Layout preview service

When I click on Show Layout Preview, it gives out the Service cannot be reached error message. What service in SICF needs to be activated for this?

I think you need to activate /default_host/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/viewdesigner node in SICF for layout preview.

Web Dynpro-layout preview-Error-IE cannot display-service in SICF activated

Hello,
By starting a view in web dynpro framework, i have the error in tab layout "page cannot be displayed" from IE.
Before i make the change in the DNS and system32/../etc, the layout was displayed, but the web dynpro application cannot be started.
Now after those configurations and activation of services in SICF, i can start the web application only with firefox and not internet exploer, and, that internet explorer is preconfigured for the layout preview, i recieve all times the eror "cannot display" when i start a view in the layout tab.
1. How can i change settings so that view can be displayed in layout after i actived the (hope the suitables i.e. view designer) services in SICF - Default_host...
2. Is it possible to change IE to firefox as main browser for layout tab.
Note: For virtual domain i
1. add dns "domain.com" in the DNS
2. add in system32/etc/host file to "127.0.0.1 localhost", "10.10.0.10 sysserv.domain.com"
3. and trough tr. rz10 in the instance profil input the icm/.... ....domain.com
Through this three steps i could get the web dynpro application started,
but from the other side, the layout preview do not display the view again
and just send error the message: "THIS PROGRAM CANNOT DISPLAY THE WEBPAGE"

No Layout Preview

Hi Gurus,
I have a problem with my Webdynpro ABAP workbench. I am not getting the Layout Preview for a View.
Let me know what settings need to be checked to rectify this.

Crystal layout previews fine in Crystal, but not in SAP.

I've built a simple report in Crystal based upon the Goods Receipt Header and Goods Receipt Rows Table.
I've included the DocKey@ paremeter
I've set the correct select record: {OPDN.DocEntry} = {?DocKey@}
When I preview the report in Crystal, Crystal asks me to define a DocKey. I select 12 (because I know this has good data in SAP. My report works fine (see below).
However, I've having difficulty generating the report from SAP. When I preview the report in SAP, it imports the correct DocKey into the layout via the DocKey@ parameter, but, it doesn't actually select any data (see below).
I've checked the obvious things like ensuring SAP is generating the correct layout.
Any ideas?

Mobile/Phone Layout Preview Issue

Hi all,
I've just made my first attempt at a basic layout on a master page for the mobile version of a site I'm working on, but when I go to Preview mode things just aren't displaying properly...
I have a tiled background image, a header with a logo and an image where my menu button will likely go, and in the footer I have social media icons and a copyright notice (though this will likely change). The page is blank but has rounded corners and a gradient fill. That's it so far. Sounds simple, right? Everything's centrally aligned and all lined up to what SHOULD be the left and right hand sides of the browser window, yet when I go to Preview mode, EVERYTHING seems to shift to the left for some reason? And I assume that since I can't see the footer content in Preview mode, that the user would have to scroll to see this? Which, in itself is odd since I haven't stretched the standard page height...?

Can anyone advise on anything I'm doing wrong, or whether or not this is a bug? I tried this in v3.1 prior to the latest update (I'd stayed on 3.1 for a while!), and it did this, so I decided to update to v4 just in case it was a bug in 3.1, but the same thing is occurring. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
Ideally I want to have the finished desktop version, and both a smartphone and tablet version of this site go live at the same time, in 3 days' time, so any swift help would be greatly appreciated.

By looking at the guides in the first screenshot, it appears that in order to reveal the Browser Fill area on a phone layout, you have dragged the Top of Page guide down by a few pixels and brought the Header guide to overlap it. Similarly, you have dragged the Bottom of Browser guide down a little lower to reveal the Browser Fill area at the bottom and overlapped the Footer guide with the Bottom of Page guide (or the other way around). Doing so doesn't increase the Min height for the page but makes the overall height of the content area large enough to cause the bottom area to hide when using the smaller iPhone 4 Preview (like in your case). If you switch to iPhone 5 Preview and other larger devices, you might be able to preview the cropped area.
However, please note that the Preview mode for Phone and Tablet layouts do not emulate actual device behaviours and in order to test them, it is recommended to publish the mobile pages to a webhost and test on actual mobile devices.

WebDynpro View Layout Preview Problem

Hi experts,
    I'm newbie in Webdynpro ABAP. I'm trying to develop a WDA application. Our servers are upgraded recently from 4.6C to ECC 6.0.
    When I incorporate view and go to layout tab while developing, the system gives me proxy error, page can't be displayed.
    I've gone through the related notes 1008689 1009930 and 517484.
    I've activated all the necessary service through SICF as mentioned in note 517484. Also Implemented correction of the note 1008689.
     Still I'm facing with the same error.
     What is HTTPPURLOC table ? How to configure it? I'm not understadning its documentation at all.
Any idea about this ?

we are at ECC 6.0, SAP_BASIS - 700 - Level 9.
I have activated all the services stated in the notes 517484, 1088717, I also implemented note 1008689.
When I am trying to display the view layout I am getting message No active plug-in found and the layout page shows like "The page cannot be displayed", so here I am not able to add UI elements.
I am not sure what else I am missing here.
I will appreciate if any body can help me out in this configuration.
Please send me if any body has config step by step guide

Broadcast layout preview issue

Hi Friends,
I created a Test Folder in /external repostory, and the Test Folder contains 6 otehr sub folders, These 6 folders want to be displayed on Km Navigation iView as Broadcast layout.
When i select iView and preview it is displaying Broadcast layout structure , but when i it diplay in to the portal it is showing as list layout folders.
I really need this ASAP, rewardful points guarenteed.

Hi Krishna,
You can apply the BroadCast Layout Set for the /external folder in KM under the Details -> Settings -> Presentation -> Settings for all users -> Select Profile -> Layout Set -> BroadCast.
You can then create a new KM Navigation iView with the values of both the properties - "Path to initially displayed folder" and "Path to root folder for navigation" as "/external" and add this iView to the required user's role.
Also, I notice that you have created "external" as a folder directly under the root "/". Hope you have also created a new CM Repository pointing to this location in System Admin -> System Config -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Repository Managers -> CM Repository.

In this case, please check whether the Note 950061 is implemented in
your system and also please make sure that this customizing options are
done,
OLME > Account Assignment > Maintain Account Assignment Categories and
check as per your account assignment settings.
SPRO ->Material Management->External Services management->Define Screen
Layout and double click on the Service entry sheet

Coping Print layout from Service to item

Good Day Experts,
Can you please advise if there is an easy way to copy print layouts that I was using for printing service documents to be used when printing items on Marketing documents, rather than doing them from scratch on the items print layouts.

Hi Luis......
There is an easy way to copy one layout to other.
Just follow this.......
Go to Administration> Utilities> Duplicate Layout Template.
Select Source Layout which you want to copy and select Destination Document type and its Layout Template at the bottom and add it.
Now when you check through Print Layout Designer you can find that your Layout is copied to the right place.......

HELP - DIFFERENT LAYOUT (PREVIEWER X PDF)

I am using Reports 10g.
First I was trying to layout my reports based on what I see in the report's previewer, when I tried to generate the report in PDF format, the location of the objects are different from the previewer.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I found the problem, it was a special character: " Nº "
I removed that " º " and it worked !

IPhoto: title of book doesn't show in the layout preview although a picture and headline was created. What do I do wrong? All other photos show in the preview normally?

Created a 70 page photo book and now the title including subtitle doesn't show, but seem to be there, because the photo is ticked to be the title. Now I am scared to get a beautiful grey title instead of the table mountain in SA: Do I need to be worried?

Try the following::
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
iPhoto 8 (09) and earlier- run the options indicated
iPhoto 9 (11) and later -run Option #4 to rebuild the database

Windows Azure Caching Previewing Service No Longer Works

I encounter the same issue but am not sure regenerating keys will fixed it.
once I got this error, I redeploy the application and it worked but after few hrs I got the same exception.

Report Layout Not Previewing...

Hey Guys -
I've been working on this report for hours and I can't seem to figure out why my report is not printing to the screen. In oracle reports 10g and it seems like no matter how I change this report, I can't get it to preview through the paper layout viewer. I don't understand why. I've written reports way more sophisticated than this report, and I've had no problems. This report has 11 fields from a query, which is embedded in 1 repeating frame. It seems like the repeating frame is what is keeping everything from printing - if I take away all the fields, and delete the repeating frame, the basic layout of the report shows when running in in paper layout previews.
Any ideas guys? I'm fresh out of them... Thanks in advance!

I've checked to see if the query runs outside of report builder and it does - it was one of the first things i've checked. I've even gone as far as hard coding the parameters and still, no luck. What view property are you talking about for the repeating frame? I just looked and couldn't find that property. What is the exact name of the property, and how do I get to it?

Service Entry Screen Layout

Hi All,
In customizing under external service management, SAP has provided option for customizing screen layout for service PR,OP Entry sheet etc., However, like other screen layouts, we can not make out which field is meant for which field and hence changing is also teadious process.
Can we get teh list of fields and their number of appearance in field sel 1 and 2.?

We were using are using ECC 6.0. System does provodes help on double clicking the field in the first screen it self. If we are go into details from the initial screen, then the fields are editable but no help is available.
