Latin America don't exist to Steve Jobs?

Why we don't have Mac Store on internet?
Why we can't buy song in iTunes store?
Why in Venezuela the Time Zone is not correct?
Why Latin America don't have any iPhone?
WHY?
P.D. : Am a Steve Jobs fan...

Hi, Hush17277 -
Re being able to access the Apple Store on the internet, you should be able to access the main Apple Store via the "Store" link at the top of this page - unless your country's government has required that the ISP's which operate there restrict access to it. As to being able to make a purchase, however, that depends upon credit card agreements between card issuers and nations - this has nothing to do with Apple.
Re the ability to purchase songs from iTunes, apparently that is a matter of permissions from the particular nations' governments involved as well as licensing-for-sale restrictions by the publishers of the music. It is only relatively recent that such became available in Europe and Canada. This, too, is not an Apple issue - I suspec that if it were up to Apple, there would be no obstacles to anyone purchasing songs from the iTunes Store anywhere in the world.
Re the Venezuela time zone question, apparently Venezuela has decided to go its own way -
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7134927.stm
- there is no way that Apple, nor any other computer or software vendor, could have forseen that happening.
Re the iPhone, its availability is subject to obtaining agreements between Apple and cellphone service providers. If no service provider in a given area is willing to enter into an agreement with Apple, at terms sufficiently advantageous to both parties, then the iPhone will not be available in that area. In addition, most nations' governments have a say in approving such agreements; if a nation's government declines to approve such an agreement, it won't happen.
There are a lot of international contact points available for Apple products. These pages list many of them -

  • Adobe:  Show Steve Jobs who's boss.

    Adobe,
You, like many of us must be angry at Apple right now after the recent ban on 3rd party (flash) created i-phoine apps just days before the public unveiling of your new Creative Suite.  I could only image the number of man hours put in by your flash team to get the i-phone app compiler into CS5.
I do not like Steve Jobs anymore.  His open arogence and passive agressive maliciousness are beyond acceptable.
Would it be too much to ask if every application in CS5 could be released only for PC?  Sure, most people who use CS would have to buy a new computer, but it wouldn't be a mac, so it would be pretty cheap.  As a PC and Mac and Adobe user I can say there is no reason what-so-ever for Macs to be the standard for adobe products anymore.  Processor speeds, graphics cards and memory are all so high now that it just doesn't matter if you are using a mac or PC.
I know this may hurt your sales at first, but don't worry, it'll be ok.  Adobe products are the industry standard for all forms of multimedia development and the alternatives are either non-existent or crude and lacking.  You own the market.  Your customers will switch to PC if that is what you dictate.  They will have no choice; Their livelihoods/jobs all depend on your products.  In the end Apple will lose allot more money then you, which is all that matters to me anymore.  Someone needs to bring Steve Jobs down a notch and you have the power to do it.

The problem with Adobe Products is that most people use them without adequate training. A little study of various manuals, seminars and online tutorials can make one good and be able to solve those small glitches.
I don't have any problem with the CS3 as the integration is unique and unequalled by any other company. The shortcomings are the Non Realtime playback in PPro. but it renders very fast and also not accepting Inscriber CG and Title Deko like 6.5 but Photoshop, Fireworks and Afterfx are there.
Imagine this guy saying of the so called University removing Adobe Products
"Most people can not even install the latest software because of the changes to adobes install programs."
The Adobe installtion is still the same and I think the guy can not read or is new to Computers. Read the manuals Please

  • Steve Jobs Keynote and the ipod

I was wondering how steve jobs gets the screen to mirror the screen of the touch (or any ipod) Can I do this? Also, How does he hide icons?
    http://www.bottlebabie.com/Temp/Picture%201.png

    Jaz Dude,
First, the Keynote was done before YouTube was announced as a feature of the iPhone, and before the iTunes WiFi store, those icons weren't hidden, they just didn't exist on the iPhone.
Second, when he first connects the iPhone during the Keynote presentation he states it is a special unit for doing those kinds of demonstrations.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • A major black eye for Apple and Steve Jobs - an update on activation issues

I am at 30 hours and still waiting for activation!
I have spent over 7 hours on the phone between yesterday and today trying to get my phone activated. I have been talking to AT&T and Apple and I have wasted my day on hold. No one seems to know what the issue is and everyone keeps telling my they are sorry. I am a current AT&T customer and they deactivated my old phone immediately.
I was on the phone with Apple earlier today for over an hour and the rep had to work with AT&T and still could not correct my activation. She "promised" to call back before 7pm PDT to see if my issue was resolved and I should have known better since of course no call was received. I really was not expecting the call but it should never have been offered.
Throughout my numerous calls I was informed that this was becoming a major issue for AT&T and Apple as the day was progressing and that they had numerous people working on the problem.
Where has Apple and AT&t been in all this? Steve Jobs has been promoting the heck out of his product and now he is no where to be found. No statements addressing the issues on either of their web sites. During my last conversation with AT&T, the rep informed me that at 10:36 CDT she received an update from Apple saying that they are trying to resolve the issues and that it may take 24-48 more hours to resolve. The AT&T rep also informed me that they it AT&T was informed by Apple that the issues with activation are coming from the Apple side.
I know that this is a new product and glitches will happen. But Apple created the hype and they should have been prepared.
In the meantime, I will be charged an activation fee even though I cannot activate and I have wasted my weekend with Apple.
I have a feeling this will become a bigger story on Monday when more stories get out to the press and Mr. Jobs returns from celebrating his "succesful" launch. This is a very frustrating experience and this will probably be my last Apple purchase (I own numerous Apple items).
    Good luck to everyone else.
    I h

Sorry to hear about all your issues. I am about in the same boat. But, I think mines kinda worse..
Got my phone last night, got the typical Your activation requires additional time. Spoke with an AT&T rep about 4pm this afternoon. He said he would push the activation and give it up to 2 hours more.. Great! 5 hours later and nothing. So I call the 877 number, option 3 to check activation status.... Your phone is activated and you should be able to use all features.. WHAT?! I look at my phone.. I still have a globe telling me to activate iphone, connect to iTunes.. Im 45 mins on hold waiting for a rep again and im more mad then it would have been if it said it was still processing! I understand glitches, and I expected a few issues, but nothing like this..
And as i am typing i just got a customer service agent...
They've done everything they can and i need to wait, since it hasn't been 24 hours yet.. ok, now *** is that?! Im just laughing at how absurd that call was. The customer service rep didn't even understand that i was still at the activate screen, she was asking if i had a dial tone? and if i could get into mail or ipod at the bottom.. oh my.. I really hope I dont have to call AT&T support again for my life with this phone, cause its not starting out good..
Best to all.. lets hope this gets resolved soon!!

  • I object to the obligatory display of the Steve Jobs memorial on Safari.  An option to view would have been more appropriate.  Anyone else agree?

Highly irritating not to be able to access Safari directly because of the insertion of the memorial video.  Steve Jobs may be a hero to a lot of people at Apple and elsewhere, but some to not hold him in as high esteem.  To impose this presentation on (I assume) all Apple users is unacceptable.

The video appears on the Apple web site at www.apple.com. If you don't want to view that video change your home page to something else. It has nothing to do with Safari and there is nothing obligatory about it. Nobody is imposing this on you or anyone else. You can voice your objections here:

  • Steve Jobs fails to show up in my Outlook contacts

My Outlook 2007 contacts have a single entry "Steve Jobs" which I try to sync with
iTunes 8.2 on a Windows machine to my iPod touch runinng 3.x firmware. There are a few dozend contacts on the iPod. The sync takes a while, in the synchronization
SqlLite database quite a few entries are created but Steve Jobs's contact is not transferred to the iPod and the iPod's contacts don't make it to Outlook.
What would you suggest to get things working? None of the FAQ stuff seems to help

    More symptomps:
Adding a single entry on the ipod touch side will lead to a message that
more than 5% of the data have been changed. So it looks that iTunes believes the number of records in Outlook is zero.
Also when selecting a category of calendar entries to sync all other category entries will be deleted on the ipod. I'm happy that I have a backup pst file and that syncing works in two other enviroments that I'm running: on an outlook 2003 machine and another outlook 2007 computer there is no problem.
Upgrading to Outlook 2007 service Pack II also did not help.
Still I'm looking for a way to set a debug or logging option or someother way to find out why
iTunes does not sync anything to or from Outlook 2007
iTunes does not complain that there is no Outlook 2007 connection
iTunes believes there are zero entries in Outtlook 2007
iTunes does not complain when trying to sync a modified / new entry from the iPod Touch to Outlook
This is all very strange. I'd hope that an apple developer would join this discussion to give more insight on what is going on behind the scenes.
Making iTunes openSource would of course be the optimal choice to avoid problems like the one in this thread.

  • No Latin America Keyboards

It seems that there is no visible support for Latin American Keyboards, the closest thing is the Spain Layout, but of course, the use of this particular layout is annoying!... I really hope that someone can prove me wrong.

"Your time is limited — so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important: Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition — they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

From a lengthy 1995 interview with Steve Jobs:
"In the field that I'm in the difference between the best person and the worst person is about a hundred to one or more. The difference between a good software person and a great software person is fifty to one, twenty-five to fifty to one, huge dynamic range. Therefore, I have found, not just in software, but in everything I've done it really pays to go after the best people in the world. It's painful when you have some people who are not the best people in the world and you have to get rid of them; but I found that my job has sometimes exactly been that to get rid of some people who didn't measure up and I've always tried to do it in a humane way. But nonetheless it has to be done and it is never fun."

  • Re, "Podcasts about Podcasting" area on itunes and thank you, Steve Jobs.

    Hi,
I've just started my About.com Guide to Podcasting and was hoping to eventually be listed in this prestigious list of folks. Knowing that I'm a total "newbie," wondering if any of the iTunes folks/fellow podcasters have any advice about getting listed in this area?
I also searched through the Technology Podcasts (as well as the podcasters on podcasting page) and couldn't find my show listed. Is this just because it's so young? I've heard you need to have four to five shows up before you're considered more than a flash in the pan.
Tangent: In this first episode (at the end) I talk about how watching Steve Jobs present at last year's Apple conference (talking about latest iLife suite) transformed my adult life (obviously for the better!) Didn't know if anyone at Apple (PR folks, etc.) would be interested in hearing it, but I'd love their feedback. I'll have the podcast listed on the about.com site (front page of the podcasting channel) so I hope to have lots of listeners/subscribers.
Thanks for the advice and best regards to all,

    Hi S,
Thanks very much for your help. I'll keep on podding.
Tangent: Do you have any MAC mail experts over there? For my about.com emails, people have said the "reply to" button says, "[email protected]" instead of "com" at the end. about says it's not on their end, and I've done the preferences/account checking thing multiple times. Any thoughts? If you could respond to: [email protected] that would be great because you might be able to see what's happening.
Or here. Not sure what the protocol is, so thanks.

  • Steve Jobs

    Hi All,
I know that this may not be the right place to talk about the passing of Steve Jobs, but i wanted to express my condolences to his family, friends and co-workers.  He was a genius in his own right!
I have to admit, i never really liked Apple products until i purchased the iPhone 4 last year and then followed by the iPad 1 3G and love the gadgets like anything, to be honest, it is as if they are glued to my hand!!
So, what are your thoughts and experiences with Steve Jobs and Apple products?
    God bless Steve x

On a personal note I'd have to agree with you. A true icon of the 21st century.

  • Steve Jobs Speech

I was wondering if it was possible to download Steve Jobs' keynote speech from the "One More Thing..." event a week ago. I don't have a video iPod so footage of it does me little good but I think it would be cool to download the speech, as a podcast maybe.
    Thanks.
    $lafa

Apple used to make his speeches available as a download, but I think for the past couple years they have only been available as a stream. I'm sure there are ways to record a stream, but this is the wrong forum for that discussion. Try looking in the QuickTime discussions.

  • Steve Jobs tributes- thoughts?

With so many tributes popping up, I'm curious which have been particularly inspiring or well-done. It's amazing how many Apple fans are showing their memories and grief for Steve Jobs. He truly was a legend of our time. So thanks for pointing me to inspiring tributes.
One I found interesting: www.reeltributes.com/stevejobs. They're making a film out of users' submissions. Seems like a cool idea.

  • Video cables Steve Jobs used??

What kind of video cables did steve job used when showing the iPhone on big screen, showing the entire iPhone screen ?

We have no clue. The cables were probably standard cables like the AV component cable, or the composite cable. The difference is that steve was using special iPhones which allowed him to use video out capabilities across all screens. This is not something that can be done with a normal iPhone.

Im looking for a plugin that will basically allow me to do the Steve jobs looking presentation in post, you know the dual window of the subject and content on different windows/// http://i.ytimg.com/vi/LYWhFjAF8ug/0.jpg I do recording for my church services and once and a while our pastor will put a quote on the screen and we do not mix live for recording only for streaming so i want to do this in post but not the irritating way using keyframes because i need to do this fast every week. Anyone here of any plug-ins like that? Thanks

You could also build yourself a couple of sequences that work as templates for your effects. Then just replace the contents of the dummy or proxy layers with your new biblical advice.
You don't a plugin, you just need experience. And patience. Video is almost as irritating as the preacher at my parish, a guy I only know by reputation.
