Launching Bridge within PS CS6

Just an observation really.
In PS CS5, you could launch / access Bridge from the Bridge Icon at the top of the screen, now (I think) you can only do this by clicking Mini Bridge link at the bottom of the screen and then clicking on the Bridge icon. I personally preferred it when you had direct access to Bridge via the icon at the top of the screen.

I have two 24in monitors. That itty bitty 10x10 icon doesn't eat up a lot of room, neither does the tool/app bar.
With that much screen space you could always undock the Mini-Bridge panel so that the [BR] icon is always available.

It's a matter of work flow. Also not both monitors are used when photo editing. A 10x10 icon doesn't take up that much room. MiniBridge slows the process.  Put the itty bitty icon BACK!  Removing it was a crappy change.

  • Bridge won't open within Photoshop CS6

I have no problem opening bridge on its own, or if I right-click on an image in my folder, but if Photoshop is open and I click on the "Launch Bridge' button at the bottom, I see "Waiting for bridge to open" forever. And then if I launch bridge on its own, close Photoshop, and restart Photoshop and now click on it, it will open quickly. I don't understand why this is so. Can anyone shed any light on this pls?
    Thank you

  • Cannot launch Bridge in CS6

I installed CS6 on both my PC and Laptop, but have never been able to launch Bridge on either device.  Must I uninstall and reinstall, or can I use my disks to repair the inoperable parts of Photoshop?

    Reinstall rarely helps.
Do you have another version running in background?

  • I am unable to access Bridge CS6 within Photoshop CS6

I am unable to access Bridge CS6 within Photoshop CS6 using the File menu>Browse in Bridge. Instead, I receive an error message stating that "Bridge CS6 was not found on this system.  To use this command, please reinstall Bridge CS6".  Also, Mini Bridge fails to connect with Bridge CS6. Any suggestions?  I'm using Mac Operating System 10.6.8

    Hi Pragya,
I uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop CS6 and the problem has not been solved.  The only way I am able to open Bridge is through its own application folder. Once I'm in Bridge, I can access Photoshop CS6 by going to the file menu and choosing  Open With > Photoshop CS6. Bridge seems to be able to comminicate with Photoshop CS6 but Photoshop CS6 is unable to recognize or find Bridge CS6.  Any other suggests? Thank you.

  • Launched bridge, then all it says is waiting for Bridge CS6

trying to view my pictures on my computer
in CS6 and I lauched Bridge and now all it says is "waiting for Bridge CS6"
I have been using Lightroom 4 so I am not a complete idiot, just new to PS CS6. Any help is appreciated.

In Photoshop, are you launching 'Bridge' or 'MiniBridge'? Usually the error message 'Waiting for Bridge' comes when you try to open MiniBridge in Photoshop.
The first thing you can try is to purge preferences & cache in Bridge.
On Mac, hold down the Command (apple), Option and Shift keys as you startup Bridge.  You will get a dialog box asking if you want to reset preferences.
On Windows, Control Shift Alt and follow the instructions in dialog box.
Let us know if that fixes your issue. If not, don't panic - there's other solutions!

  • Adobe CS6 Cloud within Adobe CS6 Bridge

Hi folks... Does anyone know How I can view my Adobe cloud assets within Adobe CS6 Bridge?  Running Windows 7 64Bit

Not possible at the moment. I imagine however, that when Creative Cloud Connection becomes available and syncs your files to your computer, you can view your files via Bridge and anything you do on your computer will sync automatically back to the cloud storage.

  • Problems with Bridge Photo Downloader CS6

I get the following error message when trying to use Photo  Downloader in Bridge?  Did not used to be that way, just started a few weeks ago and I have changed nothing on my iMac.  Tried re-installing CS6 (I own a copy) and it fixed it for a few downloads but now it is doing the same thing as before.  Any thoughts?

Can you attached the screen shot of the message? Did it say that some issue happens for your cache and need you to purge? OR did you press Opt key when you launch Bridge?
    Thanks!

  • Application Error when launching Bridge (CS3)

I get this message when trying to launch Bridge - either from within an application, or by itself:
'The exception unknown software exceptoin (0x000000d) occurred in the application at location 0x006866a3.
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
What does this mean, and how to fix?

Not a techie, but did it work before, or was this just installed? If a new install may have to uninstall and reinstall.
Other problems I have seen recently is conflicts with Photo Elements 4 and Quicktime.

  • Launching Bridge CC from thumbnails

Ever since installing Bridge CC I can no longer launch Bridge from a thumbnail.  Yes, I have done all the obvious file associations in Windows 7 and in Bridge Preferances. And i have clearned out all old preferance files and reinstalled CC twice.  Can launch Bridge fine and go to pictures but cannot launch by double-clicking on jpeg.  Open With gives me Bridge option but nothing happens--Bridge will not launch.  Help.  Thanks.

Sorry for confusion.  I was using “thumbnails” too broadly. L  Replace thumbnail with file, that is a jpeg file in a folder.
Even with PS and Bridge open if I click on a jpeg file I cannot get Bridge to launch while I can get PS to launch.
To be more specific, let’s assume we right click on xyz.jpg and select “Open With”.   I am given options of course and if I choose PS it will launch PS.  Same with Windows Photo Viewer. And others.
But if I try Bridge nothing happens.  Nothing.
Fyi, I have reinstalled Bridge CC three times and am running Windows 7.  This all used to work fine before I switched from CS6 to CC.
    Thank you.

When I open Bridge Master Collection CS6, I get the message: There was a mistake in Bridge, therefor the cache cannot be read. Try to erase the central cache to solve the problem. The solutions given by Adobe don't help me. Does anyone have another solution....????
    Alvast bedankt. Jaap Wals.

When launching Bridge, press and hold down Command-Option (Mac) or Control-Alt (Win) + Shift to choose “Reset Preferences”, Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache”, and/or Reset Standard Workspaces”.

  • Mini Bridge inside of CS6 cannot browse to other locations

You are unable to navigate (browse) to a new location using the MINI BRIDGE inside of CS6,  You are prompted with message "Waiting for CS6..." and norhing happens.

What have you done so far to troubleshoot this?
    Some things to suggest:
Make sure Bridge is launched and started
    Restart Photohsop
    Restart the computer
If any of these steps don't fix it, please provide your system info located in Photoshop's Help > System info dialog box.

  • Problems launching Bridge from Photoshop and opening files as smart objects in Photoshop from Lightr

I am running Photoshop CC (up to date as of today) and Lightroom 5.2.  I  am hitting 2 major problems.  In Photoshop if I select File/Browse in Bridge I get the following message
"Could not complete the Browse in Bridge command because Photoshop was unable to find the JavaScript plug-in".
However if I simply launch Bridge as an application it works ok (now I have reset the default application for all the appropriate file extentions to Photoshop CC rather than Photoshop in Bridge preferences) and opens the file in Camera Raw 8.2 in Photoshop when a Raw file is double clicked.
The second problem is associated with opening raw files in Lightroom 5.2, editing and then trying to "photo/edit in/Open as smart object in Photoshop" .  In this case Photoshop opens with a blank screen and nothing happens  Eventually about a minute later this message appears in Lightroom 5.2
"The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CC could not be launched."
Rather strange message as the first thing that happened was that Photoshop CC opened!!
Same thing happens if try "photo/Edit in/Edit in Adobe Photoshop CC" except that having shut down photoshop I see a message from Lightroom 5.2 saying
Lightoom was unable to prepare the selected file at ..... for editing.  It will not be opened.
When I click the OK button on this message low and behold the tif version of the RAW file opens in Photoshop. ready for futher editing with all the Lightroom edits applied.
Can anyone help me in sorting out this problem please
Operating system is Windows 8 64 bit and I am running the 64 bit Adobe applications.

Solved the problems by uninstalling Bridge and Photoshop then going into Creative Cloud App and re-installing both.
