Launch PhotoShop CC Generator Issue

Whenever I launch my PhotoShop CC, I get a dialog box with the error:
There is a problem with Generator. Please quit Photoshop and try again. If the problem persists, remove any third-party plug-ins or try reinstalling Photoshop.
I've reinstalled and I'm up to date. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi
are you using mac or windows
if you are using mac - go the application folder - Photoshop cc 2014 folder> plugins and there will be generator folder- move that folder to the desktop
if windows > c:/program files/adobe/Photoshop cc 2014/plugins  and move the generator folder to the desktop .
restart the Photoshop and check if you are still getting the error message

  • OpenGL issue when launching Photoshop CS5 Extended from Lightroom?

I noticed about 2 weeks ago that the scrubby zoom and rotate commands stopped working.  Obviously OpenGL was not
enabled and was greyed out, not letting me enable it.  I have a 295GTX video card with dual GPU's and I have updated all drivers NVidia 280.26.  When I went through the Adobe troubleshoot doc I reset my preferences/defaults by holding <CTRL><ALT><SHIFT> when launching Photoshop and it allows me to enable it.  I can even open a bunch of images and everything works but only if I open them FROM within Photoshop.  If I pick an image from Lightroom (Latest Version) and launch it to photoshop it will not allow me to run OpenGL features any longer and the only way I can get it to work again is to reset it doing the <CTRL><ALT><SHIFT> move.
Any suggestions or knowlege of issues / bugs?

As a temporary workaround, you can uninstall the driver and try using an earlier release.  Sometimes they break new things with new releases.

  • Error when launching Photoshop - cannot modify scratch disk preferences

    Hi all,
I recently installed photoshop CS5. When launching it I get the following error:
'Could not open a scratch file because the disk is not available'.
I went on this forum and found out several threads relevant to that issue. I did the following to try to fix the problem:
Did a clean uninstall of CS5, made sure no file pertaining to CS5 were remaining
    Reinstalled CS5
As the problem was still occuring I did the following (as hinted in the threads)
I reset the photoshop preferences according to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/370735?tstart=0
I modified the setting of the drive HD (read & write everywhere, share folder checked)
I then tried to change the scratch disk preferences (launch photoshop then click Option+Command+Shift)I can select my disk but the selection does next time I try it is still the same (c.f. screen shot): first = startup, second = none, etc.)
I would really appreciate if someone could help me on this one.
    Thank in advance,
    Francis

I have one drive, but the point is rather that when I select it (=macintosh HD), it is still Startup that appears in the menu as depicted above on the next launch.

  • Photoshop CC Installation issues

I am having problems installing Photoshop CC (Trial Version), it appears to successfully download but then fails installing an update - I get a U46M1P6 error on the update installation.
Even though the installation appears to install successfully, whenever I try and open it I get an error message.  I have run the Adobe Support Advisor software and no issues have been found.

In what way does my system not meet them?

I downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements.  I then launched Photoshop Elements Organizer and imported approx. 28,000 photos (including some videos).  A window opened indicating that many of the photos had tags, and asking if I wanted to add the tags.  I said yes, and the process began.  When it reached 60% a window opened indicating that "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working", with the only option being to "Close program."
I've since tried to open organizer several times, but it goes immediately to "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working".  I was able to open Editor, and tried opening Organizer from Editor, but encountered the same problem.
FYI, I have an open case (#0214505556), but have not received the help I need.

This issue is with respect to Elements 13.

  • Why am i getting error code 213:11 when launching Photoshop CS5?

Hi, I am installing Photoshop CS5 on a computer in  school where I work. If I logon as a system administrator, I can launch Photoshop. However, if I logon as a student (we don't allow students access to the C: drive) I get the above error code & a message that reads 'A problem occurred with the licencing of this product.....'.
I have followed the suggestions on Adobe's website, but without success. Has anyone encountered & resolved this issue?

Impossible to guess the "why" with so little information, but this may be helpful if you want to solve the problem: Error 1402 | Error 1406 | Acrobat, Reader

You will need to uninstall, run the Cleaner tool and reinstall you adobe applications. Adobe apps don't take kindly to inplace updates of the OS on Macs.

  • How to launch Photoshop CS5 in either 32 bit or 64 bit mode

Some of my plugins - (notibly Nik Viveza & Silver Effects Pro) only run in 32bit mode at present.   I would rather work in 64bit (I think - hard to tell if I'm getting any real benefit - will have to try some benchmarks)  I work with large files 100mb to 460mb "raw"   which can hit 2-3GB after a bit of photoshop work.
So - I'd like to have the option of launching Photoshop CS5 in either 64 bit mode or 32 bit mode, without having to drop out to finder to switch the mode back and forth.
I've tried making a copy and setting one to 32 bit mode (so I have Photoshop 64.app and Photoshop 32.app) which sort of works but it requires that I use up the ONE AND ONLY external editor setup  - which makes launching Photomatics, AutoPano Pro, and Helicon Focus a bit more difficult (not that it wasn't already do the the paucity of external editor setups.   It has another issue - every time I change from one to the other something (I suspect OS X 10.6) tells me the path has changed and do I want to update?  I have no idea what that's doing or why.   Another issue is that I get what appear to be random failures to lauch the edit - almost never works if Photoshop isn't running - sometimes doesn't work even if it is.
    So:
Lightroom needs more External Editor Setups
Photoshop needs a command line option from Lightroom to launch in 32bit mode or 64bit mode.
Need more reliable launch of editor from Lightroom.
If I'm missing a possible solution please let me know

    Vince,
You can have as many External Editors as you want. It isn't very intuitive, but you can hit the Choose button again, choose an application, and then use the "Preset:" dropdown to "Save Current Settings as New Preset..."
All your presets will show up in the "Edit in" context menu.

  • AFP Connection Status box shows each time I launch Photoshop

I am on a 2-computer network and whether I am off the network or on, each time I launch PhotoshopCS the AFP Connection Status box pops up with the message: Looking up "[name's] computer" (the other computer on the network). Why is this appearing and how do I get rid of it? It's the only application this happens in. I'm on a PowerBook G4; the other computer is a G5 tower. Both run OSX 10.4.xx. (When this happens I press Cancel in the dialog box and Photoshop continues to launch.)

BDAqua, Thanks for trying to help; you're the only person who responded. I have read the two threads you sent, but I'm not seeing the similarities between these issues and mine. I don't think I changed a user short name; I went to the Users folder as suggested in one of the posts and there are three users: me, the other person who's computer I connect to sometimes, and a shared folder. The other thread looks like it has to do with someone who's ON a network and can't see the other computers. That's not my problem.
Any other suggestions? It only happens when I launch Photoshop, and naturally I have saved something from the other computer to mine in that program, but in lots of others too.

  • Renewed my Membership but can't launch Photoshop CS6 now without it telling me to renew

Just renewed my membership with Creative Cloud yesterday but now can't launch Photoshop CS6.  Got past the activation problem.  Now it is asking me to renew my membership.  AGAIN?

This issue comes when the Ps app not uninstalled but manually deleted. So when you try to download, it shows you that Ps CC is already installed.
Run the Cleaner tool to remove Ps CC :http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html . Restart your system and then try installing Ps again.

I see this sort of error notice in Bridge and Photoshop, preceded by the message " Photoshop (or Bridge) has encountered a problem and must close. Tell MS.
    Yes or No."
It most frequently happens in PS when running Dfine 2.0. I have no clue what triggers the Bridge closure. It happens randomly.
CS3, so nobody gives a tinkers dam, I suppose.
I see this kind of message in software testing on a regular basis. Of course, when the test is under way, the software is generating a detailed log file which we package up as part of a bug report. Then at the bug scrubs, lively discussions ensue as to who has to fix what!
I can only image what would happen if the Dfine people and the PS people had to sit through one of those!

  • Clicking JPEG icon launches Photoshop but doesn't open file

I run an IMAC Power PC G5 with Tiger 4.11 and recently did a system "archive and install". My JPEG files can only be opened within PhotoshopCS with Command+O. Double clicking an icon from the finder launches Photoshop but does not open the file. Neither does dragging icon on to application icon in the dock.
I ran the disk utility to verify and repair preferences and repair disk.
I reset "Launch Services". Then, I trashed "Adobe Photoshop CS Settings" and relaunched the program -- no change.
Other files (ai, pdf, etc.) open fine. I'm only having trouble with PhotoshopCS.
