Launch Pad issues with Mavricks

I upgraded to Mavricks 10.9 when it was released. I have a Macbook Air 13" Late 2010 model. After upgrading to Mavricks, I noticed that my Launch Pad Icons are all missing. I'll I see is text.
Any clues to a fix?

I figured it out. Go to Applications> Launchpad.app > Contents > and delete info.plist & version.plist XML files and reboot. These files are regenerated the next time you add or modify the Launchpad.

Launch pad issue

The thing is that when I start launch pad on my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.8.3) and start typing the name of the app, it just won't work. I mean I can't see what I'm typing. Any idea why it's happening?

You need to look in your user Library/Applications Support/Dock for the .db. Hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/ Library/Applications Support/Dock. Move the .db to your desktop.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.

You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.
Launchpad is affected by the dock. Try a dock reset.
Applications/Utilities/Terminal enter the command
killall Dock
Open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the .db from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .db to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.

Late 2012 iMac graphics issues with Mavricks

Everr since I updated to Mavricks I've been experiencing graphics issues.
When waking from sleep or screen saver, the area outside the active window is black, including the app bar at the bottom. Moving my mouse around those areas sometimes will display my background from black but not always.
Also, when playing CIV 5 on occasion, the computer will restart itself and take me back to the log-in window

Collaboration Launch Pad issue.

I am trying to enable the Link to Launch CLP in the portal header. I have completed the needed config in the default framework page - tool area iview and set the Enable CLP to true as well as the Enable RTC to true.
Additionally I have also copied the existing command groups clpGroup and userGroup and assigned services to CLP using the context_menu_commandgroup field.
I know I am so close because, when I preview from the tool area iview properties . . I can see the CLP link as well as search in the portal header tool area.
Also for the instant message feature is there a browser requirement vis-a-vis JVM or any other browser setting.

Hi Raj,
You have to apply your changes to the Default Framework Page located under: Portal Content - Content Provided by SAP - ENd User Content - Standard Portal Users. Then after a full refresh, the <u>Collaboration</u> link should appear.

Tracking pad issue with Os

Sometimes the track pad arrow is not responding correctly. The arrow will be responsive, the screen will blink and the tracking pad becomes very erratic.

Launch Pad bug with Multi-Monitors in Mavericks...

I noticed something while trying to use a two monitor setup with Mavericks 10.9. After moving from the primary laptop monitor to the secondary monitor, I noticed that after clicking in the screen to make it the active screen that the LaunchPad gesture would not work. From there I proceeded to drag the pointer down to access the Dock. I noticed after touching the Dock in the secondary monitor, then LaunchPad gesture would work. If I try the LaunchPad gesture before touching the dock, the system brings up LaunchPad in the screen of the previously active monitor. I noticed the same senario when moving from the secondary monitor back to the primary monitor. So, in a nut shell:
1.) When moving from one active monitor screen to another, click in the inactive screen to make it the active screen.
2.) Move pointer to the Dock (wait for Dock to rise).
3.) After the first two steps, THEN the LaunchPad gesture can be used in the now active monitor.
Has anyone else noticed this? Now a big deal but it is an annoyance I cannot believe no one else has seen.

Fiori Launch Pad and Object Based Navigation (OBN)

I was wondering if anyone knows how the Fiori Launch Pad works with Object Based Navigation (OBN)...
The scenario I am imagining is that I have a tile defined on the Fiori Launch Pad that opens a Web Dynpro ABAP Application - within that application there is a user action that triggers an OBN call. This is quite a common scenario particularly with POWLs.
In the Portal or NWBC these OBN calls are managed and resolved at runtime based on the user's role. Will this also work with the Fiori Launch Pad or must the Launch Pad be embedded within the Portal or NWBC for this scenario to work?
I have noticed that if you define a Web Dynpro ABAP application in the Fiori Launch Pad it by default wraps that app in the NWBC (HTML version) in a new window - I am guessing that maybe this is how it then handles OBN resolution (e.g. via NWBC).
Any insight would be appreciated.

I hope SAP has a solution to cater for OBN in "older" applications such as Web Dynpro ABAP POWLs. I can imagine that many customers will have a hybrid launch pad consisting of both Fiori/UI5 and Web Dynpro Applications for some time.

I think a few have.
Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

Adobe forms issue with signature pads

Hi everyone,
I am new to and just joined this forum as I never had to until this point. I am having some strange issue with adobe forms and using signature pad.
I have a form built using adobe X. I am using Topaz signature pad to have a digital signature in my form. My application (which was built on Progress 4GL) opens up this form using rich text editor. Most of my clients remote login to use the application. Every now and then my clients complain that whenever they click on the signature field on the form to open up the signature pad window, it kicks them out of the whole application. This happens so randomly that they can't predict when it occurs. I logged each and every lines on my code to see if there's any issue with the codes but they all execute fine. And I can't log after the form is open as adobe takes the control and they handle the communication with signaute pad. So far I have checked if there's any memory leakage that would kick me out and it's fine. And I think there's no driver issue as this happens randomly. A client who gets kicked out 1st time if tries the 2nd or 3 rd time following the same steps and same form, can successfully gets the job done.
Have any of you had faced similar issue. If you have any solutions or ideas that would be a great help to me.

Updates: Just found out that this issue rises only to the clients using Wyse terminals. Has anyone had any issue using Adobe forms and Wyse terminals?

Hi Yuri,
the problem with the ConfigComponent also should be fixed with Hotfix 1 (also worked for me).
See note 792995: Major problems fixed with this Patch 27 Hotfix 1: [...] Config : After upgrading to Portal SP2 Patch 27 the configuration iView did not work.

Issue with Creative Cloud program itself - Won't launch

Hi,
I'm having an issue with CC.
The app is launched and it opens. I enter the email address and password. It thinks for a while and then disappears from the screen.
The icon is there in the systray and as soon as you click on it, the applications appears again but is blank and there is a small window on top of the main with the CC logo on it but that's all.
End task is the option to close it.
I searched the KM and saw a reference on deleting the OOBE folder in the Users area but all this did was to force it to ask again for login details and then did the same thing.
I've had this issue previously and I think I uninstalled the CC app and reinstalled it. This forced ALL the installed adobe programs to be redownloaded and installed again, which I'm hoping to avoid that and having to sort out all the plugins again.

HollyTAust removing and reinstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop application should not cause you to need to reinstall you already installed Creative Cloud Desktop application.
If reinstalling resolved your difficulties previously then please try removing and reinstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop application. If you then face difficulties with your Adobe applications not being listed properly please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.

Mavricks issues with Logic 9.1.8 and multiple dislays

I have graphical glitches every time i move my mouse from one monitor to the other. It seems to be an issue with the new way Mavricks works for adding wireless monitors and I can't turn its smart displays option off to rectify and revert to the way things were in previois versions od the O.S
A good example of this would be when i select my mixer on the right monitor then move to the left to adjust an EQ or filter.
Once i have adjusted the EQ/ filter it takes up to 5 seconds to respond graphically and audibly. somtimes it even locks play and pressing space bar has no effect at all. I never had this issue with Mountain lion and my machine is more than cpable of runningthe software as the CPU is not even over 1/5 cpacity. I also have 8GB ram so thats not the issue either.
Can anyone help am i doing somthing extrelemy stupid or just have bad luck? I'm really trying to avoid the "just get Logic X" option as many of my plugins wont work in 64 bit!

Issues with HBR Web Launcher

I am using EPM 11.1.2.1 and when trying to log into HBR Web launcher, the following error is Displayed:
"Error logging into Business Rules. The repository has not been configured or you are not authorized to use Busines Rules."
However, I am trying to log in with admin user and it is already provisioned at HSS with HBR Rules.

what is the exact error message? Is it
"An error occurred: Login Failed. Please login again.
Error Message:Error logging in to Business Rules. The repository has not been configured or you are not authorized to use Business Rules.

It is an issue with the properties file then you would see something like the following in the easserver.log in <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\EssbaseAdminServices0\logs
