You closed my thread and asked me to go to the "my support cases" area on my profile page, but there is none there.

    Yesterday and again today I have attempted to post a support case.   On my Win 7 Pro 64 computer, I have used both the current versions of Chrome and IE but when posting the case get a "Unable to Complete Your Request" message.   Is anyone else getting this?  Any know work around?

    Standard troubleshooting...
    Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
    Remove the Phone app from Recently Used list...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
    - Press the red  to delete the Phone app from this list.
    - Press the home button twice when done.
    - Restart the Phone app
    If still a problem restore with your backup.
    If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
    If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

    The bug in ios6 that makes pairing an iPad with TV impossible is well documented, so I gave up trying and thought to call Apple support for an official line.
    Of course, they won't give me a number in the UK to call and, when I try to raise a case with support for a call back, I'm told my support period has expired. They want money out of me to fix a bug in their own software... And my Apple TV is precisely ONE DAY old!!!
    Has anyone got a way of contacting this lot in the UK?
    There's little doubt about the reputation Apple are getting: world-beating design and technology but, once they have your money, an arrogant disdain for their customers that will, if unresolved, eventually tarnish the image of this global leader.

    The only place where you will find teh Airplay icon is next to your volumre control in itunes or on an Iphone.  If you can find that icon then you click on it and mirroring will occur.

    Well, posting in this forum resulted in a technician showing up on a Sunday afternoon ... phone service restored. Thanks. However, in one of my postings Verizon says to check 'My Support Cases' link to communicate with them and then locks the post so I cannot respond to ask for more details about the link. I have looked all over the site and cannot find this 'My Support Cases' link. Has anyone else found it?

    I guess I must be dumb ... I only found the list of my postings and still find no "My Support Cases' link.   Another Verizon tech replied to one of my forum posting that I haven't checked or responded to some posting in that location ... then doesn't allow 'Reply' ib their posting.
    I still need to update the work order.  A Tech showed up on Sunday night and spent an hour trying to trace lines on the road ad restored service so we thought we were set.  But then during the week we started having issues again with noise, disconnect of calls in the middle of speaking with someone, not being able to make a call and then no dial tone ater that.  I tried to open another repair report on this site today but can't get past that automatic check the line action.  This is so frustrating.

I came into the store i didn't want the money back i just wanted more things for the phone like the cool mophie  case  gold to match my phone she come back out after  30 minute of me waiting  to tell me im sorry but we cannot give you your money back and i ask her why im still with in the 14 day return period and was told that i can get the different back i try telling her that all i wanted to do is get the case and the different she can put to the account. she kept saying no it cannot happen so i  ask to speak to a manger and she would not come out she stay in the office and the lady that was helping me was just going back forth with me and the manger i told her i would like to cancel the service and i just go back to my old phone company she wouldn't cancel the service with me told me now the manger would put a credit to the account and i can order the case that way with really don't make sense to me if you can credit my account why is it i cannot get credit for my case today and i really don't know as she kept saying to me, i didn't want a credit to my account i want my case .

I never had a problem before and have always used Mozilla Firefox as my browser. The Firefox4 also looks different since I changed it. No Google bar in the center, or the Mozilla logo.

    You can do a test if it works in Private Browsing mode. In PB mode the disk cache isn't used and also the currently saved cookies are not available.
    You can enter Private Browsing mode if you select:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
    *Check-mark: [X] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
    Close the Options window and open the Hotmail log in page.
    You can remove the check-mark ([ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode") to leave PB mode.
    If that works the it is possible that there is problem with the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    You can rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> and <b>cookies.txt</b>, if they exist, in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

    Trying to uninstall and download itunes keep getting message "the older version of apple software update cannot be removed contact support group. There must be a hidden file I can't find.

    Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25 2010. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
    Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
    After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
    If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
    Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove".
    Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    If you can't sign in, then you can't troubleshoot and/or pair the keyboard until after that........ so, for that, you will need to borrow someone's USB wired keyboard in order to get signed in and to the Keyboard Bluetooth Preferences.

    The iPad 1 can be updated to iOS 5.1.1. You can see what level you are running in Settings > General > About > Version.
    If you are not at iOS 5.1.1 and if you are have iOS 4 (or earlier) there is no Software Update in Settings. That feature was first added in iOS 5.
    To update you will have to connect your iPad to iTunes on a computer (preferably the one you sync with and backup to).

    If you are on level 5 but not at 5.1.1 you can update to 5.1.1 using Settings > General > Software Update.
    There are still many Apps which will run on iOS 5. Also, some developers have older levels still available for the iPad 1.

  • T430s - cannot get supported multi-monitor configuration to work

    I just purchased a new T430s and, overall, I've been very happy with it.  However, I'm having trouble getting a particular multi-monitor configuration to work.  Very simply, I am trying to get the very first configuration as is described on this page...

    It is simply a 3-monitor setup where one monitor is external and hooked up via VGA, another monitor is external and hooked up via DisplayPort, and the third monitor is the actual laptop monitor.  I simply cannot get this to work!  I can plug in a single external monitor, but when I try and plug in a second, it always disables my laptop monitor, so I end up with only a 2-monitor setup.  Can anyone please help?
    *Also, I should note, I've called Lenovo Support 3 times after encountering this problem, and, suffice it to say, it was an EXTREMELY frustrating and discouraiging experience.  All in all, I spent over 2 hours on the phone and each time, they essentially REFUSED to help me!  They kept citing that it was a "configuration" issue and that it's not their problem, and then they'd forward me to another department which would then forward me right back to them.  At one point, one rep said that I was essentially "**bleep** out of luck".  Furthermore, when I was getting frustrated with the lack of help, I asked a rep to escalate the issue and allow me to talk to a manager.  He said that he COULDN'T DO IT because the system wouldn't allow it, again, citing that it's a configuration issue and not their responsibility!  Does anyone from Lenovo ever read these forums?  Will someone PLEASE take ownership of this issue and help me out?  I'm not asking for much!  I just want to get a setup that you guys say is supported!
    Sorry for the rant, but my interactions with Lenovo support have really been frustrating.  Anyways, any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the forum!  Thanks for the question and  tweet about this thread.  Thanks Lead_Org for getting us started... I know you have tried out a number of multiple display configs, so you may have some follow up suggestions....
    As far as I know...
    The T430s supports external displays a little differently than the T420s did, and differently than the T430 and T530 do.  There are a number of different discussions on T430s multiple display configs in the forum - you might search a few and just browse them to see the combinations others have tried and their experiences.  Here is one example.  Here is another more recent.

    Here is an official tip with specific configs that Lenovo supports for the T430s.
    From our official tip, it appears that you cannot have both the LCD and external VGA and displayport.  I think you can have 2 external displayport displays and either a 3rd external via VGA port, or the built in LCD.   I remember trying out some of these a year or so ago, and I seem to recall that you needed a dock to get 3 external, or 2 external and the internal LCD to work on the T430s.
