Layering Animations in Keynote..Is it possible

I am wondering if it is possible to layer animations. For example, if I have an animation coming in, I can only have the next animation come in at the same time, or after, or delayed after.
Can you have the second animation come in during the first. So if I have a 2.0 second flame in animation, can I have the next animation start .5 seconds into the first animation.
Let me know if possible, or if i need to get some add on software.

You can set animations to start after another animation with a delay, so yes, can produce the effects you want. In the Build Inspector, such timings are accessed via the vaguely-named "More Options" button, which reveals the Build Order pane where such timings are specified.

Layering animations when triggered

I have a series of animations in my edge project where each one when triggered positions over the other animations. Im having an issue where the layering system is not allowing me dictate when an animation is triggered it always sits on the very top layer so it doesn't get obstructed by any other content in the project. Is it possible to add some code that works on the basis of z-index, so when ever an triggered animation is running it always is on the top layer so it doesn't get covered by the other animations when overlapping. Or is it a case of creating completely separate animation files? - please help.

Smart build animations in Keynote 6.5

I have Keynote 6.5 and I'm looking for the smart build animations I saw in several Youtube tutorials. Help!

No such feature in Keynote 6.5, this was an effect available in Keynote 09 for photo images.
Choose from the Builds, Actions and Transitions that are available in the Inspector for image effects.

Why isn't a layered animation visible on top of a movie when you Preview in Browser?

I'm using the latest version of EA CC (2014)
Imported a video
Converted it into a symbol
Added a controller... plays fine on its timeline, or Preview in Browser
Then, I did the following...
Double-clicked the symbol of the video
Created an animation to play on top of it
Everything previews fine on the symbol's timeline
Here's the problem...
When I Preview in Browser, the video plays fine, but the animation that I layered on top, is not visible at all

Almost there…
I added this and understand why… “Callout_01” now appears and plays:

I initially put this in because if you click the animation as it’s playing, it’ll bring you back to Home. Then, if you click “Button_02” again, the video will play from the beginning. If you take it out, it will not play from the beginning. I should have changed the comment to read 100% instead of 10%... my fault. Joe, since you questioned it, I replaced it with a shorter piece of code that accomplishes the same thing (see below).

I added these two after making the above changes. Because if you went back to Home and repeatedly clicked “Button02”, “Callout_01” would not show/play.

Here’s the end of the puzzle, almost there… Previewing in browser, you click “Button02”, “Ani_02” starts to play. However, before “Callout_01” appears (at 55 sec mark), you click the Pause Button on the Controller. After a short pause (let’s say 3 sec), you click the Play Button on the Controller. As the video continues to play, you’ll notice that the Pause Button on the Controller had no effect on “Callout_01” to also stop playing… it will appear prematurely however long the pause was.
Apologize for being so wordy, but it’s the only way I can describe what is/is not happening.

Multiple layered animation effects in HTML 5 not working

I created an animation with 2 effects layered on top of each other so an object would from move from position A to B while a second effect scaled the object to reduce in size at the same time. This was just a matter of setting up the two effects in the same space on the animation time line.
When I output to HTML 5 I only get the motion animation from A to B but not the scale at the same time.
Are there any known issues with HTML 5 supporting layered multiple animation effects in Captivate 6?

You did use an Effect that is not yet supported for HTML5. The only supported effects are these:
Entrance
- Fly-in (all)
- Ease-in (all)
Exit
- Fly-out (all)
- Ease-out (all)
Motion Path
- Left-to-Right
- Left-to-Right Ease
- Pentagon
- Rectangle
- Right-to-left easeRight-to-left3point
- RightToLeft

Turning a layered animation into movie clip

I am a flash newbie so this may be a retarded question. I am
trying to turn a multilayered Flash animation into a movieclip
symbol. I have shapes on different layers that are shape tweened
and many shape hints that go with them. When I go to create a new
symbol and paste my frames the shape hints don't end up in the same
place as the shapes. Is there a way to keep the shapes and hints
together as I copy and paste frames? Is there an easier way to turn
this into a movieclip in the fist place?

No, there is no easier way, only Copy Paste frames.

Can't change the duration of my move animation in Keynote

For some reason, when I change the duration of a move animation in a slide, nothing changes. It always animates at the same speed. Anybody has this problem?
I'm using Keynote 6.1

What specific issues are you having and someone might be able to help you?
Keynote 6.1 is stable and works perfectly well for new presentations, continuing to use Keynote 5 for existing projects is a well accepted workflow.

Layered animation in dps

Animations Missing in Keynote 09

Can someone explain why Apple would remove the FALL animation from Keynote 09.

In the General Preferences, there is an option to "Include obsolete animations in choices". Checking that will have all the old animations (that have ever shipped with Keynote) show up.

Keynote widget - animation limitations?

I am trying to create a fairly complex animation in Keynote for use in iBooks Author, where objects have actions (a lot of Move, some Rotate, among others). I know that there are some things that don't import...but not sure what, and I can't find this specific limitation anywhere.
I am finding that when I import my Keynote into the iBooks Author, not all the elements of my animation come with it. Specifically, it turns my Move on a Curve animation into a straight animation. Does anyone know if this is a hard and fast limitation of iBooks Author widgets? I'm trying to animate a hurricane icon, specificially, and hurricanes do NOT run in a straight line!! So it'd make my animation pretty lame, to have my rotating moving hurricane approach the coastline in a straight line, instead of like a real path of a hurricane...
Any way to fix this? Or am I totally screwed and just have to live with straight Move animations on my objects?

I'd already read that, but I couldn't tell if what I was doing was on that list or not. Specifically:

Drop
Move In or Move Out
Pivot
Scale
Twirl
Nothing on that list says, Action -> Move, or Action -> Rotate, but Rotate and Move are working in my imported Keynote file...just not the Curve part of the Move action I created.
The way I figure it, I'll have to do a bunch of smaller, straight moves and that'll work OK...not great, but OK. But I wish there was a WAY more comprehensive list of what works and what doesn't, that page does NOT list everything that works, it appears to me.

Using animated Keynote graphs and charts in FCE

Hello all-- Question that I've not really seen answered. I'm trying to create an animated bar chart, which looks great in Keynote. I've given it a green background so I can chromakey it out, and saved the animation as a QuickTime movie, with compression set to "None." (It's also at 25 fps and in the PAL dimensions.)
However, when I import it into FCE, and chromakey it, it looks horrible with lots of green around the edges, no matter how I fiddle with the settings.
Can someone suggest a better method to doing this? I can't afford $500 for the Data Animation plugin from Digital Anarchy (and this is kind of a one-off anyway), but this looks really unprofessional.
Any suggestions?

Try this: if you can present the animation in Keynote then use a screen-recording/screencast app like iShowU to record the Keynote animation as a mov file. Then import that into FCE. I have been doing that with iMovie & plan to upgrade to FCE once I confirm there are no major issues between Leopard and FCE. I hope this helps!

Not all of the animations and features in Keynote will transition into Powerpoint. Most of the basic ones do - but not the advanced. I had this issue when I first switched over to Mac, so to overcome this, I do two things:
I figured out which animations and transitions work in both Keynote and Powerpoint and used them. It's kind of a pain when I can't use the awesome Keynote animations, however, Keynote is still much easier and intuitive to work in than Powerpoint.
I sometimes export my Keynote presentations to a Quicktime movie (.mov). Apple makes it very simple to export to this format; which can then be accessed on both a Mac and PC and all of the transitions and effects remain as they are in Keynote.

Iweb and keynote animation

I am trying to animate some simple block shapes on an iweb site. Moving position and opacity. I understand that this can be done in Keynote and in theory exported to iweb. But it just isn't working. Firstly I export the page behind the animated object too, and secondly no animation happens in iweb. Also...does it have to be exported to an iweb 'blog' or 'podcast' page? I really just wanted a slightly fancy banner header on a welcome page.
Can anyone please give me simple instructions? I've seen 'gifs' mentioned in forum discussions but don't understand how to create them either.

Keynote 5.05 in Lion with 5.1 animations

So, If You did the same and want to add 02 new text animations/effects - Anvil and Fall Apart in Keynote 5.0.5, Please follow the steps (by Yvan KOENIG):
Reveal the folder Animations in the package Keynote 5.0.5

Rename it as Animations_backup
Reveal the folder Animations from Keynote 5.1

My Safari also failed to load after installing Lion. My previous Safari was version 5.1 and was in the applications folder. I was also previously running OS 10.6.8. I am running a Mac Mini with a 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo processor. Software Update failed to find an updated version to download.
What worked for me was to select "Get Info" for the Safari application from the Finder. I unchecked the box to "Open in 32-bit mode". Safari works perfectly after doing this.
I have no idea why this worked, though. Perhaps other more knowledgeable users can make suggestions.
