With final cut pro x. Every time I use tildes like  á  for example. FCPX freezes and restarts.... really is a bummer. PLZ FIX. Here in Colombia I can not use FCPX for projects which involve names or text. (ALL PROJECTS)
And on a side note, Color Curves? 3 Wheel Color Wheels (color board is great, but i didnt read a 400 page book on 3 wheel color correction for nothing) ? XML support? Can´t wait for multicam. God Bless!
FCPX IS GREAT. It really is. Just a few features are required.....

  • What camcorders are compatible with final cut pro 7

There are so many cameras that use hard disks and flash memory and I don't want to buy one that is useless with final cut pro 7. What are some guidelines I can follow?

Yesterday I was driving home from work in the carpool lane, and a motorcycle was coming up behind me. So I did my usual pulling to the left to give the fellow ample room.  But the car in front of me veered to the right as the motorcycle approached -- obviously to try and block him.  I was quite peeved at the idiot driver, even though it had nothing to do with me.
In the same way, I am offended by the tone av3x is using.
I don't like how he/she is talking to you guys, with comments such as, "David, why not just answer the question?"
Hey av3x: The people on this board don't owe you any answers.  They are not getting paid to read about your troubles.  They have invested time with you already, and you should be respectful.
BTW, it sounds like the JVC HM100 might suit your needs.

  • Are microsoft movie maker files compatible with final cut pro files?

I would like to know if microsoft movie maker files are compatible with Final Cut Pro?
    Thanks,
    elemir

depends on how you're outputting. .wmv I don't think so.That's pretty much a dead end format.  mp4 might be, but i'm not sure if movie maker outputs them. .avi might be, depends on the codec used.
Avoid .wmv, apple products don't play well with that format (never have) and aim for some other output type. Then on your mac, if you don't already have it, if you don't already have it, get the free converter mpegstreamclip and see if it can convert your movie maker output into something final cut will input. DV files are good, as are .mov files.

  • Use other codecs like DivX or mainconcept with Final Cut Pro

    Hello,
I'm trying to use DivX and/or the h.264 codecs from mainconcept with Final Cut Pro X (10.0.2). Both tries failed...
Do I have to do something special to activate these codecs with Final Cut and Compressor?
    Thanks in advance
    Sascha

Ok, but neither DivX or the codecs from mainconcept appear in Compressor. Reinstalled everything but had no luck...
Can someone acknowledge that the DivX and Mainconcept codec ( http://www.mainconcept.com/products/apps-plug-ins/plug-ins-for-mac/movieexport.h tml ) are compatible with Final Cut Pro X?

  • Can you burn multible movies on one bluray dvd disc with final cut pro

how to burn two completed quick time movies to blu ray dvd with final cut pro? Ive tried but wont play

    Mark,
Welcome to the wild and wacky world of DVD's and Mpeg2!
Here are a few things that might help.
it seems to want everything as a QT. This presents size limitations.
Not really, iDVD simply takes the QT files that you feed it and uses its own compressor to encode them to mpeg2 files. As long as your source material is not over 2 hours iDVD can handle it.
I'm planning to export from fcp using Compressor in the hope of fitting everything onto one disc
You can do this, but you might find it simpler to simply export a QT reference movie from FCP and drag that into DVDSP. DVDSP will then use compressor to create the mpeg2 files that you need. I say this because some find compressor a little intimidating at first. (I know that I still do.)
Now, go find the manuals that came with your software and start reading, DVDSP is a powerful program and the manuals are the best place to start.
    Good luck!

  • How to work with .XML files with FINAL CUT PRO HD

Ok so I am a newby, kind of. We filmed a feature using the SONY XDCAM 350. uses the optical 23.3GB disc. I used the camera to copy all the HD files ( .XML ) to an 1TB external drive. Now the drive is readable, everything looks fine, when I select a .XML file. Final Cut Pro HD opens, but then asks to choose a TRANSLATION file. Where do I go from here. I do not understand that command of action it is asking. Newby here, so pity me for awhile.
    Thanks

my instinct is "No" but thats no (because the app is expecting th efiles to be located on an mounted XDCAM disc that is formated as such) ... but in your situation I'd be inclined to download the XDCAM Transfer app and try for myself
what you may need to do though is get hold of the discs and a deck and import using the method above
failing that you have the option of using Flip4Mac's MXF quicktime components ... not cheap.
this will allow you to select the local XDCAM source media that you've alreday transfered in the native MXF format, and rewrap as Quicktime for editing in FCP
(a trial version is available for download)
... and if thats out of budget, or for whatever reason not an option, you can sit it out and see if the next FCP revision helps you out any with its direct Log and Transfer support for XDCAM. may have the same restrictions though (ie need a properly attached formatted device)
... and other than that, you're looking at switching to an NLE with native MXF support (Avid, Edius, Vegas etc)

  • How to replace audio on a music video with final cut pro x

How do I replace low quality audio on a music video to a higher better quality audio with final cut pro x?
I have the new audio on cd which I can rip and replace the original audio.
Some audio and music videos are not of same length, In cases like this how do I sync video to the newly replaced audio?
Is there any tutorial, link or where to look for this in the manual?
Any help will be very much appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

Providing you don't need the video synced or cut to a beat, all you need to do is place your music in the primary storyline
    Connect your video above.
While your video is connected, hit CMD+R on your keyboard and stretch the video to the length of the music
If you were to cut the video to a beat, simply add markers on your music track, then connect and trim clips to your markers.

  • Your experince with final cut pro vs adobe premiere?

I am just wondering about your experience with final cut pro and adobe premiere and which you like better and why. Thank you.

I've posted this in other threads here: I've tried the Final Cut Pro X 30 day trial on my old Mac Pro 5,1 (heavily modified) and my new Mac Pro 6,1 (8-core, D700s).  I have a specific benchmark that I run on an NLE when I'm testing it: how long does it take to export one of my movies to a 720p h.264 MP4?
If we assume the length of the movie is represented by 't' (for time) -
The old Mac Pro and Final Cut Pro X 10.0: 2t
The new Mac Pro and new Final Cut Pro X 10.1: 1/2t + epsilon
The old Mac Pro and Premiere Pro CC: 1/2t + epsilon
The new Mac Pro and Premiere Pro CC: 1/2t - epsilon
The newer version of Final Cut Pro X is substantially faster at exporting my movie than the older version.  But Premiere is still faster than it is.  Also, Apple still can't get the whole "edit the source footage raw" bit right; my source footage is all spanned-clip AVCHD, with files that are over 4G a piece.  FCPX can't just open those raw, it insists on putting a MOV wrapper around the footage.  There's no transcoding happening, but the file I/O for those massive files slows the whole process down significantly.
Because I don't have years of experience editing with NLEs, I'm not married to any particular UI.  FCPX's UI is ... strange, but I didn't find it too difficult to become used to it.  If it were faster and more efficient for what I do, I'd reconsider it.  But for now, it's all Premiere.

  • Importing issues with Final Cut Pro X. Green flash and twitches while play back

Hello, I'm having some importing issues with Final Cut Pro X and I can't find any solution whatsoever. Perhaps my importing settings are wrong?
Anyways, I've done a lot of recordings on eye TV and HD PVR with some videos that are about 3 hours long. I exported them into H.264 files, which turns them into mpeg-4 files with AAC audio. Then I import them into final cut pro X and I notice it takes a long time for them to render the videos and I notice that there are some green screens and twitches while I play through the video.
Here is a screenshot of the green screen that I'm talking about:

Could it be my 2 video graphics card that is causing this kind of issues? Or is there any solution to fix this?
In the past, I've used iMovie 09 and it worked out perfectly. However, the new iMovie 11 is terrible because it automatically optimzie my 3 hour long videos into making the importing process to (144 hours long to import). Is there any way to get iMovie 09 back or am I stuck on dealing with this Final Cut Pro X issues?

  • I have a Benq M22 HD cam. Is it compatible with Final Cut pro 7?

I have a Benq M22 HD cam. Is it compatible with Final Cut pro 7?

Hi Nick, thanks for your help, Im rather new at editing and FCP. I did everything as it said to do in the MPEG Streamclip download tutorial, but when it finished, I tried to open the .mov files and it was just sound but no picture, just black.
Now, another thing, the .mov converted files where saved into mi SD card after the program was done (is that ok, or should they have been saved somewhere else too?)  then i tried to put them into my FCP by using the Log and Transfer and when I selected that it gave me this message: "100MEDIA" contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media.
Help please!! I know that these problems are probably from my lack of knowledge on the program and the whole thing.. but im working on it!!
    Thanks!!

  • Is Mt. Lion compatible with Final Cut Pro 7?

    I am currently running Lion (10.7.5) on a 27" iMac 3.4 Ghz.
Is Mt. Lion compatible with Final Cut Pro 7 and FCS 3? Will these programs still run or will they be not supported by the new OS as has been the case with past apps when a new OS is introduced?
    Thanks,
    Phil

I have a 2gig HD for backing up my system HD . The backup HD is partitioned into 20 - 1 gig partitions. I use the Carbon Copy Cloner app to make a clone copy of the system HD. Never had a problem. If I need to I can boot from one of the clone partition or copy file from.
(Just make sure your FPC media and video files are on a external HD (firewire for example) other than a USB 2 HD. FCP does't work properly with USB 2 drives.)

  • Error messages during editing with Final Cut Pro

    Hello,
I am working with Final Cut Pro for the first time, editing my first indie movie project. The software normally works fine and when I started this project it ran fine for a while. But the software is now operating increasingly slow, to the point where it won't let me advance frame by frame. And I am getting several error icons popping up in the viewer window and the clip window to the right and I don't know what they mean. One of the icons is a little yellow triangle with a black exclamation point in the middle. Another is a little whi circle with a black letter x in the center. Another is a small green circle with a check in it. Does anyone know what any of this means? Could I be out of ram on the hardrive? I noticed that the changes occurred as soon as I did ctrl + z to undo an edit - it went haywire right after that. I would greatly appreciate any tips, thoughts, suggestions. Thank you.

Slow performance can come from a number of different things. Without knowing more detailed information about your setup or workflow, it's difficult to accurately troubleshoot.
-What kind of Mac are you using?
    -What is your source format?
-Where is your source footage located?

I'm looking for title cards with holiday themes, snow, Christams trees, ornaments and the like. Where can I find these? A quick search online I found site that said they weren't compatible with Final Cut Pro X.

    you haven't tried!
you managed to handle FCPX, a highly professional edit-tool.
What I suggested, is just 'basics':
    compose a few elements.
Get inspired by other videos you notice around.
    To animate 'elements', use keyframes.
To apply 'overlays', green-screen/color-key is a basic procedure…
To prep stills, a designated pic-processor is of fundamental need… although, even MacOS built-in Preview.app allows creation of 'knock-outs'/transparency… in case, you're shy to invest a few $$ for Pixelmator.
It looks maybe complicated - it isn't!
Don't try it first time for some serious projcect… but creating your very own Xmas-scenery is a lot of fun… plus, you learn a lot about FCPX and its many hidden gems…
    Final word:
Catch some nice, own pics with your cam! … snowy trees, 4 candles and some cookies, a frozen window, illuminations in the streets, that crazy neighbour with his 50.000Watts of garden decorations .... Just add a charming title - done. Simplicity rules!  …
    Merry Chistmas!
