Layer disappears when testing SWF
Hi,
I'm using Adobe Flash CS5, ActionScript 3.0. I've created a simple file with a few animations. When I press enter, the movie animates perfectly on the stage. But when I press Ctrl+Enter to view it in test mode (and when I export to SWF), one of the five layers just doesn't appear. It's as if I never created the layer! What could be causing this issue?
.FLA file: http://www.benjaminyobp.com/a/m4s_splash_2.fla
.SWF file: http://www.benjaminyobp.com/a/m4s_splash_2.swf
Thanks in advance for any help!

Layer disappears when playing from Flash Player
I have a dotted line animation in a layer. It shows up fine
when dropping to IE window but it disappears when playing from
inside Flash Player 7. Maybe it needs a newer version to play it
correctly but it's just a layer with a line in it. The SWF is
created with Flash CS3. Maybe Flash Player 7 comes from Studio 8
that is also on the PC.I just found that it plays fine on Flash Player 9 which comes
with CS3. Some of the features probably are not compatible with
Player 7. -
Layer disappear when using blur gallery
The same thing happens on all three blur gallery effects (field blur, iris blur, tilt shift). Once I pick the filter the layer becomes empty. The strange thing is that when I manipulate any of the controls the object appears, but once I stop holding the mousebutton down on the input. The object disappears again. When i apply the settings (enter or the ok buttoon). The layer is empty. WTF?!?
I have used these filters a lot, this just happend suddenly. And I can't fix it. Restart does not help.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 running on MacBook Pro 2.3 GHz i7, osx 10.8.3.You are probably right about the video card, because a full restart of the computer solved the problem.

Beginning a brand new comp...using solid black layer and camera...apply Trapcode Form to solid layer. It appears. When I try to blow the comp up (just scrolling in with the mouse wheel to make it bigger), it disappears. No setting other than default. Cannot see form layer unless I zoom back out. Just plain annoying, since I can only see it when I am zoomed waaaaaay out (and therefore cannot see what I am editing).
Screenshots, comp settings, settings in Form, computer specs, AE version used. We need a lot more info.

Not all of Flash screen shows when testing swf
Hello. I am creating a Flash animation with the stage settings of 1920px x 1080px. When I test my animation almost an inch around the border of the stage is cut off. It's like the animation has zoomed in. I have tried using different resolutions on my screen, but nothing changes. I have tried to make the stage dimensions smaller, but that's not working either. Can someone tell me how to fix this problem?
I was never able to fix it, the air simulator is hardcoded to use 240dpi and has no options to change it. Therefore even if your screen should be big enough in pixels to show the whole window, it often will still hang off the edge of the screen. I forget where I read that.
In my case, I lucked out and was able to switch to a Mac and use the iOS simulator, which does allow scaling the screen. -
Layer disappears when made into a 3D postcard layer
I have worked with 3D layers in the past without trouble but am having a significant problem. I have a photo with 3 layers. I change the top layer into a 3D postcard and the image disappears but remains in the layer menu. I have attached image below. Why is this happening?

DIV tags disappear when put over swf file background
I am working on a site which has a swf movie as a background
which fills the browser window(SWFobject). When I place DIV tags,
which reference a CSS id and contain swf files as well, over the
top (for absolute positioning, etc.) they disappear when previewed
in a browser . Is there a reason that the swfobject always takes on
top position in the browser? Do I need to change something in the
SWFoject javascript file, in the code or within either the CSS file
or the dreamweaver HTML code? Here is a link to a site that is very
similar to what I am working on.

Any help would be most appreciated. All Active content on a page will always rise to the top, so
to speak,
including Flash, certain form elements, Java applets, and
Active X controls.
This means that each of these will poke through layers. There
is not a good
cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but
if you can be
confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+, then you can
use the Flash
wmode parameter (however, Safari does not support this
properly!).

Stroke/Border Disappears When Viewing on HTML File
Hello -
I am using Flash CS5.5.
I am working on Flash banners and I want to place a 1 pixel stroke/border around each banner.
I did the usual, created a new layer, used the rectangle tool, put in the correct stroke number (1 pixel), matched the size to the banner and aligned it correctly, etc. The stroke is the exact dimensions of the banner/movie and the stroke is on the top layer.
When I Preview/Test the banners within Flash the stroke/border looks fine. However, after I publish and I view the published SWF and also separately on a HTML page, the border/stroke does not show up on the right side and on the bottom.
If I change the stroke to 2 pixels (from 1 pixel), then the right side shows up but the bottom still does not.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks!!!Well I found the answer here: http://furizu.net/blog/2009/08/the-myth-about-flash-border/#more-312
Not sure why it has to be done this way but it works. If anyone else has other solutions I am still interested.
Thanks -
Static NAT entry disappears when using NVI on Cisco 1921 (Multiple versions)
We have a Cisco 1921 as an IPSec tunnel endpoint where we assign static NAT entries. It is a static one-to-one NAT putting each remote endpoint as a local /24 subnet. We are using NVI and we see some of these static entries disappear when packets are unable to reach the destination.
The production router is running 15.0(1r)M16 but we were able to reproduce this same behavior on 15.4(1)T2.
To reproduce, we add the static NVI entry:
ip nat source static X.X.X.X 172.30.250.11
And things look good for a bit:
ROUTER# sh ip nat nvi trans | i 172.30.250.11
gre 172.30.250.11:0 X.X.X>X:0 Y.Y.Y.Y:0 Y.Y.Y.Y:0
--- 172.30.250.11 138.54.32.9 --- ---
tcp Y.Y.Y.Y:60360 Z.Z.Z.Z:60360 172.30.250.11:22 X.X.X.X:22
There is a known issue with GRE traffic being dropped at this particular endpoint, so after generating GRE traffic, the entry completely disappears:
ROUTER# sh run | i 172.30.250.11
ROUTER#
ROUTER# sh ip nat nvi trans | i 172.30.250.11
gre 172.30.250.11:0 X.X.X>X:0 Y.Y.Y.Y:0 Y.Y.Y.Y:0
icmp Y.Y.Y.Y:59916 Z.Z.Z.Z:59916 172.30.250.11:59916 172.30.250.11:59916
tcp Y.Y.Y.Y:60360 Z.Z.Z.Z:60360 172.30.250.11:22 X.X.X.X:22
I can reproduce this by severing the tunnel to any other remote site, and after generating GRE traffic to the downed endpoint, the corresponding static NAT entry will disappear.
Debugging has not shown anything, and I have found some mentions of similar behavior on older versions. Has anyone seen this? We don't have support access to test all versions, so if it is known to be resolved in a particular one, we would love to know to work towards loading that version.
ThanksHi Ryan,
Asa cannot ahve 2 default routes, it can only have one. ASA also doesnt support PBR, so the setup that you are trying to configure would not work on the ASA. Router is the correct option for it.
Hope that helps.

ActiveX controls disappear when VI is loaded in a Sub-Panel with Start Modal Dialog usage
Hi,
I have a subpanel in a VI (VI1) in which another VI (VI2) is loaded. VI1 is used as a module for an Action step in TestStand. VI2 has ActiveX controls like ExpressionEdit and Adobe PDF reader etc. VI1 loads VI2 in a sub-panel and calls Start Modal Dialog.vi. I have set 'Show front panel when called' to true for VI1 so that the VI pops up when the sequence is run. When the sequence runs and when the Start Modal Dialog VI is called from VI1, all ActiveX controls in VI2 (loaded in the sub-panel) disappears. Here is the screenshot of the frontpanel of VI1 when the sequence is run:
This problem occurs in TestStand 4.2.1, TestStand 2010 and TestStand 2010 SP1 (as far as I have tested. May occur in older versions too). In the attached file, VI1 is 'ExprEdit Test.vi' and VI2 is 'SubpanelLoad.vi'. The attached sequence is developed in TestStand 2010 SP1.
How can this issue be solved?
Thank you,
Ganesh Kumar

Subpanel Load ExpressionEdit problem.zip 23 KBHi,
An update on this issue: I tried changing the order of loading the VI in the SubPanel and the start modal dialog. I called start modal dialog and then loaded the VI (VI2) in the SubPanel. When I ran the sequence, the activeX controls did not disappear (I was pretty sure that the ActiveX controls in VI2 would not disappear since I am calling Start Modal Dialog before loading the VI in the Subpanel). Then I just changed the sequence of operations back to the previous order (loading the Subpanel with the VI and then calling the Start Modal Dialog). When I ran the sequence, the activeX controls where still displayed. But when I ran the sequence with the VI1 backup (that I had taken before making all these modifications) the activeX controls were not displayed. I a nutshell, I now have 2 versions whose codes are the same. But when I run the sequence with action steps for these VIs, the activeX controls disappear when the unmodified backup VI runs and does not disappear when the modified VI is run. I have attached the files that I used along with the sequence file. The details are as follows:
ExprEdit Test (Not Working).vi - The unmodified backup VI for which the ActiveX controls disappear.
ExprEdit Test (Working).vi - The modified VIs in which the ActiveX Controls do not disappear (But same code as ExprEdit Test (Not Working).vi).
ExpreEdit Test.seq - The sequence file containing 2 action steps one each for theabove mentioned VIs.
SubpanelLoad.vi - The VI that contains activeX controls and is loaded in the SubPanel.
Note that the sequence is created in TestStand 4.2.1.
Thank you,
Ganesh Kumar

Memory leak when loading .swf in AS3?
Hi all,
I've got a pretty big issue here that I can't understand.
I've got a pretty simple app that just repeatedly loads and then
unloads an .swf called test.swf (this loaded .swf contains nothing
but a document class and a graphic - a circle. The document class
is blank, it just extends Sprite).
When I set this class as the document class of a blank .swf,
I trace the 'totalMemory' of the flash player, and load and unload
the (very simple) clip over and over. You'd think that with garbage
collection and all that, the memory would stay pretty
constant...but no! It increases (and continues to for as long as
I've run it!).
I'm writing an application that loads and unloads many many
.swf files, but it needs to have the smallest footprint
possible...any ideas as to why the memory is never released? One idea - there is a separate stack of memory in the flash
player where loaded classes in separate application domains exist,
and these classes are not being garbage collected....however, there
is a line in adobe's documentation here:
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/main/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=Liv eDocs_Parts&file=00000327.html
under "Usage C" :
quote:
Having a new application domain also allows you to unload all
the class definitions for garbage collection, if you can ensure
that you do not continue to have references to the child SWF.
Given that, as far as I can see from this code, there is no
reference to the loaded .swf maintained....it seems to me like the
loaded data (graphical assets AND classes) should be garbage
collected - but, while you WILL see a slight drop in memory after
the removal of the SWF, the overall memory continues to increase
the more you do it. Could Adobe be mistaken? -
Table number xrefs disappear when roundtripping the XML doc back to FM
I'm using FM 7.2p158 running on Windows XP on a Dell Optiplex GX520 with 1GB RAM. I've converted my legacy FM docs to structured FM, but my (CALS-formatted) table number xrefs disappear when I roundtrip the XML docs back to FM. How can I remedy this?
Initially, I used my own conventions to name the table part elements as I have about 10-15 specific table types and I used those Table Tag names as table elements names (Invisible2, Invisible4, StepTable, ...), so I had 10-15 elements that were true "is fm table element" types in the EDD, DTD, and R/W rules. The table number xrefs worked as they should after roundtripping FM-XML-FM and the tables' shading, ruling, and Table Tags were correct.
I consulted our XSLT developer for proper browser display of the XML files, and he suggested that I should use the CALS table model. I studied the Struct Dev Gd, then I searched this forum for postings on CALS tables and related topics and used suggestions offered by many of you good folks to create an EDD, DTD, and R/W rules to that end.
I've run some tests using many iterations of my files (both CALS and non-CALS types) to roundtrip the FM files, but I cannot get the xrefs of the table number from the CALS-version table title element to display when I roundtrip the XML doc and open it in FM. I get this:
-- In the XML doc text opened in FM, instead of "Table 1-1" for the xref, it leaves a blank space (although the source numbered table title is there).
-- In the Structure View of the same XML doc, I see the following:
- The CROSSREF element text says WHITESPACE.
- Both the CROSSREF element and its source element continue to have the (matching) "Idref" and "Id" number displayed in this view.
- The Idref attribute is disconnected from the CROSSREF element.
- The "table" element is disconnected from its container element (TableAnchor).
Once I apply the File/Import/Element Definitions command in the XML doc in FM, the XML becomes valid and both the CROSSREF Idref attribute and the table element are reconnected, but my xref of the table number is still WHITESPACE.
The XML-converted doc source text reads:
If you're using WebDrive, you will want to use the options shown
in [CROSSREF Idref = "BEHJCAJB" format = "Table Number"/] on the [IndexEntry
type = "Index" text = "WebDrive options"/]WebDrive control panel.[/Para]
[TableAnchor]
[table tabstyle = "Expressroom2" cols = "2"
colwidths = "2.198in 3.500in" colsep = "1" rowsep = "1"
frame = "all"]
[title Id = "BEHJCAJB"][?FM MARKER [Cross-Ref] 86302: TableTitle: Table 1-1

[row rowsep = "1"]
[entry colname = "1"][CellHeading]Field[/CellHeading][/entry]
[entry colname = "2"][CellHeading]Value[/CellHeading][/entry]
[/row]
[/thead]
But when I open the same XML-converted doc back in FM, I get the following:
"If you're using WebDrive, you will want to use the options shown in on the WebDrive control panel."
The CROSSREF Idref "BEHJCAJB" is [WHITESPACE] in the Structure View, so it's a blank space within the actual text in FM.
I have excerpts from my EDD, DTD, and R/W rules that I can post, but would make this even more lengthy. (Sorry about the current length.) What do I need to change to make the xrefs work when I roundtrip the files?

Color changing shades when testing/exporting
Hello! I'm having an issue where a color is showing up different between being on stage when working on it and when tested/exported.
I've attached an image. The left is from when I'm working on it in captivate, and the right image is the tested version.
The slides are set to high quality. Is there another setting that I'm possibly missing?
Thanks!Hi ,
Could you please tell me the version of Captivate you are using (go to Help > About Adobe Captivate ) ?
Have you tried to publish your project , If not then publish it to test the exact behavior ?
Please uncheck the option under Edit > Preferences > SWF size and Quality which says Advanced project compression and Compress SWF file . Then republish and check if it still behaves the same or not .
Thanks
