ReportClientDocument So this class isn't found, probably because it's not in the server's classpath.
If you really can't recognize a basic compilation error like this, you might re-consider your place in the JEE world.

    Hi Alok
Are you logged in as Administrator?
If not try logging in as Administrator,is still the issue persists then you need to manually uninstall Crystal Reports and reinstall it again.
This issue happens because the installation of Crystal Reports has not been successful, despite a message stating that it has been  successfully installed.
    Manual Uninstalling Process:
    Symptom
Crystal Reports XI is installed on your computer. You need to manually uninstall Crystal Reports XI for one of the following reasons:
u2022 To verify that all Crystal Reports XI components have been completely removed prior to installing a later version of Crystal Reports.
u2022 To remove the remaining Crystal Reports XI components that have not been removed using the 'Add/Remove Programs' command (Start > Settings > Control Panel).
u2022 To remove the remaining Crystal Reports XI components that have not been removed using the Setup.exe file from Crystal Reports XI installation CD.
How do you manually uninstall Crystal Reports XI?
    Resolution
Before getting started, uninstall Crystal Reports XI by launching the Setup.exe file from the installation CD or by using the 'Add/Remove Programs' command. If either of these methods fails to remove all Crystal Reports directories, files and registry keys, then continue with the resolution of this article.

    WARNING:
This resolution can be applied if Crystal Reports XI is the only software installed on the computer that uses the Business Objects directories, files and registry keys.
For example, Crystal Analysis, Crystal Enterprise and BusinessObjects Enterprise XI are applications that may share the same directories, files and registry keys.
Removing these directories, files and registry keys may cause other software to function incorrectly.

    1. To manually uninstall Crystal Reports XI, delete the following directories:
    u2022 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0
    u2022 C:\Program Files\Business Objects

    NOTE:
Do not remove the directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0 if you have BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or Crystal Reports Server XI installed. These files are shared by both applications and removal of these files will cause Business ObjectsEnterprise XI and Crystal Reports Server XI to function incorrectly.

  • Can we launch Crystal Report via Browser?

    Hi, Experts
I have created a Balance Sheet report (T-Style) with the help of BOBJ-Crystal Reorts.
But I wanna to consume this report via Browser, neither email with PDF/Excel attached, nor Crystal Report 2008 designer.
Is there any solution/tool to make this happen?
    How can I implement it?
    Thanks a lot.
    Peter Zhou

You are able to view Crystal Reports via a browser in a few ways.
    1. Report is published to Enterprise and you use Infoview to browse to the report and view.
    2. Report is published to Enterprise and you use a custom application written in .NET/JAVA to view the report, loading it from your enterprise server.
    3. Report is stored on disk and you use a custom application written in .NET/JAVA to view the report.
For viewing in a custom application please visit [diamond.businessobjects.com|http://diamond.businessobjects.com/]
The documentation for the SDK's can be found in the Developer Library, and sample code can be found under the Sample Code.

  • Crystal Report Caching(?) Problem

    Post Author: cfernald
    CA Forum: General
We have a web app that launches Crystal Reports (version 10) in the crystal reports viewer that plugs into IE (version 6.0). The whole thing is managed by Crystal Enterprise Server.
The problem: You launch a report and let's say it shows you 10 lines of data on the report. You perform some activity in the application that updates the database such that an 11 lines should appear on the report. However, when you run the report again (after closing the IE session from the first viewing) you only see 10 lines (while expecting 11).
There's a little "dance" I do to "clear cache":  I hit the "Refresh Report" icon (the "lightening bolt" icon), close the browser and then relaunch the report.  This seems to tell the report to re-read the database rather than use the data that was previously retrieved.
Clearly the results are being cached somewhere - can someone point to where I might look to control that behavior?

Ok, I did some additional research and learned all about how CR has a CacheServer that can be controlled through the Crystal Management Console. Specifically there is a setting for the CacheServer named: "Oldest on-demand data given to a client" which is expressed as a number of minutes. From the manual:
This value controls how long report pages and prompt pages can stay in the cache. Once an object has been in the cache for the given number of minutes, it is aged out of the cache and there will be no further cache hits for this object. The default setting is 0 u2013 which means that no prompt pages or report pages will be server from cache. For optimal prompting performance, we recommend setting this value to the largest possible value without impacting data currency. For example, if the data that your reports access changes only once a day, then you can probably set this value to be 8 hours (or 480 minutes). If the data that your reports access changes every 5 seconds, and your report consumers need to see current data, then this value should be set to 0.
Based on the last sentence above, I want this value set to zero to meet our reporting needs.  However, after setting it to zero and restarting everything, I still see cache entries in the CacheServer directory and Crystal is still caching report data.
    What am I missing?

  • Crystal Report speed problem on dot matrix printers

We are attempting to print marketing documents (sales orders) to a dot matrix printer using Crystal Reports. All the add-ons for B1 do this using the crystal report viewer which causes crystal to send true type fonts to the printer, making it very slow. We can run the crystal reports in draft print mode outside of B1, and the performance is good. Is there a way to get the same performance in B1 using Crystal?
All solutions we have found will require us to launch Crystal reports and have the end user enter parameters, using a link off the application menu works this way. But we are looking for a better solution to print to the dot matrix printer faster.
    Thanks

    Hi Peter,
When you are printing it from b1 make all the font to the regular type ( not like bold are italic) like that then it will be some how faster...

  • Crystal report viewer from portlet

    Hi,
I have a problem with opening Crystal report viewer from portlet. I am using Spring portletMVC but this doesnt matter in this case. After clicking some button a controller process form in method where is access to ActionRequest, ActionResponse. But how can I "redirect" with some parameters to plain JSP page where I can write something like this:
    CrystalReportViewer viewer = new CrystalReportViewer();
         viewer.setReportSource(rcd.getReportSource());
         viewer.processHttpRequest(request, response, getServletConfig().getServletContext(), out);
         viewer.dispose();
Oh, perharps is understandable, sorry for my English and thanks for helping. Any code of link would be wonderful.

I haven't worked with Crystal Reports in quite awhile, but in the past I've written code to launch Crystal Reports using OLE. If I recall correctly, there existed an ActiveX control that could be embedded into VB forms, and the like. I'm unsure, however, whether they continue to support this mechanism. Given that your requirements do not allow CLIENT_HOST or DDE, however, I am guessing that OLE automation would also be unacceptable.
    Have you looked at WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT?

Report designed in CR XI R2 (v11.5.8.826).  Being saved to a
BO Enterprise XI R2 (v11.5.3.4175) server.
Tried saving the report to the BO repository, takes a long time and then pops up with the error:
Failed to read data from report file <report location> Reason: Unable to launch <Crystal Report location where reportadd.exe is> program to add report to the system.
I login to the server and try to upload the report using the "Publishing Wizard".  I get the same error, this time referencing the location of reportadd.exe in Business Objects.
A look at the BO log shows me:
    Timestamp     ProcessID     ThreadID     Message
[Thu Oct 16 17:47:58 2008]     5956     6036     assert failure: (.\fromreport.cpp:257). (false : PipeListener: timed out reading from pipe: No error).
    [Thu Oct 16 17:47:58 2008]     5956     6036     assert failure: (.\fromreport.cpp:275). (false : user: Administrator, cmd: "<path>ReportAdd" -report

    [Thu Oct 16 17:47:58 2008]     5956     6036     assert failure: (.\fromreport.cpp:280). (false : Killing ReportAdd process).
    [Thu Oct 16 17:47:58 2008]     5956     6036     assert failure: (.\fromreport.cpp:283). (false : ReportAdd process died).
[Thu Oct 16 17:47:58 2008]     5956     6036     assert failure: (.\fromreport.cpp:557). (false : Unable to launch "<path>ReportAdd program to add report to the system.).
That being said, sometimes it does work.  The behavior of both the publishing wizard and CR when saving or trying to upload the report is an hour glass for about 4-5 minutes.  If you click away from the application and then click on it again, it states "Not responding" but it is still working.  In some cases when I try again to save the report, it goes through in 1-2 minutes.  Sometimes if I click away and come back, click on the active app again so it states "Not responding" it will complete saving.
No resolution as of yet, simply keep on trying.  This only happens on this particular report which uses a good amount of tables and custom commands all querying a Sybase database.  I have other reports with the same functionality that do not run into this problem.

  • IE11 and Crystal Reports Viewer issue

We have a Delphi application which launches Crystal Reports through a Java Web Module.  The Delphi application gives users the option to view a single report or multiple reports (Crystal Reports).  In previous versions of IE, everything worked fine.   However, when we launch multiple reports in IE11, the first report loads properly but the other reports do not open the report in the new window.  It opens our home page.  So, first pop-up window shows the report1 without issues.  Other pop-up windows for report2 – reportN, shows our home page instead of the requested report.   Is there a fix for this issue?

  • Crystal Reports 2011 Installation Issue, key code not valid

    Folks,
We have just purchased two licenses for the Crystal 2011 upgrade from DigitalRiver.  The installation completes successfully, using one of the two "digital rights" keys that were provided in the confirmation email from DigitalRiver.
Upon launching Crystal Reports 2011 for the first time, though, we are being prompted with a License Manager window asking to add a key code for Crystal Reports.  We enter the "digital rights" key provided by DigitalRiver, the same one used during the installation [copy and pasted from the email for accuracy] and receive the error message "The key code you just typed is not valid, please try again."
Canceling this window or clicking Ok simply closes the Crystal Reports application.
Any assistance in how to get the application running would be helpful.
    Tested Environments:
    Windows 7 Professional SP1, 32bit
Visual Studio 2010 w/ CR for Visual Studio 2010 installed
    Windows Server 2008 R2, 64bit
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Follow-up:
We went through several iterations of installation and finally decided to mix things up to see if we could get a different response from the software.  The items that we performed differently were as follows:
    1.  Ran the setup.exe as administrator [even though we have full admin access as the logged in user]
    2.  Hand typed the digital rights key rather than cut/paste from the email
    3.  Performed a custom installation rather than the default and de-selected all of the SAP and other software integration options.
The software ran fine without prompting with the License Manager.
My guess is that it was the removal of the integration pieces that allowed the application to run.  We'll perform our next install with just that change and see if it is the culprit.

Well I found a temporary fix for this issue. I put the http://www.businessobjects.com/ as a trusted site in IE!!
First, get the URL of the site to trust. For example, " http://www.businessobjects.com/
.Next, Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options". Click on the "Security" tab.
Click on the green circle with a white check marked "Trusted Sites". In the space provided, enter the URL of the site (you'll probably want to uncheck the box requiring SSL, which is a high-security link, for all sites). Click the "Add" button. Continue entering sites until you have them all entered, then click OK as needed. If you find another trusted site later, simply go back to this menu item and enter the data.

    aojiku01,
the problem is with the cookies. That is the cause of the script-error on the Start Page while opening.
In IE - Internet Options - Privacy - Websites - add domain "businessobjects.com"
    and the problem has gone.
There is No need to uncheck "Check for updates on startup"
And there is No need to disable "Show online resources"
