Layout of hyperlinks

I get many problems with the layout of the published site in comparison with the iWeb version. Letter types change, hyperlinks have the typical blue underlined layout instead of the one I have chosen, etc. etc.
I was under the impression that iWeb publishes exactly as it was designed in iWeb ... or was I naive in believing this ...

You could publish it to a temporary folder on your server and provide the unique URL pointing to the site in that folder. That would not interfere with the current site. Otherwise it's difficult for us to look at the file involved in the site so as to suggest a fix. Often text problems are related to size of text box, proximity to other objects, etc.

  • Fixed layout ePub - hyperlinks not working?

A question: I am making a fixed layout ePub for Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. The file contains lots of text and some graphics and links to a website. However, when I export the fixed layout ePub, all the hyperlinks die. I read from many forums that this is very common and couldn't yet find a way around it.
Is there a way to have a fixed layout ePub WITH working hyperlinks, or this combination not possible with Indesign CC?

They should be working if you've updated InDesign CC 2014 to the latest update (October release):

  • Pdf to ppt converter

Hey guys........ anyone knows how to convert Pdf to powerpoint files convert........... i would like to buy any genuine converter for pdf to ppt.
    thanks
    sam

I think you can try *pdf to ppt converter*
you can convert PDF to PowerPoint through using it. It preserves the original text content, images, layouts and hyperlinks after conversion. And you can edit the content in PowerPoint after conversion.
Just give that a try and hope it helps:)

  • Hyperlinks in Page Layout -- Workaround of Sorts

As things currently stand with Pages in Page Layout view I cannot create bookmarks within a document and thus hyperlinks elsewhere in that document to other pages in the same document. I've requested that this capability be added to Pages. Why it is missing just boggles me. Am I the only one that has a need for such a feature?
As a workaround, after exporting the document to a PDF, I can use Preview to create the wanted bookmarks and the links within the same document to those bookmarks. The huge drawback to this approach is that if for any reason I need to make a change in the Pages document all of the bookmarks and hyperlinks created with Preview are lost and have to be rebuilt from scratch.
I'm curious as to whether there is perhaps another way to create the hyperlinks in a manner where they won't be lost if the Pages document needs revision.

I've been producing a monthly newsletter in InDesign for a number of years. This month I decided to create the newsletter in Pages instead of InDesign. The three features of importance in InDesign that were not present in Pages page layout mode (which is, of the two modes in Pages, that which is closest to InDesign) were automatic creation of table of contents, and both textual and graphical hyperlinks.
The lack of the automatic table of contents creation is easily worked around, albeit that the automatic creation would be a benefit.
The lack of the hyperlinks is, to me, a major shortcoming. The workaround I've used, using Preview to create the links, has the problem that if one needs to revise the content of the document one loses all of the hyperlinks created in Preview and has to create them all over again.
So hopefully in a forthcoming upgrade we might see this deficiency addressed.

  • My Adobe XI software no longer converts Word to PDF files with hyperlinks or page layout preserved.

Is anyone else having the same problem where the initial installation worked fine and over time, you are no longer able to adjust the setting in the 'convert to PDF' menu for Word documents?  I am now faced with Word documents that lose their hyperlinks on conversion and when there are changes in page orientation (e.g., portrait to landscape and back again), the software creates sub files for each kind of page layout.  In a word, the software has become useless.  What can I do to fix this?

In order to preserve links on Mac Word to PDF. You need to do as follows (note this only preserves links created by Word's auto Correct. Not by Word's URL Creator.)
    Method #1
Create Document save as .docx as backup.
Go to File Menu > Print
Click and hold the PDF button, a Context menu appears.
Choose Adobe Quality PDF, or Adobe PDF (depends upon Version of Mac OS X)
First Choose quality (similar to Job Options in Distiller) and whether to open using Acrobat Or Reader.
Next a Title will appear. (in format "microsoft.nameoffle.docx.pdf").
You can leave file name as is or remove the Microsoft and the .docx from the Name
    Save File.
This method also will print pdf, even if it has section and Page breaks except when there is orientation change from Portrait, or landscape.
    Method #2
    Do step 1 above.
    Locate the file Created.
Drag the file either on top the actual Application or its Icon in the Dock.
    Wait ......
    When Acrobat opens Immediately save.
Again all links created with Auto-correct will be live.
And pages will be intact in the PDF except when there is a Change in orientation.
Auto correct will create links/URL's  when you type such the will automatically turn blue and become underlined. And clicking on the in the word Document  will go to the link.
What does not work until Adobe fixes a 10-15 year old bug is where you select word then go to Insert menu> URL. A window opens and you choose the link or email, in the URL Creator.
Also the Bug where changes in section, and pages breaks cause new PDF that have to be put together has not been completely cured. (Still splits when orientation changes.) Has been proved by Microsoft to be a Bug Adobe can't or won't fix. You simply take a Mac Word File open it in the PC version and create a PDF. And works perfect.

  • Hyperlinks won't work when copied from h to v layout

hi there, just created a dps folio with lots of hyperlinks (InDesign CS6 everything updated to the latest version).
First in the h version I put a rectangle above the piece of content I wish to be clickable, choose 'hyperlinks' and put the link in it then inside the folio overlays I make sure 'open in folio' is selected. Second I copied the rectangle to the v version of the layout, resize it so it's covering the right content. Inside the hyperlinks panel I'll find the links, sometimes when the rectangle is selected the link shows up darkened, but most of the time when I select the copied rectangle nothing changes inside the hyperlinks-links panel. In that case I selected the rectangle and clicked again on the hyperlink so I think it's 'bind' again.
Testing the folio on the iPad everything works fine in the horizontal version, but when i try the vertical pages not 1 link is working.
When re-ensure the hyperlinks are present in the v version, I noticed that clicking on the rectangles some of them do not highlight any hyperlink but others do and none of both work on the iPad. Strange is also when I click a rectangle who does not highlight any hyperlink and I then select (apply??) the hyperlink inside the hyperlinks panel to 'bind' both together the document would not let me save the document as if there's nothing changed on it..
Is this a bug or what am I doing wrong?
any hints and tips welcome ;-)
I've just deleted the hyperlinks overlays and tried with buttons overlay and 'go to url'. That seems to works on both direction.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.
I do not manage the group policy and I'll have it checked. One question though, if it is the policy then would it not affect Excel 2003 as well. When I use Excel 2003, I see buttons in toolbar, using which I convert excel file to pdf and first thing it does is scans for various things ( Hyperlinks is one of them ).
When I tried with excel 2007,  I can convert excel file to PDF by selecting print option and selecting Adobe there. It converts the file but the hyper links won't work.
One thing I noticed that using the pdf conversion buttons in toolbar in excel will convert hyperlinks too.
My problem here is that I do not see Adobe Acrobat converstion buttons in Excel 2007.

  • Hyperlinks in alternate layout folios

got a vertical layout and an alternate horizontal layout for my ipad folio in the same document. created the internal navigation (eg click shape to return to front cover) on the vertical layout first, works fine. Created horizontal layout and adapted internal navigation on those pages to apply to their horizontal equivalents. none of those links work correctly - they all seem to direct to the last horizontal page. when i open up the link properties everything looks as it should. i've also tried deleting the horizontal links and putting them in from scratch, and had the same problem. any suggestions?

  • Hyperlink Problem when Creating Fixed Layout ePub

Hi guys, not sure if anyone can help...
I've created a fixed layout ePub from a print document and everything works perfectly apart from I can't get hyperlinks to work.
Originally I'd set up the hyperlinks on my text which didn't work. After a bit of digging around I found some documentation stating that text hyperlinks don't work and that they need to be fired from an image. Also, internal links (to other pages) don't work, only links to external URLs - fortunately for me - all my required links are to external URLs, however, they still don't appear to work... does anybody have any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong?
I'm testing with Redium on Windows 7 and iBooks on iPad Air
    Thanks in Advance
    Kindest regards
    Poll

    Hi Poll,
The hyperlinks are set on what kind of objects? If the external hyperlinks are applied on a text frame or a rectangle, it won't work. There are two cases that work:
    1. Hyperlink on images
    2. Hyperlink on objects in a group and the group is set to rasterise from Object Export Options dialog.
What is your case which is not working? Please elaborate.

  • Setting hyperlink in paper layout

Let's say you have three long text data items in your group. A formula item is created to concatenate all of them. There is only one field on the paper layout to source this formula column. If you want to set a hyperlink to the middle text item, how can you do it. You cannot set a hyperlink to the data item itself in the Data Model and cannot set a hyperlink to the formula item. You can set hyperlink to the field level but don't want to set it to the whole field. Remember, I want that one to be set only to the middle item. I can break up the field into three separate fields but doesn't look feasible as they have to be seen continuos.
    Any tips appreciated.

You can do this for HTML output but you need to take control of things yourself.
You need to set the "contains html" property against the field and then change your formula column to insert the desired ... tags. You will probably also need to set the font type/size & color attributes.
Ideally, at some point, reports would support some sort of meta-data markup or allow you to have three fields and then concatenate them using &<f_1>&<f_2>&<f_3> in boilerplate but until they do...

  • Creating a hyperlink on an image ruins my whole layout!?

    Hi guys,
I have been using Dreamweaver at High School for a while, but
now am using it at university and it is version CS3.
I am not expert at websites, and am used to creating a site
in fireworks or photoshop (now), then slicing and importing into
dreamweaver. I have done this with my latest site but I am having
some wierd problems that I have never had before.
Here is how my page looks without my image (enter button)
inked to my main page (main.html)
    <a href="
    http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh129/marceta/?action=view&current=site_before.jpg"
    target="_blank"><img src="
    http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh129/marceta/site_before.jpg"
    border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Ok now when I link it (I have tried by dragging the
crosshairs next ot the box, and the manual method of typing it in),
this happens and the whole page looks screwed up.
    <a href="
    http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh129/marceta/?action=view&current=site_after.jpg"
    target="_blank"><img src="
    http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh129/marceta/site_after.jpg"
    border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
This is really annoying as it happens in every page no matter
what I link. How do I fix it? It is almost as if the a href tag
increases the size of the image, or adds an invisible border that I
can not get rid of. I am sure that anyone with half a brain on
web-dev will easily be able to tell me the setting to fix this. I
dont not want to resort to using image maps.
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Peter Marceta
\EDIT: sorry about the images...I tried bbcode tags [IMG] but
then realized they wouldnt work, but I couldnt get the HTML to work
either. Just clike the links and it should work.

Such a generic rule could well destroy a page's layout.
    Getting rid of
borders around image links should be done with a scalpel, not
    a machete....

  • Creating a hyperlink on a layout in photoshop cs6?

I have done an advertising piece that will be emailed to a client list in Photoshop, just because I am comfortable with it, and I was wondering if there is a way to create a link to a website in Photoshop versus having to go to another software just for that text line to become a link??? Or, if not, what is a simple way to accomplish that. Thanks.

Literally you can't eMail anything "in Photoshop", but I think I understand you to say you've created ad copy in a way that presents it nicely using Photoshop, and you plan to mail this to prospective clients.
Unfortunately, Photoshop itself isn't really going to facilitate your making the image into a mail message.  It's really only about the image.
But it doesn't seem like it would be particularly hard to do using your eMail editor...  For example, in Outlook, using Word as the eMail editor, I can include an image via Insert Picture from File then click it and choose Insert Hyperlink.

  • How can a local Hyperlink be integrated into a Fixed Layout ePub

How can I hyperlink within a book file a table of content (NOT the navigational from the iBook App)  and the index references.
    See screenshots.

Yes, I had it all checked. I wonder why the CC does not show the Adobe Indesign CC 2014.1 as with Muse and Dreamweaver. It just shows Adobe Indesign CC 2014. How can I make sure the newer Version is really downloaded?

  • How to load a page or page layout  when click on hyperlink using jsf

    Hi,
I created a hyperlink using a4j:commandlink, when i click on this link, i have to load a page. How to include the page using, <ui:include>, when i click on the hyperlink.
Please help me in this issue

Enclose your <ui:include> component in a <h:panelGrid> or a <f:subView> as said above, and use rendered attribute that is set to false.
When you click on the link, set the rendered attribute of panelGrid or subView to true. Now use reRendered attribute of a4j:commandLink to rerender the panelGrid or subView.
