Launching a PDF from an Email

When I try to open a PDF attached to an email, the systems attempts to find a version of Acrobat 11 Pro which I had purchased and since returned/removed. How do I get it to use Acrobat Reader to open the document?

Right click any downloaded PDF already on your system. Choose "Properties".
Under the General tab, where it says "Opens with" click "Change".
Select Adobe Reader and click "OK".
Click "Apply".
Click "OK" and ALL PDFs will now open with Reader.

Javascript error when launching XFA pdf from browser

Hi all,
I am trying to use my XFA PDF from a browser. On my local system I have set up a web server and am launching my PDF from there. However, I am getting a ReferenceError with regards to one of my Javascript functions.
My PDF has dependency on a javascript file that resides in the Acrobat path as follows:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Javascripts\
When I use my PDF directly from an Acrobat instance, everything works fine. The issue comes up only when launching from server. How do I link the javascript file to my PDF?
Edit: The user is going to be launching the PDF from the server via a web browser. In such a case where do I place the javascripts?

My JS code contains a readFileIntoStream which I learnt is also to be run under privileged context. (still learning the ropes here.. ). I have been trying to incorporate the JS code directly into the PDF to get around this privileged context.. but I am unable to find a non-privileged equivalent for readFileIntoStream..
Basically my users would be accessing the PDF from the server direct via the browser. For my testing purposes I am able to run the PDF directly from my desktop via an Acrobat instance without any hitch as the scripts are folder level like you mentioned. Is it possible for the users to be able to access the javascripts from anywhere on the server rather than directly from the PDF? Please note, users will not be saving copies of the PDF on to their local machines (in which case we could have pushed the JS file along to their machines) . I need to ultimately run the PDF from browser.

No option when opening a pdf from an email attachment

I recently had trouble opening a pdf file that was attached to an email, and while mucking around with it, I tried opening it up in Word (which didn't help that particular problem anyway). Unfortunately, now, all my emailed pdf files open up automatically in Word rather than Acrobat Reader.
So now my question is, how do I get them to automatically open in Acrobat reader directly from the emailed attachment instead of Word? At the moment I have to save them all to my c: drive, then right click on them and select Open With Acrobat Reader 10. What I want is for them to automatically open in Acrobat Reader 10 rather than having to save them all to my c: drive first because I have many, many of them to print out. Can anyone help me with this please?

Can you try saving any PDF onto your local machine (say C:\) and then right click on the same.
1. Click on the "Open With > Chose Program".
2. Select Adobe Reader 10 and make sure that you check the checkbox "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
3. Click on OK and you should be good to go.

Launch a PDF from htmlText

Hi - I need to launch a PDF in a blank window - or at least
give the user the choice to "download" it from my app to their
desktop.
The attached code shows how I got it to work using getURL and
an onRelease command...but I need to get the same to work from a
text field. On rolling over the text appears in the field as shown.
When I rollover the btn I get the hand cursor - not so with
the text link. When I rollover the text I get an "I" beam...if that
matters.
The attached code is on the same frame, same layer - so I
can't imagine that the path to the pdf would be different. I
couldn't use getURL on the text so I tried what you see below.
How can I do this?

kglad - Thanks for that. I meant RollOut. That's funny. In
one of these little modules I've made - I HAD to use onRollOut. All
I did was repeat the onRollover code under onRollOut - otherwise
the text would disappear when the user left the hit zone of the
button. I did as you suggest and the text stays put on the roll
out. I'll have to dig that old file up to see what I did that was
different.
AND - as far as that link to a PDF - the reason I was getting
the "I" beam over the links in the text had nothing to do with the
code in the htmlText. I had a "vagrant" textField overlaying the
one I was trying to interact with. It was blocking me from
clicking. So the code in the htmlText above WILL work and DOES work
afterall.

Can't print PDF from an email

I recently received an email with a link to a pdf file. I can view it, but cannot print it.
I tried going to another website to print out a manual, same thing. I can see it, but can't print.
I can print from my email, Textedit, iPhoto with not problem.
This is a recent problem.
I called Epson which is my printer and they said it's not the printer, it's Adobe
I'm now have Adobe V. 9.3.3

The PDF Password remover won't work with a Mac, but don't think I need it.
I downloaded the file and saved it with a different name and it opened.
For some reasons that did the trick for all the PDF's. I can now download the ones I couldn't.

I suspect it's to do with IOS7 but not everyone is affected, mine was working before. I have read on some forums that Apple have just replaced the iPad as they have not been able to resolve the issue. If yours is new I would take it back and ask to try another with IOS7 installed before swapping.

Getting error code 109 when trying to open pdf from an email i received

Hi , Im getting error cod 109 when I try to open a pdf from a contact. all other pdf open fine

I receive an error code = 0x40010015 when trying to open a PDF in Photoshop CS3 for windows.
I do not have Illustrator to open and re-save as the forum discussion indicated.
Is there another way to open a PDF with this error code? I work with Quark, Photoshop and Publisher

Automatically print a PDF from received emails.

I'm trying to make Mail and Automator work together so that everytime I received a email (that I sended myself so I can print it on my mac) it's automatically printed and everything's cleaned up after.
I know nuts about automator, so here's what I did so far.
I config'ed mail with a rule that states that if "printthisplz" (my keyword) is in a mail, move it into the "mailprint" mailbox.
From there, I made an automator workflow that will get the email from that mailbox "mailprint", Get attachments from these mails (being in this case PDFs only) saving them to a folder named "mailprint" on my mac, then "Print" finder items. I also added in the end to Move those Finder items to trash.
At first it seemed to work, except it presented me the printing window of my printer, then said it was completed while nothing printed. The second run showed an error, which was corrected by adding Move to trash (apparently it won't work if there's already a file with the same name in the folder).
So it seems to be fine, if we consider that it should print normaly (which isn't the case so far), but I want to make it run by itself (e.g: whenever a mail is moved to that mailbox, trigger xx workflow or "print the attachments of the mails").

How do I launch an attachment from my email?

I am trying to open a pdf attachment. It used to go to my download file. Now it goes into email heaven. Is there a setting I need to fix?

Wirth an iOS device you have to first go to the app that has the item you want to attach. When in that app you then select the email option for sharing. You can't start from the Mail app.

My suggestions is to download iBooks from the app store. It is made by Apple, it is free and you can store and email PDF files from it - amomh other things - such as downloading and reading books.
After you download iBooks, open the email that contains the PDF that you want to email. Tap and hold your finger down on the PDF icon. A window will pop up with an option to "open in iBooks". Select that option. The PDF will open and now be saved in iBooks. Then when the PDF opens in iBooks, tap the curved arrow icon in the rectangle at the top and select email. Your mail client will open up, Type your email and hit send like any other email.

Launching Quote PDF from UWL

I have a discount approval workflow in CRM. The discount approval person wants to see the quote in PDF when he/she gets the quote approval request in his UWL Task tab, but I haven't been able to figure this one out.
We have the class/method:
zcl_cust_doc_proc_crm_order=>crm_srvcont_exec_smart_form
which we use in the PCUI to display the quote.
I looked at using SWFVISU and adding an entry for object visualization, but I don't understand how this would link back to approval task. Can someone please help me with this or point me to some documentation.

Actually I had checked regardng UWL XML config details about this task and this parameter appears there..
So that is the reason I was wondering whether this is related to any patch levels?
Have you come across any details e.g. patch level pre-requisites etc for dynamic parameters to work with UWL?
Pls let me know If you have any other suggestions to check for.
