Launch PowerPoint in Slide Show View from within SharePoint

I am trying to create a hyperlink that launches the powerpoint in slideshow mode.
For 2010:
http://site/_layouts/PowerPoint.aspx?PowerPointView=SlideShowView&PresentationId=url
This solved my issue in SharePoint 2010, but now I am upgrading and this solution does not work. Is there an alternative? My error suggests that PowerPoint.aspx does not exist.

Hi Jesse,
You can open a PPT file
using PowerPoint Web app in the browser and click “START SLIDE SHOW”. Then it will pop up a window for showing the PPT in the slide
view. You can verify the URL of the popup.
Also I find the format of the URL:
http://site/p/PowerPointFrame.aspx?PowerPointView=SlideShowView&ui=en-US&rs=en-US&WOPISrc=url&sc=url

If it is already pinned, you can try removing any embedded HTML code and checking it.

Spry/Slide Show problems from new host

Recently I moved my site from TDS to godaddy. Everything worked well on TDS, now people get 4 error merssages before the site loads through Godaddy. These are:1) SpryPannelSet.js requires SpryWidget.js! Then 2) SpryFadingPanel.js requires SpryPannelSet.js! Then 3) SpryImageSlideShow.js requires Spry Widget.js! Then 4) SpryPanAndZoomPlugin.js requires Spry Immage Slide Show.js! Most of my pages have slide shows downloaded from the widget browser. When I moved the site, I didn't move the site from TDS, I just loaded the site up from my computer. Is there something I can do to allow people to get on my index page without having to click these error messages. My site is www.tailgatershandbook.com.

SpryWidget.js is corrupt. Try re-uploading and if that does not work try linking to the Adobe JS as per

Open a RoboHelp Project from within SharePoint 2010

Is it possible to place or store a robohelp source file project into SharePoint and open/share the source file as a collaborative project? I have individuals who would like this possibility so they can work in real time. I know robohelp has a collaborative process built in, but I wonder if working from within SharePoint can be done.

Share point can indeed be used as a collaborative tool. However each RoboHelp project is much more than a single file and Sharepoint can't handle whole directories to my knowledge. So you'd be faced with checking each individual project file out and back in. There would also be added complications if you used multiple projects. You really wouldn't want to go there. Stick to using a proper source control tool.

Final slide show viewed on 60" plasma-ideas?

I'm doing a project for a client who will be viewing the final slide show on a 60" plasma screen. Here's my work flow: 1)Scan and color correct with photoshop. 2)Save photos as .tiff. 3)Import into Final Cut HD 4.5. Add transitions, text, chapter markers, etc... 4)Export for use in DVD Studio Pro. 5. Assemble and Burn DVD.
What's the best way to optimize the slides, either in photoshop or FC so that they look great eventually on her 16:9 HDTV? When I've experimented with the displaying the sequences in FC in 16:9 ratio, the pictures look stretched.

You need to work in a 16:9 sequence from the beginning.
Capture the images with just enough pixels for whatever pan/scan moves you need. Increasing the scans WAY beyond what you can use will not help resolution and will slow things down. Hugely oversized images put a great deal of processing overhead on the program and can degrade the images some. When scanning don't worry about DPI as it is a print concept that does not apply in video.
FCP should automatically scale the images to account for the non-square pixel resolution. If you like math, you can use Photoshop to do some of the distorting for you ahead of time.
IF you have enough disk space, you may want to work at a higher than DV codec. It will help some with the text resolution. The DV codec tends to soften text with not always acceptable results.
Still, in the end with DVD, you will only have ntsc level pixels to work with - 720x480 - as there are no High Def DVD disks or players yet.

I want to make a copy of slide show create from my own photographs and with a an audio track behind them. I have carefully followed the iDVD tutorials and burnt the result to a disc but image quality is very poor. What is wrong?

I want to make a DVD of a slide-show with an audio track behind the photographs. I have carefully followed the iDVD video tutorials but the result is far from satisfactory. The quality of the images on the resulting DVD are blurred and indistict although the original photographs are of a very high quality. Where am I going wrong? Would I have better results from a different program than the inbuilt iDVD and if so so what programs have others found to be better? I should be grateful for some expert guidance.

A standard DVD made by iDVD is made to the standard DVD resolution of 720 X 480, which is smaller than most HDTVs and monitors. When expanded to fit the entire screen or monitor, the image will distort slightly due to upscaling to fit the screen or monitor.

Launch Copy Package for OWNERSHIP app from within the FINANCE app

Is it possible to launch the standard COPY package from within another application?
My case is:
I have an OWNERSHIP application with the standard dimensions ENTITY,TIME,CATEGORY,OWNACCOUNT,INTCO. I would like to copy my ownership data from one period to another as it is faster than doing data input for all my entities
Now the challenge:
I would like to launch this standard COPY package that copies OWNERSHIP data from within the FINANCE application. Otherwise the user always needs to switch from applications.
I know it was possible in v4, but I seem to forget something when trying it v7.0 SP7.
Any help is much appreciated

When I was in the legalapp, copy package was opened but with the dimensions of the legalapp
When I changed of to the ownership and tried the macro again, it gave me the good dimensions, but that was not the purpose
When I copied the package and changed the %APP%ù it didnt work either
I even changed %dim% to ownaccount,time,category,legalentity,intco and then the good dimensions appeared when launching the package but he gave an error when selection ownaccount, as it is not a dimension of the legalapp.
Do you see other possibilities?

Fireing outbound plug of interface view from within component

Hi all,
is there a better way of firing an outbound plug of an wd component interface view than from within the interface view controller itself?
The problem is, that you easly get a cyclic reference if you evaluate inbound component plugs in the interface controller (usage from int view ctrl --> int ctrl needed) and then try to fire an outbound plug from this interface controller (usage comp int --> comp int view usage needed).
One workaround is to use some custom controller with usage of the interface view, but this doesn't seem to be a nice solution.
So is it possible to fire outbound comp plugs from, lets say the component controller - without any usage releation to the comp int view - instead, maybe via wdComponentAPI? If yes, could you provide a code snippet?

this is not possible by using the public API only, i'm afraid. It is of course possible, if you decide to forget about the possible drawbacks of using methods and classes reserved for internal use. But you have to use it at your own risk. I hacked this together some weeks ago, don't know whether it still works

How to show image from within a symbol

Howdy,
EA, Win7
I've imported an img on to my stage, converted it to a symbol (and unchecked autoplay).
Then I deleted the img from the stage, the symbol w/img still remains in the Assets > Symbols section.
What I want to do now is simply have the img (that's inside the symbol) appear when I click on a button/text.
Is this possible? I've tried...
sym.getSymbol("image").show(); where "image" is the name of the symbol
but this doesn't work. What am I missing?

Looked over the Edge API and it's kinda vague on how to interact with symbols. There's nothing that specifically says 'A symbol must have an instance on the main timelline in order to interact with it'. The API seems to make the assumption that that people automatically know that. Yet when I see something like the following from the Edge JSAPI...
Access a symbol timeline from the main stage
To access the timeline of a symbol from the main stage, use the following in your event:
// Play the symbol timeline sym.getSymbol("symbolName").play();
...it makes me think that I can just call up the symbol on to the the main stage without having an instance of the symbol already on the stage/timeline.
Would be curious to know where in the API it mentions that in order to interact with symbols they must have an instance on the main timeline/stage.

Delete photo during slide show view?

In older versions of iPhoto you could delete a photo while viewing them in slideshow mode. This was helpful in deciding what to keep after a big import. This feature seems to be missing in iPhoto '09. Any suggestions?

Yes this has gone and it's hard to see it as an improvement.
Workarounds: When you import your pics, view the first one at full size and you can then tap the right arrow key on your keyboard to move to the next one. As you do can tap command-delete to move unwanted pics to the trash.

IDVD 08 crashes when previewing slide show imported from iPhoto

I've created a slideshow in iPhoto 08 and transferred it to iDVD 08 using the share menu. It appears in iDVD as a movie and I can add it to an iDVD project in the normal way. Everything appears fine but when I try to preview the slideshow in iDVD, iDVD crashes. The slideshow is stored as a Quicktime movie and I can play it using Quicktime.

I'm having the exact same problem. From iPhoto under Share I select Send to iDVD. In iDVD the slideshow appears, but when I click on it iDVD crashes.
I've also tried exporting from iPhoto which creates a Quicktime .mov file. That file then appears as a movie in iDVD under the media tab. But again, when I drag it into my movie and try to play it iDVD crashes.
Other movies imported into this same project from iMovie play just fine, so I was also looking for a way to import the slideshow's Quicktime file into iMovie in hopes of exporting it from iMovie to iDVD in a different format, but the file is not selectable in iMovie, which I also found puzzling.
I did this all the time in the old iDVD and really hope to get this working again.....

Creating a table/view or temporary table from within a stored procedure

Hi Gurus,
Can someone tell me if it is possible to create a table (or view) from within a stored procedure.
PROBLEM:
In fact I need to create a report at back end (without using oracle developer forms or reports). This report requires creating several tables to hold temporary report data. If I create a sql*plus script for this, i works fine, because it can run DDL and other sql or pl/sql statements sequencialy. But this sql*plus script cannot be called from application. So, application needs an stored procedure to do this task and then application call that procedure. But within stored procedure, i am unable to create table (or run any ddl statement). Can somebody help me in this?

(a table and a stored procedure)
I don't see any problem to have "two
components" here. After all, what about all others

why want manage less objects, that implies more code,

Nicolas.The same reasons apply if you were forced to declare all PL/SQL variables publicly (outside the stored proc.) rather than privately (from inside the stored proc). Naming conflicts for one. If the name that you want to use for the GTT already exists, you need to find a new name. With the SQL Server type local/private declarations, you wouldn't have that problem.
I can see how performance would be the same or better using GTTs. If the number of records involved is low, this is likely negligable.

File>export> save as: IDML.
This issue happened to me while exporting to PDF, too. but after saving as IDML, the elements were misplaced! i had to rework them. but at least i didnt loose everything. anybody got a better solution to that? note: always keep an IDML backup of your Indesign files.

HT201077 Viewing shared photo stream in web browser in slide show mode

The pictures in my photo stream used to fill the whole web page when in slide show view
now they sit in the middle of the page surrounded by a black boarder.
Can this behaviour be changed back to full page display?

If you are using iOS 7, open the Photos app on your iPhone, tap Shared at the bottom, tap Edit at the top, then tap the icon next to the album you want to delete. If you only want to delete selected photos in it, tap the album, tap Select at the top, tap the photos you want to delete, then tap the trash icon at the bottom.
