Latex2html and kile

Hi guys,
i'm struggling to make latex2html working on kile. I need to export my doc in html.
I realized that kile provides support to this extension, but, after installing (latex2html) it does not work. I mean, it doesn't from kile, but it does from shell.
I also checked which command kile is executing and is the same in shell:
latex2html '/home/.../texfile.tex'
when executing from kile (button named: "Latex to Web", it finishes with the following error messages:
[LaTeX to Web] finished with exit code 255
What does it mean? i cannot find anything similar on web!
Is there a way to make it work?
By the way it works from shell...!
Thanks in advance

When I first installed texlive, when it was installing the packages, appeared some error messages, because /opt/texlive wasn't in the $PATH; so after I installed, re-logged and reinstalled it. I don't if I really had to, but is working.
After install, I also rm my ~/.texmf-var dir because of some errors when running mktexfmt.

In response to the thread above because I've left it too long to reply... I've recently got back from two weeks in Tanzania climbing Meru (4560m) and Kili (5895m). I spent a total of 9 days above 3000m (the stated operating limit of iPod touch/iPhone) and the iPhone functioned correctly (it turned itself off once at 3400m on a day I'd climbed 1000m vertically but turned straight back on and worked) and I used the MotionX GPS software to keep track of my route at various points. I also took many photos and video throughout the days.
Of course using a device outside it's spec is at your own risk but was fine for me.
I'm out in the Khumbu region in October and will spend about 16 days above 3000m then.
The iPhone draws battery power so much faster than the iPod so I was very low on power by the end but using a PowerMonkey eXplorer greatly extended the battery life.
    Anyone else had any experiences?
    mrtotes

My colleague took his to Mt. Blanc.
    Worked fine.
I've found many things I own work way beyond the posted specs.
He also took it to Antarctica. Cold as ** and it performed fine there too.
The coldest mine got was playing hockey - cold, but not the pole!

  • Packages Wish-Slip

Wish-Slip...weird word, took it out of a dictionairy
I'm curious as to what packages other people would like to see in Arch Linux which aren't in it now. I figure not every user is experienced enough to be able to build their own packages. Not that I can do anything about getting them into Arch (except maybe package a few), but ... oh what the heck...Just put them under this topic, and who knows, maybe Santa will give you a nice present some day
Here's a few from the top of my head:
latex2html, and a TeX distribution like TeTeX (good luck to the packager )
    gnumeric
    openoffice
aumix with GTK support (i have a package ready for this, but wonder why the official aumix is compiled without GTK)
    buzzword kernel (low-latency, preemptible)
and of course the ones i submitted to incoming already (easytag, flac, id3lib, lsof, wmbiff and wmitime)

    makepkg works fine with cvs
    example for gaim:
    # Contributor: Jochem Kossen <[email protected]>

    pkgver=cvs.`date +%Y.%m.%d`
    pkgrel=1
    pkgdesc="A GTK+-based messaging client"

  • Latex2word

I am trying to make a MS word version of my dissertation which is in LaTeX. I wrote it in TeXShop. I tried to use latex2rtf and latex2html and neither really worked. I think I need a package manager because I think lots of programs are missing.
Has anyone gotten this to work, or can they suggest a package manager. If I use macports, will it destroy my WikiMedia install?

I was able to get this working use latex2rtf, I had to install macports to get this to work.

  • Texlive-core 2013.30962-1 and latex2html 2008-2 incompatible?

    Hi,
I was trying to make a tex document that was building ok before the texlive-updates. Now it generates an error:
! LaTeX Error: File `verbatimfiles.sty' not found.
verbatimfiles.sty is part of the latex2html package which is installed on my system.
I upgraded the texlive-most group to the version in testing and overwrote the old files with the pacnews before running "fmtutil --all"
    as root like stated here:
    https://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail … 25174.html
So all should be done as needed.

middlle of the data insert into main table and footer data insert in another table it all happen one attempt by using file read Adapter(11.1.1.1.3)

You have a header parameter in the file datastore. You can provide any number to skip rows from top of the file. For footer you can create a filter in staging area.
Filter coould be something like this.
    where source_alias.source_column not like '%FOOTER_OR_ANY_VALUE_AS_PER_YOUR_REQ'

    After searching around a bit, I found http://www.archlinux.org/news/having-pa … -packages/
I tried that, but I think it doesn't apply to me, as I've installed Arch just last week. Running
    pacman-key --init
    pacman-key --populate archlinux
does not give me pacman.conf.pacnew, as I think is to be expected as I already started with an up to date pacman, right?
The contents of my pacman.conf are here: http://pastie.org/private/w5iwbcwknmaiffhxchzekq
I tried throwing away the packages with "pacman -Sc kile" and reinstalling with "pacman -S kile", same result.
Any ideas how to resolve this issue?
(Probably unrelated, but I'm running Arch in a VirtualBox, with xfce, Linux version 3.5.4-1-ARCH)

karol wrote:1. You should run 'pacman -Sc' not 'pacman -Sc foo'. 'foo' doesn't do anything here (no harm either) as 'pacman -Sc' doesn't take arguments.
    2. The issue you faced has been covered in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pa … 9.22_error (next to last question) yet people keep banging their heads against it. Have you read the 'Troubleshooting' part of Arch wiki article on pacman? Was there anything unclear? Maybe we can phrase it better?
I did not have *.part files, only 0-byte-files with the correct name, so that solution does not apply to my problem. Besides, the problem I had was that pacman said "Signature from "User <[email protected]>" is unknown trust, installation failed", so I tried the solution above the one you mentioned, which failed. As soon as I understood something was wrong with my cached files, it was solved quite easily.

Its really a matter of taste, really. KDE is know to be configurable like hell, GNOME very easy to use, and XFCE lightweitgh.
Keep in mind that whatever desktop environment (DE) you choose, you can use any application in any DE. For example, firefox, a "GTK" application, works without problem under KDE. Or Kile, a latex front-end for KDE, works perfect under Gnome.
Personnally I prefer KDE. But I mostly prefer KDE applications like the editors (Kate/Kwrite) and file manager (dolphin).
KDE is slower to start on my EeePC (really small machine) but because it is full featured, I can cut on number of packages installed, so in the end, with the same functionality, I have more room on my disk then using XFCE!
Just try them, and choose the one you like

  • Command + R (Refresh) not working in Safari and Firefox need Help!

I been having trouble with Command + R (Refresh) in Safari and Firefox for a while, I used to have a MBP 2006 intel 2.4 running Leopard when the problem started, but since I was planning to change to a new computer I didn't pay much attention.
Recently I got a MBP w/ Retina and migrated the info from my old Mac to the new one, and it seem like the Command + R problem to refresh in Safari and Firefox has been brought with the migration.
Another pointer is that I have my mac setup in Spanish although it was setup in English before. This does not seem to be the problem.
Any Ideas on how can I solve this?
    Than in advance.

Recently Safari started slowing and presenting the infamous spinning wheel of death whenever page has anything flash in it. Since many pages have ads coming in on flash many pages are effected. I almost thought that I had a virus on machine, being a PC guy for 20 plus year prior you can get, pun intended, flashbacks of deadly blue screen etc. Was happening on both my machines readily apparent on homepage msnbc and the like. I cleared caches etc etc infinitum thought I was back on Windows for a minute. I know from listening to various Mac tech shows on twit.tv that Apple apparently is not fond of flash programming as evidenced that flash not on Itouch or Ipad. But what, trying to kil it on regular machines?
When I first came to apple a couple years ago I was using Google Chrome browser on MSFT macines and loved it but atthe time Chrom did not make Mac version. I used Safari and was happy enough UNTIL LATELY with it not to bother with other browsers. NO MORE, so went hunting and happily found that Chrome for Mac available. AMAZINGLY no problems so far msnbc loads, without exaggeration, TEN times faster than on safari, no spiining wheels of death EVERYTHING faster like someone gave my Mac's a B12 shot and restored them to how they used to be. Easily transferred all favorites over simple import.
So far only down side I have found was that bank statement pdf downloads and the like that Safari had bottom screen popup to one click download not on Chrome and print to pdf doesn't seem to do it right so far but I amstill playing. So when I do bank statements I fire up Sarari and suffer the speed.
There is no reason for this APPLE!!! If you are not going to have Safari be the best browser out there for a mac then you should dump it and recommend sometghign else. Please don;t be like MSFT and Internet Explorer junk!

  • Some materials are used by WM and some materials are not used by WM in SLOC

    Dear Experts.
We are going to use WM in F100 Storage Location.
But because of business, Some materials(A) will be managed by WM and some materials(B) will be not managed by WM in same storage location.
So some materials(A) have WM view in material master and some materials(B) have no WM view.
But when posting GR for material(B), error occurs.
    the message is as below.
Material 6850009 does not exist in warehouse F01
    Message no. L9023
    Diagnosis
All the materials that you use within a warehouse number must also be defined for this warehouse number.  The material you are using is not defined.
    Procedure
If you want to use the material within your warehouse number, you must create the material in the material segment for that warehouse number.
Let me know how to fix it.
We are going to use WM in A sloc.
In A Sloc, some material are managed by WM level and some material are managed by only MM level.
    Thank you in advance.
    Best reagrds,
    Kil-Nam

You assign a warehouse to a storage location, which means that the entire storage location is warehouse managed. all materials in this storage location have to have a WM view,
It is not possible to decide it on material level if it is subject to WM or not.
You have to create an extra storage location for the non-WM-materials  to meet your requirement

  • [SOLVED] Phonon and libkhtml

    Hello,
Due to delay in hardware repair, I did not update my Arch box since early september.
Now I have the machine back and updated my installation.
All seems well, except for one problem that I don't understand:
Since the updates were installed, I get the following error message from various KDE applications:
symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.5: undefined symbol: _ZN6Phonon19AbstractMediaStream8needDataEx
The message is thrown by Konqueror, but also by many other applications at startup (most important: Kile, which I really need for work).
Except for Konqueror this leads to non-starting applications.
I have installed the phonon-gstreamer backend as well as the phonon-mplayer-git backend. I also tried installing the phonon-vlc backend.
Can somebody point me to the reason of the error?

Didn't notice any errors during the update process.

  • Kile: language-specific quotation marks

    Hi,
There's a choice of double quote substitutes for different languages under Configure->LaTeX->General. No Russian ones << and >>, though. Should be no problem because some other editors handle them out of the box, and quite smartly, just with the right layout. I checked kilerc file, no quote info. Where am I supposed to look?

    Well, that's bad.
What's about that sidebar stuff leocp1 mentioned?
If this also doesn't work, probably the direct use of the « » glyphs characters (instead of the LICR-objects "< ">) would be a better deal. You might need \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} then. -- Try to produce these without kile; I don't know about your keyboard layout, but maybe there are matching AltGr-combinations. Or use helpers like xbindkeys. Alternatively let finally e.g. sed parse your source file for character (string) replacements.
Otherwise I don't know, consider changing your latex editor though.
Edit just for clarification: One gets different glyphs of the same character, when it's displayed in different fonts!
And, I can't help it -- according to this table French and Russian quotes look the same in shape, except the French have some extra padding. Maybe the Russian are shorter? Do both have the same or different Unicode codepoints? -- Or try a different font.

Welcome to Arch -- I assume you have not used Arch before?
You might want to read a little about Arch: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_Linux
    And "The Arch Way": https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/The_Arch_Way
Specifically the part about how Arch is "user centric" and not necessarily "user friendly":
Arch Linux targets and accommodates competent GNU/Linux users by giving them complete control and responsibility over the system.
Arch Linux users fully manage the system on their own. The system itself will offer little assistance, except for a simple set of maintenance tools that are designed to perfectly relay the user's commands to the system. Arch developers do not expend energy re-inventing GUI system tools; Arch is founded upon sensible design and excellent documentation.
Arch will be what you make it. Consult the wiki:
    wacom tablet: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wacom_Tablet
    openbox: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Openbox
    texlive: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Texlive
    eclipse: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Eclipse
Do you see the pattern here? Read the wiki. Inform yourself. Make your own decisions. Arch is a "help yourself" distro.

  • Pure and fast photo tagging application to replace digikam?

    Hello,
after all the aKonadi related mess I've finally left KDE - now I'm a very happy Awesome user, wondering why I had not discovered it earlier.
So far I've replaced most of my 'unreplaceable' stuff, like kmail, kile and k3b. The last and only thing that forces me to use kdelibs with all the dependencies is Digikam.
I use it, hovewer, in a very narrow way - only to tag images and (later) search them. As I work only with RAWs, my workhorse is RawTherapee, which - unortunately - has no database features.
So I'm looking for an application which could replace Digikam in its tagging-and-searching role. It doesn't need to have any photo importing/editing/exporting features, but it should be able to manage the tags database well, as my way of organizing photos is tag-centered.
Does such application exist? I've done some searching, but so far the only one that seems to fit my needs is... Digikam
I'm stuck with this problem, so all hints will be very appreciated
    greetings,
    Paweł

Well, I won't say you're totally wrong, because I can agree with your argumentation in some points.
From my point of view, however, you made wrong assumptions.
When F-Spot, digiKam, KPhotoAlbum and so on exist, why should someone waste developing time to write a new one instead to increase the usability of the existing one?
    1) F-Spot and Digikam are big applications, with image importing, editing and exporting features. I don't need this functionality. Tagging and searching is everything I am looking for.
A GTK+ version of KPhotoAlbum - that's my target, I think. And I'm very surprised that it doesn't yet exist.
If I used all features of Digikam, I'd probably won cry about it's dependencies.
    2) People do really write new applications similar to those which exist. Look how many window managers, image viewers, web browsers - and even programming languages! - we have now. If you had been right, we would still be using Mosaic 19 or Netscape Navigator 11 to browse the web.
And the web browsers are good example I think. We already had Firefox and Opera, but then Chromium arised, and many people found it to be better. And I personally use jumanji.
It's all about having the choice.
When you decide to use a lightweight environment you also have to accept that you dont have much features.
    3) In fact I use this light environment (Awesome) because it better fits to my needs. It is extremely fast, it has proper multihead implementation, it supports tiling perfectly, it is easy scriptable with lua... Neither KDE nor Gnome can compete in these categories.
I'm not a kind of person who likes to complicate his life, but after transition from KDE i clearly see that I have more important features here, and my environment is closer to perfect now.
And in my search of purity, simplicity, but also usability I currently have only one, last obstacle - the photo tagging application
