Layer Selection??? - sounds easy but it's not

Normaly I can select a layer by clicking once on the desired layer however, Photoshop switches into a mode where I have to double click the desired layer and then I have to cancel the 'Layer Style' dialogoue box which pops up - just to select that layer??? This is so anoying and I just want to go back to being able to select the layer with one click. This always happens!

Do you mean just literally selecting what layer you want to be on? A sinle click should do it, if not, reset your preferences. When Photoshop is starting up, hold Crtl + Alt + Shift and click yes to trash preferences.

I want to add a layer to my photo, but I do not want a color layer

So I want to Photoshop my friends face onto a bird body (for a joke) but I am not sure how to add that layer. I do not want a color background layer. In the layers instruction video, the narrator has multiple layers that are photos, why cant I do that? Every time I think I am doing it right, it just creates a new image/document thing that I am not even sure what it is. Help!

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.

6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

Connect the iPad to your Mac
Launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side of the iTunes window under the devices heading
Click on the Photos tab in the iTunes window on the right.
Click on Sync photos from - and select iPhoto from the menu.
Click on the albums, events, faces - whatever you want to select to sync.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.

I am currently using iplanet 4.1 on a solaris box. This is my first time using Iplant so this question my sound trivial but I am not sure how to figure it out.

I am getting the following error when I try to restart the server. Can anyone help?

U did not mention in which version of Solaris u r installing IWS 4.1
Try these steps:
(1)Have u chosen the option to install jdk with IWS setup or u manually added the classpath after installation?
(2)Make sure you have the latest operating system patches installed. You can download them from Sun's web site.
(3)It may also be that the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH isn't set. It should probably be set to "/usr/lib:/usr/ucblib". Make sure it is set correctly, and try the installation again.

Have you attempted to use a computer to go to iCloud.com and change your password? If you are successful at that, then do the following:
Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars, click on the iCloud account, scroll to the very bottom of your screen, delete account. Then go back in and the iCloud account again and put in the new password.

Hey everyone,
I decided to swallow some pride and find some solution to my situation that should be simple. I've looked on many of the threads and still can't seem to find the solution.
I am just trying to set up my Airport Express to my Powermac G5. Very simple... just want to run the ethernet through the Express from another room.
I started by plugging in my Express. That was fine, I got a green light. Then when to Setup Assistant... it cannot find a network. After many attempts, still no network. I tried to reset my Express. No luck. I also configured my Express directly to my Powermac, all settings seemed just fine... except when I try to use it how it is supposed to be used, I get nothing. My G5 is reading my Extreme Card okay. So... what in the world am I doing wrong?
Admittedly, I am no tech whiz when it comes to networking, so naturally, I assumed that this would be a simple and quick installation... that has seemed to last for hours and hours...

I had the same or similar problem when I first hooked up my airport. I took my computer to the Apple store to be sure my airport setup was correct. When they turned on my computer it immediately connected to their network. They had no idea why it wouldn't work at home. I was lucky that a person was standing there that had an idea what was wrong. He said it was possible that there was some interference in my home. So, the apple people suggested that I change from automatic to a specific channel. That was fine, except I asked them how could I do that if the computer didn't recognize the base station? So, we then tried hooking the base station up directly to the computer using an ethernet cable, and it worked (they had never tried this). When I got home I did this and changed the channel to 2 (you have about 10 or so channels you can try). I then put the base station back to the room where my cable is. The computer immediately recognized it. I now have three airport extremes in various rooms and they all work great, as long as I set them to a specific channel. You can try each channel and then check the strength of the signal to determine which is the best for your environment.

why not sort by (name, date, etc) and Click on 1st and Shift-Click on last.
Might work better to copy or import to a project folder.

Hi there, Well, i thing i might have had the same problem (if you dont mean the selecting part, then try keyboad with usb and without if u dont have a macbook pro or so), i did the same and after selecting windows it said "No bootable disk" or " no boot disk" or something like that and the installer wont start when i was trying to install via CD/DVD.
The sulution is to use 2 usb-drives, one for the support drivers from apple and one for the windows it self after burning the CD/DVD to the usb on a PC using the windows own tools and creating a ISO file.
(there might be problems whit CD/DVD install sometimes)
The ISO file on a own USB is the most importat thing!! (and even apple and windows didnt know that but me and a technikal support guy from the store i bought it managed to fix it after like 4 days )

How do I add a contact / recipient to an SMS on iPhone 5s? It's easy on Android, but I've not sussed it on the iPhone - can't create a group etc. Tried to create a group on Mac, but it either doesn't exist or won't sync to the phone with usb, nor will other contact details created on Mac. I'd rather not use the cloud. I'm sure contacts used to sync to my old iPod touch in Snow Leopard.
Is it not more logical to have the phone as the main source of this sort of data? We're more likely to update on a device we carry all the time surely?
