Latest version PC Suite - new bluetooth connection...

Following installation of the Nokia PC Suite update onto my computer in April I can't get my 6288 to connect with my computer properly by bluetooth so as to enable me to syncronise my phone with outlook. I used to be able to do it no problem. Now, all I can do is connect with the computer using bluetooth via the bluetooth application on my computer or my phone but not using Nokia PC Suite. When I connect using my phone a message comes up telling me that I can transfer audio files only. PC Suite tells me that I do not have the correct hardware or software installed. Can anyone tell me what has happened and how to solve it? Should it be as simple as just reinstalling the latest update again - if so, this isn't working? Help desperately sought - many thanks.

I have the same problem and finally found a solution:
I tried a D-Link 122 with the software and an other Bluetooth device delivered with Bluesoleil sofware.
I give you the solution that finally works:
1.uninstall Nokia PC suite and the Blue tooth software and remove the usb dongle.
2. reboot yje PC and use an cleaner (CClaener or ncleaner).
3. reboot and insert the usb dongle.
4. DO NOT INSTALL ANY BLUETOOTH SOFTWARE (= no Bluesoleil or orther BT software), let windows find the drivers and install the hardware. (if the dongle is not windows supported.... buy a new one...).
5 Nokia install PC suite.
this works.

I'm having the same, identical problem. It goes into step 2 (backing up process) then it goes back to step one (finding iPad) and it starts over again. It will just keep doing that for 3 or 4 times until it will say "iPad not found". This is so frustrating.

Problems with PC Suite and bluetooth connection to...

Hi, I have the following:
Pentium 4 PC running Windows XP service pack 2
PC Suite 6.82.22.0
PC Connectivity Solution:
Version 6.43.9.0
Bluetooth stack:
Microsoft Bluetooth stack
Version 5.1.2600
Build 2180
I have had repeated problems trying to get a reliable connection between my 6230 and PC using Bluetooth. Actions so far:
- Uninstalled PC suite, ran the Cleaner, reinstalled
- Uninstalled IVT Bluesoleil
- Done battery reset on phone
- Restored factory settings on phone
- Set phone to auto-connect without confirmation
Restoring the factory settings worked -- but only for a few hours! If I so much as restore my ringtone I'm back to square one which is:
- PC suite recognises "Nokia 6230 connected via bluetooth"
- PC Sync either fails to recognise the connection at all, or completes with 0 contacts updated, or gives me an error "the mobile phone did not respond"
- Phone browser sometimes recognises the phone, and sometimes not. Trying to synch via the browser doesn't work.
- Music transfer starts out by recognising the phone, then stalls and loses the connection.
I can't restore factory settings every time I want to synch my contacts or move music/pictures -- life is much too short! Anybody have any other bright ideas?

If you are using memory card -> remove that from phone and then try to use PC Suite with your phone...does it help??
BTW: always when you try to use PC Sync, set phone's UI to idle state.

Nothing wierd on it.
This one kilo laptop has been wonderful for 1.5 years, though the "speaker" is inadequate. I just bought an excellent Yamaha Bluetooth stereo speaker, and paired it successfully.
HOWEVER, "pairing" doesn't last. After a few minutes, I can hear system sounds but not music or video.
I installed the K-Lite Codec Pack - no help. Various settings and driver configuration changes also make no difference.
Periodically I get an alert over the tray clock that says:
*AV automatic connection*
*Automatic connection failed*
Googling that, it appears to be a Toshiba+Bluetooth problem. That text string should point to a specific solution, but I haven't found it.
I assume there's a bad driver - can you help me locate and replace it?

Have you already checked if the *suitable default audio device* was selected:
*Control Panel > Sound, Speech, and Audio Devices >Sound and Audio Devices > Audio > Sound playback: Bluetooth Wave*
My NX-B02 Yamaha stereo speeker works fine (BTW an excellent speeker).
The used Bluetotoh stack version was 7.10.16 (download here: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/)
The setup was a breeze (set BT speeker pairable via long button press and right click the Bluetooth system tray icon and select Add New Connection).
The message "Automatic connection failed" appears only in my case if the Bluetooth speeker is off and the Bluetooth stack tries to connect it.
You can turn of the auto-connect function if you like as follows:
- Double click on the bluetooth system tray icon in order to open the Bluetooth Settings window.
- Right click on the yamaha icon > Details > uncheck "Automatic connection function will be validated.
If you just want to modify the connection settings then check the following settings:
- Right the Bluetooth system tray icon > Options...> Audio > AV Auto Connect Setting

Latest version (Nov 14) has bug - 'connecting' freezes until touch touch-pad.

This same bug occurred over a year ago. I was able to get around it then by reverting to a previous release and then ignoring any subsequent prompts to load latest release. Now am unable to to the same because of "security issues". I can live with security issues as long as I can connect normally.
Connecting was perfectly normal - I then applied the update as requested - and immediately there were problems. "Connecting" spins for a few seconds then stops. Touch the touch-pad and it "wakes up".

So the touchpad awakes the loading of the page, but the computer is not in sleep mode. This is odd. However you also mentioned that it happened a year ago and that you had tried to revert to a previous version.

Since I have loaded the latest version on my new computer, IE9 stopped working.

Latest version of itunes keeps crashing

installed latest version on a new pc and it constantly crashes. Its gone from staying open for up to 20 mins to shutting down almost instantly. Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? Ive tried reinstalling, even tried using an older version (which i couldnt install because the latest version has left traces somewhere).

Mine was doing the same after last update on a WIN 7 64 platform. Wouldn't open at all, or would open then crash immediately. Fixed it by follwing the instructions here to completely uninstall it and other parts......you MUST do it as instructed.

Latest version does not load web pages correctly with windows 8 system

I did a new install of Firefox (latest version) on a new Windows 8 laptop (I did not import anything). When I go to Hulu & Facebook (as an example, this happens to almost all sites I try to load) the pages do not load correctly, I get hyper links on the left side of the screen. If I refresh then the pages load correctly.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

The newer version is all about ads that will appear in the chat windows. I know because a month ago I had an automatic update of Skype and that was the only thing new and improved about it; so I immediately took the advice of other users and returned to my previous version of Skype. Now the commorades are forcing everyone to take the updated version by deactivating the previous NON-comercial version. This is like taping my eyelids opened forcing me to look at ads. I resent this as I resented losing Microsoft Instant messenger. This is a Plutocracy not a democracy that cherishes Liberty. Don't push too much or we might make a better communicator! Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

Not the iPad - your computer must be running iTunes 10.7 in order to sync. It has nothing to do with iTunes on the iPad.

Never mind, I think. I think I figured it out. There was 1 song (out of > 900!) that somehow had been purchased with the other ID - I have no idea how. Once I deleted that song, it stopped asking.
There may be something with the newest iTunes version too. I didn't think in older versions that the "On this iPod" list of songs was greyed out. But at least it syncs ok.
