Layer 0 exceeds the max layer

When I try formatting a dvd I get the message: Layer 0 exceeds the max layer size allowed please choose a suitable marker location that will support this condition.
I brought in a 2 hour and 45 minute vcr video and added chapter markers. Does this simply mean the size is too big or what is it looking for?
Thank You

DUAL LAYER BREAK POINTS
Basically when burning a DL disc there needs to be something called a "break point" which is effectively a marker at what is considered a "permissable" spot for a break point. The requirements for break points have certain conditions (Layers cannot exceed certain sizes, Layer 0 needs to be larger than Layer 1 etc.) If there is not a marker that meets these conditions, then you will get various error messages.
1.) In a DL disc Layer 0 needs to be larger than Layer 1
2.) A marker needs to be placed as a Layer Break in the project to indicate the layers.
3.) You can start by assuming the marker will be right around the 1/2 point of the disc (give or take)
4.) Find the place which is about 1/2 way and put a few markers in there
5.) Build the DVD to the hard drive then select format. If there is a suitable layer break marker it will be black otherwise it will be gray.
Look [over here|http://dvdstepbystep.com/break.php] has generally the same info and some links for things to look at.

    Hey timeline
    welcome to the apple boards...
    ill give you the easy fix, although i would recommend the proper fix.
    first, build your project on any of your drives so you can see your audio and video TS folders.
    once you see your build, then click on "Format" and before you click on format (on the lower right hand corner of the Format window, click on the second tab and under "Layer Break" click the drop down box and whatever is NOT greyed out, can be used as a layer break.
    the more proper way do it it would require you to do some calculations based on the amount of video in your project and re-encode your video.
    hope that helps

    It sounds like you are trying to burn a dual layer disc. Do you need a dual layer disc? (i.e., do you have more than 4.3 GB of material?) If you do then there is a tutorial at;

    I am getting the following message and do not know what to change in my pref.
    Formatting was not successful. Layer 0 exceeds the maximum layer size allowed. Please choose a suitable marker location that will support this condition.

    No change in preferences, it is something you need to make a marker for on a DL Disc
    On the layer break some threads below - basically there needs to be a marker somewhere so that is around 1/2 way give or take Take a look at the PDF pages 576-586 for some of the details.

  • Selecting (and resizing, for example) a layer under the top layer via the Program Monitor

    Hello all.
    Using CS5
    I am in the timeline and have selected layer 1 which is a video layer
    Layer 2 is a title layer.
    I want to manually resize layer 1, via the Program Monitor.
    But when I go to the Program Monitor and select it Layer 2 (the title layer) becomes selected, preventing me from selecting and manually resizing/repositioning Layer 1.
    The above example is a simplified version of what I usually find myself doing.  Usually I have many layers above a layer that I want to resize or reposition (or do something else) but when I try to resize or repositon via the program monitor I am only able to manipulate the top layer.
    Any suggestions, other than locking every layer other than what I want to resize etc .?
    Thanks
    Rowby

    Hi Bill,
    No they are separate orginal tracks.
    Is there a way to "select" a layer below the top layer via the Progam Monitor -- and perform modifications on that lower level -- such a manually resizing on the Program Monitor.  I find if I want to do it via the Program  Monitor I have to temporarily lock the top layer.
    And if I have lots of layers above the layer I want to manually resize, I have to lock all of the layers above that layer so I don't start moving around (for example a title layer which might be the top layer of the sequence) in order to manually resize via the Program Monitor.
    I know (for example) in the case of scaling or repositioning a layer I could do it via the effects control panel, but I often want to do it via the Program Monitor.

  • Inactive sessions  accumulate exceed the max session

    Hi All,
    once i checked the v$session, always find lots of inactive session.nearly after two month it will exceed the max session value in the init.ora profile.
    I have check the sqlnet.ora profile and the value of expire_time is 10 minuter, while not sure why so many inactive session? and if i need to kill all inactive session?
    Best Regards,
    Chelsea

    INACTIVE users are users not actively running a query, but they are connected to the database.
    If SQL expire time is set, you can verify the logfiles, if users get disconnected because of idle connections.
    For the remainder I agree with the other post.
    Cheers

    Hi all,
    Since last week my 2013 farm (3 WFE, 3 App server, SQL 2012) application event log flooded with error every 5 minutes.
    Table RequestUsage_PartitionX has 442892288 bytes that has exceeded the max bytes 442857142.
    I have google the error and only found Steve Mann's blog discussing about this.  Yet there is no additional information in terms of how to fix it.  Just wondering if anybody has seen this and know how to fix it?
    Appreciate any suggestion and thanks in advance.

    Hi  Sally,
    Thank you for your posting!
    For your error, it is coming from the Usage Infrastructure. The root cause is that your SharePoint Server  usage data is exceeding the daily partition size for the logging DataBase.
    For more detailed information, you can refer to the blog:

    Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • Exclude an layer from the adjustment layer

    Hi ,
    i don't know why adobe still didn't add this option to after effects !!!!!!!!
    we have alot of problems with this
    i can't just keep pre-comping stuff !!!!!
    adding a simple column between the 'track mat' and the 'parent' to exclude the selected layer from an adjustment layer in top of it will simple thing's Up .
    please consider this option
    My bests

    Hey guys.
    I was stuck with the same problem, so I found a way to solve it with minimal changes.
    I have a silly 2d animation representing days and nights passing by. To improve the sensation, I put an adjustment layer to tint all layers below every time the moon rises. But the adjustment layers also tints the sun and moon and with my current structure, full of overlaps, it will be a pain to reorder and mask all layers. So I simply duplicate the layer that I was working on and rename it to "MEGA LUMA MASK" and put them just above the adjustment layer. Inside this new duplicated layer, I tint all layers to total black, except for the moons and suns, which I tint to total white. What I got was a perfect luma mask that respects all overlaps without needing to touch the structure. Finally I just set the track matte of the adjustment layers to Luma Inverted!
    No pre composes (kinda), no crazy masks. Of course an adjustment layer exception system would be better, but it's a clean, fast and versatile solution.

  • Which layer is the target layer?

    How can I determine which layer among those in the ->layersDescriptor structures corresponds to the target layer?
    In photoshop cc x64 pc
    -- all the read channel numbers seem to be unique
    -- all channels have ->target=1
    (edit after more work with layersDescriptor)
    the information presented has a lot of errors and omissions, such that it's impossible
    in principal to display layers the same way as photoshop does.  Invisible "pass through"
    layers are listed as visible.  Layers with "stroke" special effects are indistinguishable
    from normal layers.

    Layers with "stroke" special effects are indistinguishable
    from normal layers.
    Here is how to find stroke (keyFrameFX, descLayer is starting layer descriptor, in this case code also look if effects are visible)
    hasKey=0;
        error = sPSActionDescriptor->HasKey(descLayer, keyLayerEffects, &hasKey);
        if (error) goto returnError;
        error = sPSActionDescriptor->GetBoolean(descLayer, keyLayerFXVisible, &effVisible);
        if (error) goto returnError;
        if (hasKey && effVisible){
                error = sPSActionControl->StringIDToTypeID("classLayerFXVisible", &runtimeClassID);
                if (error) goto returnError;
                error = sPSActionDescriptor->GetObject(descLayer, keyLayerEffects, &runtimeClassID, &descEFFECTS);
                if (error) goto returnError;
                // FRAME
                error = sPSActionDescriptor->HasKey(descEFFECTS, keyFrameFX, &hasKey);
                if (error) goto returnError;
                if (hasKey)
                    error = GetFrameAttributes(index, info);
                //etc.

  • I created a new layer and copied the contents of another layer into the new layer. Now whenever I ed

    I have a template that I am editing. I have created new layers by duplicating an existing layer. The problem I am having is that anytime I make a change to a duplicated layer it changes the original as well. ie if I attempt to edit the action script on the new layer it changes the action script on the original? It seems as though they are linked and I can not find a way to unlink them??

    You should be able to edit the immediately present contents of different layers without affecting other layers, but if you are editing anything at a level below the layer, such as doubleclicking to edit an object in that timeline, you are changing it anywhere it is used.

    As you all said, Ai is a 32 bit program and as such can run out of usable memory quickly, not by creating a lot of vector objects, but by having too much memory sucked up by raster objects. This is not a problem when raster object are "linked" but when they are embeded.
    It appears the problem occures when you ask Ai to either convert vector objects to raster or create raster objects like shadows. Even if you have a linked raster object - say - a photo, and you want to create a shadow underneath it, Ai will embed the raster shadow as apposed to creating a linked shadow object associated with the object you want to create the shadow for.
    Soooo, the larger the linked raster object is (that you want to create a shadow under) the larger the embeded shadow object is. If your creating shadows for small objects, you won't run out of memory very quickly. But if you have big objects you want to create shadows for, you will run out of Ai's allocated memory with just a few objects.
    As far as i know, you can't tell Ai to link internally created raster objects like shadows. So this is where all of the alternative suggestions come into play such as:
    1. reducing Ai's Raster Effects ppi setting (may or may not help depending on how far your over Ai's allocated memory limit)
    2. linking raster shadows created in photoshop
    3. creating wire mesh gradient vector objects to use as shadows
    Until Ai becomes 64bit, I hope this helps others.

    BTW, has anyone printed Ai shadows at a Raster Effects setting of 72 or 150ppi for a large object?
    Does the shadow still look good?

  • Having problem with "artwork size & resolution exceeds the max that can be rasterized"

    Hi all,
    Ok, I created a 162.7" x 90.6" document (artboard) for an exhibition display I'm designing. The document was created using all the defaults - i think this is where i went wrong. Illustrator is now telling me that "the combination of artwork size and resolution exceeds the maximum that can be rasterized" after i open the document and when i try to add a drop shadow to anything.
    Other than some vector graphics i created in illustrator, I only have 3 180ppi and 4 300ppi photos tranfered right off the photograpers camera.
    I selected :
    1. "Print Document" from the initial splash window.
    2. I entered the artboard size, bleed and left the "Raster Effects" setting to "High (300ppi)"
    I think leaving the Raster Effects setting at 300ppi is where the problem is.
    Do i have to create a new document or can i fix the existing one?

    nados you are a little confused that's all I think things are ll right and you are probably set to go with out going to Photoshop.
    1. Your file is probably fine as is
    2. Make certain you images are linked and not embedded
    3. Your Images are probably ok as far as they are for the the specs required do not lower the resolution just make certain they are linked.
    You may have to reimport them and in the place dialog make certain link is checked.
    4. The Raster Image Effects setting is fine leave it as is.
    5. The jpegs are fine lee your images as is if that was what was supplied to you and they look clean.
    6. When saving the file save as .AI format and in the AI save as option dialog uncheck include linked files
    (you will send them the jpegs as well as the AI file.)
    7. Send the images in what ever format they are now since that is jpeg leave it be just make certain the dimensions are the same as is being used in the document at 100%.
    8 Make Certain you select the text and got Type> Create Outlines before saving the file.
    9 Do not export the file to any other format.
    10 Send the printer production house the AI file and the Jpegs you will be fine.
    You should not have a problem with this file.
