Launch flash builder from flash cs5 don't work

hi
I have a trial version of flash builder (eclipse plug-in) and registered flash cs5 pro
I'm trying to open a new AS3 class like in this tutorial: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-flash-professional-cs5/using-flash-pro-and-flash-builder-t ogether/
and it doesn't work.
at first it did asked if I want to edit the file in flash builder or not, and it didnt work.
now it won't even ask.
what can I do?
and also I cant open a flash proffessional project in flash builder, it says "This feature requires Adobe Flash CS5 or higher to be installed."
but it is installed!
frustrated...

I gave this a shot, using CS5, and when I started a new AS3 file I got the appropriate prompt asking me which application should edit my file...

When I chose Flash Builder, (which I had already running), it opened the new AS3 file there with no problems. Interestingly, when I closed FB, and with Flash Pro created a new AS3 class, I wasn't prompted (and the AS file opened in Flash Pro) - so it does require that FB be running, or else Flash Pro will be the default editor.
For the issue of Flash no longer prompting you "Who" will open a new file, you can change that here:
Edit > Preferences > ActionScript > Several items down is the Class editor. Change that to Flash Builder
If you still have problems...Are you able to successfully launch Flash Builder 4 by itself? Or has the trial expired?

I can't install Flash Builder from the Web Premium suite, what should I do?

I just downloaded the Adobe Creative suite 5.5 Web Premium and am about to install the program but notice a note next to the Adobe Flash Builder program... it explains that my system doesn't have the requirements needed for this program. I checked and it explains further details stating that I need to have a • Mac OS X v10.5.6–10.6 and I doubled check which version I have and it's OS X 10.5.8. Doesn't this actually mean that it does meet the requirements?
Please advise as to what can be done to be able to download this specific program.

so for the memory:      it's 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 and when I click to
install the programs it says (Macintosh HD: 10,0 Go (459,5 Go
disponible).
As for the processor: it's 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

We do still need more information such as how much memory you have,
resolution of your monitor, how much disk space you have free, which
processor are you using. I good guide is to look at the system
requirements and try to post for each of the items within the
requirements. The system requirements for Web Premium can be found
at http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/web/tech-
specs.edu.html.

Not able to install flash builder from creative cloud app

Not able to install flash builder from creative cloud app, please help me. When i am trying to install app, its redirecting to the Flash Builder landing page and where i can see download button. However, when i am trying to install, its not getting "INSTALL" option in CC App.
Please help me.

Flash Builder or Flash Professional?

Hey,
Just wondering on your opinion of which should is better to use? Flash Builder or Flash Professional?
Personally I want to drop flash profesiional and just keep developing in flash builder but before I do I want to know if I will lose any advantages or gain, and know if this is a good decision?
I can code everything in flash builder good and love to work in the flash builder environment on desktop games AND mobile games sometimes.
So what do you think I should do? Whats your opinion.

I was also looking for a bit on vector graphics to import into flash for masks etc, and found another of your posts somewhwere that gave some insight... Having just installed Fireworks, I then found I can do the same from PaintShop - what I found was I can "break-apart" an image (in Flash) if I need to snip a little or can use png's directly as masks which I didn't realise before.

How do I prevent Flash Builder from launching Flash CS5?

Every time I change workspaces, Flash Builder launches Flash CS5 which is very annoying. Anybody know how to turn this off?

Using [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433 Flashblock] solves that.

Upgrading Flash Builder from 4.6 to 4.7

Hello guys,
I'm currently using Flash Builder to develop iOS and Android application. Last iOS7 version has caused some issues in my application and I want to see if upgrading Flash Builder and AIR SDK to latest version will be fixing them.
I've seen that upgrade is free if I've bought 4.6, which is the case. So i filled and sent this form: https://adobeformscentral.com/?f=aqd5Yq*ONlcAvnasuWDB8w#
I then receive an email saying "Your request for a complimentary upgrade to Flash Builder 4.7 has been received. You will receive additional information from Adobe Customer Care within 48 hours."
Then I receive another one saying "With this response, we believe your issue is resolved and have therefore closed your case 0211769917"
But I didn't get any news from an update available or something.
Could you tell me where I can get it or maybe contact them back so I can re-open the ticket?

I think I've solved this...
You need to check your 'My Adobe' account. If you look under 'My products' you should now have a new Flash Builder serial number for version 4.7.
It doesn't seem that an email with a new serial number is sent out.

Should I upgrade to Flash Builder from Creative Cloud ?

I'm using Flash Builder Standard 4.6 and Extension Builder 2.
Have just signed for Creative Cloud and need to know if installing the Flash Builder Premium from Creative Cloud will be a smooth process and I can continue working on my extensions without pulling out my hair
I believe the version in CC is 4.7 instead of 4.6, in this case what should I be aware of ?

Flash Builder 4.7 SWC contents garbled, works in FlashDevelop

I have an all-defaults Action Script - Desktop (Runs in Adobe AIR) project with a single MovieClip on the stage from a SWC file created in newest Flash Pro CC. The MovieClip contains buttons, text, etc, for a menu system.
When I build and run it in my regular IDE (Flash Develop), it looks correct:

The problem is more than visual; DisplayObjects within GfxMainMenu have been randomly swapped with others from the same SWC. When I try to hook up my buttons, I find some of them are actually missing. The weird upside-down ghost logo MovieClip has actually replaced the orange SimpleButton. Needless to say this makes profiling difficult. I've been having this problem with Flash Builder for 3 years across many versions of FB, AIR, Windows, etc etc. Every year I try again with a new approach, hopeful that they've fixed this and I might be able to use FB's excellent profiler for this project. But the basic issue is the same: FB hates the contents of this SWC and I can't find a way to cleanse the demons from it.

Looking into this further, all the garbled symbols appear to be SimpleButtons. Their up, over, and down states are either blank, or they contain random symbols from elsewhere in the file. Many of my buttons contain dynamic TextFields with embedded fonts... but I think the problem may occur in a situation as simple as having 1 shape-filled button and 2 exported symbols in the same swc. I've been taking things out of the swc or copying them to a fresh fla all morning trying to track down a specific simple example of the bug.
But it's gotten hard as FB started crashing and nuking my workspace repeatedly. I remember how much I hate this thing now. FlashDevelop has a great editor and debugger, and Scout is a good profiler, but there are things that only FB can do. Specifically, tell me which references are preventing my objects from being garbage collected.

Flash builder + Zend amf | Insertion function not working when called second time

I'm using standart createOrders function which is autogenerated by Flash Builder 4.6. It works brilliantly when used once. Here is code:

When same button is clicked second time and consequently okButton_clickHandler launched, data is not inserted to database. I added result handler with trace("saved"); and what I saw was that "saved" was written on first click, but not second.
Also I used Charles to see whether request is being sent second time. And no it is not.
Just tried to generate auto generate form. Only had to add commit(); because else request is not sent. And here is save problem — request is sent only on first button click.
So all in all problem is in fact that ordersService.createOrders(orders2); works only once. Because if i try
createOrdersResult.token = ordersService.createOrders(orders2);
                ordersService.commit();
                createOrdersResult.token = ordersService.createOrders(orders2);
                ordersService.commit();
OR
            createOrdersResult.token = ordersService.createOrders(orders2);

there is only one row added to database. Any ideas?

Think you can find the problem in your php / whatever -backend. Generated code does'nt much know about autoincrement table ids.
So for the example tabel orders:
orderID int(10) auto_increment
orderName varchar(255)
...generated php for createOrders looks like:
$stmt = mysqli_prepare($this->connection, "INSERT INTO $this->tablename (orderID, orderName) VALUES (?, ?)");
mysqli_stmt_bind_param($stmt, 'is', $item->orderID, $item->orderName);
So if you dont give the right orderID, the second insert will fail.
Delete the autoincrement parts and code will work:

mysqli_stmt_bind_param($stmt, 'is', $item->orderID, $item->orderName);

Flash Builder crashes Flash Professional CS6 on save

Hi,
I'm using Flash Builder 4.7 and Flash Professional CS6 for game development. When I'm saving an action script file in Flash Builder it sometimes crashes Flash CS6. It happens several times a day and it's really annoying. I'm working on iMac with Mac OS X 10.9.1. I've also checked that I've installed all available updates.
Please tell me how to fix that problem,

Here are some things that help me:
Open the version of Flash I want to use to compile the project first
Turn off Build Project Automatically and use Ctrl-B instead so you're just compiling when it makes sense for you rather than at every change.
Shared asset libraries may cause crashes during the "updating assets" phase, so avoid them if you can. If you really need them, open the file in Flash before you try to publish from FB.

Project built with Flash Builder 4.6_Flex SDK, didn't work on Flash Builder 4.7_AIR SDK

I have developed a project on flash builder 4.6 as a new action script project and I chose web & Flex SDK 4.6 (default), and now with Flash Builder 4.7, the project won't run, and the package available is AIR SDK only.. no flex!!

Open your .actionScriptProperties file and set useFlashSDK to false. This will allow you to use your older SDKs. They are managed in the same way as Flash Builder 4.6 when this option is changed.

Not Working - PMD 1.1, Flash Builder 4, Flash Project

I have a Flash Actionscript project on Flash Builder 4 and after installing PMD and setting command line tools in preferences. I right clicked on src selected FlexPMD -> Run FlexPMD, Flex PMD View opens immediatelly, but nothing is there, just an empty window.
Is it even supposed to work with non Flex projects?

Basically if there's a white space on the path of your FlexPMD installation, workspace or project the plugin will fail.

Adobe Flash Builder pureMVC_As3 2.0.4 login works in Flash Builder when developing and testing but does not when deployed.

I have Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 with air 15. I am using as3 PureMVC swc. The application works and logins to my server during development and testing. But the issue comes when I deploy the application in IOS 8. The login does not work. Can anyone help. Thanks in advance.

Just as an add on note. What we can't determine is when the SWF file is run either in a a flash player 9 or with IE
it does not work. (i.e. no email and variable that is sent back is undefined) In flash player 10, it warns about some
security settings.
but in FLASH CS4 authoring environment, using the test movie, ctrl+enter, it runs like a champ, sends the email, gets
the variable back.
The server its being run on is a LAN based IIS server for Intranet use. So the local PC is connecting to it fine in "Test movie" mode.
but if you run that swf any other way, its does not work for love nor money! How do you debug for that! The asp code was even cut down
to a simple HELLO WOLD example and that still did not work. Of course it did work in Test Movie mode!
