Layer 2 links netflow monitoring tools

I am trying find Layer 2 netflow monitoring tools at the moment i have checked with solarwinds,manage engine they are not supporting layer2 interfaces netflow export.Is there any other monitoring tool opensource/closed source applications which can export cisco Layer 2 links.
We are having nexus 7k and ASR1k devices

Hey Nick,
The tricky part is getting the alert from consumed bandwidth. That will be handled from your NMS software of course. To answer your questions-
#1 - You can use the interface OID in MIB-II. There may be a specific MIB on the 3G, but MIB-II should work just fine. You can check on the 3G MIB here: http://tools.cisco.com/Support/SNMP/do/BrowseOID.do?local=en
#2 - I think that would work. You would flow only your interface and send that to NMS. During an outage the router will hold the Netflow data, but I don't think it can push old stats after the primary link comes online. It would probably work if the outage was short but if it was longer, you would have to jump in the CLI and view the data there. I would lab it up, but I don't have any Netflow software

Recommendation for MDM monitoring tool

Dear all
We are using MDM 5.5 Sp06 on HP Unix. What should we use as an monitoring tool?
CCMS and SMD is not supported for the above combination.

SMD is not supported for MDM 5.5 sp06 on HP UNIX platform. We got this confirmed in one of the SAP OSS message also.
since MDM 5.5 SP06 P4 we are supporting CCMS heartbeat again. The documentation is almost finished and waits for last rework - will be provided soon
We are not using P4, but if you can share the documentation or provide the link, it will help a lot.
Just to re-confirm CCMS heartbeat is supported for SP06 P4 on HP Unix. Can you please confirm this?

Netflow analysis tool

Hi,
what is the best available tool for netflow monitoring and specially for troubleshooting issues using flow analysis? I am looking for something that works well on small network of 200 devices.

Easy enough to request a quote from both companies but from what I've seen, PRTG will be less cost. Its Netflow capability is simple but then it also does lots of other things - querying and graphing anything your can get with SNMP.
Scrutinizer is a purpose built tool for flow analysis. It costs a bit more but gives you a lot more functionality if flow analysis is what you need to do. It won't also serve as your general purpose network management tool however. PRTG can do that.
Both tools have trial downloads to try before you buy.

Custome build PI monitoring tool

Hello Experts,
We are in the process of considering PI 7.1 as the next generation of EAI solution.
We have come across a requirement to build a custom web based application to show PI monitoring data.
The current EAI tool comes with such a user friendly web based application where bussiness users can see historic data about messages related to their bussiness units.We thought of having users to login to Run time work bench and see the message data, however, the RWB is too complex for the non technical users and it also have few components (performance monitoring, componenet monitoring) which end will not be concerned about.
Have anybody come across this kind of requirement?? Have anybody tried building a custome monitoring tool over PI in their PI implemetation??
Suggestion and comments will be greatly appreciated.

I apology for the late reply.The link you have mentioned talks about fetching the data out of integration engine tables.
I have following two concerns here about this approch if you would like to add your views on -
1. What if the message fails while it is being picked by the adapter? Will this message state be recorded in the IS tables? My understanding is that this message state will only be stored in the adapter frame work tables which are at java stack.
2. How much volume of data can be transported over the web service? What if I have thousands messages flowing throw the PI on per day basis? And using this web service, I may search for all the message details for the messages passed through the PI system in last one day or one week??

I wont recommend turning off cookies in production.
Turning off cookies was only from a Performance
Testing perspective, Not using cookies for a performance test but using them in production, sort of invalidates the test, since much of the issue I had was the testing tool waiting for data to be returned to the cookies so it could be used to move to the next page.
Partner Management uses all of them. I uses iStore for its external launch page, OA framework for its functionality, but then links to Sales online for Opportunities, and Quotes which I believe is AK framework. so you have a mixture of several
frameworks involved...... plus Discoverer Viewer...

I have written a free Java performance monitoring tool called JAMon that you might be interested in. It couldn't be easier to use and provides a wealth of information including performance and scalability statistics and more. Other features include the ability to monitor production code, and to disable monitoring at runtime.

What do you want to monitor ?
If you want to monitor signal strength and such or do you want to monitor that noone connects to the optical link itself and taps out information, or do you want to monitor traffic flows inside of the link.
or do you want to monitor the cable itself with "special" testequipment.
The First and Third options you can get some stuff out of the switch.
The Second uption there are depending on what type of cabeling and wat speed you are in. Do you want to encrypt the information traveling the links ? if so this can be quite expensive.
The fourth one there are some fiber optics test equipment that tells you of cable faults and types and such.
Those range from about 100$ to 10 000$

I am looking for a reporting or statistic tool for CUCM 8.6. , better we search a Monitoring tool .
Our main concrn is that we would like monitoring the Lines , the Phones , Calls (In und Out) , Count of Calls etc. not only print but a dashboard also .

Here's a quick summary of what to do to view the number of registered phones per subscriber. There's lots more detail on all the available parameters in the docs from that link I gave above.
Open RTMT and select the Default profile. From the left hand window, select the "Performance" option.
This will open the Performance screen. Pick one subscriber from the list of nodes, expand it out, and then expand out the "Cisco CallManager" branch. Select and drag the Registered HardwarePhones option to one of the six blank squares.(You can adjust the divider to make reading the labels easier - but selecting the divider isn't always easy) You can repeat for all your other subscribers.
You can add extra tabs by selecting Edit (From the top-level menu bar) -> New Category.

I have installed 2 Core Switches and 9 Access Switches (4960-X,3560-X and 2960-X) in our organisation. Now we are looking for a Monitoring tool.
To monitor the Traffic status, Link status, Quarterly Health Check, etc. for all the switches on a single page.

Are you looking only to monitor Cisco devices or other devices as well? There are other tools available also so it depends on your environment, budget etc.

Monitoring is a broad term. There are many 3rd party tools available that can provide monitoring, it all depends on what exactly you're looking for.
Oracle has a document on setting up Oracle Enterprise Manager to monitor Hyperion Applications: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/sys9-oem-integration-1-129287.pdf. For performance monitoring, you can also look at this: https://blogs.oracle.com/pa/entry/epm_11_1_2_how3. This will basically connect to the JRockit JVM and look at the performance for the web application.
If you want to do more monitoring (services, servers, processor, CPU), you can look into Hyperic HQ: http://www.hyperic.com/. They have both an open source version and an enterprise version. I've used the open source version myself and it is pretty good and plays well with Windows. You can see many metrics, graphics and information via the web based application. You can also setup email alerts on certain activities (service stop, service start) and also monitor website availability. For being an open source software, I think it offers alot and it is very reliable.
Again, these are just a few suggestions. There are many tools out there that can accomplish what you're looking for.
