Layer appearance targets and overprint attributes glitch

When a layer appearance target has been assigned "multiply" and an object on that layer has been assigned "overprint" the file behaves abnormally. Please address this issue.

"Why use it at all?"
You're using circular reasoning. It's the classic PeeWee arguing technique "I know you are but what am I!".
You're assuming that I want this feature to work out of intentional reasons. Have you given it a second thought that I might want this feature to work in the advent of "accidental" overprint attributes that may come from other people/firms?
Of all people, I'm surprised you are in favor of Adobe NOT fixing a feature they have given us.

    BINGO !!!!
    Thanks so much Woodsroad. I had the exact same problem with my Dell Windows 7 64 bit with AMD Radeon 6700 Video card.
    All the video tests passed with flying colors.
    The sniffer rename trick fixed the problem.
    Thank goodness for the internet!

  • Target group with attributes of persons and organizations

    Hi,
    we are using marketing attributes for persons and organizations.
    Now, we want to realize a segmentation for organizations with marketing attribute “productgroup xyz” and persons with marketing attribute ”decider”.
    Is it possible to combine organizations with marketing attributes and persons with marketing-attributes in one target group?
    thanks

    Hi,
    thank you very much for your answers!
    I’m sorry, I think my description was too short. I have the following situation /  problem:
    I am using InfoSet CRM_MKTTG_BP_ORG with business partner BUT000-PARTNER_GUID.
    My person datasource based on Info Set CRM_MKTTG_BP_ORG and business partner BUT000_PER-PARTNER_GUID.
    Furthermore I’m using an attribute Set for organizational attributes and an attribute set for person attributes.
    Now I want to build up a target group with persons who have specific attributes. The persons should be members of organisations with specific attributes.
    Example:  Persons with attribute “decider” should be member of organizations with attribute “productgroup xyz”.
    We are using SAP CRM 5.0. I added the function modul CRM_MKTTG_PF_BP_TAB_TO_CP in my organization Datasource.
    But I have problems to build up a profil set and a target group where I can combine the attributes of the organizations and the attributes of the persons. The counting result is ‘0’.
    I hope my description is understandable. Thank you in advance!

  • Dbms_redefinition package and COMPRESS attribute of the target table

    Hi experts,
    we have an already partitioned and compressed table under Oracle 10g R2 wich we want to move to another tablespace using online redefinition.
    The table should keep the Partitions and compressed data after the move.
    My question is: How much storage we must have in place for the move of the table ?
    Example:
    tab (compressed size) : 1000 MB
    tab (uncompressed size) : 4000 MB
    Seems it depends on how redefinition handles the move of the compressed data.
    So if redefinition uses INSERT /* APPEND */ .... is should be roundabout 1000 MB ("compress during write")
    Is this assumption correct ?
    Can anybody shed some light on redefinition wich kind of compression-conserving stragetgy it uses ?
    bye
    BB

    From the 11.2 admin guide:
    Create an empty interim table (in the same schema as the table to be redefined) with all of the desired logical and physical attributes. If columns are to be dropped, do not include them in the definition of the interim table. If a column is to be added, then add the column definition to the interim table. If a column is to be modified, create it in the interim table with the properties that you want.The table being redefined remains available for queries and DML during the entire process.
    Execute the FINISH_REDEF_TABLE procedure to complete the redefinition of the table. During this procedure, the original table is locked in exclusive mode for a very short time, independent of the amount of data in the original table. However, FINISH_REDEF_TABLE will wait for all pending DML to commit before completing the redefinition.>
    If you did not want to create an interim table, then this approach is not going to work for you. There is no requirement for you to create anything other than the interim table, and any dependent objects can be done automatically, including materialized views. Where did you see that you have to create mview logs?

    Any hints welcomed.

    In a single-server scenario you will never have the old values and deleted attributes. Once you activate replication, the server starts keeping those values for as long as the changelog maxage (this aids in being able to restore other servers from backup or who were done for some period of time). Unfortunately the changelog maxage defaults to unlimited, so entries can grow very big, especially if there are multi-valued attributes.
    I recommend that sites should consider setting
    nsslapd-changelogmaxage under cn=changelog5,cn=config
    to somewhere from 4-7 days depending on your space/recovery needs.
    You will need to export/import if you want to reduce your database size.

  • Can't select appearance target in file

    I've got a file with about 15 layers and I can't select the appearance target radio button on any layer.
    When I create a brand new file, I can.
    Any thoughts?
    Edit: Nevermind, the layer has to be turned on before targeting it!

    Hi Gersh-
    I figured it out and you are right.
    I've been doing so much BW stuff unrelated to BPS that I forgot to change the mode of the cube.
    Thanks.

  • File and boolean attribute on item

    Hi,
    I work with Oracle9iAS Portal PL/SQL API (9.0.2.6).
    I define an item type (CAID = 213/ ID = 37399) with several attributes. When I try to create/modify an item I have problems with boolean attributes and file attributes.
    In case of boolean attributes, I'm not able to set the value to true. I try with several values (IS_ON, True, 1) but the attribute is still set to false. Is there anything wrong with the value I assign to the attribute before creating the item ? When I try to create the item and then modifying the attribute, the value stay to false.
    For the file attributes, I use the upload_blob function inside wwsbr_api and the file appear in the wwdoc_document table. I set the file attribute value with the return value of the upload_blob function.
    When I call the add_item_post_upload, an error occurs (ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.lang.NullPointerException : -29532)
    Is this a bug or not ?
    Thanks Eddy.

    Hi Eddy:
    On Friday, we put in a TAR with Oracle support about the identical problem. When editing an item using the API, the boolean attributes always reset. The values of the boolean attributes aren't even being changed. The only reason we need to set them again is the limitation of the API where you have to feed all attributes back in.
    So far, Oracle has said it sounds like a bug and they want to know the exact sequence of steps to repeat it.

  • New "Targets and Devices..." dialog does not open in Project window

    Hi I am trying to add an FPGA device in my project, however when I right click on Project, and go to New -> Targets and Devices...It appears as though it is busy (the mouse icon becomes the hourglass) and after while it just goes back to normal and nothing seems to happen. I have an FPGA device installed which is the RIO card PXI-7831R, and the devices seems to be working fine. When opening a project that already contains it as a device, it is displayed fine. Its just the dialog to add new devices and targets does not appear. I have tried Repairing NI Labview 8.0 and NI Labview FPGA Module, but the problem still exists. I would appreciate if anyone has any idea as to why this is happening and how to resolve it. Thanks!

    Hi Kewsvnet
    So you have tried the device on another machine and it works fine, is it only on a specific machine that this issue is occuring on? I think I misunderstood the issue yesterday, am I right in understanding that when you click on 'New Devices and Targets' absoloutely nothing happens apart from the 'hour-glass' appearing for a while? If this is the case it maybe the case that LabVIEW may have become corrupted in some manner. Repairing it will not solve an issue like this. What you should try is to force LabVIEW to create a new .ini file, which holds all the configuration settings. To do this you need to rename the .ini file so that when LabVIEW starts it will detect no .ini file an create a new one.
    The .ini file can be located via C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.0\ LabVIEW Configuration Settings (it is a file size in the range of 2Kb - 10Kb)
    You need to rename this file 'LabVIEW Backup', then attempt to restart LabVIEW and a new project and try to add a target.
    Let me know how you get on

  • Can't see add targets and devices in project explorer

    Hello!
    i think I have a strange query. i have Labview 2010 evaluation version. i am trying to add my cRIO 9004 to a project. I am just trying to follow the instructions in the getting started with cRIO manual. it says, add crio to the project by right clicking root project and selecting NEW>>ADD TARGETS AND DEVICES. The problem is I see the link for NEW but once i click that i dont see a sub-link "add new target or device" appear, INSTEAD i see the dialog box for  opening a NEW LABVIEW FILE appear. every where in the forum/knowledgebase/support trouble shooting and getting started articles have mentioned right-click root project>>select NEW>> select add target or device>> , as if it IS SUPPOSED TO APPEAR STANDARD in all new projects! But I dont see it! i dont get what I am missing. The software version i have are below:
    on cRio:
    NI VISA 5.0
    NI RIO 3.0
    LV RT 8.6
    and it matches with what i have installed on my host computer.
    I can communicate with the cRIO device both using MAX and also using ping command in windows command prompt.
    Any help would be great!!
    Thanks!

    Solved!

    well yes! it didnt strike me though that i had to reinstall my LV addon modules as you had mentioned drivers. anyways thank you!

  • Duplicate layer appearance between documents

    Hi there,
    I use a javascript that copies all objects within a layer to a new layer in a new document. This works fine as all appearances are attached to the objects but appearances applied to a layer will not be duplicated (as the objects are copied into a newly created layer). Is there a method using javascript to duplicate all layer appearances (effects, fills, strokes) from one layer to another layer?
    Thanks in advance.

    It looks as thought the only way to do this is to make the appearances of the layer into a Graphic Style, group the page items on the layer and apply the Style to the new group.

  • Is there a way to turn on Proof Colors and Overprint Preview by default?

    I prepare graphics mostly for print, so I like to turn on the Proof Colors view and Overprint Preview views. It's a pain to turn these on for each document. Is there a way to make these the default viewing settings in Illustrator CS6?
    I tried creating an action to do it, but the Insert Menu Item command in actions causes Illustrator to crash every time, and the help file seems to say that View commands are unavailable to actions. So I'm not sure if that's a bug. Oddly, Photoshop has the very useful File> Scripts> Script Event Manager that let's me turn on Proof Colors (via an action) whenever a document is opened. It works very well. However, Illustrator does not appear to have these options. I found the View> New View options in Illustrator. They let me create a view that turns on Overprint Preview, but absolutely refuse to turn on Proof Colors. So it's the same number of clicks and pointless. Sheesh!
    Thanks!
    Illustrator CS6, v. 16.0.3 64-bit, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

    Not sure about Proof Colours but you can select Overprint Preview in the New Document dialogue.
    Preview Mode > Overprint.

  • Speeding Up Connection to RT Target and Resolving Dependencies

    One of my major peeves with LabVIEW 8.2 is that even though the startup time has been improved somewhat, it still takes a really long time to connect to my RT target and download a VI.
    To be precise:
    -In a blank project, to add the RT target, it takes 12 seconds to expand the tree under "Real-Time PXI" in the Add Targets and Devices dialog.
    -Connecting to the RT target right after adding it (that is, by right-clicking it in the project and selecting Connect) happens almost instantaneously.
    -After starting LabVIEW after restarting Windows for the first time, it takes _50_ seconds to connect to the RT target with my usual project, with its one big VI listed below the RT target in the project.
    -In subsequent restarts of LabVIEW, it takes 20 seconds to connect to the RT target with my usual project.
    The key source of the delay appears to be the resolving of dependencies (as there's no "+" sign next to the "Dependencies" item under the RT target in my project until after I connect to it).  As my VI uses DAQmx, the list of dependencies is quite long.  I thought I might be able to speed up the connection process my making a new folder in the project under the RT target and dragging and dropping all the items from the "Dependencies" tree into that folder, but there's barely any improvement in the connection speed.
    The only way I can think of to really put an end to this problem would be to build my big VI into an executable, but as I am still frequently making changes to it, I am reluctant to do so.  Is there some other way I can stop LabVIEW from trying to resolve these dependencies over and over again?

    Hi kehander,
    You can remove the unused instances of the polymorphic VIs by right-clicking on the VI and selecting Open Polymorphic VI. You can remove any instances that you don't need. At the end save your new VI by clicking on File»Save As , selecting Copy»Substitute Copy for Original, and choosing a location on your harddrive other than the original DAQmx library. You don't want to overwrite your original polymorphic VI.
    You can also build an executable as you mentioned. By default, all unused instances of polymorphic VIs used in executables are disconnected. There is an option to include/exclude unused instances of polymorphic VIs when you do the configuration for your executable.
    Hope that helps!

  • Messaging Server: mail and mailalternativeaddress attributes must be unique

    Email addresses for a given User Directory must have unique mail
    and mailalternativeaddress
    attributes.
    <P>
    Messaging Server uses the following two attributes to search for email
    addresses in the User Directory:<BR>
    <P>
    <OL>
    <LI>mail
    <LI>mailalternativeaddress
    </OL>
    <P>
    Each email address in the User Directory must have unique entries for these
    two attributes. If a given email address appears twice in the User Directory,
    the Messaging Server will display an error message and will not deliver the
    email to either address. In the case where a user wants email that is
    addressed to one email address to go to other email addresses as well (e.g., if
    a user has multiple accounts), you would need to create a group for that user
    and add the other email addresses to the group.
    <P>
    <B>Additional Notes:</B>

    <LI>Administration Server 3.x and 4.x have various mechanisms for
    reducing the likelihood of user error when creating email accounts.
    <P>
    <LI>Administrators of Directory Server 4.x servers should also be aware that
    the mail and
    mailalternativeaddress
    attributes must be unique to prevent collisions between those two attributes.
    <P>
    The uid uniqueness plugin maintains uniqueness within attributes, but not across attributes.
    Using this feature for both attributes cannot fully prevent address collisions.
    <BR><P>
    For example, a user could theoretically enter duplicate values for the
    mail and
    mailalternativeaddress attributes:
    <BR>
    <P>
    mail: [email protected]
    <BR>
    <P>
    mailalternativeaddress: [email protected]
    <P>
    Although the server would initially accept this value for both attributes, it
    will post an error message later when it processes an email addressed to this
    address.
    </UL>

    What does “I overwrote the information in Accounts” mean? What exactly did you do? More info, please.
    Deleting a mail account (which i not the same as overwritting the account information) causes all your mail stored in that account’s mailboxes to be removed from the computer as well, and you you were warned that this would happen by an alert similar to this for Mail 2.x (I don’t know what the exact wording is in Mac OS X 10.3):
    Remove Account
    Are you sure you want to remove the <AccountType> account "<AccountName>"?
    This will permanently delete the account setup information, mailboxes, and messages from your computer. Messages stored on the mail server will not be affected.For IMAP-type accounts, this is not a problem because mail is stored on the server. If you deleted a POP account, however, your mail has certainly been wiped out from the computer, not just moved somewhere.
    To prevent that from happening, you should have moved your mail to custom “On My Mac” mailboxes instead of leaving it in the account’s mailboxes. Actually, using the account’s Inbox and Sent mailboxes for archiving purposes is a bad idea regardless — see Overstuffed mailbox is unexpectedly empty.
    If the POP account was configured to leave the messages on the server for some time, setting up the account again would cause any messages still on the server to be downloaded again, just like for IMAP accounts, but this would only work for received mail that has not yet been removed from the server.
    If the messages are not on the server and you don’t have a backup (which you should have made before doing something like that), you may try to salvage as many deleted mbox files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II or FileSalvage (the files to be recovered would be different in the case of Mail 2.x). Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten.

  • Touch panels not under targets and devices

    Hi All,
    I've used the NI touch panel module before with Labview 8.6. I now have Labview 2009 and have installed the touch panel module 2009. When I open a project and go to add targets and devices I have no option to expand touch panels as I did in 8.6. The module appears in Max and in my license manager.
    Any suggestions to what I can try? I have tried reinstalling the module.
    Thanks,
    J

    JChec,
    That is strange! If you go to Help»Find Examples... from within LabVIEW you can open up the Example Finder. In the Browse tab of the example finder there are many folders that populate the center column. Two of those folders are "Toolkits and Modules" and "Toolkits and Modules Not Installed." Which folder does the Touch Panel Module show up in? Are you able to open up and run one of the examples? What Operating System are you using?
