Launch an URL within same browser window

Hi ABAP WebDynproExperts,
Here is a short scenario description what I want to achieve.
I have a ABAP WebDynpro Component which has "Input-Parameters" (Parameters of the Inbound-Plug - Default). Within the handledefault Method I want to call one of my own Function module which generates another URL.
Now I want to launch this URL directly in the same browser window directly without putting the URL on an button. So the ABAP WebDynpro Component/Window/View has no UI elements itself - it should just be used to parse the "importing paramaters" via the url parameters to the backend and executing the URL without user interaction.
Unfortunately I was not able to find a WD specific method how to call a URL in the same browser window? Do you have any ideas?

I try to reduce my point:
Simplified I have the following coding in the implementation of Method "handledefault":
METHOD handledefault .
DATA: l_url type string.
l_url = 'http://www.sap.com'.
ENDMETHOD.
I am looking for an ABAP WD command with which I can start this URL in the same browser window?

Help with linking to a web page within same browser window

I just upgraded my Flash MX to CS5.5 and am completely stumped at what would appear to be the most basic of functions.
I have a small Flash movie that is embedded on a site. At the end of the movie, there is a call to action to click to another page on that site. However, it appears the only action in the Code Snippets panel is for an action that opens a new browser window. I miss the basic actions panel! Am I missing something here? How do I accomplish what I need to? I tried changing the code to "_self" instead of "_blank" but that doesn't work
Here's the code:

Call new URL in same Browser

Hi @ all,
I try to call another WD4A-Application with:
lr_window = lr_window_manager->create_external_window( url = lv_url ).
The system create a new browser window, but I want to start it in the same browser window (or close the parent window).
Have somebody an idea to solve this?

I don't have any details I can share. If development makes such a statement, they must have encountered some incompatibilites that cause they not to support this technology within the Portal.

For every interface view, you can flag exactly one inbound plug as a resume plug. When navigating in the portal, the existence of a resume plug results in the following behavior: If the Portal Navigation recognizes such a plug in the running application, the latter is not exited when navigating away but is instead transferred to a suspend mode. The session ID and contents of the context are retained and a new application is started. If a user then goes back to the original application via the navigation menu of the portal, it can be processed in exactly the same state in which it was left. Note the following:
If an application features a resume plug, the corresponding session is retained when navigating away in the portal. However, in many cases it may be sensible or even absolutely necessary to close the application completely. In such cases, you must not implement a resume plug for the interface view.
While your applications are running within a portal, the portal navigation takes care of the suspend step without you having to implement it at design time. The mere existence of a resume plug ensures that an application is only interrupted and not exited in the case of a portal navigation. However, this does not take place if the application is not running in the portal and can thus not make use of the portal navigation mechanism.
If an outbound plug is flagged as a suspend flag in a Web Dynpro ABAP application, this can lead to errors when the application is executed in the portal. If you are not completely sure that your application is executed solely outside a portal, you should avoid the use of suspend plugs.

Is it possible for multiple/different hyperlinks to open up in the SAME browser window?

I am able to put hyperlinks to various web pages in a PDF document. When I click on the first one, it opens up in a new browser window. The problem is that I want each subsequent link to reuse that same browser window. This seems to work when I open up the PDF document from my desktop, but if the document is first loaded into a web page, each link opens up a *new* browser window.

Thanks for the quick response.
I used Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 to create the document. I added a link and then in the "Actions" property for the link, I specified
"Run a javascript": app.launchURL("http://www.cnnfn.com", true) .
I had to use the app.launchURL method because the "Open a Web Link" action causes a warning message to appear when the PDF is contained in web page. You have to first click "Open in a new window" before the url is opened up in a new browser window. The behavior that we want is that each time you click on a hyperlink on the PDF, you are automatically taken to a specific browser window (without warning and reusing the window that has already been opened).

I used to be able to move tabs right or left by drag and drop in the same browser window. Now, after updating to 35-Mac, i can't do that. How can I do that now?

Thank you for your response -- It seems the "classic theme restorer" add-on is the problem. With that enabled I cannot move tabs. With it disabled I can. I've used that add-on for years without issue on Mac and PC. The PC is still fine, just the Mac is problematic since the FF update about a week ago.
So I guess that's the answer unless anyone knows of some other trick or setting to change so FF is able to have tabs below the address bar AND be able to move tabs left to right within the same browser window!

I made a flash element for my dreamweaver website. I have an
invisible button on the top so when you click it, it opens a new
page. i'm trying to make it so when you open it, it opens in the
same browser window. I tried making the target self and it didnt
work. Any ideas??

"Show Cover Page during Two-Up" from within a browser window?

I frequently use the "Show Cover Page during Two-Up" option (from View menu->Page Display in Acrobat Pro 8.1).
Is there a way to do this from Acrobat Reader within a browser window? I often find myself having to save a PDF to my desktop only to open it in the standalone version of Acrobat because I don't have any access to the View menu while in Adobe Reader within a browser.

Actually... I take it back. I TRIED to update to 16.0.2, but I keep getting the error message that Firefox must be closed first. I'm using Chrome to send these messages, and have also closed iTunes, in case that was contributing to the problem. No use... I can't install the upgrade.

Do you meant that you want to "open the hyperlinks of your flash file in the same browser window"
You flash file will be put on the internet and I think you have to configure your brower to achieve this goal.
We all know that IE can be configured to open the hyperlinks in the same window.
Thus if you want your flash file achieve this feature you need to write a code to control your brower.
This code can be a simple JS code. You can just google this to find out the answer.

How to have web page open in same browser window after redirect in Flash video placed in Dreamweaver?

Would be grateful if anyone can help me.

Currently, a flash video plays on the index page. The following action is placed in the last frame of the video in Flash:
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://www.paris-pet.com/home.html"));
This is working as intended with one exception: Instead of directing to the home page from the index page when the video is completed, it opens up the home page in a second browser window, leaving the empty browser window of the flash movie. This is not the seamless design I was hoping for, and I've also been told on some computers, blocking pop up windows is preventing them from smoothly transitioning to the rest of the web site.
I would like the redirect to open the home page in the same browser window as the movie in the index page played.
Please help. Print designer in over her head.

Brilliant, Jon. Thank you so much. For those of you who stumble on this, I did have a tiny bit of trouble when I edited the actionscript; the video didn't play as expected. After trial and error, this is the code that worked both in playing the video and opening up in the same browser window:

The difference seems to be this: ") before the comma prior to "_self");

I am trying to get a URL rotator to use in house on a multi-monitor display. I would like when accessing this page from a browser window the content opens in the same window. What I would like is to set the page as the home page in a browser and have the rotator open in the same window here is the code I have please help.

How to open iview in same browser window

Hi.
I am using EP 6.0
I have created sever iviews of type IAC. All was working fine.
Now suddenly the iviews have started opening in a new browser window. I have check the iview poperty "Launch in new window " . Its set to "Display in Portal Content Area".
All I want is, when I click on any iview, a new internet explorer window should not pop up, but the iview shud open in the same window.
Can anyone advise me how to achieve this ?

Can you try and check what happens by changing the work protect mode as follows
Systemadministration -> Systemconfiguration -> Service Configuration -> Applications -> com.sap.portal.epcf.loader -> Services -> epcfloader. Set the "workprotect.mode.default". After you have saved the entry. ricght click on com.sap.portal.epcf.loader in the tree menu and choose "administrate". Click on "restart".

IE Browser not able to display a PDF file within the Browser window ...

Hello acrobat experts!
I'm now writing a plugin for the acrobat. According to my customer requirements, the pdf file is expected to be displayed within the MS IE
browser widows. It worked within adobe Reader and Acrobat 7.0.x.
Now I wanted to test my plugin against version adobe Reader and Acrobat
8.0, 8.1.0, 8.1.1. Unfortunately, I got a strange behavior: pdf files are
being diplayed in seperate windows, i.e. the IE browser window is empty
and white blanked!
- (Un)check "Display PDF in browser" option and close the window
didn't help!
- I tried also to upgrade gradually and after each upgrade checked if the
problem persists --> I had the same behavoir after each update:
7.0.5 -> 8.0; 8.0 --> 8.1.0; 8.1.0 --> 8.1.1
- In some google - forums I found out that the following DLL's may be
missing:
Acropdf.dll, Acroiehelper.dll,Gbdetect.dll and Pdfshell.dll
i got these dll's, put them into the activeX directory, but still I
have the same problem
You guys, do you have useful links / tips for me? Is this a known bug
in the acrobat / Reader 8.0, 8.1.0, 8.1.1?
By the it works fine within firefox!
Further info about user SW versions:
IE browser version 6.0 SP2, Windows XP SP2

no, because my customer is using the IE 6. According to the system
requirements all these Acrobat/Reader versions should also run
properly under IE 6 http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3796
I have a look in IE >> manage- add-ons and got the following Add-ons
for adobe
- Adobe PDF
- Adobe PDF Conversion Tool helper
both are enabled!
Do I need more?
can u pls check, if u have the following ddl's in the adobe home dir:
Acropdf.dll, Acroiehelper.dll,Gbdetect.dll and Pdfshell.dll
