Latop lose connection with router and reconnect every 3 min

hi,
i have bought a wrv200 router of yu company but i have a problem i think it is something with the settings of the router.when am on my latop on the electrical net i have no problem my connection to the router is pefect but when i go on my battery of my notebook i have connection to the router for 3 min then he desconnect en reconnect .so that is a problem if am dowloading something :s
can you help me
thnx,

I don't think there is any issue with the router configration ,because the router can not differentiate between Electrical & Battery power to laptop .
So it has to be some Power settings on wireless card ,may be you can go to wireless card properties & try tweaking some settings in Power Management .

  • Sharing airport express internet connection with router and wired network

    Dear,
I want to set up the following network, but can't succeed.
    Components:
2 Powermacs quad G5's (airport and two ethernet ports)
2 Powerbooks G4 (airport and 1 ethernet port)
1 broadband wired router (1 Wan and 4 Lan ports)
    1 airport express
    1 cable internet connection.
1 LaCie Ethernet Disk mini 300 GB
The internet connection is at the other site of the office (little architecture office). It is not possible to get the internetconnection directly to the desk wth the computer. 1 Powermac G5 is set up to share his internet connection. (Share via airport with ethernet 1). The ethernet 1 port is connected to the Wan port of the wired router. The other Powermac G5's ethernet 1 port is connected to Lan 1 of the router. The LaCie Ethernet Disk mini 300 GB is connected to the the Lan 2 of the router.
All the conputers get their IP adresses bij DHCP. The router is set to distribute IP adresses. Without the router and the LaCie everything works fine. There is internet connection on every computer and filesharing in between them is possible.
I like to be able to do the following.
Use airport connection on the two powerbooks, for internet and access to the network. Use the wired connection between the powermacs and the lacie for filesharing. On the second powermac use internetconnection through the router. With this configuration is it possible to copy files fast between the powermacs and the lacie harddisk.
At the moment I'm trying to get internet connection on the second powermac. The ethernet port gives me a proper IP-adress and tells me that I can connect to the internet, but it won't let me go on the internet and when I turn the airport back on, safari buggs. Without the ethernet cable connected I can go on the internet without anny problem, but off cours the fast filesharing isn't possible any more.
A drawing of the desired network can be downloaded at the folowing website
    http://homepage.mac.com/maesen_jeroen/FileSharing14.html
Is there a possible sollution to this problem?
    thank you verry much
    Jeroen

Disable the DHCP server on your wired router. Since your Power Mac G5 Jeroen is sharing Internet, it is already providing DHCP.
Use airport connection on the two powerbooks, for internet and access to the network.
Sorry, but it is not possible for the PowerBooks to access the subnet created by the Power Mac G5 Jeroen.
Use the wired connection between the powermacs and the lacie for filesharing.
    Shouldn't be a problem.
On the second powermac use internetconnection through the router.
On Power Mac G5 Jeroen, you will need to disable the firewall or open the ports through the firewall needed by Power Mac G5 Nico to access the Internet.
Is there a possible sollution to this problem?
What you have is incredibly complicated. A much simpler solution is to
Get a 2nd AirPort Express (AX).
Use WDS to wirelessly connect the 2 AXs.
Connect an Ethernet switch (or hub) to the Ethernet port on the 2nd AX.
Connect all of your Ethernet clients (2 Power Mac G5s and LaCie) to this switch (or hub).
In this configuration your PowerBooks will have wireless access and all of your Ethernet devices will get IP addresses from the AX connected to the Internet.

  • No connection with router and laptop

    Can someone help me?
I have a question about Linksys and it couldn't be solved at a Dutch forum. I hope you will understand my question.
We have a PC with Windows XP and we have Internet on it. No problems.
But now we have a laptop with Windows Vista and it always worked. Since 2 days before yesterday we don't have Internet on it.
Our router is a Linksys WRT 160N. Two days before yesterday I couldn't come at the page http://192.168.1.1 and since that moment is Internet off at the laptop.
    I have tried many things:
    - I had reset the router (a few times)
    - I had connected the router with the laptop and tried to type in that page. It wouldn't open.
    - I had deleted all the networks and added our network.
    - I went to start --> search engine and typed: cmd. I pushed at enter and after that I typed in: ipconfig. The I saw lots of lines which said: medium disconnected.
Can someone tell me what I have to do to getting Internet at our laptop? Or is the router out of order?
I have recognized something: all the lines where you can see if there is a conenction, are all green. Does that mean that the router isn't out of order? I don't understand anything of this.

First of all when you open the Command Prompt window on your Computer you need to type "ping 192.168.1.1" without Quotes. You are typing incorrect command that's the reason you are getting that error message.
You need to Connect you Laptop to the Router using an Ethernet Cable, and under Network Connection check if it shows you its Connected or Network Cable is Unplugged..... If it displays you Network Cable is Unplug, then Open Network Connections Window and Right click on "Local Area Connection" and click on Properties and then click on "Configure" and then click on the "Advance" tab and below you under "Properties" click "Speed and Duplex or Link Speed and Duplex Mode" and change the Value to "10Mbps Half Duplex"and click on OK and OK....
Once back to Network Connection window check if the "Local Area Connection" is connected or not... If yes then you can open the Command Prompt window and type "ipconfig" and hit enter and check the "IP address and Default Gateway", then again in the Command Prompt window type "ping default gateway IP" and hit enter and check if you are getting any replies, if yes, then using the Default Gateway IP you can login to the Router setup page and change the Wireless Settings of your Router...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbors network...
    - Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select TKIP...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key. For example , MySecretKey , This will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and remember the key.
NOTE : Passphrase should be more that 8 characters...
Once you are done with this settings, on your Laptop right click on the Wireless Network Connection and click on "View Available Wireless Network" and locate your Wireless Network and try to connect to it....
NOTE : Make sure the Wireless Switch on your Laptop is Turned ON.

  • MacBook Pro loses connection with Bluetooth Headphones

    Hi,
Every time I turn off my bluetooth headphones and then turn them back on, my mid-2009 MBP loses connection with them and forces me to re-pair them. It comes up with an error where the only option is "Stop using headphones" - does anyone know a solution to this?
    My headphone are Sony DR-BT101.

Same problem here... With Mac OS Lion. Any solution to this?

  • I lose connection with network whenever put MacBook Pro to sleep or reboot. Lost network configuration. Have to use diagnostics to relocate and reconnect. What is the fix?

I lose connection with network (router: Airport Extreme, latest firmware) whenever MacBook Pro put to sleep. Have to use diagnostics to reconnect. Tells me network configurations have changed, then reconnects me to network. What is the fix?

Try the following, in order, until (hopefully) resolved:
    1a. Delete Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced > AirPort tab
Under "Preferred Networks," delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list.
    1b. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
    1c. Add Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced > AirPort tab
Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
Restart or log out then back in.
    2. Move System Configuration Files
(Note: You will have to reestablish your network connections settings.)
    Go to /Library/Preferences
Move the SystemConfiguration folder to the desktop.
Restart your Mac. (Note: OS X will rebuild the files that are now sitting on your desktop. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can move the folder back to it's original location.)

  • Every time I close my Macbook Air and then go to use it again. My wifi is not connected, I have to go to the network diagnostics and basically find my network and reconnect every time. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Every time I close my Macbook Air and then go to use it again. My wifi is not connected, I have to go to the network diagnostics and basically find my network and reconnect every time. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

worksafe's link with the KeyChain fix is good.
This usually happens when KeyChain has two entries for the same WiFi network.
If repair did not work you can follow the manual steps:
    Disconnect WiFi
Open KeyChain from Applications / Utilities and find your WiFi network entry(ies) and delete all of them.
    Connect to your WiFi again.

  • MacbookPro loses connection with Logitech V270 periodically during use

My MacbookPro loses connection with Logitech V270 periodically during use. THis happens about every 5 to 10 minutes. I get the pic on the screen showing that the computer has lost the connection with the mouse and then after a few seconds it reconnects and works again. I've tested it out with my Powerbook and it works fine so I think it must be related to the MacbookPro. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

    Hi, Jeffrey!
Yes, there have been a few such problems discussed here, and in the MacBook Pro Bluetooth, USB... forum; the Other Bluetooth devices forum; and elsewhere in Apple Discussions related to Logitech V270 performance issues with both PPC and Intel-based Macs, &/or to Bluetooth performance in Intel-based Macs specifically. But, given an assumption or two about the number of participants who are not posting about such problems, my guess is that both Bluetooth and the V270 are working for many users. (By which I mean: let's presume the problem is amenable to troubleshooting...)
As an example, here's a link to a thread specifically about connection problems with the Logitech V270 — including various posts, apparently all by PPC users. But don't let "nay-sayers" get you down... By the way, the fact that the V270 works more reliably with your PowerBook is not, imo, definite proof that there's some inherent problem related to the MacBook Pro — various factors such as software, "pairing" and connection, differerent peripherals configuration, etc. may differ between the two Macs and affect the V270's functionality.
I'm not aware of single, straightforward underlying cause for what you're experiencing; some troubleshooting and trial-and-error may be required to resolve it. So, if I may, here are a few thoughts/suggestions; perhaps some may be relevant &/or helpful:
      (1) Although Logitech says here that the V270 doesn't require a driver for Mac OS X functionality, they did recently update the Logitech Control Center software to v.2.0.0 (download page + VersionTracker reviews) for Universal compatibility — so why not at least try it?  (Keep in mind that Logitech recommends uninstalling all of their outdated software before installing anew — and, thus, this would probably also be a good idea if LCC 2.0.0 doesn't work for you after giving it a solid "test drive.")
      (2) "3rd-party" drivers (like SteerMouse — also a Universal Binary — often improve functionality of Bluetooth-enabled mice. Although dropped connections are probably due to another factor, this is shareware and offers a trial period — so, again, no harm in checking it out.
      (3) There are various troubleshooting steps worth trying for lost Bluetooth connections. Some that you may come across aren't applicable to your MacBook Pro — because, for example, its Bluetooth firmware and software should be current after application of the Mac OS X 10.4.6 Combo for Intel Update. Some other things worth considering include those listed below. Hopefully, one will work and you won't need to try them all:
        (a) The best first step to try usually involves simply deleting your mouse's "pairing" and using the Bluetooth Setup Assistant (BSA) to reconfigure it just as you did initially after purchase.
        (b) Sometimes a variation of "power-cyling" (of the internal Bluetooth module and the mouse) helps with a problem like this. With a laptop, this would involve two basic steps. Shut down the MacBook Pro normally (not restart), and leave it off for several minutes before rebooting. Remove the mouse's batteries for at least 1 minute, then replace them (preferably with new) — taking care of their polarity and that they are seated properly. Check that the internal metal contacts/springs, etc. are clean, unbent, and free from corrosion. Some users have reported ~high sensitivity to the in-place voltage of batteries for the Bluetooth connection process to succeed. Leave the V270's "on/off switch" in the "off" position while starting-up the MacBook Pro, then turn it "on" and re-pair if necessary.
Some users have also reported success with Bluetooth-related problems by resetting PRAM and NVRAM. Others have tried resetting the Power Management Unit (PMU), although my personal virew is that (as described in the article just linked) this should always be considered a "last resort."  Article 303234 also lists both of these options.
        (c) Non-compliant USB device(s) and other USB-related issues (such as a device acting as a "traffic hog" through your controller) can cause this kind of problem. Most can be identified using the tried-and-true method of a process of elimination. (See, e.g., KnowledgeBase articles 58033 and 25243.)
        (d) Make a careful inventory of potential sources of 2.4 GHz RF interference in the environment(s) where the problems occur — and taking any appropriate steps to isolate and resolve any issues you may identify.
        (e) If nothing else has helped, perhaps further exploration is warranted.  Do you see anything in Activity Monitor or your system.log or console.log closely correlated to the times of "dropped connections" that may provide a clue about what's happening?
        (f) If the behavior began recently, re-applying the Mac OS X 10.4.6 Combo for Intel updater may be a step worth trying: several Bluetooth improvements were incorporated in this release, and reapplying the Combo updater has reportedly helped others with Bluetooth-related problems.
        (g) Although I don't recall an example of corrupt preferences causing this particular behavior, you may want to try removing ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist  and restarting (or logging-out and -in again), if nothing else has worked. As with any such preferences "refreshing," you'd need to reset things the way you like in System Preferences »» Bluetooth after this return to default preferences.
I hope something here is useful to you in troubleshooting and solving the intermittent "dropped-connections" problem.
Please post back to share your progress — it may help others.

    Dean

  • Time Capsule disk disconnect and reconnect every 5 minutes

This problem began with Airport Firmware 7.6, and has continued to perist with every subsequent firmware version.  Reverting to firmware version 7.5.2 eliminates the problem.  Running with the latest firmware version 7.6.3, on OS X 10.8.2, the Time Capsule disk is disconnected and reconnected every 5 minutes, and this is seen in the console log:

Has anyone found a solution to this, other than reverting to Airport Firmware 7.5.2?

Welcome to the club.. there is a very long thread.. here.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3526741?tstart=0
There seems to be any number of factors.. where the solutions are little silly things..
Start from the end of the thread and work backwards as this has been ongoing for a long time.. and experience has improved.
What you are seeing btw is the change apple made in Lion and 7.6 to higher security version of AFP.. but it is a mess IMHO.. and has not worked at all well.

  • Airport loses connection with MR814 V2

I have an iBook G4. My Airport loses connection with my Netgear MR814 V2 router. The only way to get it back is to unplug / plugin the router. The connection is ok as long as I'm on the iBook. The problem seems to occur after I've shut the iBook down for the day and then the next day the connection is gone.
I also have my Windows based Dell laptop using the router (wirelessly) and never have this problem.
This is really frustrating. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

I do not have the answer for you, but I am suffering the same thing with my macBook Pro. After about 15 minutes, I loses the connection, and the airport icon in the menu bar goes transparent. Nothing works to renew the connection except to unplug and re-plug my router. If you hear of any remedy, please post.

  • Airport Extreme intermittently loses connection with Internet?

I have an Airport Extreme connected to a router that is connected to our cable modem. Internet connection is fine, but the Airport Extreme will intermittently lose connection with the Internet and shows a solid amber light. Turning the Airport Extreme off and then on again will resolve the issue, however, this happens about once per week (at different days/times) and would like to ensure a consistent connection even when I'm not at home. (We are thinking of installing a lighting control system that depends upon a consistent wireless connection to work properly, even when we aren't home to restart the Airport Extreme). Please advise on what the trouble might be and how we can get a permanent resolution to the issue.

Is your Extreme an 802.11g (domed-shape) or 802.11n (squarish) model? Do you have the Extreme connected to the other router by Ethernet? Finally, is the Extreme configured as a bridge, i.e., Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)?

You've managed to permanently damage the phone. As gdgmacguy suggests, buy a new one. Preferably from a legitimate source.
You may also want to keep in mind that it is illegal to use the Gevey SIM in pretty much every country on the planet. It may still be legal on the continent of antarctica, but that's only because penguins don't use cell phones as a rule.

My Mac Mini loses connection with my Onkyo receiver NR-609 after turning off the receiver then back on.  The only way to reistablish the connection is to unplug then replug the HDMI cable to the Mac Mini.  There's no effect if I unplug then replug the HDMI to the receiver.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.  I've searched a lot but haven't found much of anything so if this is covered elsewhere I would greatly appreciate a link.

Hi and thanks.  I don't know about the audio prefs.  When it happens I am not able to see or hear anything from the computer until I un/re-plug the HDMI to the Mini.  I'm not sure it's changing to something else because there's nothing else connected for it to change to.  I could see that perhaps the audio will change to the Mac Mini's internal speaker.
I found out last night that if, after I lose the signal,  I use my ipad to play a video on the Mac Mini using the Remote app and home sharing the signal gets righted and I can see/hear the computer again.  It's quite an inconvenient fix though and I wish and hope someone here can help me.
