Layer Styles Disappearing from my list

When I first launch Photoshop and load a preset layer style I can get a full list of available presets to load. After clicking on an element and actually using a layer style on it I no longer can get my full list of available presets to load. The list is cut to 1/3 of the original list.
So the full list is available and in the folder but once using a layer style it seems most of the layers styles disappear from the load menu. I have had no problem with this for months and made no changes over the last few days so this is mind boggling.
Is this a known bug? Any suggestions?

Have you deleted anything from your iTunes library ? Have you checked to see if they are still on your computer, but not listed in your iTunes library ?
If not then do they show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage for redownloading ? If they don't show there and others do and they are still in your country's store, then check to see if they are hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If they are no longer in your store for redownloading (or you aren't in a country where music videos can be redownloaded) then you will need to copy them back from your backup of your library/downloads.

Time Capsule disappears from device list when wireless is toggled

When I toggle wireless on and off, either via profile or Airport > Wireless, sometimes my base station disappears from the list of devices in Airport Utility:
Has anyone else seen this? My Time Capsule reappears after I close and reopen Airport Utility.

I may not be understanding what you mean but unless you have the TC connected via ethernet it will disappear when you turn airport off, it would come back up when you turn it on but it may take a few minutes.

I have added more songs to my library. Half of the library has selected ticks but when I click on any of the others to select them the whole song disappears from the list. Why and what can I do to fix?

If I understand correctly, it sounds like iTunes is not grouping the songs from a particular CD together. The cause could be something as minor as a misspelling or slight variations. For more information, see the following resource:

Calibri disappeared from Fonts list

Calibri and the other MS fonts that came out at the same time (Cambria, Constantia, etc) have disappeared from the fonts list in my Formatting toolbar. Strangely, they still appear in the list in the Font dialog (Format > Font).
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix the Fonts list?
I'm running Robohelp 8 on Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit.

Formatting toolbar shows fonts sets present in the RoboHelp project. (Format->Font Sets)
"A font set is a collection of fonts to apply in style sheets or character and paragraph formatting. For example, you can create a font set with Verdana as the first font, and then (in order) Arial® and Sans Serif as substitute fonts. If users do not have Verdana installed, the viewer uses Arial and then Sans Serif."
Whereas the Font (Format->Font) dialog shows combined list of fonts on the system as well as font sets in the project.
Please verify if the font sets in your project has been modified/deleted. (You can do so by creating a new RoboHelp project and verifying if the required font appears in the formatting tool bar fonts dropdown for the new project). If it appears, then close RoboHelp project. Go to new project folder on the disk and copy rhfontset.apj file from new project to your current project. PLEAE NOTE that this will overwrite any existing modifications done in the font sets in your project.
I hope this resolves the issue.

Firefox start page disappeared from bookmark list and now I can't put it back. Whats going on?

HP win 7 machine. Use firefox to open Charter email: no problem. Recently, my gmail acct (which I use infrequently) has appeared as my default , which I do not prefer, but cannot seem to change. While on the Charter email page, today, I tried to access Forefox start from my bookmark menu. It disappeared from the bookmark list. Got to the start page through a different route, but it would not bookmark at all.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).

IPod shuffle disappears from source list

Each time I plug in my Shuffle to my computer, it shows up in the source list with the licensing agreement on the screen. No matter if I agree/save the agreement or cancel it, my Shuffle then disappears from the source list. I can't look at the songs on it or change any of the settings. I do have the latest version of iTunes and have updated the iPod, so I'm fresh out of ideas... Any suggestions?

After connecting the iPod, quit iTunes if it is running.
Then try using the iPod Reset Utility. It is different from Restore in iTunes.

All Layer styles missing from CS5 Photoshop.

This is the fourth time I have gone through this. i open my photoshop to see all my layer styles are gone. Since I have 1000s and most custom made i don't remember all the creations. I have searched all over and the only place that had anything close was a discussion in Elements, but that solution did not work for me. I know I can't be the only person that has gone through this?? Is there anyone that knows how to retrieve all the styles i had just hours ago?

this has happened before when I left my computer on and MS did an auto update that restarted my computer...
This points me to the additional potential for a video driver issue. Simple OS updates and even some hot-fixes, have been known to render the video driver obsolete. That is one reason that nVidia and ATI/AMD issue updates about once per month.
I have Windows set (on all computers) to ONLY notify me of the availability of an update. That way, I manually download and install it/them, and know to keep an eye on the video driver, should an issue arise. I have all nVidia cards, but do not religiously update drivers (there have been some from both nVidia and ATI/AMD, that have been problematic), as so long as my Adobe programs function perfectly, I will wait until something goes awry. I also have all programs set to NOT auto-update, as I have had two auto-updates really mess things up, and once very badly - one was a simple Logitec Set-Point mouse driver update, and it totally killed my computer, requiring a complete rebuild and low-level reformatting of my system HDD. The other was a Java update, that killed a large PSD file, that was Saving, when it started - that one only cost me a redo from an earlier, previous version of the PSD, and the only time that I have had my Preferences corrupted. I had forgotten to turn those auto-updates OFF - my bad.
Let us know more about your display sub-system with make/model and driver info. That would be my "prime suspect" right now.
As for the Elements material, I recall similar in Premiere Elements Styles going missing, but that was many versions ago, and doubt that anything in the solution to that problem would apply to Photoshop, but will go searching for that thread, just in case.

Jobs disappear from job list

i post this thread because there is a new problem with a reports server running in Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.3.0
We configured a reports server like this:

maxIdle (minutes): 30
Cache Size (MB): 30
Timeout (minutes): 15
max Connections: 20
max Queue-size: 1000
trace-option: none
We queued 15 daily executive jobs.
But these jobs disappear after a while. So the queue list is empty!
sometimes after a week and sometimes after a few days this jobs disappear from queue.
May you can help me solving this problem?

Hello, I to have had this problem with a brand new Mac Pro and new install. I did note that, whilst I didn't use the migration assistant I did copy over my preferences from an old system though and may have corrupted something.
My buddies loaded, presumably from AOL system as they appear no matter where i log in from. But a new buddy that i tried to add simply appeared, pulsed for a few seconds and disappeared. I was able to chat with the friend and screen share, audio chat and video chat with them but could only make a connection if I was quick to do so from adding them again to my buddy list.
To resolve the issue I deleted all iChat preference files:
com.apple.iChat.AIM.plist
com.apple.iChat.plist
com.apple.iChat.SubNet.plist
com.apple.iChatAgent.plist
that were stored in my ~/Library/Preferences folder.
I did have to re-sign in to iChat but that is only a user name and password which gets re-stores in my Keychain so no bother.

Hi,
Today I encountered first serious issue with my brand new R830 - after a few sleep/resumes states and movements of laptop, fingerprint device disappeared from available devices list.
Firstly, I was able to see it working properly but I couldn't start fingerprintreader software nor log in to windows but after installing drivers fromt Toshiba website it disappeared completely.
Has anyone seen anything like that?

A brief update - sensor appeared this afternoon but not in fully working condition - it runs and appears in device manager but after a few minuts it turns "yellow" and shows information that this device cannot start (code 10). I saw that it shares generic usb hub with ericsson modem nad usb composite device (webcam) but after I disabled them in BIOS nothing changed. Authentec fingerprint service starts and runs ok - there are also no entries in system logs ... Do you have any ideas what's wrong?
I'm using Win7 PRO EN and Microsoft Security Essentials.

Twitter disappeared from share list

Bit strange, twitter has disappeared from the share options in Safari 8. When i click on the share button, it is no longer listed, and if i click on "more" it is not listed there unticked either. Not really finding alot on the internet about a similar problem.
I am on the latest Yosemite, and Safari.
This is the twitter share that comes with Safari rather than any extension i've download. So, it normally appears in the list with the others like Facebook, Linkedin, Airdrop etc.
any ideas?

1. Empty Caches
    Safari > Preference > Advanced
    Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
    Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
    Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
2. Delete Cookies
    Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
    Click the "Details" button.
    Select and "Remove" Twitter cookies.
    Close the Preference window.
    Restart the computer.

PS4 PS Plus games disappeared from download list

I have not yet been in a position to be able to buy a PS4, but I had been "purchasing" the PS4 games available via my ps plus subscription so that I had a collection of games to play when I am was able to buy the console. My PS Plus subscription recently renewed and now all of the PS4 games I had collected have disappeared from my download list. Given that my subscription covers PS4, PS3 and PS Vita I feel agrieved that part of subscription appears to not being honoured any longer just because I have not yet downloaded them to a PS4. Has anyone else had this experience?

It might be that you need to set the console you want to transfer the save to as "primary". If you look in account management there should be an option to do that in there somewhere. If that doesn't work then I've no idea what the issue could be.

Get layer style settings from the differences between 2 images.

Is it possible to get the layer style settings when I have 1 image with the layer style and 1 without it.
Let's say I have an icon that's just a house.

You won't get the actual numerical settings, but if you load both layers in the same document, and change the blend mode of the top layer to Difference, you can see the difference between the two images. Thus:

I add a buddy on iChat and it blinks a few times before my buddy disappears on my list. The buddy is not blocked, it's not even on there, and if I send a message to this buddy, they can get the message, but my window doesn't recognize that I've sent anything. What do I do?

If you mean you are also displaying Off Line Buddies and they don't appear there either it is most likley that you are adding them with including the First Name, Last Name details and the person is already in the Address Book.
Do the Add Buddy bit again.
Don't add the First Name , Last name info but click the blue arrow head next to the Last Name line.
Pick their card in the Address Book.
I am not sure what you mean by "User Selection"
Could you phrase this another way or tell me what it is you are looking for ?
