LAYERS PRINTING WITH Internet Explorer

Hi. I made a webpage in Dreamweaver 8.
I have 2 tables on top of each other so I wanted to make a
layer behind them 2, so I can have a graphic in the background.
This graphic does not print well from IE. It overlaps the tables
when I try to scale the page down or fit to page in the print
settings. If I do not scale anything, it isn't where it should be,
the image is pushed over more.
It looks fine in the preview mode.
Anyone know what I am talking about? Anyway can I stop that
layer from moving around? Please help. New to this.

> Anyone know what I am talking about?
Nope - sorry. Explanations are never so informative - code is
MUCH better.
Can you show us?
> Anyway I can stop that layer from moving around?
Layers don't move. But tables do. No doubt this is what you
are seeing.

  • Printing with Internet Explorer

    I have a jsp generated page which is displayed in a browser which I want to print on a generic text printer. The jsp page is all code (friendly ghost language) and I want the window to print the contents of the window exactly. I am using the window.print() javascript command. This used to work with internet explorer 4 but now it does not (ie 5 an 5.5). If I copy the exact contents of the window from my browser to notepad and print it works fine. This suggests that ie is sending unwanted formatting details with it. Any ideas how to stop ie from sending the formatting information.
    Cheers

    Cause IE5.5 uses a method called printer.printPage() instead of print();
    function Print()
         numCopies = printer.copies;
         // Print first side
         printer.startDoc("Brochure Machine, page 1");
         for (i = 0; i < numCopies; i++)
              printer.printPage(frontside);
         printer.stopDoc();
         alert("Front Side Printing. When complete, take pages out of printer, flip, reinsert into printer, and press OK");
         // Print second side
         printer.startDoc("Brochure Machine, page 2");
         for (i = 0; i < numCopies; i++)
              printer.printPage(backside);
         printer.stopDoc();
    Who knows what IE6 will bring... when is there going to be some consistancy in the browsers?

  • Laserjet 1020. Cannot print with Internet Explorer 9

    I have downloaded the latest Microsoft Internet Explorer 9  and now find that I cannot print emails with my HP Laserjet 1020. Previously when using IE8 printing was OK. I use Windows Live Mail and Windows Vista as my OS. I also have an Epson printer that works OK with IE9 and Live Mail but the HP does not. I would like to keep IE9 if possible

    Hi ATOL,
    It sounds like you might be selecting properties instead of  "printer properties".
     Double check and make sure that  you're selecting "printer properties" from the list.

  • Programmatically Set Page Setup when printing with Internet Explorer?

    Hello,
    I'm using the LabVIEW 7.1 Print HTML Report VIs.
    However, I'd like to change the default margings and footer and headres of Microsoft internet explorer which is used to do the actual printing.
    I tried to find a way using the functionality of IWebBrowser2 (Wich is actaully used by the original VIs). It seems I have to use OLECMDID_GETPRINTTEMPLATE and pass a structure of the type ITemplatePrinter.
    How can this be done - or is there a more simple way to do this?
    Thanx,
    Rainer

    I'm looking for the same features.  Ideally you would be able to send the page setup parameters to IE programatically but so far I've had no luck doing that or finding any reference on how it would be done.  The closest thing I've seen is the print templates, but I am still unsure how those would be implemented exactly.  I did find this reference for the template which seems fairly descriptive:

  • Why can't I print "printable" email messages with Firefox, that I can print with Internet Explorer?

    My ISP is Optimum Online, which is where I receive email. My operating system is Windows 2000 Professional Ed. My printer is Brother HL 1440.

    It is possible that you accidentally clicked the 'Block Images' item in the right click context menu while trying to save an image.
    Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
    A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (''Site Identification'' icon) on the left side of the location bar and click the "More Information" button.
    This will open the Security tab of the ''Page Info'' window (also accessible via Tools > Page Info).
    Go to the ''Media'' tab of that Page Info window.
    Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow.
    If an image is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box ''Block Images from...'' then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • Cannot print due to error message--printer working with Internet Explorer--How do I correct?

    Last week printer worked fine with Firefox.
    This week a message comes back "an error occurred while printing".
    Printer works fine with Internet Explorer.

    To test how Firefox runs "uncustomized" on your system, could you do a two-minute experiment?
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
    A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
    Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
    Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
    You'll click the Create Profile button. I recommend using the default location suggested (i.e., just ignore the option to choose a different folder). Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
    Can you print?
    When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • Printing problem in 2 programs started 2 days ago, only firefox ,works fine with Internet Explorer?

    Banking web site has a "Print - Friendly View", text on the upper right side of the page which prints out the account information in a different format if you click on the text. All other print functions work ok. The problem is not their when using Internet Explorer. The other program is at Aflacs Web site, and the problem is very similar. When I click on the text that says "Print copy of Invoice" nothing happens, just like the bank text. They both work perfect with Internet Explorer. The problem started about 2 days ago. When it works right, a window will open up and show you what it is going to print and you click on the "print" text, and it prints. Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You

    100% or Shrink to Fit is usually best.

    FOUND A WORKING SOLUTION TO INTERNET EXPLORER 11's COM Surrogate Error
    Problem: My Windows 7 x86 (32bit) Virtual Instance on Parallels was having issues with launching Internet Explorer 11, either after an upgrade from 10 or when I had accidentally uninstalled then reinstalled my Parallels Display Adapter from the Device Manager.
    And since one of my work websites rely and are only compatible with Internet Explorer, this was driving me NUTS. Every time I would launch Internet Explorer, I would get bombarded with a series of COM Surrogate errors that would never stop until I had end
    tasked everything via Task Manager and/or restarted the virtual machine.
    Diagnosis: After attempting all the available solutions on the internet..: Updating Windows 7/8 Codecs, Adding Data Execution Prevention (DEP) entries for both COM Surrogate and Windows Host Process for my x86 Windows 7, and attempting to find a way to downgrade
    Internet Explorer 11 (nearly impossible).
    HERE IS THE SOLUTION that worked for me:
    1. Hit Windows + R (Run) and launch "inetcpl.cpl" (Internet Explorer Settings)
    2. Go to the Advanced Tab, and Click "Reset..."
    3. Check "Delete Personal Settings" and click Reset
    Enjoy :)

    Hi efacg,
    Most printing issues are solved by resetting the Printing preferences. When you print from Firefox and you click on the down arrow, do you see Defualt and Firefox? Please make changes to the preferences here and preview the document.
