Launchpad deletion question mark on steam games and other apps

Hello, when in launchpad some icons if double clicked have a question mark that appears than if you hold them down the jiggle and the black x appears unlike before you double clicked it what does this mean? As an example I created a desktop shorcut for a steam game and put the icon in launchpad than I dumped the icon on the desktop in the trash. When I tried to use the jiggly method to delete the launchpad icon no x appeared but when I double clicked it a question mark appeared and than the little black x? Has what I did damaged the game or app ina anyway?

They may be in Users/your_name/Library/Application Support depending on how they were installed.

don´t be worry, this would not be a problem.
You have to take the same Aplle ID on both devices, then you can sync them via iTunes by using all universal apps on each device, create playlists, albums and all the things you need and sync it, no problem...

HT4847 Why would I back up games and other apps in iCloud? If I don't back them up (to free storage space) what happens if I lose my phone? Thanks

So I've never asked a question before and and unsure why I have to re-ask it here but here goes. I received an e-mail that my iCloud storage id full on my iPhone4. I see that I have every app backed up? What does that do for me? Why would I want to back up games, or SiriusXM, things like CNN, Skype apple store? And what happens if i don't back them up and lose my phone?

If one day you need to restore from a backup due to stolen, replaced, or corrupted system on a device, apps not included in the backup will not have their data files restored. I don't turn on a lot of my apps since I don't care about any data they may store (e.g. CNN recent stories or game points). But I suspect that these apps contribute very little to total backup space. It's the camera roll and apps like Goodreader that store a lot of PDF and other files locally that pad up a backup.

HT1688 I used a MC $50 Giftcard for the iTunes one day. It was supposed to update the games, and other apps on my phone. Only, it wouldn't go through, the credit card was declined. Still, I was charged 4 times. How do I get this back??

I bought a Mastercard Giftcard for $50 the other day. It was only because the games needed updating before I could play them again, and my card on file had expired.
I kept getting a message stating the the card was declined. Also, it kept telling me to try to put in another card, or different form of payment.
I tried several times to get the MC to go through, and it didn't. It was not even showing that the card info even updated!
When I went to check the amount of the giftcard, there were 4 pending charges of $10.89 on it.
How do I get this money back? Please let me know as soon as possible.

I did but that was from a month before, I want pics I took after that backup time. It deleted without my consent like this is not cool. I had recent pics from my trip.

HT1977 I don't have the App Store installed on my iPod Touch. How do I get it on there in order to put games and other apps on???

I've tried going through several outlets, I cannot seem to figure out how to install the actual icon/program (the Apps Store) onto my iPod Touch. All I have on there is iTunes, Safari--and the bare minimum that it came with . I'm trying to install the App Store onto my iPod Touch so that I can sync games onto it--and try to use it to its fullest potential....Please help?

- You need at least iOS 2 for apps. Go to Settings>General>About>version to find the iOS version. If you have a 1G iPod you can get the last update for that model here:

No audio in calls, but games and other apps are fine?

I recently bought myself an iphone 4s, its running the latest firmware.
When i make and recieve calls.. I cant hear the person on the other line and they cant hear me... But when i use apps such as skype, the mic and speaker works fine, in games the sound works fine, when using siri the mic works fine.
Everything works as it should, its just when making and recieving calls.. any ideas? anyone heard of this happening before or experienced it?
Ive tried restoring the phone and re installing the firmware and setting up as a new phone but ive still had no luck.

If these do not resolve the issue or if you are not comfortable with proceeding through these steps then take your Mac to an Apple store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. An Apple store will perform these initial steps, diagnose the problem, and give an estimate for repairs (if needed). Question marks on my pictures and diagonal lines down the page

My site is web.mac.com/jkmerchant. Last night I changed a couple page names, re-ordered them, added some photos, added a blog entry and updated the text, added a new picture on the welcome page and replaced a picture on the welcome page. Ever since then, my changes publish (with an error) and I can see the updates via my browser, but almost all of my pages now have question marks on the pictures and diagonal frame type lines down the page. I appreciate any suggestions to fix this problem. I've verified the question marks are appearing in IE using a windows computer and Safari (as well as in iWeb) on a Mac.

Well, go to a library or friends house & download file. Do not expand. copy to zip drive. etc.
Here is how to download iCab from the terminal. the curl command reads html page. I fished out the download link. I think you want 501. To get link, click on what download you want. In the page that comes up . Look at the http source. search for auto & copy link.

What is exactly your problem?
If you see a question when you visit a site where a QuickTime movie is embedded, there are possibilities. One is that there is a link made to the QuickTime, and QuickTime cannot access it. The second possibility which most people have is that you don't have an appropriate decoder for the QuickTime video. I only responded to the first case. And the second case is discussed several times a day.

Check the Application folder.
If it is not there, contact YNAB Finance for a OS X Yosemite compatible version of the application.
