version of Flash player. I have downloaded that and still get the same comment. Please help.

I have an iMac11.2 and am running Mac OS 10.6.8. I have not had a problem viewing videos until the past week or so. Now I cannot view videos on my news, facebook or in email messages at all. A message pops up in the window that says "Blocked plug-in". I have downloaded the latest version of Flash Player for which it asks and still no luck. Can anyone here help me with this? Thank you. • New version of Flash not working with FF on XP.

Last week I installed the latest update for FF on my computer which is running XP. Next day I installed the latest version of Flash and immediately all audio feeds started to 'stutter' and echo, making listening impossible.
I followed all the instructions from FF to clear up Flash problems, uninstalled and re-installed Flash to no effect.
I finally switched back to an older version of Flash and the problem resolved. There doesn't seem to be any info at Adobe about this problem.
So now I'm stuck with the older Flash 10, which works fine, but I'd like to solve the problem.
(I inadvertently asked this question on a Windows 7 discussion thread earlier, so now I'm asking again with the right info. Thanks)

There are a number of active threads concerning the latest Flash player plugin (11.3) and the latest Firefox (13). Not all users are experiencing the same issues, but things to check include the following:
    - Conflict with Realplayer Browser Record plugin (to disable this, open Add-ons from the orange Firefox button or the classic Tools menu and look under the Extensions and Plugins categories)
    - Conflict with Flash 11.3 Protected Mode (see [http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0 Adobe Forums: How do I disable Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?])
Scanning down the front of the forums probably will yield additional suggestions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions
Please post back with your results.

  • Trying to install latest version of Flash for Firefox on WinXP, get Internet Explorer Script Error

I'm trying to install the latest version of Flash (filename install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aih.exe), browser = Firefox 14 (current), OS = Windows XP.  I've tried multiple times, making sure to disable Norton Antivirus Autoprotect first.
At some point along the process - either during download or during installation - I get the following error message:
    Internet Explorer Script Error
    Line: 1
    Char: 10010
    Error: 'ActionLaunchAdobe' is undefined
    Code: 0
    URL: http://127.0.0.1:1174/app/_js/adobe.js
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? [yes] [no]
Whether I answer [yes] or [no] the result is the same - the program hangs. It does not close, and when I close it manually it asks if I really want to stop it. But if I leave it there, nothing happens.
Per advice of the website, I uninstalled Flash in order to start over fresh. What that means is that, instead of having an outdated version of Flash, I now have none.
I've tried to RTFM but searches for this error come up empty.  I'm curious why Internet Explorer is being involved in this to begin with. But mostly, I'm just curious how to get this thing to work.
Thanks for whatever help you can give me.
    Dave

We're investigating this issue and we'd like to get some additional details.  I'd appreciate if anyone experiencing these errors could do the following steps:
    Download the Flash Player installer
Open a command prompt and navigate to the installer location (eg. "cd c:\users\username\downloads\")
    Run the installer, using a “/debug”.argument  (eg. “install_flashplayer11x32ax_chrd_aih.exe /debug”)
Once the installer runs and the error is reproduced, a file named “host.developer.log” will be created in your system’s temp folder.
You can quickly access the temp folder by clicking on Start > Run, then type "%temp%".
Locate the "host.developer.log" file and either post the contents in a reply or send directly to [email protected]
Along with the debug log, please include the following info:
Operating System (if you're on XP, what service pack do you have installed)
    Browser
    Network proxy setup (if applicable)
    Thanks!

  • How to reinstal the latest version of flash player on removal of older version.

The Microsoft Windows notifies me that Adobe Flash Player Service 11.6r602 stopped working and was closed. Further it says that a problem caused the application to stop working correctly.Windows will notify if a solution is available. This notification comes daily for 20-30 times in course of operation of the Lap Top.
I have the Flash Player version of 11.7 and the latest is 11.800......I tried to reinstall the latest version it does not install the latest giving an error remark that the system has the flash player.I do not remember the exact wording.
My question is how do I remove the existing version and have the latest version. Please advise.

  • Firefox won't use latest version of flash.

I've downloaded and installed the latest version of flash. The problem is that Firefox refuses to use it, and instead decides to tell me to upgrade every time I go to a site that uses flash. It uses an outdated version...

You show Shockwave Flash 9.0 r28 as being installed for Firefox. Un-install that through the Control Panel.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here, to get the one for Firefox: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />
    See this: <br />

  • Why can't I install the latest version of Flash Player?  I have all plug-ins allowed.

Why can't I install the latest version of Flash Player?  I have all plug-ins allowed.

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
               ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
    a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. On the right there will be a list of websites for which you have specifically allowed Flash, if any. It's normal for the list to be empty. Below that is a menu labeled
              When visiting other websites
From that menu, select either Allow or Ask.
    b. If you still get the alerts, then go back to the Flash Player preference pane and select the Advanced tab. Click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
    c. If the alerts still persist, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
              Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Step 6
Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
              Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 7
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
              Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
              Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 9
    Select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.

  • Is my PC too old/slow for the latest version of Flash player?

    Hello there guys.
I wish I had noted down which version of flash player I was using before I updated to the new one, as I had not updated for a year or two and the old version worked fine but the new one does not. The symptoms of the new one I would describe in youtube videos or live streaming, the video quality is in slow motion and skips as if trying to catch up with the audio every 6 seconds or so.
I have tried all the steps such as turning off hardware accelration, deleting excess plug-ins, only running one program at a time, ensuring its the latest version of flash, deleting flash browser data and cache and increasing storage limit.
My PC specifications are as follows:
    AMD Athlon(tm) XP
    1.05GHz, 1.00 of RAM
    128 Mb of graphic memory
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3
I am using Mozilla Firefox, the latest version as it updates itself automatically
I tried watching HTML5 and non-HTML5 video's and both were laggy.
I have checked the system requirements for the flash version I am having trouble with (Adobe Flash Player 11.7.700.202) and it says it requires  2.33Ghz or faster to run so is it just a case of my PC is too old and slow processor to run the latest flash?
If this is the case could someone recommend an archived version that will work for my system and using firefox.
    Many thanks,
    Simon.

I just checked to see if it is the device driver that needs updating on NVIDIA website and got this report:
    Product
    Current
    Installed Driver
    Recommended
    Update
    GeForce FX 5200
    175.19
Your PC currently has the latest driver installed for your GPU.  No driver update is necessary at this time.

  • Firefox blocking latest version of Flash

With the latest version of Flash plugin, Firefox displays contradictory messages that say, 1) "This version of Flash is outdated and should be updated, and 2) on the plugin update screen, "Flash is up to date."
Additionally, my system has the latest QuickTime plugin installed, yet the Firefox plugin update screen says the plugin is outdated and vulnerable and should be updated," (which is impossible).
System: MacOS 10.6.8 (latest I can run for compatibility with other critical software).
    Thoughts?

    Lets try again.
For Windows and Mac OX only 16.0.0.235 and 13.0.0.25'''9''' ESR and also 15.0.0.2'''46 ''' is not [https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb14-27.html vulnerable] and not on [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/blocked/ blocklist].
The 16.0.0.235 and 13.0.0.259 ESR can be found at
    https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
Use the version you think is best for your OS and hardware.
