Latitude e7450 - Repeating Keys/Debouncing Issue is present in this model too

Not sure how to get attention to this, as I do not think Dell is aware of this problem since this model was only released a month ago. The repeating keys/debouncing issue described here , is present in this new model Latitude e7450 in both bios A00 and A01. Please make this bug known, so that Dell is able to fix it in a bios update!

So, I also found and posted in this thread about the issue with the E7450
and basically that is the aggregation of all the posts on this repeating keys/debouncing issue on ALL affected models. Honestly as a developer, I'm pretty shocked at how bad Dell support really is. I've been lucky enough to never have any hardware issues until now...
They chose to have a forum for their customer service, fine; that works with many other companies. But they should have at least split the forums into laptop series,by model number, have a bug tracker and paid more than 1 guy to relay issues to the engineering team.. This is ridiculous and utter chaos reading through these threads and it is enough to make me question buying a high priced Dell ever again. Like many people I went with Dell Latitude after Lenovo created that awful macbook-like clickable touchpad, but it looks like their 2015 models are bringing back hardware left/right click buttons again so that might be my next purchase.

Allow Repeated Key values in WEB

Does anyone know how to turn on Repeating key values in the WEB. This functionality works from the Properties in BEX, but does not appear to be available via the WEB.

It is a property of the web item TABLE 'SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS', by default the property is checked you can uncheck it using the properties window in WAD. See attached documentation.

Repeating key issue

I just moved to the Mac a couple of months ago. I love it and haven't looked back. However, today, I used my Mac twice. First, this morning, I didn't do anything unusual. I cleared out my trash, browsed a bit on the Internet and answered e-mail. Then I modeled some artwork. I shutdown my machine, shutdown my cable modem & router and went to work. When I came back at lunch nothing was wrong and I hardly did anything (Internet still wasn't on).
However when I came home after work, I started the machine up and the hard drive icon kept popping up and it was difficult to use the menu because I had to hold down the mouse button instead of just click. It turns out that the space key is repeating spontaniously. I thought it might be the keyboard but it doesn't stop when I unplug the keyboard.
Has anyone had this before? How do I cure it? Thanks.

Did you arrive at any solution to your repeating key issue? I've recently joined the discussions forum because I'm having a similar problem - without having typed anything, my backslash spontaneously inserts itself into any text box available and starts repeating itself across the page. In the Finder, I also get various folders spontaneously highlighting themselves, if I pull down a finder menu, it flashes which makes it almost impossible to select anything. As well I get sudden outbursts of the error chime.
Have done an Archive and Install, reset the PMU. I've also zapped the PRAM, checked my RAM slots, checked Permissions, etc.
Let me know if you've got any further insights.

Read statement with repeated key field

Hi Experts ,
We are in the process of UCCHECK in an upgrade program and come across an issue with read statement using repeated key fields which is not allowed in a unicode compatable environment.
            READ TABLE it_vbpa WITH KEY
                                      vbeln = l_vbeln
                                      parvw = '0'
                                      parvw = 'ZN'.
I checked this in 4.6c environment and observed that the Read statement uses the last key value for reading and doesnt consider other values even if the last value is not present in the table .
I want to know if I can use only that last value for read statement ? If so, what was the use of the repeated key fields in a read statement?

Hi,
Your main aim in a upgrade would be to successfully replicate the 4.6x functionalities in the ECC 6 version with the unicode checks. So it would be a safe option to only consider the last key condition. I dont have access to a 4.6C environment. May be it was a mistake corrected by SAP in the new version.

Bluetooth keyboard repeating keys

I am experiencing a a problem with a bluetooth keyboard. After a while (> 1-2 minutes), when I am not using it and starting typing, my keyboard repeats first (sometimes second) character about 8 times. I am having this issue only on linux, on windows everything is fine. Do you have any idea how to track this problem? Is this kernel module fault or bluez?

I was unable to install the update. The mac I used told that no keyboard was present even if it was paired with the mac.
Any how. I found another thread, where they explained that apple do not officially state a reset function for the keyboard. But a user might have found it.
basically, unpair the keyboard and then re-pair it. The trick is to hold down the power button throughout the entire pairing proccess (it's a two hand job)
I am testing it now and as of writing there is no problem with repeating keys. Then again I read somewhere that the apple keyboard can have issues with waking up after idling on non apple machines.
Let's see. I'll get back to you on it

Show Repeated key values in Reports and Export Into Excel

Currently I am working on the BW3.5 version. Our client requirement to display the repeated key value in web and export same into excel. I have followed the steps in web template which mentioned below to achieve the requirement.
1) In my web template, add the following line to the Template Properties object tag (the tag at the very top of the web template in HTML mode):<param name="SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS" value=""/>
After the change web template change, Myself execute the report in web, Its fine web. But I export into excel, again the key values are suppressed. So I have followed the steps in query. Then its fine. I mean, I can export into excel with repeated key values.
2) In my query, in Properties and on the Display tab, unchecked "Hide Repeated Key Values".
But do we have any other option without changing query properties to achieve the requirement.. I am fine with the web template change("SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS"). But I do not want to change the query properties.
Please help me to fix the issue. Thanks in advance.

Suggestion:
You can do exactly what you want, but it will take either a button changing the properties of the web item or a javascript function added to the context menu getting the properties of the table item and changing it to "X" or "". These are just two examples, there are other ways to do this. This is the actual code that sets the suppression for the repeated texts. Hope this helps.

Latitude E7450 randomly shuts down

I though I just share my experience with my new Dell Latitude E7450. I have received the laptop 2 days ago. I fell in love with it in no time for sure... Than, after 2 days, when I was browsing, the laptop suddenly was shutting down. It started to happen more and more often when I put it under moderate load. I was updating to the latest BIOS and drivers and the issue still did not go away. I thought it is over heating maybe so I turned off the auto shut down for over heating. Still I did not accomplish anything. Been on the line with costumer services for hours, to figure out what could be the issue as I was unable to run full test since the laptop was shutting down when it reached to the memory test. I thought it will be the memory? No, I could accomplish the memory test 2 times with no issues. Later on, it was shutting down in the middle of the tests or whenever I had an advertisement in the browser.
So far I`m waiting for a tech to replace the motherboard and the heat sink fan... I would not expect this to happen with close to the top of the price computer. I hope that the motherboard change will solve the issue but how was it tested if a moderate load on the CPU cause such an issue?

Are you running the Dell diagnostics in the operating system or outside the operating system? If running from inside the operating system. I’d suggest you to reseat the memory module(s) one at time in each slot and run the diagnostics on the memory to figure out the faulty one. To run the diagnostics please use the link below.

Has anyone found a way to detect that a key is being held
down by to user to cause the key to be repeated? I see the KEY_UP
and KEY_DOWN. But I see no KEY_REPEAT?

Error -Suppress repeated key values

Hi All,
After executing query in bex , I am doing filter on Fiscal year .I want to show repeated key values.
When I go to query properties-display options -Supress Repeated key values is checked.
I unchecked it and pressed Ok button , It says program error in class SAPMSSY1 method.system error in program CL_RSR_REQUEST and form CHANM_SETTINGS_SET.
Please suggest .

Hide Repeated Key Values Setting Not Saved

Hi Experts,
We are working on BI7. Currently we are changing the Query Properties to display Repeated Key Values. However, whenever we execute the reports, all repeated key values are still hidden. When we return to BEx Designer, the setting is reverted back. Please advise on why this is happening. I am pretty sure we have saved then execute the query.

Its some problem with Bex I guess.
Go to RSRT, give your query name and do "Generate report".
Execute it in RSRT and check if its fine.
If its fine in RSRT it should reflect in your analyzer too.

If you set a property of your KF as "Hide and can be shown", you will get a filter option for these KFs after executing the report in the navigational block of web report.
When you click on that filter, you will get the list of KFs, then you can select the desired KFs using check box.

You can use application/x-www-form-urlencoded with UTF-8 provided that the server is expecting UTF-8 encoded bytes. However, I don't think many MIDP implementations support String.getBytes("UTF-8") so you may be stuck with doing the UTF-8 encoding yourself.
If you control the server, you may want to instead use DataOutput.writeUTF() from the client and DataInput.readUTF() from the server. Another alternative is to use XML, where you can employ character references for non-US-ASCII characters.
