Latest  Yahoo Messenger Audibles Issue:

Hello all,
Anybody having problems with audibles in Yahoo Messenger? I
recently did a slipstream install with SP2 and a package of updates
post SP2 along with Yahoo Messenger, Firefox and a host of other
programs. My problem is that I have the latest Flash Player
installed and seems to be working everywhere except for using Yahoo
audibles.
I've un-installed and re-installed both Flash (using
Un-installer) and Yahoo Messenger in addition to Mozilla Fire Fox.
Same problem remains! Can't use my audibles in Yahoo. When I try, I
get a message stating I need the latest version of Flash to be
installed. When I click on "Yes" to install it, nothing happens.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Well, of course after working on this problem for days I
finally decide to post. I ended up going to a website where IE7
prompted me to install an Active X aplet which must of had
something to do with Flash because my audibles are now working in
Yahoo Messenger 8. Just thought I would pass this on incase anybody
else runs into something similar..

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
See if Repair Disk Permissions takes care of this. Go to your Applications/Utilities folder and locate Disk Utility. Launch Disk Utility. Select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, then make sure the FirstAid tab is selected. Click Repair Disk Permissions. Takes about a minute or so depending on the size of the drive. When it's finished, from the Menu, click Disk Utility/Quit Disk Utility.
Now see if you can download Yahoo Messenger.
Tip: ALWAYS run Disk Utility (Repair Disk Permissions) BEFORE and AFTER doing any software download and installations. You will save yourself many a headache.

I had this exact same issue and just resolved it a minute ago.  Found this advice somewhere else and thought I would try it, and it worked!!
I went to my computer and logged into my yahoo on the website (not the messenger).  Took me a little bit, but I found the Account Information section (selected my name where it said "Hi My Name" , then went to Manage Apps and Web Connections.
You will see Yahoo! Mail for Rim/Blackerry listed there.  Click remove.  Don't worry.. things will be okay   Then go to  your blackberry, and log in to your yahoo messenger with your user ID and password, and VOILA!  It worked!!  And the Yahoo! Mail for Rim/Blackberry is given permission again on your yahoo.
Hope it works for you.. worked like a charm for me.

  • Previous Version of Yahoo Messenger (before 2.5)

Hi,  can anyone tell me where to download the previous version of yaho messenger?  I have several issue with the latest yahoo messenger (2.5.32 and all other 2.5 version) on my 8820.  I keep got disconnected and when I reconnect, the conversation group is empty.

See [[installing a previous version of Firefox]].
Possibly at some stage Yahoo will release an update to the toolbar so it works with Firefox again.
Update <br>Note Yahoo toolbar is being made compatible with Firefox 5, and it was hoped to have been done by 21st June. ([/forums/contributors/707024?last=40411#post-40357 see] ) Yahoo toolbar is therefore likely to become compatible very soon, if not already.

  • Logging Issue, Can't Disable - Yahoo Messenger

Hello everyone, I recently had a problem with Yahoo Messenger and contacted Yahoo about it and was told to send them a Log of the program, by enabling the logging feature via Terminal with the following steps:
+"To help me investigate the issue, I'll need you to send me a diagnostic+
    +log file. Here's how:+
    +1. Enable diagnostic logging:+
+a. Quit Yahoo! Messenger for Mac.+
+b. Launch the "Terminal" program located in Applications -> Utilities.+
+c. Copy and paste each of the following commands into the Terminal.+
    +Press <Return> after pasting each command.+
    +defaults write com.yahoo.messenger3 EnableRMPLogging -bool YES+
    +defaults write com.yahoo.messenger3 LogLevel all+
    +defaults write com.yahoo.messenger3 LogPath ~/Desktop/ym.log+
+2. Now that diagnostic logging has been enabled, try to repeat the issue+
    +you're experiencing with Yahoo! Messenger.+
    +3. Disable diagnostic logging:+
+a. Quit Yahoo! Messenger for Mac.+
+b. Launch the "Terminal" program located in Applications -> Utilities.+
+c. Copy and paste each of the following commands into the Terminal.+
    +Press <Return> after pasting each command.+
    +defaults delete com.yahoo.messenger3 LogLevel+
    +defaults write com.yahoo.messenger3 EnableRMPLogging -bool NO"+
Now, after completing the last 2 terminal steps just shown above and deleting the original "ym.log" file on my desktop, every time I open up Yahoo Messenger, a blank "ym.log" now appears on my desktop.
Anyone know what step is missing to turn this log feature off in Terminal?
    Please help.

Well, after some extensive research and digging through old forum posts on several Mac forums, I found out that I was modifying the Preferences file under Users for Yahoo Messenger.
Basically just deleted the file, restarted and the command was no longer active and the logging no longer active.
Hope this helps others who may encounter the same problem.

  • Yahoo Messenger App Technical Issues

I have a white Apple iPod with the iOS 5.1.1
I also have the Yahoo Messenger App installed on my device.
Threw the app I can recieve pictures fine but I cannot send pictures. I choose to send pictures threw the existing ones on the iPod device but the person I am sending it to says nothing comes up on their screen.
I have contacted Yahoo over this problem and they gave me a list of steps which I have taken. They said to update my iOS which I think 5.1.1 is the current one right? Then they said to sign in and hit reset yahoo. Which I tried. Then they said to completely uninstall and reinstall the App. Which I'm sure I did I just touched the icon until it wiggled then I hit the x. Then I just reinstalled from the app store. From the app store is just said install though and not get app...don't know if that makes a difference. But anyways after taking all their steps I still cannot send pictures using the app to people on my friends list. They finally told me to contact apple support, So here I am wondering how do I fix this app?
They told me this was a known issue with the old iOS so that's why they keep stressing me to update my iOS but when I hit software update on the iPod it says I'm running the current one being 5.1.1 so I'm just confused and could use a little help.
    Thank you
And if you need anymore info let me know.

Could someone please suggest something or should I go threw apple support?

  • A Yahoo Messenger Issue with msn contacts

HI just a quick question … in Yahoo Messenger I can video chat with my msn contacts the options are shown in grey and unusable. Is this normal and if not can I "fix" this?

    Greetings

Sorry thats supposed to say I CAN'T video chat with my msn contacts!

  • After I downloaded the new version of Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.262, I can't seem to play games with my friends on Yahoo Messenger.

It could be a coincidence but when I upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.262 I can't seem to play any games on Yahoo Messenger with my friends. I know when I updated for some reason I had to try 3 times before it took it. It shows it's updated. I'm wondering if I have to un-install and re-install it. Also, I never use Internet Explorer 8 but when I went in there to check I found a plug in check link there and it showed over there that Adobe Flash Player needed updating but it was an older version and not the one Foxfire had me update too. Now I'm really confused if this is causing a problem. I have never had to check Internet Explorer for plug ins before. Have always just updated in Foxfire since that's what I use. The Adobe Flash Player seems to play videos okay so not really sure if that's the issue or not. My Java plug-ins have been fine and have been updated awhile ago, so I know it's not that. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Well, after hours of trying to figure it out I gave up and un-installed and re-installed that last verion of Adobe Flash Player and now it seems I can play games again in Messenger. Everything else had been fine just that. I can only figure it was because it was having a hard time updating the first time and took me 3 tries. So even though it said it was installed, apparently it wasn't done correctly.
Though when I couldn't figure out what was wrong at first I looked and checked to see all the things were enabled that were supposed to be and they were.
I even tried to go to the Adobe site and download the last version I had and couldn't find it. Kept coming up with the new version. Others said if you download a particular older version it may not have all the security features in it.
This really gets to be a bit much, especially when you're by yourself and have only a smattering of knowledge of technical things.
Thanks fore responding to my question.

Airprint is for IOS devices and thus has no relevance to this issue.
Connect the printer to your Wireless Network and use Bonjour to detect nd connect it.
That's wrong. AirPrint is not just for iOS devices. Since HP doesn't provide drivers for this printer, they say to use AirPrint:

    Thanx in advance

    Hi jaliyahya,
Do you subscribe to a BlackBerry data plan? Are you able to use other BlackBerry IM clients?
If so, try reinstalling the latest version of Yahoo IM by going to www.blackberry.com/im on your device browser.
If it still fails you may want to contact your wireless service provider.

  • Yahoo Messenger (Sprint Pre): No account button! only one Y! at a time?

    Hi,
I have a Sprint Pre, and I have a Yahoo IM account set up in my Messaging application. Works great, tho sometimes it does take a long time to sign in or needs me to sign out then try signing back in for it to succeed in signing in.
When I go to Accounts and Preferences, and go to the Add Account menu, I only see two buttons, one for adding a google account and one for adding an AIM account.
I'm just checking: should I see an option to add a Yahoo IM account also? or does the fact that I already have one set up mean that I can't add another one, and the button not being there is a reflection of that?
I'm a little nervous in case I ever had to delete the Yahoo IM account or if I ever have to re-setup the account. If I do, will that button be there again?

Yahoo Messenger isn't natively supported on the Palm Pre/Pixi, and all signs point to it not ever happening. This is a known issue and has befuddled Palm users since the device came out. There is yet to be any work-arounds that I'm aware of.
When you say "messaging application", what app are you using specifically?

  • Problem with Yahoo Messenger for Blackberry 10

    Hi Blackberry Team,
I've recently encountered a problem with Yahoo Messenger 10.1.0.88 on my Blackberry Q10 running OS 10.1.0.4181 software. It had been working fine for like a month after I purchased this phone from the authorized shop in Thailand until a few days ago it started showing the message within seconds after signed-in: 'Your connectino to the instant messaging provider has been lost. You can wait for the connection to be re-established or close the application and try logging in later'.
This is only when I'm on 3G cellular network. It works fine through Wi-Fi connection.
I did some research on website and found that the latest version of Yahoo Messenger for Blackberry is actually 10.1.1.16 released on Sep 30th, 2013 but, for some unknown reasons, my Blackberry World only shows the '10.1.0.88' (which already installed on my phone) as the latest version.
I really need this for work as I'm communicating with international bankers over yahoo. Please help look into this problem and get it fixed at your earliest possible. Thank you.

I have the same problem with my z10 always unknown error it getting me crazy

  • Yahoo messenger

Ok, this problem has the gotten the better of me and I have been in computers as a consultant for 15 years. Need some help....new to Macs though,
Verizon DSL with Actiontel 704-wg dsl wireless gateway.
I have two computers, one XP Pro - yahoo messenger works perfectly.
On my Macbook, Y-IM doesn't work and yet it is going through the same firewall the XP machine uses. I have tried to open Yahoo TCP ports specifically for the macbook - no good. I have tried disabling the Macbook firewall. I have tried opening specific ports in the macbook firewall as well, both dont work. I opened 5000-5010, 5061, 5050.
If I set Y-IM Mac to "proxy" I can get in but I tested it and found that what I type in Yahoo on my XP box takes at least 3-4 mins to show up on Yahoo IM Mac version.
This s driving me nuts. I have reinstalled, upgraded Yahoo IM, Downgraded it, turned firewalls off, connected via hardwire and wireless - all the same result. I have deleted plist, etc etc etc.
This SEEMS to have started happening after or around the same time that I downloaded Safari beta.
    Any help would be appreciated
    RIch

Thanks for all the replies. I put an smc firewall in place between the IBM and the dsl router and bmped up the security to prevent issues with hackers hijacking smtp that I noticed in my smtp logs. I then connected my macbook via the wireless network that is not on the same segment as the smc firewall. I lowered security on the dsl router and I am now able to get back in to Y-IM. I then enabled the Mac firewall in hopes that is enough to keep my mac secure wth such low dsl firewall settings.
It's a round about way to do things, but it now works on both platforms.
To the reply that I expect Y-IM to work the same on both platforms"...no, not really, but having it at least WORK on the mac would help in the comparison.
