Layout page and sitestudio
When i try to create a new primary or secondary page in sitestudio, i cannot see any layout page in the dropdown menu if they were created on another machine. Is there anyway to make layout file available when we connect to the site even if the person is on another computer.

I think this is by design, each installation of site studio will remember the layout files selected or created in the drop down, you will need to browse the server for the file and select an exisitnig template, once this is done it will be in the dropdown for future selections.

Issues with layout pages and templates.
So to save time I have started creating my own templates. For instance I want one with mostly black pages so I have created new 'pages' under the 'layout' bar (the one you have to pull down). this works fine for simple pages of 1/2/3 columns and blank pages but I have started making more complex ones - for example I want to have a text box with text already in a certain font and colour which I can then change from page to page, So I created a text box in a layout page, bt when I use this layout on a page the text box i created cannot be modified in anyway (only the filler text in the linked text boxes seems to be modifiable. I also tried to make a 'layout page' with a gallery, a placeholder with all the attributes I want in it, again when I select that page as an option the gallery cannot be changed, making it pretty useless - is there anyway to enable images/galleries/text boxes as 'placeholders'?
I think any element can serve as a 'placeholder', at least in general terms.
When working with such items, be sure to always acknowledge how/if they're linked/locked/anchored/layered/grouped and if those are in done in conjunction with other items.

The problem i'm having, under the pages i'm seeing four of the layout files from my Web Apps that were created. They weren't there the other day and can't workout how to make them go away again, don't really want the client to see the layout pages or to accidentally delete them.
Also how to i edit the print view? the client would like me to style the print view but not having much luck with the old way <link href="../../stylesheets/print.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="print.css"/>Print view is gone in BC now since you would set that up with media queries in your CSS etc. Its not needed.
In terms of those folders I think I mentioned to you in another thread - You need to contact BC support. You have somehow made a simialr folder name and caused BC to open view the folders and have web apps in that folder. BC will need to take a look at that and sort it our for you. -
How to remove Layout page when submitting reports in self service?
Hi, when submitting a report or request thru self service, there are 7 steps or pages to go thru. We would like to hide some of these pages and we learned that this could be done thru the Web HTML Call tab when creating the function for the report (System Administrator->Application->Function). For example if you want to hide the Schedule page, just add &scheduleRegion=Hide in the Web HTML Call. We wanted to hide the Layout page and we added layoutRegion=Hide but it's still not hiding it. The other pages we could hide but for some reason the layout page won't. Anybody knows how to do this? Did we get the correct region name for the Layout page (i.e layoutRegion)?

RonaldoJus convert your report in Page Layout mode and see if your first pafe is getting expand in the second page.
Now check if there are any cell going into second page.
- if there are any blank cell which is there after table.

My document is currently 10 pages. There are 5 different sizes of the pages. They all have the same master page applied to them. When I go to insert a new page and/or duplicate a page...it screws up where the master layout goes. Surely there is simple way to do this??
For example:
These pages are all inserts for a sales folder.
Pages 7 and 8 are sized at 8.5" w X 10.25" h. Pages 9 and 10 are sized at 8.5" w X 11" h.
I need to duplicate page 8 and have it go between 8 and 9 and it needs to be sized like pages 7 and 8 (or 8.5" w X 10.25" h)
When I go to to do this, it screws up the master page layout for the remaining pages of the document.
I have tried several ways to do this. Can anyone help??

I am working in Pages on a report and trying to have the same footer on each page. I went to View/Layout, followed instructions, but the footer text only appears on the first page and not any subsequent pages? What should I do differently please? Thank you., Elisabeth

Sounds like you are using a Layout template. These you have to manually link from textbox to textbox.
Try using a Word Processing template, it lists them in the sidebar of the Template Chooser.

Two Pages and Layout from One Data Source
Hi
I need to find a solution where i can based on if a flag in the data is true or not generate a 2nd page which is slightly different in layout to the 1st page.
But at this moment in time i'm struggling to understand how i can even get crystal to generate a 2nd page.
Background is that our system generates a delivery note with a price on it and as a part of new legislation now there has to be a 2nd page provided for the end user. Now we have a data source linked to the report and we would just like to pass in another field which is true/false to print End User Page.
So if the flag is true i need to create a Delivery page and a end user page and if false then only the Delivery page would be generated.
I just need some guidance as to how we may achieve this. Iu2019m ok with crystal but not really done advanced level reports hence why iu2019m probably stuck.

Working with master pages and page layout, what I have been doing wrong
I have worked on customizing the page layout and the master pages for a couple of site collections.
But now I read two restrictions which I was not following 100%:-
I should avoid directly modifying any default templates, and instead of that I should take a copy and modify the copy. So that any future updates will not override my modifications.
Also I should avoid directly modifying the .aspx files, and instead of that I should edit the html file which will automatically reflect on the .aspx files.
So currently I have these cases inside my SharePoint sites:-
Inside my enterprise wiki site collection, I have being modifying the Enterprisewiki.aspx page layout, for example I added new columns such as Page title and I remove the page rating, also the chnaged the color and format for the page fields.
Inside my team site I took a copy of the seatle.master master page (I name it seatle_copy.master)and I apply my modification to the seatle_copy.master directly and not inside the .html file. Even I do not have a html version for the modified seatle_copy.master?
So can anyone advice how I can fix these two issues. For the first issue how I can make sure that my modifications to the EnterPriseWiki.aspx page layout will not get override during any future update.
also how I can generate an html version for my current seatle_copy.master file so that I can modify the seatle_copy.html instead of the seatle_copy.master in the future?

1. I would definitely make a copy of the EnterpriseWiki.aspx page layout and make changes to that. You can then set your pages to use your custom page layout. Typically, I provision these via Visual Studio and a module for uploading them to the SharePoint
master page gallery.
2. For the master page, the html version is new to 2013 and is meant to simplify branding, however, it's not required. You can still work within master pages and provision those via features if you'd like. The key is to create your own master page and never
modify the default.
If you need code samples for any of the above, let me know and I can supply it.

Different display page layout in Display Layout mode and in Preview mode

can anybody help me to understand why it is different display page layout in
Display Layout mode:
I have 2 collumns
and in Preview mode:
I have only one column
is there some option that I didn"t check in layout page properties?The only thing you can try, is to have a defined number of lines, where the last line only consists of a few words. That may(!) give enough room for different browser rendering. But there is definitely no guarantee.
You may as well force the text frame to be converted to an image (Place one single character – point, space – out of a system font. This will force Muse to convert the text into an image – thus preventing txt reflow) -

in the documentation for the "doc properties" and "layout" section I only find the following strings:
SinglePage
OneColumn
TwoColumnLeft
TwoColumnRight
TwoPageLeft
TwoPageRight
I set it for the active document with the following command in my JavaScript:
this.layout = "TwoPageLeft";
But what is the right entry/string, if I want the "two pages view" with an "single page"-cover sheet?
That means, I need a command/string for my document where only the first page is in the middle and alone and the other pages (starts at the second page) must be two next two each other.

Urgent help needed!! Layout table and Draw layout cell dissapeared.
I need some urgent help. I'm using CS3 but for a while my
Layout Table and Draw Layout Cell icons appear greyed and can't use
them at all. Is there any kind soul out there who knows how to fix

How do I get my Fluid Grid Layout page to resizes from portrait to landscape for iPhones?
Starting in portrait on my iPhone 4, the fluid grid layout page does not resize when I turn to landscape. After I refresh / resize to fit the page on landscape and then turn the iPhone to portrait, the page resizes just fine. Everything seems to be working just fine on the desktop, ignoring IE. Could it be my media query tags?
If anyone knows a solution, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have a book I want to sell as an EPUB when done...only one problem I got the message when doing so: " floating objects aren't supported in ePub format" So I found out by checking inline format that will work but it moves the text box and photo to where it want to go and not where I want it to be...this will not work so how do I make it stay where I place it and still save without the error of floating object issues.... In addition, when I let it go where it wants to go it lets me stay as an ePub and takes me to iTunes producer ( I have my books on iTunes made with iBooks Author) and is this right...I want to make it ready as an ePub not for Apple but for other eBook readers... I copied text & paisted it and then draged the 3 photos from the file...then clicked on the photo then clicked the inline boxon tool bar nexed to floating one and that is how I did it
I do not know what you mean "cut & paist" how do I get the photo in from my picter folder if I do not drag it to the page in Pages?
I went to my photo folder and copied a photo and paisted the photo on the top left part of the page and it went there but there was no text to the right of photo...I could crop the photo to what ever size but no text to the right of photo...
This is just too big of a mess of a program as it should be easier then this,,,I hav e 300 photos in this project and would have to re-paist them all...that is nuts...
I see the button to the right of inline and floating that has 6 [lace to have the photo but the text does not float around the photo...
If this is what your talking about this very little freedom in my page layout as I need it to let me place it where I need it to be and the wrap the text...
There has to be an easier way to get my books ready for other formats other that Apple's iPad...iBooks Author was way eisier to make ready for iTunes...Love that program!!!
Want my books for sale on all the other formats and was told by Apple Pages whould do it...
I must be be out to lunch or the designers at Apple are ???
