Launching new calendar in separate window

My wife wants her own separate iCal calendar.
We both use the same computer.
Is there a way to set up a separate calendar for her that comes up on a separate window?
Rather than having to toggle on and off our separate calendar listings in the calendar column?

Pages Load in Separate Window after Sleep Mode

Occasionally, after my computer has been sleeping, Safari will launch links into a separate window that is beneath the initial window. When I close the first window to view the newly opened one, both windows close. It does not do this every time my computer has been idle, so I've been unable to draw a direct link between the glitch and my computer having been asleep. The only remedy I've found is to restart my computer.
A similar glitch happens with Firefox, only the links open in a new tab than a new window. I've not tried using any other browsers.
I've reset preferences, fixed permissions, and looked for some sort of crash report, but there isn't one. I've not installed any plug-ins for Safari either.

I have this problem always after sleep. The GUI is in a strange mode (not only in Safari), but when i shortly press the key combination ?? eject (option command eject) the GUI is back to normal. This is a workaround - unfortunately i don't know how to avoid the strange behaviour.

Others have commented on this too. It seems to be one of the 'improvements' of the newer version you are supposed to embrace with joy as an exciting new development. You can send feedback to Apple but realize you may be perceived as standing in the path of progress.

How do I separate the iPad's own generic calendar app from a calendar app I purchased, so that the entries I put into the new app don't cross over to the generic app? Click the orange Firefox button, and click "Options". This will bring up a new window with a "Tabs" tab at the top. Click that. There will be several checked boxes, including one called "Open new windows in a new tab instead" up at the top of the list. Uncheck that box and you should be good to go.
ETA: This should also work if you click "Tools" and "Options" within your version.

Launching the JIVE software in a separate window

Hi All,
I'd installed and configured Jive in the EP.
I'd created iView in Portal and its working fine. Now I want to launch the JIVE software in a separate window without portal navigation as
http://forum.abc.com/index.jspa.
i.e without giving portal information.
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

To launch Jive in separate window,
go to Dir:\usr\sap\E7O\JC01\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.netweaver.coll.forums\servlet_jsp\forums\
root\templates\default.
In the template.jsp file change the
parent.location.replace("<%=portalServerUrl%>/irj/portal/forums?ForumsTarget=" + forumsTarget);
to
parent.location.replace("<%=portalServerUrl%>/forums/" + forumsTarget);

Every time i launch mail , every mail in my folders is displayed on screen via a separate window , it takes about 5 minutes before i can do anything else

Every time i want to work witch mail clicking the application (the stamp) it starts with representing every mail in my folders in separate windows, by the time this is done (taking up to 15 minits, the applications does not react anymore. Other apps are working flawless.

What iMac model? What OSX version? (iOS is not a computer operating system)

I created a new SAP BSP IView ans set the value of parameter 'Launch in a New Window' to 'Display in Separate Window'.
I also put a value in parameter 'Quick Link' : myquicklink
When i call my iview directly (https://www.myserver.com/irj/portal/myquicklink) the iview is shown in the portal frame instead of a new window..
When i select the iview in the portal menu, the iview is shown in a separate window.
Is it standard behaviour that the iview is not shown in a separate window using the quicklink?

Hi Joris,
the 'open in new window' is a relative setting to the portal framework,
It is normal that you have a new window popping up once logged in
and not when calling directly.

Iview not opening in a separate Window

Hello Experts,
We have an Iview for approving/rejecting apprasials for Manager. The Iview Id is PddDirect. In order to open this iview in a separate window we have set "Launch in New Window" property to "Display in separate window". This Iview is assigned to a page and that page to a workset then this finally this workset is assigned to a MSS Role. This Iview opens in a separate window when accessed through MSS Role.
Once any employee submits his appraisal Manager gets a link in email to access this appraisal document to approve/reject.

Hi Surendra
As you are telling when manager clicks on the link to access document it opens.
Can you try with changing the property of ["Launch in New Window" "Display in separate window"] of the Source iView i.e where the link is available also you can change target.
If iViews are assigned to pages change the corresponding page properties also. Make sure clear cache of the Iview and Clear history of browser and test the same.

How set up multiple homepages to open in a separate window (not a tab) when desired...

I would like to setup and be able to click on a Firefox profile (I assume profile) or pass parameters to the firefox.exe and have firefox open about 6 separate windows (not tabs) set to different home pages.
If I use the Pipe Symbol in Options, it will open separate tabs but also ause the probelm below which I also would like to solve.
A lot of times I also want to run another instance of firefox by clicking on the Firefox icon in my quick launch tray and DO NOT want it to open up all of these sites again.
How is this best achieved?
In the past I just opened up each site individually in its own window.

You can create multiple shortcuts on the desktop and include the URL to the command line and use the -new-window switch to specify a new window.<br />
You need to use the -new-window switch for each URL (-new-window URL1 -new-window URL2).<br />
If the command line gets to long then you need to use a CMD file to store the full command line (start "" firefox.exe -new-window etc.).

I made iview's property :
Launch in a New window : Display in a separate window .
So when the user logged in and clicked on that iview , It is opening in a separate window --
But width around 30% (that is not full width ), height ok .
So , Can any one tell me so that the iview must be opened in a separate window with 100% height and 100%width .

As you said you are launching in a new window. so in property editor of that iview just check with the properties Height,Width of external window and you can change the height type of the iview to full page insteat of fixed .and check the parameter of the window features . I hope this'll solve your problem.

Popup a dashboard in a separate window?

When I run a dashboard (from Dashboard tab and then choose a dashboard to run), it is always run inside the main window (the CRMOD window).
What's interesting is that when I choose to design a dashboard layout, the system pops up a separete window. After I layout the dashboard, I click 'Save', the dashboard actually runs in this separate window. I can maximize the screen which is really nice if I have charts side by side so I can see better.
So is it possible to configure a dashboard to run in a separate window, so that when everyone runs this dashboard, it is run in a separate window?

This is certainly possible.
1. Embed a dashboard page in the home page (using global web applet). Within the dashboard you create a series of links to the pages you want the users to navigate to, effectively its a dashboard menu. The URL would be something like this:

2. Now you have your dashboard page, you need to configure your link objects to the specific pages/dashboard you want users to navigate to:

Make sure for each of your links you launch these in a new window. Hope this helps :-) it's a great way to ignore the standard dashboard menu which is annoying and gives you loads more space to play with on the page.

Eric, thanks that works but seems like an extra added step also to do it that way. I've got to move and organize a ton of files and I'm looking for a easy way to get this done. I could also open the folder into a separate tab and then drag the tab out so it becomes an open window but thats a lot of fussing around also with extra steps. Not sure why these newer operating system seems more confusing and less user friendly than what they used to. In the past I could just click on any folder and it would open in a separate window making it really easy to copy or move files from one place to the other just by simply dragging them from one window to the other. Seems like I'm going through several extra steps now to do a simple task.
