Latex in sparc solaris 10 cannot view the the files

Hello,
I downloaded the tetex package from sunfreeware.com and get can latex to run to get the desired file.
However, if I use xdvi to view the generated file, the fonts in the file looks a messy.
Is there any special fonts I missed to install or the environment setting is not missed to set?

When you get the blank page, it usually indicates that Firefox is trying to fire up the PDF plugin but something has gone wrong. Unlike some plugins that crash and burn and get restarted, I don't think Firefox is able to detect this problem. Other than reloading, the best approach would be to download those particular PDFs.
If it happens a lot, you could give up on the plugin and launch the PDF in Adobe Reader. (This is my preference.)

In the search box, type pdf and pause while the list is filtered. Then change the drop-down to Always Ask.
If that doesn't work, you might need to change a setting in Adobe Reader, but that would affect IE the same way. Edit > Preferences > Internet > ''uncheck'' Display PDF in browser
(I used to get a lot of blank pages for PDFs in IE before I switched to Firefox. Long ago, I configured Adobe Reader to open PDFs outside the browser, so I haven't had that problem for the past 10 years. This isn't ideal for everyone, but it saved my sanity.)

Downloaded, unzipped, installed latest Camera Raw, but still cannot view D300 NEF files

I have CS3 running on a 32-bit Windows Vista computer. I downloaded the latest Camera Raw plug-in, unzipped it, and installed it, but I still cannot view my Nikon D300 NEF files. I have made sure that I only have the one plug-in mentioned. I went to CS3 Bridge and made sure that Raw is enabled in Preferences. Anyone got any ideas?
BTW, don't know if it matters, but I use Irfanview as my regular picture viewer.

Please excuse my inexperience, but I, too, am having a difficult time with this issue. I am trying to view RAW images on CS3 from a D300 Nikon camera. My D70 images are fine in CS3, but not the D300 images. I have downloaded and downloaded ACR 4.6 and made sure it is in the path you suggested, but I am getting the same message, "file is not the correct type." I have Windows 7 on a HP desktop computer. I am also receiving an error message when I open Bridge, which tells me, more or less, that Bridge is not compatible with the OS on the HP. Don't know what else to do...

I cannot view my source files - all are white!!!!!

I got Premiere Elements v 9.0 installed on Windows XP last week by IT dept. But something is wrong.
I cannot view any .wmv or .mov files (havent tried any more yet). I add my clips to the project but when playing them all I get is a white screen. In timeline I can see snapshot images as usual.
Can you help us with some hints? I doubt there are any experienced moviemakers at IT at all. I probably need to get the fix and tell them what to do.
The project settings seems perfect. The clip I added in timeline "shows green" (no rendering needed). So I doubt that is the problem.
Please help - I need to start up a real project this week.

When one encounters display issues, the first thing that I recommend checking is the video card/chip's video driver.
What make/model of video display adapter do you have?
What is the currently installed video driver?
Can you go to the video card/chip mfgr's. We site, plug in your card/chip's number, and your OS, and check for an updated driver?
Note: do not trust Windows, or any utility, to tell you if you have the latest video driver. They will be at least 6 mos. out of date.
Note also: if you have a Dell, Lenovo, HP, Toshiba, or other mainstream computer company's system, check on their Web sites, as many re-wrap video drivers from nVidia, ATI/AMD and Intel. If you have an Intel integrated graphics chip, you might have difficulty finding a newer driver, but still look for one.
Do you have a laptop, or desktop computer?

Canon 6d camera. Cannot view CR2 Raw files in my iMac folders.

I have just updated my camera from Canon 500D to 6D full frame and I am unable to view any of the raw files in the Mac pictures files. I don't use iphoto or aperture preferring to use the in built pictures folders.
I had Photoshop Elements 9 and have updated to Elements 12. If I say take twenty raw images and load into my iMac they show up as a thumbnail with an image number and not a lot else. This is clearly not helpful when trying to view images before editing. Yes I can use Canon software DPP but hey ho I like the Apple pictures folders for storing my images. The raw CR2 files from the 6D are of course different to the CR2 files that I used to create on my old camera 500D
Can someone help so I can actually see a thumbnail of the actual raw images in my iMac pictures folders?

I'm having this problem as well. I have had my 6d for a while and it worked fine before the software upgrade a few weeks ago.
I can get my pictures imported into iPhoto, but they only import as JPG, not the RAW files that sit in the camera. Before the software upgrage, I could get the mac to recognise the Canon 6d and import the RAW files directly from it. Now I can't get the mac to recognise the camera at all.
I want to process in Lightroom but they import as jpgs and they all just look wrong!

KM Repository cannot view or upload files

Hi everyone,
I'm having a strange problem in KM. One of the repositories is mapping the folders and files on the server correctly but when I try to upload a file or view one that is stored, I get an error. When I try to upload a file, I get an access denied error in the portal. When I try to open a file (eg. an Excel spreadsheet), I get a "500 Internal Server error". I'm using an administrative user so I know it isn't a permissions issue. Also, I know that the file server is operating and online. There is another repository that is mapped to the same server that is working just fine.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be going on? Why is it that I can see the files and folder structure but I can't view or upload files? Thanks in advance.

In general if we look "500 Internal Server error" the status code relate to An internal error occurred on the server. This may be because of an application error or configuration problem.
Please check on that side, if you mis any setting or permissions

Cannot view TIF, TIFF files,

Just installed Itunes w/quicktime. Now I cannot open any of my TIF or TIFF files that were able to be viewed with Microsoft Picture viewer. Seems to default to Quicktime, but screen is blank. Any ideas?

Yeah, after I posted this I remembered about the possibility of Windows file associations, and thought I should have checked on that too. Hadn't got back to do anything about it though.
(On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I've gotten the QuickTime PictureViewer and the QuickTime Player to display tiffs in the past during the course of some testing ... so given that this chap's getting a blank QT screen (of some description) when trying to open the files, I'm wondering if something else might be afoot too.)
I've only got the XP Pro box on hand for a few hours, so I'll have to wait a short while before doublechecking how file association works on a Vista box. Then I'll pop back with instructions. (Or if someone else with a Vista box can drop by with instructions on changing a file association, that would be lovely.)

Chrome uses it's own pdf viewer. That's why you don't get the message.
If you are still having the problem on a Mac try:
Make sure your files are not hidden : http://osxdaily.com/2009/02/25/show-hidden-files-in-os-x/
Quit Safari and Adobe Reader if running.
Go to HD/<Users>/<user name>/Library/Preferences/ delete com.adobe.Reader.plist
Launch Adobe Reader from /Applications/
You should be prompted to accept EULA.
If on a Windows machine, do what Bernd described above. Launch Adobe Reader on it's own, not by double clicking a pdf or a link in a browser.

Cannot view a pdf file in Adode Reader 10 using IE8

I just upgraded to Adobe reader X and I use IE8. I click on a link to a pdf (which contains a table of contents) but rather than being able to view the pdf, it automatically prompts me to "save as" rather than just leave the window open so I can read the page (and use the disk button I used to see on reader 9 to save later if I want). How do I change the settings in Reader 10 so this Save As.. prompt no longer comes up automatically so I can just view the pdf??

Cannot view PDF portfolio files

Hi,
I am running Adobe Acrobat 10.1.3 on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.
There is a regularly updated PDF portfolio file that I view from a suppliers webpage, it is usually around the 200 - 300 page mark. When I open this in Acrobat I get a quick glimpse of all the bookmarks in the document as well as the first page, but then this disappears and all I see are 5 documents that have nothing to do with what I am meant to be viewing. I have never used these other documents in question so don't know where they have come from.
It does this when I view the document in the webpage, as well as downloading it.
I have another Windows 7 Professional 32-bit computer with Adobe Reader 10.1.3 which does the same.
I do not know how the portfolio was created.
I currently use Foxit reader to view this file as Foxit just opens the PDF as one large document and shows every page which is what I want. Also Foxit does not show the 5 documents I mentioned in the above.
Can portfolio mode be turned off in Acrobat as this may solve the problem?

I have found that the document was created in Apache FOP then edited using iText (according to the document properties).
I've discovered how to view the main document in Acrobat, I have to select View / Portfolio / Cover Sheet. Looks like the main document gets saved as the cover sheet. I have also found in Foxit where to view the 5 attachments (in attachment view).
Anyway I'll keep using Foxit as this does what I want.
